Glass, A Movie Thread

Just saw this and couldn't find a thread, so here we are.

What did you think of the movie? Have you seen Unbreakable or Split? If so, how do you feel about the movies as a trilogy?

I actually liked it! Sure, it's the weakest of the three movies but the other movies are, well, themselves. I thought if they had moved the turning point earlier in the film and given the ending more room to breathe it would have been a lot better.

Mostly, however, I think the movie ends up being a bit of an odd duckling. A sad doomed duckling among a flock of it's beautiful swan siblings.

I saw the movie yesterday, and I'd give it my recommendation. If you liked Unbreakable and Split, you'll like Glass.

If I had to give a critique of the movie, without spoilers, I'd say it suffers a little from having to divide its time between three interesting characters and their accompanying characters. It's not a huge problem in my mind, but it does feel like you didn't get quite enough of each as a result.

Yes, I felt something similar after the movie. It really wanted to give them all something big, something important to say in someway, but with all three of them having to share the run time it didn't feel like we ever got the chance to linger on the moments.

I thought it was pretty lame. The base premise of convincing three very provably superhumans that they're not superhuman was suspect from the start, and the twisit itself doesn't quite make a whole lot of sense.
Why does the Illuminati exist? None of what the three of them can do is all that superhuman. Why police "gods among men" when professionals and experts can do what they do?
I also don't like how they handled the Unbreakable characters, making Elijah an actual mastermind when from the start he was just a smart and lucky kid nobody would suspect. David's powers are also... Flanderized, almost? Like, his weakness to water wasn't an actual kryptonite style weakness, he was just capable of drowining and wasn't a very good swimmer, now all you need to do to stop him is spray him with a spray bottle.

Overall, okay action, lame plot, it almost makes Unbreakable worst, but at least it doesn't have any sequel hooks.
