Hiding From Unstable Spirits (Date a Live/Tsukihime)[SI](Spoilers)

All Ultimate Ones have one thing in common; they lack any concept of Death. The only way to kill an Ultimate One is to force the concept of Death onto them via conceptual weaponry like the Black Barrel. True Ancestors under a full moon are the same; no concept of Death, and no matter what you do to something that lacks a concept of Death it will not die.
The lacking a concept of Death thing isn't exactly because they are TYPES, though. It's involved, but it's not an inherent property of TYPES. It's because they are from a different planet's Reality Marble, in which such a concept as understood by Gaia does not exist. The part where them being TYPES is involved is in that TYPES carry the reality marble of the planet they belong to along with them, to still follow its rules. They still have all the concepts that exist in their planet of origin, including any equivalent to "death" that exists there; they just don't have the same concept of death as creatures of Gaia do.

A TYPE Earth wouldn't automagically lack the concept of death, because that concept would be part of the reality marble they carry with them. It might lack one as far as, say, natives of Saturn's reality marble were concerned, but as Earthlings understand it would still be quite killable.

Nope, when Archetype: Earth shows up in Melty Blood, Shiki Ryougi explicitly states that she cannot see her death, and even goes on to say that Archetype: Earth does not have a death.

Ultimate Ones are embodiments of the will of the planets they originate from, as long as their planet still lives, they lack a concept of damage or death and thus cannot die.

Dreams and Twins
I was already fully dressed in my business suit as I reached for my blue traveling bag, and was ready to leave the hotel room for roughly two or three days... in Kurumi's care.

Not something I thought I would ever do in my life, but here I am.

And as I expected, Kotori informed me that Shido's school trip destination was changed from Okinawa to Arubi Island. I of course knew that it was thanks to the company responsible being connected with the DEM and because of Isaac setting his eyes on the closet available Spirit that being Tohka, in the hopes of capturing and Inversing her.

Yeah, like I will let the bastard get away with this, but that's a problem for me to deal with when the Miku arc comes around, but right now...

"Fou?" I called after the little critter that should have been waiting for me by the door but is nowhere to be seen. Is Kurumi still snuggling him in the bedroom?

Sighing, I turned back from the door, only for a familiar weight to start hanging on my back while a pair of hands covered my eyes. I probably shouldn't have ignored that small mana spike and maybe this giggling Kurumi clone wouldn't have got a jump on me... I think I got way too used to her presence to bother with it.

"Ara ara, leaving without saying anything onii-chan~?" Came the teasing voice of Kurumi, that surprisingly enough was not coming from the one on my back.

"I did not want to wake you up from your beauty sleep, dear little sister." I calmly replied with a small smile before sensing the small beast being close to Kurumi. "Oh, is Fou on your shoulder by the way? I don't want to be late for the plane and end up catching a ride on its wing, so could you please place him on my shoulder and let me see?"

I wanted to leave without catching Kurumi's attention, hoping that the past few weeks were enough to loosen up the girl's guard if only to make her sleep longer, and not try to sneak herself in on my couch in the middle of the night.

Which, regrettably, did not happen.

"Ah, but I wanted to give you a small gift before you leave." Said the girl, surprising me enough to raise a brow. "Kihihihi, just wait one moment~."

This was a bit odd and I was tempted to resist it, but last time Kurumi said something like that I ended up with cat ears on top of my head... I did, however, refuse to wear the tail though, much to the girl's displeasure.

So, I allowed her to continue as I felt the clone on my back wiggle a little and move the hands covering my eyes before I felt something sliding on the top of my ears and sitting on my nose.

"And... done, you can see now~." Kurumi giggled a bit and the clone removed her hands from my eyes and disappeared into the shadows.

And as she did so, I saw her dressed in her black dress as she was covering a small smile with her hand with Fou sitting on top of her head. Also, everything seemed to be colored in orange.

"... Sunglasses?" I asked, perplexed as I took the glasses off my nose and took a good look at them.

They were a simple pair of wide, circular, tinted orange sunglasses with a silver wire-frame, and they could easily hide my slit red eyes.

Looking at them, I can't but smile because I haven't replaced the destroyed ones yet, and was planning on getting a pair by buying them or using Gradation Air to create them on my way to the airport that is just outside the city.

"Ara? I see you like them already~." She teasingly said upon seeing me smile, only to freeze when one of my hands reached and took off Fou, while the other gave her a gentle head pat.

"Yes, I do like it, thank you Kurumi." I genuinely thanked the girl for the gift. "So, will you be fine for the next three to four days without me or Fou being around?"

"Hmm, I think I will be fine, and there is always the company of your weird birds if I'm too bored." She answered casually before locking her mismatched eyes with mine. "But, I can tell that you are expecting a little more than someone's temper tantrum... isn't that right?

...

She really is too smart for my own good, but there is little sense in lying to her now about the near future, as I can just chuck it up to a gut feeling, and so I sighed.

"Yes... the sudden change of the destination is most likely the work of DEM, meaning that they know at the very least about Tohka." I said while scratching the side of my head and choose to ignore an irritated glare from the girl. "Oh, and judging by the weather reports I believe that the Yamai Twins or better known as Berserk just so happen to move in the direction of that island."

Kurumi seemed to glare for a moment at me for withholding those details, but then she sighed and gave a small smile.

"Fufu, are you sure you don't want me to come too?" She asked while tilting her head to the side.

"As amusing as it would be," I said, stifling a giggle as I imagined Shido's reaction at Kurumi's presence there. "I must ask you to sit this one out."

"Fine..." Kurumi seemingly pouted and sighed.

"Good, now try not to bring every kitten you see while I and Fou are gone." I cheekily said as I watched the girl turn around and walk towards the living room waving goodbye with her hand.

So, with Fou on my shoulder and the suitcase in hand, I finally began making my way towards the airport when Fou decided to ask a question.

"Fou fou?" Quietly inquired the small beast.

"Yeah... she is a bit annoying, but having her here with us will let us stay informed better thanks to our combined information network." I answered after a moment of thought.

"Fou?" He asked again about the Yamai Twins.

"Ah, those two... they will be a headache to deal with, especially if they try to tangle us in their stupid battles." I said with some hesitation this time, as I knew the reason for their fights.

The desire to become one person again, not even considering any alternatives... it makes me furious just thinking about how stupid they could be. They are basically sisters at this point and the fact that they are currently drawing is telling everything.

"Neither wants the other to be gone nor do they themselves want to disappear." I muttered quietly and shook my head, much to Fou's confusion.

It doesn't matter, they will both be saved from that stupidity by Shido in the end and if not, then I'll simply spank it out of them after I will deal with the DEM.

I'm wondering though... will I recognize Ellen at first sight? After all, she is European and would stick out quite a bit on the plane, just as I will.

Anyway, something to think about when I reach the airport with the help of a bus that drives directly to it.

This meant an almost two hour trip up and down the crater of Tengu City, admittedly the view from the top was amazing, even better than the one that I get from one of my hotel room windows, which is located at the eastern side of the crater just as the Itsuka household is.

But I was quite surprised when I arrived at the rather large airport that was a few kilometers away from the city and failed to notice the presence of Ellen with the group of high school students, but I assumed that she must have already boarded the plane.

I did however notice Tohka, Shido, and Origami who in turn noticed me, but not Fou, who was kept hidden under my Concealment Phantasm.

When I was noticed by them, the blue-haired boy restricted himself to a simple nod and smile, Origami just gave me a short glare, and Tohka... she decided to wave and yell towards me, bringing the attention of her classmates on me.

That brought about a lot of whispering about 'that weird European guy', particularly from the three girls who I somewhat recognized.

I hope that those annoying girls will focus on Ellen and not me because I am hoping for a quick nap during the flight.

In hindsight, I should have just brought something to distract myself with.

----

And after what felt like countless hours, I've finally arrived at my destination and that made me feel... unsure.

Yes, the view was utterly breathtaking and in a way beautiful.

A castle on top of the tallest mountain, with rusted chains acting as a bridge to its gate with a hollowing black abyss below and the enormous moon shining above its tallest clockwork tower.

Once, it must have been pulsing with a life of its own, after all...

It is the Millennium Castle Brunestud.

Something that was once the home and a fragment of Crimson Moon's Reality Marble.

"Tsk, that's an annoyance." I said, clutching my forehead with my right hand and focused my sight on the moon.

I remembered less about the Tsukihime lore than I would have liked, but that part seemed so obvious to me, natural in a way, almost as if...

It was ingrained in my very being.

This slumbering castle exists in a place that is the closest to the moon, but not in a normal way, no. It exists in a place where the moon has the greatest influence on the world.

If that makes any sense...

Also, this is the place where my kin-! "No..." I whispered while shaking my head.

This castle was the ultimate protection of the True Ancestors... which makes me want to scoff because it did not save them from a bloodthirsty Arcueid, leaving only her and Altrouge as the last True Ancestors.

Huh, I have this sudden urge to hunt down a snake, if I ever leave my current world that is.

Ignoring that, I laid my eyes on the castle again, and I felt a little sad for some reason as if I was looking at something that I once held dear to me.

The castle was huge and it could probably hold a hundred or more people inside of it, its wall and towers were at least seven times the size of Shido's house with the one huge tower standing tall in the background.

Its architecture was an odd mix of Romanesque with some Gothic elements, particularly when it came to the towers with pointy roofs. However, when I decided to walk through the bridge made out of giant rusted chains I began to see how dilapidated the home of the True Ancestors truly was.

The walls that once must have been white like snow are now gray and chipped, some towers look like they're about to crumble, but the most glaring thing was now before me after I crossed the 'bridge'.

The gate.

Or, more like a door. A metal door that is five times my size and is now totally covered in rust, any letters or decorations that it once had were unrecognizable. So of course I made my way to it and laid my hands on the door to open it.

"Ugh?!" I groaned from the effort that I put into pushing the doors open, barely managing to make any progress.

Just... how heavy are these doors?

After a while however I have managed to throw them open, but I was surprisingly tired after it, I was even more surprised when I saw that behind that door I could see the courtyard already.

It was a field of beautiful white flowers that seemed to glow thanks to the moonlight, a broken fountain laid in the middle of it, and the courtyard itself was surrounded by the castle's walls, and behind the fountain was the main keep with its tower that stood tall above everything else.

Still... why am I hesitating? Why am I afraid of stepping into the castle itself, this just doesn't make any sense to me.

There should be no one in the castle who could threaten me, nor from what I know the castle itself doesn't have any traps to deal with any intruders. So why do I feel like making even one step forward could have consequences.

I mean, the only one I could think of being here would be...

"Arcueid." I whispered as I focused on the keep proper.

If she's here, then maybe... just maybe I could talk to her? She would most likely be asleep on her throne, but it is still the best option if I want to learn about being a proper True Ancestor myself, hell maybe I could even ask her to request Zelretch's help dealing with Mio.

Dismissing my previous worries, I steel myself and take my first step past the gate and into the courtya-

Welcome home.

And I stopped the moment that feeling hit me like a speeding truck.

That no matter how much I would like to deny it, this place, that the Millennium Castle Brunestud... is my home. Each step I took across the flower-filled courtyard seemingly reinforced that feeling as if I had done that countless times before.

Now, even the ruined fountain in the middle of it seems so familiar that I could imagine how it must have looked before, with crystal clear water pouring into its basin and-

"Hmm, how interesting." Said a female voice behind me and I froze. "Truly, you are a curious case, so far away and so confused too."

I was terrified, I knew that I should have not walked inside, because I forgot the fact that when the White Princess sleeps...

The Crimson Moon himself walks around the castle, waiting for the time to fuse with her.

I didn't look behind me, I simply stared at the fountain and tried to not end up running away, no matter how tempting the idea was, as I simply didn't know what to do now.

"Ah, you're afraid?" Asked me 'Arcueid' with a hint of curiosity and amusement in her voice.

Just my luck too, the little part of Crimson Moon being present and sensing me the moment I entered, but no worry I still didn't do anything too suspicoi-

"Are you... rejecting me?" She questioned me in bewilderment.

And I jinxed it.

I reluctantly turned around and the first thing I saw was narrowed eyes, a red so similar to my own as they stared with curiosity and annoyance.

"How a... e yo... d... it?" I think she was saying something, but it all started to become distorted and she must have noticed that judging from the anger in those eyes. "Me... ou... gain..."

----

I blinked.

Moving my head to the sides I noticed that I was back on the plane, with Fou sitting on my right shoulder and napping undetected, then I discretely looked at the back and noticed that Shido was doing the same with Tohka and Origami leaning on him.

I noticed that Tohka seemed to have some traces of drool on her face while Origami was smiling gently, causing me to smirk a bit.

At least someone is having a good nap.

I think I would prefer not to dream about anything ever again if that would mean I don't have to visit 'home' again and be faced with the shard of Crimson Moon in the form of Arcuied.

I didn't even manage to see more than her eyes and I'm sure that I do not want to even talk with her more, especially after what was said. I'm rejecting her? Is that thanks to my human origin, am I too alien to the alien?

"Ugh, that's too much of a headache." I muttered quietly under my breath.

"Sir, are you alright?" Came a worried question from the seat on my right.

I looked towards the source and... ah, that's right.

"Yes, I'm fine miss...?" I answered after lightly shaking my head.

"Ellen, and I'm glad you're fine sir...?" She answered after blinking in surprise.

"Please call me Al." I smiled at her and focused on the camera hanging on her neck. "You're that beautiful photographer that the company has sent with the kid's school trip?"

Ellen Mira Mathers, number one Wizard in the world, Isaac's right-hand woman and personal attack dog. Also, an utterly beautiful woman with pale blond hair, deep purple eyes, soft pale skin, and a slender gentle body.

Also, she's probably like forty plus years old but looks barely twenty, does the DEM have youth potions or something?

"Y-Yes, that's correct." She stuttered a little there and blushed? "Wait, you're not here with the students?"

"Nope." I swiftly answered with a grin. "I'm a tourist and I didn't know that I would be flying with an entire school, you see?"

Ellen seemed to be surprised at that, so I guess she must have taken me as a teacher aid or something like that and not some tourist that just happen to be traveling to the same place as her target.

"I see... say do yo-"

"Ellen!" An overly enthusiastic voice called out to the woman I hoped to talk for a bit.

I and Ellen looked towards the... oh dear, it's the three weird girls again standing next to us and I had to withhold a tired sigh.

"Ellen, you're supposed to be taking photos and not flirt with the suit guy." Proclaimed the blond and yellow-eyed Ai Yamabuki.

"Yes, you can work on your love life later Ellen." Chimed in the brown-eyed and brown-haired Mai Hazakura.

"That's so lame." Inputted the short girl with gray-purple eyes and hair named Mii Fujibakama.

I then turned my head towards Ellen, to see her face adorned with a nice shade of red and I grinned, much to her horror.

"Well, well, Ellen-san~." I began with a teasing tone causing the eyes of the woman to widen. "I did not know you're a cougar on the hunt."

The three girls gasped at that and most likely looked at the woman in horror and shock at the sudden realization.

"I-I... N-No, it's not l-like that!" Ellen tried to defend herself with little success as Mii commented with another 'lame'. "D-Damn y-you!"

Ellen then surprised me by reaching out with her hands for my throat and trying to choke me out of embarrassment.

"E-Ellen, I didn't know you're this forward with your kinks." I managed to speak, despite her hold on my throat to the growing terror of the woman. "B-But shouldn't we wait for... a more private place?"

"..." Ellen just looked at me, a mixture of horror, embarrassment, and bloodlust in burned in her eyes.

...

Worth it!

----

"Fou?" Asked an annoyed Fou.

"Yes, it still hurts." I answered and grabbed my neck that still felt sore.

I swear a human would have died from all the shaking and choking that an embarrassed Ellen can dish out. Still, even if I end up as the hated enemy of that woman I think it was worth it, if only for giggle's sake.

Wonder if Kurumi will find it funny after I tell her about it?

Anyway, after we landed on the crescent-shaped island, I went straight towards the local hotel where the students will also be staying for the next few days. I also was there before them, if only to avoid being questioned by Shido or Tohka about the 'screaming woman that was choking me on the plane'.

Funny how Ellen hid in the plane's bathroom after her screams woke everyone up and directed their attention on us.

So, now Shido's group went on a tour of the island while I'm standing around in the hotel's lobby and trying to sense out DEM's airship or the Yamai Twi-

"Fou!" The critter yelled out in alarm.

"They're coming towards the island?" I asked him for confirmation about the two sources of magical energy he detected well before me.

A mere moment later I also sensed them and was surprised by their speed, so I bolted towards the exit and used my Concealment the moment I knew I left the sight of any bystanders.

I ignored the sky that was darkened by gray clouds, the strong wind, and the occasional lighting. Instead, I focused on the signature of the twins, which wasn't too hard, they do stand out after all and feel like the raging wind itself, and they already were on the island, not that far away too.

"Hold on buddy, we're going to meet them." I said to my small companion with a mad grin on my face.

Just like in Ocean Park, I felt my mana gathering in my legs, waiting to be released, and when I did I was catapulted in the direction where I felt the twin's power hang in one place for a moment.

I felt the wind on my face and Fou's claws biting into my shoulder so that he would fly off, however, I knew I couldn't reach them in one jump and began to gather mana once again in my legs for the landing.

This actually helped to smooth the landing enough from a deathly danger to a normal human to an annoyance and helped to launch me off again.

As I was in the air I finally noticed two objects moving with incredible speed in the air and colliding with each other... and I chuckled a bit. Those two will be such a pain to deal with.

I then landed on a road and noticed Shido and an unconscious Tohka handing on his back below the road, and I waved my hand at the boy.

"Oi Shid-" Was all I managed to say before...

SLAM!

"GAH!" I yelped as a pair of fists hit me right in the face and stunning me just for a second.

In that second the girls that hit me had probably realized their mistake, but not the magnitude of it, as after regaining myself my hands reached for the girl's ears, and I pulled them closer and ignored their yelps of pain.

"WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOLTS DOING?!" I shouted at the two girls whose ears I held firmly in my hands.

They really are acting like kids...

XXXX

So, this took way too much time to write... and somehow the hardest thing was the very start of the chapter, I don't know why honestly.
Yeah, Al got away from a talk for now, but can you really run away from dreams? Next time CM might not just let him go.

Well, I guess "setting up the stage" of a new story arc is a difficult task in itself.
You need remember the positions and motivations of all "actors", then plan their movement forwards... or something.

the shard of Crimson Moon in the form of Arcuied
I'm assuming that's not the berserk Arcueid from Melty Blood (who's not even Arc herself but TATARI taking the form of her fear).
Probably looks more like Archetype Earth, but red eyes and manic expression?

Yeah, the CM takes on the form of Arc before her fall, where she had a white-blue royal dress and really long hair. Also, all TA have cat-like red eyes(I think? Even Arch-Earth has them), and CM was annoyed that she didn't get a chance to question Al before the connection was cut off.

Well that is exactly the wrong kind of attention from Crimson Moon that anyone wants.

Well that's certainly an impression made, on both CM and the woman.

I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, I greatly enjoyed the time taken to absorb the scenery of the castle.

By the gods i feel like i want more baeber appearance. So how was al summoned.
The idea is that he was thrown in the summoning with Saber by either ROB or the old perverted vampire.
Also, baeber will be quite embarrassed in the next update to the Omake, but sadly don't expect it too soon as I feel that I need to focus on the main story more.

Can he smack Ellen with a Road Roller please? Or Reine once he figured out her omnipotence is not so omnipotent at all. Or something else, I don't know. As long as it's a JoJo reference. It would be even better if JoJo existed as an anime in DaL, the reactions man.
"The most powerful spirit recorded to date and he kicked our agents' asses with f*cking JoJo references".
Actually, speaking of JoJo, how is it possible that Al is a vampire yet he didn't WRYYYY at anything yet? It'd probably make himself feel dumb, and then he realizes that he's a fuckmothering vampire and he can do what he wants and still be cool.

Been busy and just got a proper read this time and noticed @HarshAO has pointed almost all the TYPO's and... you kinda missed some of what he pointed out like what Fou latching on his shoulder so he won't fly off when he flung himself from the ground.

Though here are some I noticed which HarshAO did not pointed already, @Caldon.
using Gradation Air to create them
"Kihihihi, just wait one moment~."
Accidental spacing after the quotation and.... is that really how Kurumi sound like when she becames mischievious?

Twins, Am I Right?
"Au au au! L-Let go!" Whined the girl held in my left hand by her ear.

"Agreement. Release us and stop this interference, and allow Yuzuru to win." Came the more robotic sounding response from the girl held in my right hand.

I sighed and looked first at the girl on my left and gave her a smile that seemed to surprise her.

"So, it was the two of you who caused this hurricane and probably all the weird other ones, isn't that right?"

"Kaguya-san~." I cheerfully said the young girl's name, whose eyes shot wide with surprise and worry.

Just as I expected, Kaguya has beautiful blue eyes, bright orange hair that reminded me a lot of Saber from the Nasuverse, as in her hair was styled in a bun with a pair of long strands falling below her chest and seemed to curl at the end, and physically she looks similar to Origami but somehow more... fragile I guess?

But her Astral Dress... well, calling it a dress is quite the stretch.

Its something that someone with a BDSM fetish would wear, with purple leather straps around her chest and stomach, on her neck is a leathery chocker with a small lock connected with a chain, leathery evening gloves that didn't hide her hands that reached till her armpits, leather high heels that stretched past her knees, a dark half skirt that revealed her front, and on her right hand and leg was a large hexagon-shaped bracelet plus a singular silver metal wing on her right side.

I move my head to the right and looked at the other sister with the same smile I gave Kaguya.

"Yuzuru-san~." I spoke the girl's name in the same way I did with her sister, to which the girl reacted by tensing up her body but her expression remained largely unchanged, save for a slightly raised eyebrow.

Since the Yamai sisters were twins, Yuzuru looked almost identical to Kaguya, but there were some visible differences between them.

For one, Yuzuru had her hair styled in a long braid that reached just a bit below her waist, her face was not as expressive and she had a much curvier figure than her sister.

Her Astral Dress was also quite similar, but it was more blue than purple, instead of an open skirt she wore a short dark cape, the bracelets and wing were also on the left side of her body.

"Surprise. How did you know Yuzuru's and poor Kaguya's names?" Asked me Yuzuru.

"W-Why are you insulting me Yuzuru?!" Kaguya snapped back at her sister's remark before quickly addressing me. "And who are you anyway?!"

I chose to simply ignore the twins that I'm holding by the ear, and instead focused on Shido, who was still standing where he was with Tohka on his back.

"So, Shido... why is Tohka unconscious?" I questioned the blue-haired boy with a raised eyebrow, even though I could guess the reason behind Tohka's current status.

"W-Well, you see Al..." Shido was fidgeting in place and was visibly uncomfortable with the sudden question.

"... What? Did she got hit with a flying garbage bin or something?" I asked with a smirk to which Shido responded with an awkward nod. "...oh."

"Hey, don't ignore us, or I'll pierce you with umm... my Shatten Lanze!" Shouted an annoyed Kaguya, still unable to free herself.

"Smirk. The name is different from what it was before." Calmly said Yuzuru that was focused more and ticking off her sister than attempting to break free.

"Wh-Whatever, Yuzuru! Just help me try and break free of this mortal's hold!" The more emotional twin demanded of her sister.

"I would highly advise you two against doing anyth-" I tried to warn the girls before they do something to escalate, but the sudden rise in the strength of the wind that surrounded us cut me off.

And while I myself was relatively safe from the force of the wind thanks to the eye of the cyclone working here, Shido however was less lucky.

"Guh!" I heard Shido grunt and noticed him kneeling on the ground Tohka still on his back.

"And like that, the kid gloves are off." I muttered under my breath.

My Marble Phantasm was activated in an instant and thanks to the dark clouds above us I knew exactly what I wanted to happen.

BOOM!

And a pair of lightning bolts hit the ground a few meters behind the twins, who yelped at the sudden eruption of sound and light that lasted for less than a second. That was enough to calm down the twins who most likely sensed the surge of magical energy coming from me a moment before the lightning bolts struck.

"So, first off I am not a 'mortal' dear little Kaguya-san but a Spirit." I said while looking at the girl with an annoyed expression on my face as I pulled the ears of the sisters harder, much to their discomfort. "The names Alaya, but you can call me Al."

"Pointing out. That sounds like a girl's name." Commented Yuzuru as she covered the mouth with her hand and pretended to laugh.

"Doesn't matter, he still interrupted our sacred duel!" Kaguya shouted and glared at me.

"D-Duel/Duel?" Questioned Shido and I, the former of course yelled and thus earning himself the attention of the twins.

"Question. Is he a Spirit too?" Asked aloud Yuzuru while looking at the boy.

"Shido? Nah, he's human." I interjected hoping that the girls will ignore the blue-haired boy.

"So even a human stumbles upon our duel? Is this a mockery of fate?" Dramatically declared Kaguya.

I was starting to regret not leaving this encounter entirely to Shido, but I don't think he would forget the fact that I left him alone to deal with the rather volatile twins.

"... why are all of my little siblings such a headache to deal with?"

...

The wind seemed to die down almost immediately, leaving me to stand in the silence with the twins looking at me with a bewildered expression(at least Kaguya did, Yuzuru is still too hard to read), Shido in the meanwhile seemed to have a passive look and was most likely judging me for the badly timed slip up.

"S-S-SIBLINGS?!" Kaguya yelled out in confusion, so loud it made the lighting sound quiet in comparison.

"Request. Could you please explain to Yuzuru what you meant?" Asked Yuzuru in her robotic manner, so I thought that she didn't take that quiet proclamation the same as her sister, but the moment I saw her eyes fully open I realized that it surprised her more than I expected.

"Well... you two are Spirits, right?" I hesitantly asked the girls a question to which they both nodded a little. "And I'm a Spirit too, and since I'm the older one, it's my duty to watch over the other Spirits who I consider my siblings."

...

...

"You all are making this really awkward for me, you know?" I commented on the silence and glares I received from everyone present.

"Fou." The fluffy ball on top of my head finally decided to make himself known to all... by insulting me.

"That was rude Fou, even if it was true..." I answered a bit hurt by my companion's comment.

But it seemed that the girls also noticed the furball sitting on my head and were mesmerized by it.

"C-Cute." Said Kaguya while dropping her chuunibyou personality for a moment.

"Agreement. Yuzuru finds this animal cute." Joined in Yuzuru.

Fou meanwhile fidgeted on my head and probably regretted getting noticed now, as despite the twins still being held by their ears their eyes were managing to look up to the small creature.

"Don't change the subject now!" I roared with annoyance at the girls as I pulled their ear more causing them to wince a little. "You two are making enough trouble, and it ends now!"

The girls froze at the tone of my voice and a quick glance at their expressions confirmed that... they were actually scared? Huh, must their first time someone with any kind of authority over them yelling and ordering them like that.

"Umm... what was that thing about a duel?" It was Shido girls and I shifted our attention to him.

"A-Ah, right... " The energetic girl slipped back into her chuunibyou mode and addressed Shido. "Kuku, our sacred duel to decide the true Yamai of course!"

This predictably meant nothing to Shido, but I decided to play along, and together with the boy we looked towards the other twin to expand on Kaguya's words.

"Explanation. Yuzuru and Kaguya have fought many times to determine who should become the true Yamai, and you have interrupted our duel." The robotic girl kind of explained and looked at me when saying the last part.

"And since you interrupted our duel 'Alaya'... kuku, yes, you will serve a-"

"Nope." I cut off the girl with a smirk on my face. "Whatever you're planning Kaguya-san, I will not take part in it."

"B-But my great plan!" The girl whined at my dismissal.

"Appeal. In that case, please remove yourself and allow Yuzuru and Kaguya to continue." The other twin request of me, most likely growing tired of being treated like a rebellious child.

"This is also not happening, you two simply lack any form of restraint and would ruin this trip... and also the whole island most likely." I said as my smirk slowly turned into a frown. "That's why I'm not letting go of your ears until you promise not to fight again."

"Disagreement. Yuzuru has to become the true Yamai." The calmer twin responded in her usual manner.

"Like hell! I'm going to become the one and only Yamai!" The more expressive one replied in turn, totally disregarding my statement.

This is not as going as bad as it could since the winds are not blowing anyone away for now, but I still need to find a way to calm them down. Alas, they proved more troublesome than I expected so maybe I should use my Mystic Ey-

"M-Maybe I can help you?" My attention shifted to the blue-haired boy who had Tohka on his back and was slowly approaching us after shouting his proposal.

Huh, I did not expect Shido to be bold enough to take initiative here... or did he simply notice my dilemma? I sighed and released the twins from my grasp and they took this chance to take a step or two away from me.

"Doubt. How could a human help in determining the true Yamai?" Yuzuru surprised me with a raised eyebrow when asking this question.

She's going wild today.

"W-Well... I could..." Shido however, could only stutter as he didn't think before acting.

Heh, that makes two of us.

"Wait Yuzuru, I think I have an idea on how we can handle our last duel!" Kaguya theatrically proclaimed as she pointed her finger at Shido. "There is one thing in which we did not yet have a victor, and you, your name was Shido, correct?"

"Y-Yeah, Itsuka Shido." He answered, surprised at being questioned about his name.

"Very well, you shall do." Kaguya then looked to her sister. "We shall have a battle of Charm! After all, the true Yamai who is the child of hurricanes should have not only have the strength, intelligence, and unparalleled beauty that would make the creator of the universe jealous, don't you think?"

"Pondering..." Said Yuzuru.

I then noticed Shido's confused expression as Kaguas antics seemed to be a mystery to the boy.

"In short, you want Shido to decide which one of you is cuter?" I asked while crossing my arms and saw that Shido took a step back from the girls and me. Then Yuzuru looked up to me and... I think she was asking for my permission about all of this?

"As long as you two don't fight or tear Shido into two," I smirked when I noticed how Shido winced at that. "I am fine with that 'duel'."

"Reply. We did not compete in that yet, so I accept this. But Yuzuru was always the more charming one." Yuzuru boastfully proclaimed, much to her sister's irritation.

And while the twins were busy mocking each other I approached Shido to thank him for the intervention.

"Thanks, but you sure you know what you're getting yourself into, Shido?" I asked the boy with a worried expression.

"I'm not sure... but after what you said last time I know that I have to do something." He answered me with determination in his eyes.

I chuckled a little as I thought about the time I spend an afternoon with him and we could talk a little and gave him an honest smile.

"Good, I'll go and inform Reine-san about this development so that she can get a cover for those two." I informed him about my plan before I snapped my head back to the twins. "Speaking of..."

"Kaguya! Yuzuru!" I shouted at the girls who stiffened a bit before they looked at me puzzled. "I will go to a place where Shido will guide you two and meet you there again, and for your sake... I hope you will behave."

I had to withhold my laughter as the twins covered their ears and nodded. Also had not to laugh when I 'disappeared' and heard their confusion behind my back as I was going to the museum where Shido's class should be.

----

Getting to and finding Reine in the museum that the students took refuge in when the winds caused by the twins was relatively easy, but also quite embarrassing.

Mostly thanks to the trio of annoying girls in Shido's class that deemed my sudden appearance in the museum and asking for a talk in private with Reine as 'cheating on Ellen', which of course prompted the fake photographer to stutter a denial of anything being between us all the while her whole face turned in a shade of red that would make Kotori's hair seem pale in comparison.

So of course I made it worse for the woman by saying out loud that ' I'm deeply hurt by her words' and that 'I thought that there was something special between us'.

I admit it that I laughed shamelessly as Ellen ran away screaming towards the bathroom with the three girls chasing after her, all the while Reine was dragging me towards an empty room by the arm.

Once there I of course informed her about the twins and their silly duel, but only after releasing the Presence Concleament of Fou, just to be safe from any attempt of making a move against me.

Fou later demanded compensation for using him as an anti-Reine shield after the woman left to look out for Shido and telling me to wait here for them. I did as she asked so at least I didn't have to deal with another dose of high school drama born from the situation of Shido coming back with two beautiful girls and an unconscious Tohka, so that's something.

And after a few minutes of waiting Reine has returned with Shido and the girls, the latter which were worried for a moment after seeing me again so soon, but they quickly returned to 'seducing' the boy when I shrugged and smiled at them.

Still...

"Watching them cling to him like that feels a little..." I hesitantly and quietly said as I watched the twins snuggle up to Shido on the purple couch, promising him eternal bliss and the like if he chooses them of course.

"Awkward?" Chipped in Reine with her calm voice and stoic expression as she stood next to me and watched the rather inexperienced girls in the art of seduction.

"Yeah, that... " I answered and nodded. "Anyway, how's Tohka doin-"

"Shido... I want to try all that food..." The girl that was lying on another couch behind us mumbled in her sleep while drooling.

"She'll be fine, I guess." I chuckled at the quite adorable display of the sleeping girl.

Though, I do hope that Shido will ask Ratatoskr for a budget increase for the food if Tohka continues asking for all the snacks she saw on the internet.

"So, what is all this talk about duels? Why are you two still fighting to be the 'true Yamai'?" Came a sudden question from Shido directed at the twins and catching my attention.

"Hmmm? Oh, we didn't tell you, right?" Kaguya put a finger to her chin and awkwardly smiled. "We used to be one single Spirit called Yamai."

"Correct. However, after coming to this world several times, caused Yamai to split in two." Said calmly Yuzuru.

Yeah, being suddenly split into two, that would explain why the girls are nearly identical but... ugh, I'm sure there was something more to that, but I can't remember it all.

Eh, never mind that their situation is complicated enough already, I do however think that events should go mostly like I remember them, and since the girls know that I'll let them have their silly little competition as long as they don't fight, so they should have no reason to deviate too much.

Heh, at least those two have each other, no matter how much they want to deny it, after all...

"Those girls truly are two halves of a whole." I crossed my arms and shook my head as I said that, completely ignoring whatever conversation that was going on.

"W-What are you saying?!"/"Denial. Yuzuru and Kaguya are nothing like that." The twins looked at me and answered at the same moment before they made eye contact with a surprised look on their face, but they quickly broke it with a 'Hmpf'.

"Anyway, I was kinda lost in the clouds, were you two saying anything important right now?" I asked the girls that were still glued to Shido with a small smirk plastered on my face.

"Why you...!" Kaguya was visibly upset by my actions, but luckily just like her sister, she restrained herself to glaring at me.

"Sum. The winner of this duel will become the main personality of the new Yamai, while the loser will disappear. Yuzuru will of course be the victor." Yuzuru answer and then quickly went back to gluing herself to Shido.

Ah, so I didn't miss much that's good.

"But... are you two fin-" My question was abruptly cut off, courtesy of Reine covering my mouth with a tablet and giving me the 'don't talk now' look.

Rude, I'm going to put Fou in your room once we get back from the trip dear Reine.

"It's no use, I can't contact the Fraxinus nor have I found the reason behind it." She ignored me and addressed Shido.

"Eh? But, why..."

"As I said, I don't know yet." Reine shook her head slightly and removed the offending piece of technology from my mouth before she addressed the twins. "You are Kaguya and Yuzuru and are currently competing for Shido to become the true Yamai, correct? Please follow me for a little talk, Shin, Alaya could you please watch over Tohka?"

"Uh, Reine-san?" Shido questioned the woman's sudden decision and I saw the worry he had over her safety in his eyes.

"Question. You are?" Yuzuru raised an eyebrow and the request of the pale-blue haired woman.

"A school teacher." She quietly replied with a half-truth as she went towards the door.

"Hmm, why should I follow a mere mortal? Do you perhaps plan on being a hindrance?" Kaguya seemed suspicious of the woman's request.

"Rejection. Yuzuru prefers to stay with Shido." Stated the girl.

"It's because Shin is thick-headed, isn't it obvious? Despite how cute and charming the both of you are he has still not chosen any of you." Reine opened the door and gave the girls a side glance. "I don't mind helping one or you two with this case."

Reine left the room and after a moment the sisters reluctantly followed her, leaving me, Shido, and a Fou who is now sleeping with Tohka.

I sighed and sat next to the slumbering girl on the couch.

"Boy oh boy, think you can handle two of my little sisters at the same time, Shido~?" I teasingly asked him.

"I don't kno-... wha-what are you saying, Al?!" He blushed and yelled at me after catching up on the... more naughty meaning to which I could only chuckle.

"Haha, calm down I was only joking... for now at least." I dismissively waved my hand before adopting a more serious expression. "But you know, right now with those two there is not much I can help you with, right?"

"Yeah, I guess... that the only thing you could do is to stop them from fighting." Shido scratched the back of his head as he sat on the couch next to Tohka and gently patted the girl's head.

"Yes, you will need to handle the twins on your own, but I believe that you can help them." I gave him my honest smile as I took down my sunglasses. "After all... I don't believe they are being entirely honest with themselves."

"Huh? What do you mean Al?" He was quite surprised at that and honestly, I don't blame him.

"Shido, could you imagine living without Kotori?" The boy paled at the question and quickly shook his head in denial.

"So, you mean that...?" I could see that he arrived at the same conclusion.

"They have had each other since they can remember and I think that secretly they don't wish the other to disappear." I saw Shido's eyes went wide with realization.

"Then... what should I do if that's what they're really are thinking?" He was getting a little worried now as he asked me that.

"Well, the same that you always do I guess." I smiled at him before getting up and walking towards the door with Fou in my arms.

"Make them fall for you and save them." Saying my part, I too left towards the hotel.

XXXX

I'm sorry it took so long to write another chapter, but I simply couldn't make it in a way that I found good. Maybe simply because I've put Al into a position where he was utterly unneeded or something, but I think the next chapter will be much easier for me to write than this one, as it will shift away from what Shido is doing and focus more on Reine... at least that's the plan for now.
Also, I can't get the idea for a fic out of my head where the SI is Shido's twin(maybe even genderbend) and receives EMIYA's magecraft and UBW, waking up in Tengu City after the events of S3 in the anime with the goal of hunting down DEM, Ratatoskr and the Spirits thanks merging a little bit too much with EMIYA and getting twisted.
Anyway, please comment about the things you didn't like in the chapter and those you liked, it just might help me to not repeat mistakes.

I enjoyed this chapter, especially Al's characteristic cheek.

I do get the sense you're getting stymied by the Canon plot, it might be worthwhile trying to have Al take things off the rails whether that's with a big action or you just dip your toes with some sort of side thing.

Aye, that's what was happening, but I hoped that I could somehow deal with it in a better way.
But I've planned how the Yamai arc would go when it comes to derailing canon, so while things in Shido's side will be most likely omitted since Al will leave them to be played out how they were supposed to be... the DEM side might just get a nasty surprise with consequences that Al didn't account for(he has a plan though that can still be a pain to deal with for Issac if he plays it right).
And maybe some Reine bonding too.

I like the idea behind the fanfic that you are thinking of. Although, I do hope that you will try to keep the gender of the SI as male or else it's going to be awkward to have the memories of Shirou "sharing his mana."

Edit: Plus it would be interesting to see the reactions of the Spirits reaction to a second Shido, even if the SI is supposedly trying to kill them.

That sounds like a good approach, especially the unexpected consequences, its always fun seeing ripples and reactions to a new factor's actions.

I love occasionally going 'who would be effected by 'x' and how would they each react at this point and who in turn would that effect?'

I shall very much enjoy whatever you have coming next!

I am just going to say this so I don't sound like an asshole, write whatever you want. Regardless of what anyone tells you, only you get to determine what you want to write.

That being said, I understand the appeal of writing about EMIYA/Shirou/Archer. He's badass, has plenty of toys to use, and has an awesome power but as someone who advocates for creative diversity, Please don't use Shirou.

Making an SI the gender-bent twin of the MC is overdone but so is having Shirou Emiya/Archer/EMIYA as an MC or influencing the MC.

If you are going to write about a character getting servant powers and becoming a demi-servant with a focus on corruption, please look to your left and right. There are literally dozens of servants to choose from, some of which have yet to see the light of day beyond 1k one-shots. We have enough Emiya fics as it is, so if you are going to gender-bend the SI, may I recommend using:

Carmilla: it might be a bit too close to AL's powers but you having your SI share a body with Carmilla could allow you to have the MC be slowly corrupted by the need for bathing in the blood of young girls. Not to mention the boost your SI would get when fighting against young girls/women.

Jack the Ripper: Same case with Camilla but less on the vampire side and more on the stabby side. You get a boost fighting anyone of the female gender AND your SI will have to fight the urge to not slit every spirits' throats in Shidou's harem.

Minamoto no Raikou: Al be pretending to be the "Onii-San" of the spirits, but with Raikou, the SI can be the yandere Mom of all the spirits. The SI will slowly lose herself to the madness of love for Shidou and will dote on the girls.

Those are only a few, but they are there and would fit much better with the premise you are trying to write.

With this, I have said my peace. Good day and happy writing.

Don't worry, I appreciate your input, in fact, I actually didn't consider even using another servant than EMIYA simply because I found him the most suitable thanks to UBW and his duty as Counter Guardian.
The genderbent twin however would fit quite well I thought thanks to the fact that Shido dresses up as Shiori to make Miku fall for him, but a twin brother wouldn't be I'm against too.
And your choice of possible Servants is really interesting and pretty terrifying for the Spirits.
But if I were to pick a servant other than EMIYA it would prbably someone like Oda Nobunaga, Artoria Alter(Preferbly Saber, but I also quite like the Lancer version), Jeanne Alter or for the ultimate F YOU to Mio it would be Abigail Willams(tentacles for everyone!).

You could also use Arjuna Alter (Berserker).

I also feel that EMIYA would be good as his original goal was to be a Hero of Justice, and since the Spirits tend to forgo any care for their surroundings, which includes people, he would most likely be tempted to kill them.

Also while I am cool with a gender bend, would it work as a good dynamic between the SI and Shido? It might just be me, but wouldn't there be a bigger connotation with the SI and Mana if there was a gender bend?

I was going to mention Salter or Jalter but I never saw Nobu as a possible one since idk if spirits count as "divine" nor can I comment about Abby cuz I don't know Date a Live-verse very well.

Still, I appreciate that you didn't blow off my comment. Whatever you write, I will follow but if you MUST use Shirou, use Miyuverse Shirou. He's the cool Shirou and he's not used as often as his UBW counterpart.
