Hey, what's up everyone? Warmachine375 here and this is my first time making a crossover story between Warhammer Fantasy and Nanatsu no Taizai called "Giant of Sigmar" since this idea never left my head. I decided to go with it and that it is my first take on the Warhammer Fantasy.
Synopsis: "The Serpent's Sin of Envy, Diane finds herself in The Warhammer World after escaping from the kingdom of Liones and evading the Holy Knights' pursuit and ends up running into Magnus the Pious and his army. With no knowledge of the unknown land, she offers her services as a Giant Clan warrior and tags along with them. Now if only those humans stop staring at her Gideon."
Oneshot just in case.
Disclaimer: I do not own Nanatsu no Taizai or Warhammer Fantasy. They respectively belong to Nakaba Suzuki and Studio A-1 Pictures; and Games Workshop and Creative Assembly.
Enjoy and don't forget to review.
Chapter 1
Traveling alone in the vast swathes of Britannia far away from the capital city of Liones Kingdom, there was a 30 feet tall young-looking woman with purple eyes and medium-length pigtails-style brown hair and she wears a full-plate suit of orange heavyweight steel armor with a unique helmet with two axe-shaped horns. If she were born a human, she would be regarded as a 15 year old girl. And she carries a gigantic war hammer designed for a giant. It is as tall as the female Giant knight herself, where its head being double-sided with one side being a typical hammer and the other being a warpick, which also includes a pommel on its other end.
Her name is the Serpent's Sin of Envy, Diane, and she was a member of the Seven Deadly Sins.
Although the entire group composed of the seven strongest Diamond-ranked Holy Knights disbanded after they were framed for the murder of Great Holy Knight Zaratras within the abandoned castle during the National Foundation Festival and end up being ambushed by the entire order of the Holy Knights. Diane had to obey her captain and crush, the Dragon's Sin of Wrath, Meliodas who ordered everyone to escape and split off for now until they regroup sometime later.
She didn't want to abandon Meliodas but held faith that he can handle himself and she was looking forward to their eventual reunion in the future. The Serpent's Sin of Envy easily made her way out of the castle with a help of a silver haired little girl and escaped the capital city unscathed as she bulldozed many Holy Knights and their forces of regular knights and soldiers standing in her way with brute force and her Giant Clan's inherent power,
Creation.
But none of them were really killed because the forces of Liones were just following orders to apprehend the supposed killers of the deceased Zaratras and if the Sins had slaughtered them en masse, it would be seen as proof that they are guilty of the man's murder they were framed. So fleeing and scattering away from the Kingdom of Liones is a much safer option until it's time to reunite and find a way to prove their innocence.
However, Meliodas never told Diane to not rough the Holy Knights around a little and knock them down on their high horse when they thought they could take her down by themselves with greater numbers. She was more than eager to prove them wrong and it was cathartic especially when some of the knights were former conspirators of deceased Holy Knight Gannon who framed her in the first place.
Eventually, the female Giant had arrived at the Forest of White Dreams where it was an ideal place to hide from the Holy Knights and lay low for now until she decides to move out or stay there as long as she likes. Diane even managed to "convince" the Prankster Imps to keep her presence a secret from the outside world and not disturb her or else she will go on a rampage in retaliation.
They were more than happy to comply and they leave her alone.
Sighing underneath her helmet, Diane settled herself before sitting down on the ground to put her Sacred Treasure, War Hammer: Gideon next to her so that she can rest after a long walk from Liones. She took off her helmet to wipe off the sweat from her face with a shake of her head and breathe properly despite the foggy mists around her.
She said to herself with her only company in the form of the Prankster Imps who may be hiding behind several trees and were observing her from a safe distance, "This sucks. The Seven Deadly Sins are disbanded and Captain ordered us to scatter and hide. Even though we could have easily took down the Holy Knights if we wanted to."
But the female Giant knew that Meliodas would be disappointed in her if he found out that she disobeyed his last orders when they eventually reunite. She knew that the Dragon's Sin of Wrath had a knack of finding out one way or another such as that one time when Zaratras discreetly sent the Seven Deadly Sins to handle dangerous missions under the façade of the group being allowed to go for a vacation.
Admittedly, it was a fun vacation for Diane especially at the beach most of all, except that one time where there are lots of giant bugs in the forest which freaked her out into a rampage to wipe them out singlehandedly. Meliodas had to console her and she was happy for it.
"Guess I will go back to Megadozer and resume a life of a mercenary. At least there's something to fall back on after fleeing from Liones. Even though I hated that place...", Diane lamented at the idea of returning to her homeland of the Giant Clan located at the east of Britannia.
After all, the Giant Clan live for battle and were often hired by different human kingdoms across Britannia to provide them the battles to fight. Albeit at the expense in form of the slow decline of their presence and numbers over the centuries. Sometimes they were given with a huge amount of money worth an entire city or giant-sized weapons and armor with enough metal to equip a large battalion of knights as rewards.
So basically, Diane returning to Megadozer with her full-plate suit of armor and Gideon won't raise an eyebrow from her fellow Giants who would be too busy training their Creation powers and bodies to get stronger for their next mercenary job and/or raising and training their children to become warriors like them anyway.
That's the status quo of the Giant Clan in a nutshell.
However, I don't think it will be same without Matrona..., she thought with sadness at the demise of her stern mentor and mother figure after they were tricked and ambushed by the late Holy Knight Gannon who thought that it's a great idea to slay Giants and gain easy rank up and glory from it with his conspirators than taking out savage tribes threatening Liones at the cost of their foolish short lives.
The Giant Clan had different views compared to the humans and often times, they are smarter than they looked, being fully aware of the latter race's devious nature when working for them as powerhouse mercenaries. The former member of the Seven Deadly Sins won't be surprised if her people had saw through her supposed crime of murdering Matrona out of envy, hence her title, and would simply welcome her back home when she returns to Megadozer.
And Diane knew that with Matrona gone, Megadozer has no Warrior Chief to lead the eastern village of the Giant Clan and the council of elder Giants would lead it until they select a worthy candidate. Although she heard rumors of a fellow Giant named Thyrus who is regarded as a hotblooded warrior even by Giant Clan standards with great ambitions and that he wields a pair of explosive gloves gifted to him which worked in conjunction with his unique Creation power to create and control magma from the earth itself befitting his fiery personality.
Along with the fact that he was one of the few candidates competing to replace the late Matrona as the new Warrior Chief.
She also heard that Thyrus is currently working with the Kingdom of Malachia, which was a great ally of Liones for generations.
"Oh well, I better take a nap and get a shut eye.", Diane said as she made a sleeping position on the ground and closed her eyes, letting herself slumber and dream. She tried to dream herself being human sized with her crush Meliodas but for some reason, it often blurs with the appearance of her fellow Sin, the Grizzly's Sin of Sloth, King.
Suddenly, the Prankster Imps noticed a strange phenomenon in form of a rumbling clouds before they saw a lightning bolt from the sky hit Diane's body with a blinding aura shimmered around her as her Sacred Treasure glowed with a fierce golden light as it was empowering it. It temporarily dispelled the foggy mists of the Forest of White Dreams. They tried to warn the Serpent's Sin of Envy about the incoming danger but their cries were unheeded. When the golden light engulfed Diane brightly and disappeared, the Prankster Imps saw nothing left of the female Giant from her sleeping spot.
Not even her armor and warhammer remained too as well.
The Prankster Imps were both relieved and worried at the same time as the foggy mists return to the Forest of White Dreams once more and the thunder clouds disappear from the skies of Britannia as if they were never there in the first place. Relieved that Diane is not going to threaten them anymore and now they can live in peace; and worried where did she go after being struck by lightning.
Somewhere in the Warhammer World, Black Fire Pass
"Oi, boss! Look ova der!"
"It'za Giant!"
"Look at da armour and big hamma!"
"Da Empire humies musta hired a Giant to block our way in da Black Fire Pass!"
"I'd sayz we loot it and krump da Giant too!"
"Den wot you'ze waitin' fer, Boyz? A invitation fer gitz?"
"Roight away, Warboss Worglugg Clawbasha!"
"Alroight den, let'z do dis! WAAAGGHHHHHHH!"
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Enraged by these series of loud voices coming from a tribe of savage human barbarians that apparently found their way into the Forest of White Dreams and her nice sleep had been interrupted, the female Giant woke up with a very irritated look on her face. "I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO NOT TELL ANYONE WHERE I AM AND NOT DISTURB ME OR ELSE I GO ON RAMPAGE!", she yelled as loud as she can, expecting the Prankster Imps to frantically apologize to her and beg for mercy.
Instead, Diane saw a massive horde composed of hundreds of thousands of green-skinned humanoid beasts that are armed to the teeth with various nasty-looking weapons in front of her as they charge towards her direction and they're lead by the biggest of their kind. They were also accompanied by swarms of green-skinned midgets, trolls, large two-legged pig-like creatures with huge jaws, giant spiders, and nasty-looking green-scaled dragons.
And finally, she saw a band of several ugly-looking dimwitted giants with dirty loin cloths and they looked like they were on a poor diet compared to the Giant Clan members who were all bodybuilders due to constant training. And those lumbering boorish brutes wield massive crude clubs or trees as weapons, eager to charge at her and even leered at her much to her disgust.
What the hell is wrong with them? They look like a bunch of dumbasses! I know the Giant Clan live only for battle but they're also intelligent and skilled warriors in their own right! Not acting like a bunch of hooligan savage tribes! How else would we learn how to use Creation?, the former member of the Seven Deadly Sins grimaced at their appearance and attitude. She immediately got up from her sleeping position to pick up Gideon and her helmet to defend herself and the Forest of White Dreams.
Suddenly, Diane realized something is wrong here. She noticed that she was no longer in the Forest of White Dreams anymore and saw the glossy black volcanic glass walls that arise on either side of the road. She believed that volcanic eruptions were responsible of tearing these mountains in two leaving a chasm of lava flanked by glass walls for some reason.
What's going on?! Who are those green monsters?! Where am I?! How am I here?! I have so many questions!, she thought as her eyes widened with surprise.
But with due to the precarious situation she was suddenly in, she will find out her answers later after dealing with this hostile horde.
The Serpent's Sin of Envy immediately put on her Holy Knight's helmet and brandished Gideon, ready for battle against her new enemy in a threatening manner. "I don't know who you ugly green freaks are and I don't care! You ruined my nap and now you're gonna regret it!", she shouted at them.
Instead of being intimidated as expected, Warboss Worglugg Clawbasha and his horde gladly welcomed the challenge and in turn Diane charged against them. She used her running momentum to swing her War Hammer into the ground and shouted,
"Ground Gladius!"
A colossal sharp blade made of the earth rose from the ground and impaled multiple enemies at once, killing them instantly with their blood spilled all over it. But more enemies rushed through the obstacle and continued their assault. The female Giant knight gave a hard left swing of her Gideon and sent numerous Greenskins flying at several directions as they end up impaled by the sharp glass walls and made another hard right swing that smashed through the head of her dumbass Giant brethren who couldn't dodge it, sending him flying and crashing down on the Greenskins with his body that squashed them to death.
The horde remains undeterred in their assault and screamed out their battle-cry, which Diane screamed back at them in turn and continued her attack.
The Second Battle of the Black Fire Pass has begun.
Somewhere in the southern of The Empire, Averland
"Lord Magnus, I carry grave news! An Orc Waaagh has been spotted at the Black Fire Pass!"
Magnus von Bildhofen frowned at such grave news indeed from the messenger who hailed from Averland's garrison that patrols the Black Fire Pass for enemy incursion as he looked over the map of it on the meeting table with his several comrades before him in his war tent. The Black Fire Pass is one of two vital routes through the Black Mountains which has seen many battles, and one of those battles happened to the legendary First Battle of the Black Fire Pass where the long-lasting alliance of Sigmar, the founder and first ruler of The Empire and the High King Kurgan Ironbeard of the Dwarfs had fought there and prevailed.
Damn the Greenskins! It is obvious that they took advantage of the Empire's weakness and decided to strike where we least expect it., he thought as his fists clenched with fury and glared at the map before him.
Ever since he was inspired by the appearance of the Twin-Tailed Comet, Magnus had rallied the people of Nuln under his leadership and purged cultists of Chaos from the city. Then he took his crusade across the fractured Empire where he is driven by his faith in Sigmar, preaching the word of the Heldenhammer and convincing the people of every Imperial Province and their Electors to believe that he was the man who could lead them to victory and reunify the Empire.
So far as a headstart, Magnus managed to convince Reikland, Wissenland, Stirland, Averland and yes, also The Moot as well.
And it was just the beginning.
His army is growing stronger no doubt with many gleaming knights, crazed flagellants, and hardy state troops of the Empire's provinces joining his swelling ranks and he would have to coordinate with his generals to not only organize them into a proper force to be reckoned with faith, steel and gunpowder. Along with ensuring that the logistics and supply with food and arms are protected and maintained at all times. Anyone who joins his side for whatever reason so long they share a common enemy is more than welcome to fight alongside him.
But it won't be enough until he brings Middenland, Talabecland, Ostland, Hochland, Ostemark and Nordland into his side and the dream of a reforged Empire would soon come into fruition. And then Magnus would go to Middenheim where he would seek an audience with Ar-Ulric Kriestov and convince him to see the righteousness of his cause and join him.
Although it is easier said than done when he heard rumors about the Ar-Ulric already decrying him as a charlatan.
Magnus pondered in thought,
Although taking down the Orc Waaagh at the Black Fire Pass like how Sigmar had done when he was a mortal man walking among us would further legitimize my cause of reunification of the Empire as a whole once more. No one would deny it, not even Ar-Ulric himself. He would be a fool to denounce it.
"What are your orders, Lord Magnus?", one of his generals asked even though everyone in the war tent meeting knew the obvious answer and are just waiting for his call to march for battle.
Getting up from his chair, Magnus von Bildhofen loudly declared as he unsheathed his sword with the men and women of The Empire being more than eager to willing to march out to war and follow his will in Sigmar's name.
"Rally the troops, we go to the Black Fire Pass and deal with those Greenskins! If they think they can catch us by surprise while being under threat of Chaos, we will prove those savages wrong!"
Author's Note: Okay then, Chapter 1 of "Giant of Sigmar" is finished and I hope you like it. Diane ends up in the Warhammer World and had to wreak some havoc on the Greenskins' WAAAAGHHHH for interrupting her nap while Magnus the Pious rallies his troops to the Black Fire Pass where they will have an interesting meeting when they get there. By the way, this story takes place during the Great War Against Chaos 200 years before the present era with Karl Franz being the current Emperor in Warhammer Fantasy.
I checked about the Great War Against Chaos in both the wiki and lexicanum, which I know that Chaos is the bigger threat due to Asavar Kul, the 12th Everchosen but I am surprised there were no other threats (Orcs, Beastmen, Skaven and Vampire Counts for example) taking advantage of the conflict. Like what Malekith the Witch-King and his Dark Elves did when they invaded Ulthuan, forcing the High Elves to focus on fighting them off and because of that, they can only send Teclis and his two companions, Finreir and Yrtle to aid Magnus the Pious and help train the first wizards of the Colleges of Magic they established with the man's permission.
Also I know Matrona is alive but Diane didn't know that until Istar arc of the Ten Commandments Saga where they reunite again in the canon. Matrona really should have paid a visit to Liones at some point after recovering from her poison wound to the legs thanks to Zalpa saving her life and becoming an adoptive mother to Sol and Della.
