If these things are actually eating the Simurgh then that means that they can apprently chew through things that are, and I quote from Word of God, "so dense that they couldn't possibly be on this Earth" because they would instantly punch an Endbringer sized hole through it.

It maintains the warping ability of its larval state in addition to its flight abilities but comes with a whole new host of deadly powers at its disposal. The Omega strain is able to fire concentrated energy blasts similar to the wave beam from its maw, project energy waves from its claws and send out a gravity-flux that causes the terrain to shift erratically, creating extremely unstable footing plus damaging structures and vehicles. Simply touching the beast will instantly kill the standard GF-marine and the Omega comes out extremely favorably in all simulated match-ups with known Federation vehicles.

Seemingly aware of this the Omega is capable of generating an armour made of crystalline shards. Extremely durable this armour allows the Omega to channel its own vast energy stores into it to mimic Parahuman abilities, choosing from a pool of abilities much like the Parahuman Eidolon, though unlike Eidolon the Omega must create a "stack" of abilities that must fit a certain theme but it can use these abilities immediately at full power, quickly "hot-swap" between them depending on the situation and appears to have an extreme amount of control over what abilities it has at any one time. This comes at the cost of the crystalline armour negatively resonating with certain weapon types depending on what power stack is used. Attacking with those weapon types will shatter the armour and prevent the Omega from regenerating it for a period of time.

This ability indicates this Xenoform species possess not only the ability to adapt and incorporate abilities of its victims on a species-wide level but a powerful intellect. This is most seen by the creatures ability to gather with other Omega's and Xenoform strains in herds often reaching a hundred individuals and act in a coordinated fashion though whether this is the result of a higher intellect controlling them is currently unknown.

Eithier the Simurgh is Metroid chow, or it isn't Metroid chow which raises a host of horrible possibilities. I think we've seen what the Chozo wanted us to see, there is no fucking way we're fighting Metroids with superpowers, let's get out of here and see if we can cold fusion the place from orbit.

Metoids don't eat things physically (though I guess they could if they wanted to). They drain energy from things. Now consider how in Worm canon the Shards and Entities fuel their powers with enormous amounts of energy. Anything Entity related is likely an all-you-can-eat buffet table to Metroids. And Metroids are always hungry.

Metroids don't chew, the absorb life energy. No amount of density will protect you from thwt.
 
I'm thinking that when we get back, we should see about about finding a parahuman with some kind of cryokinesis or similar ability, they would very useful in fighting the Metroids.

We need to know. We need to know where these Metroid came from. And if the Pirates are really idiotic enough to have More sites researching the things.

They never gave up taking Metroids in canon. We have to find out if they've restarted Metroid experiments anywhere else. We need to scan the computers, rip all the information out, and Then run like hell. Maybe catch sight of the Simurgh during our escape.

Running is good, but they haven't found usYet. We can't leave yet people, we Need to find out what else this hell hole is hiding.

Just keep in mind those Omegas had an insta-death touch and powers compared to Eidiolon's. These are things that can take Scion, or maybe even an Entity in its real body.

And now for something completely different, Forget controlling the Metroids - what if there was a way to free them from that whole "unending hunger" thing? This isn't a realistic idea, but something I've been thinking about for awhile.

Leaving is a slightly delayed death sentence. Weather patterns aren't enough to stop Metroids, and even if they ever were the fact that these Metroids have space warping powers means that at some point one of them is going to hop over the ocean to South America or Africa and doom everything.

Right now the only things keeping the entire planet safe from Metroid Armageddon are the fail-safe systems in that Pirate base, and we all know how rickety those are. We really need to find out exactly how rickety the Pirate "fail-safe" is that's keeping this shitstorm from hitting the rest of the planet, and maybe reinforcing it somehow to keep all this crap on ice as long as possible.

As was pointed out Jammers need to be maintained and the Pirates are actively manipulating the weather around Antarctica, which was a subtle implication pirates are actively maintaining quarantine. Plus you know, the interlude. There are protections in place to keep the Metroids from killing everything and you just lack the proper satellite surveillance to determine what it is though I've put clues throughout the quest.

If you actually think you'll be able to deal with all these Metroids now you're going to be disappointed. There's a reason I gave you guys such an easy way to get in and out of Antarctica.

Edit: The search vote is just to answer some very important questions and get a better idea of the threat.

We should send to other first if we want to explore.

To dangerous to stay, we can always return when Samus has stronger weapons, and more abilities, it's how it works in the games.

Did Nintendo killed the Metroid franchise with Other M, and Federation Force?

Older Samus regularly goes onto hostile plants and kicks the shit out of everyone on it, I think we can handle a base full of enemy's.

Immortals said not five posts above yours that if anyone thinks we can actually fight these Metroids successfully, they're going to be disappointed. The scan itself says that if we fight the Omega Strain Metroids, we will die. No if, ands or buts. Death is guaranteed.
