DA RULEZ
After the initial vote you won't choose what your character does, but what genre takes effect next.
Say if you chose horror. Stuff would happen, then after that you would choose what genre would take effect next.
Each genre has a rating, the more you choose it the higher it's rating becomes. So choosing Sci-fi could give a horror protag a gun. At higher levels this might include superpowers, mechas or even space ships.
Of course the same could even be used against you, so maybe not such a good idea...
The chosen starting genre will play a massive part throughout the quest. So choosing horror may mean there is always something ominous and terrifying happening, if only in the background.
However slice of life on the flip side would place a cap of sorts, preventing things from going too weird.... Up to a point. You could create a magical girl quest for example, where part of the time you deal with regular everyday stuff, then suddenly you're off to save the day.
Being a comedy protag there will of course be plenty of humour, but black comedy is a thing. Comedy doesn't always mean things are 'good' you may wind up the butt of the joke....
Part Quest, Part world building.
