You were on the train headed to your college when it happened. While playing Flappy Bird on your smart phone, an ad for a game popped up right after you hit a pipe just before beating your previous score. Curious and perhaps a little zoned out from lack of sleep due to working all night on an assignment, you decided to check out the game that was offered to you.

It was also called Happy Fun Time App and it was apparently some kind of location-based alternative reality game with RPG elements. It was free and it looked interesting so you decided to give it a whirl.

Once it finished installing, you opened the app and waited for the thing to load. A simple menu interface greeted your eyes when it finally loads and you find yourself browsing what looks like some kind of app store. Did app turn out to be a bait and switch thing?

However, you then notice that the app was downloading something as well and before you could stop it, it was finished. A text box then appeared with the following text:

"Thank you for installing the Happy Fun Time App! As thanks, you will receive five hundred Protag Points (500PP) to spend in the Happy Fun Time Store as well as a choice of one of the following Level 2 App for free. You will receive 250PP at the start of a new day. You can get more points by completing quests, obtaining hidden achievements, or just by doing anything sufficient awesome! Now get out there and have a Happy Fun Time! Yours sincerely, Rob."

"Fuck." The app was sent you by ROB. This could either mean trouble is coming your way or something, you don't know. After freaking out a bit, you finally take a look at Happy Fun Stuff Store in the app.

Like the message said, there's 500 points shown at the top left. In the store menu, you see a number of in-game apps that you can purchase with your points. Scrolling down, you see the level 2 apps though most of them are greyed out with a few being available to you. Well, you're here now so you might as well buy some stuff.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

You have 500 PP (Protag Points). You can spend it all or save it for later.

Here's what you can get with your points.

[ ] Money Maker (500PP) - Convert PP into real money. Relative conversion rate is 5PP per USD.

[ ] Godmode (1000PP) - Become invulnerable to all form of harm. Last thirty seconds before locking up until the next day.

[ ] Invisible Me (300PP) - Make the user invisible for five minutes after which the app resets on a new day. Invisibility ends on physical contact. In 50PP after free minutes are used.

[ ] App of Holding (200PP) - Gives the user what is effectively a subdimensional pocket to store stuff inside. Limited space and restrict on item size. Spend PP to permanently increase object size limits and inventory space.

[ ] Hanging Around (500PP) - Makes the user levitate. Has an auto function which activates whenever the user jumps falls from a dangerous height regardless of how much PP you have. 10PP per minute.

[ ] Brightest Night (100PP) – User is able to place a floating ball of light with the phone's camera function which last for five minutes. Limited by user's line of sight. 10PP per use. 100PP to make ball of light explode like a flashbang. 200PP to make balls of light shoot burning lasers at a target for ten seconds before exploding like flashbangs.

[ ] Surprise Taser (300PP) – User can turn the phone into a powerful taser for 50PP per use. Taser is capable of incapacitating an elephant. Uses battery life.

Now choose from one of the following.

Mook Master (1000PP) – Summons a loyal mook for with PP. Mooks follow orders to the best of their abilities. Default mooks are Shocker Combatmen. Not very smart. Easily defeated. Automatically disappears after a few hours. Can purchase different types of mooks with varying PP costs and lifespans.

Magic Eight Ball (2000PP) – The user ask a question and they receive an answer. First question of the day has 100 percent accuracy. Subsequent questions without paying 200PP degrade accuracy by 10-30%.

String Manipulator (1000PP) – Allows the user to perceive and manipulate the red strings of fate. 100PP per use.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Once you finish choosing what get, another message comes up.

"Almost forgot! Here are some more free apps for you which are important." As soon as you finish reading that, two new apps appear on the menu.

Quest Log – Keep Track of all your quests as well as give you new ones!

Countdown to D. Hop – Automatically sends you to another world and does so every 48 hours. Spend points to shorten or extend timer.

You stare at the second app and then a timer appears.

With five seconds left.

"Oh fuck me."

And then you are blinded by a flash of white light.

When you can see again, you find yourself no longer on a train. Just where are you now?

[ ] Standing next to a holographic streetlight in an empty street.

[ ] In a somewhat futuristic city, standing at the entrance of a shopping mall.

[ ] At the counter of a small Japanese restaurant.

[ ] On the trunk of a really big tree in the middle of a city.

OOC: Sup people. This is my first quest on SV. A multicross quest revolving around a mysterious phone app with mechanics similarities to the Dice: The Cube That Changes Everything. Let's see how this goes and hope it goes well.

No idea on what the different settings are and such but I feel like going to the futuristic one first is somewhat smart. If we can get some money from quests, we should be able to buy some nifty things to help us out in the future.

Why do you guys want the Taser? I'm pretty sure we can use our PP for other things. And if we need to, we can easily buy it later.

In case we end up in a fight relatively soon, and haven't had time to develop any combat skills or get other weapon-apps. I'd rather save the points, but I suspect there's a reason we're being offered two weapon choices at the start, and I prefer to be paranoid.

The problem is that we'll be screwed anyway because we don't have the 50PP to power it. <---

We'll have spent all our 500PP.

We get extra PP each day, so as long as we can avoid trouble for a single day, we should be okay. ... Hopefully. Maybe. We're doomed.
I'm thinking we might need to use those PP for other things that might come in handy immediately -- as opposed to waiting for the next day.

...We can buy the Taser right before the next day if we need it, right?
I'm also worried we might run out of battery power for our phone one of these days...

We go to a new dimension every 48 hours. As long as we can getto a modern world and recharge every other world, we should be fine. Probably want to rig up some kind of alternative power-source, if possible, as soon as we can.

You were in a tree, a fairly big tree in the middle of a fair sized plaza set in the center of a city if your eyes aren't deceiving you. For a few seconds, you just sit where you are, trying to wrap your head around what just happened. Okay, first you installed this app which turned out to have come from ROB. You chose a bunch of apps or features and paid for them with what the app calls Protag Points or PP for short. After you finished choosing, the app, Happy Fun Time App, suddenly installed another feature and -

"Right! My phone!" You cried out suddenly. Thankfully your phone was still in your hand and - oh look, a new message and several notifications.

"Hello again, HFS App user! You are now in another world! Good luck and here's your daily 250PP!"

*Ding*

....Okay, now you got 250PP. That means you can use the taser five times or buy that Brightest Night app. That's good...No it isn't! You're in another world!? What the fuck!?

.....

Calm down calm down...breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out.

....

Right, no point getting all crazy about everything. Don't panic. You might not have a physical towel but you always have the towel of your soul with you always.

Time for a situation check. You're up in a tree in some city. You got your clothes, your backpack, notebooks in your bag, pencil case, two bottles of water, your phone charger, and a phone with a magical app on it. Your wallet has fifteen Australian dollars in it and you are still somewhat tired from staying up last night to finish that assignment. You are also hungry.

Oh yeah, notifications.

[You have a new quest! Check your Quest log to accept!]

.....

Huh, your first quest.

What did ROB say? Complete quests to get more PP?

And what about that D Hop app?

Taking a look at your apps again, you find the D Hop app. It's essentially a black screen with a white numbers counting down how much time you've got left in this world before you get sent to another world. Right now, you have a little less than forty-eight hours to go. Well, at least you've got something to do while you wait until you figure out a way to get back home.

Letting out a sigh, you get around to checking what's the quests are all about.

Huh. So these are your quests. Looks like you have to accept them or else you can't do them. They'll probably disappear if you don't accept them so you should keep that in mind when choosing what quests to accept.

Well, at any rate, first thing first. Time to get down from this tree.

After you get your bag off your back.

After some fiddling around, you work out how the App of Holding works.

"Inventory!" The moment you say the word, a inventory screen appears right in front of you. Huh, just like that manwha. Further experiments shows that you have ten slots to put stuff in. Your backpack and its contents count as one object but you can't take anything out of the backpack without taking it out of the inventory first. Interestingly enough, there's also an equip screen detailing.

With a bit of effort on your part and some muscle strain, you manage to climb down the really big tree. On the ground, you look around again. For some reason this place feels familiar but where exactly have you seen this place before.

There are cafes, shops, and a number of teenagers and kids around, most of them wearing school uniforms. Wait, big tree, students, city....

You're at Mahora Academy, the setting of Mahou Sensei Negima.

At least you think you're are...

Walking over to a nearby shop, you take a look through the shop's window. You idly notice your reflection is clearly showing in the glass in front of the black curtains. Looking back at you in the reflection is:

[ ] Write - in

Okay, that's enough looking at yourself so what should you do?

My apology but a programming assignment that's due Friday crept up on me like a creeper so now I have to keep whacking it until it falls over and drops the defined results or explode from broken coding. Sorry. Will try to get something out in the next couple of days....

As long as I don't try and start a new quest set in Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari where you're the knife Hero, an unexpected summoned Hero.

Hopefully I'll get everything done by Thursday night.
