Macy announces in her "We will send a warning and race to Hawaii base as quick as we can." During a time of war it is best they don't take any chances. If this UFO is aligned with the USR and on course for Hawaii Base it is likely not alone in the attack.
"Captain Chan, shall we tell the crew on deck to move inside the ship in order to activate the hyper engine for maximum speed?" First Lieutenant Charles asks.
"Of course, First Lieutenant. Send the signal to evacuate the upper deck and prepare safety guards." Macy replies with missing a beat. She knows how to prepare for an hyper engine operation like all commanding officers in her position.
The Earth Government during the Age of Reconstruction developed multiple ways to travel across the planet from the solar powered oceanic rail system and the aforementioned Hyper Engine. It was developed as a way to lower gas consumption and pollution. Though the engine was infamous for overheating and exploding as a result. Now in modern day the Earth Sphere Alliance developed a safer though slower alternative in the Hyper Engine Lite, while they kept the Hyper Engine for long distant travel and military usage.
Within a few seconds, an alarm goes off around all of the Atlas Valley. The alarm is accompanied by a female announcer, "Hyper Drive activation imminent. Please, move to your assigned locations." The crew respond and begin moving to each of their assigned stations.
The pilots, both Mobile Suit and Fighter pilots, move to the pilot quarters near the hangar. But, as the pilots get into position Aali Arian notices that Sonia Sonic is missing. He pulls Ryan Wilson's arm, "Wait, Sonia is missing."
Ryan rolls his eyes, "Let's check her Sparrow." The two companions run to the row of Sparrow Kais ready to be sent into action at any moment.

A refit of the Earth Force's star Combat aircraft for over forty years. The refit was in response to the sudden invasions from United Space Republic. It is considered a temporary substitute for the aircraft that the NEXT GENERATION project has designed is mass produced. Though this did not stop the majority of the air forces to upgrade their Sparrows into the Kai.
The appearance is near identical to the Sparrow. Like the standard design it is A biplane with a grey steel color scheme though certain squads can customize the color scheme. Though its three 25mm Machine Guns were replaced with a pair Dual 25mm Machine Gun and its Anti-Air Missile Launchers replaced with Anti-MS Missile Launchers.

They climb up onto Sonia's Sparrow Kai and see that she is sleeping in the pilot's sear peaceful unaware of the loud alarm going off. Her blonde hair spread out across the seat. Sonia loves working on her Sparrow and after tinkering with it she goes into a deep sleep. "It feels like I have been babysitting her and Francis for a week now." Ryan bemoans as he opens the cockpit.
"Yet you never say it to either of their faces because you love it." Aali snickers at his superior. The two of theme knew each other before being assigned to XYZ division having taken part in the Air Forces attempt to stop the invading USR forces from landing onto North America. They act like older siblings to the younger pilots alongside Master Sergeant Benson and Ichigo.
Ryan sighs knowing that Aali is right. He grabs Sonia's shoulder and lightly shakes her, "Wake up Sonia. The captain is preparing to activate the Hyper Engine."
After a few shakes Sonia wakes up. She rubs her eyes, "Hello, Senior Wilson. Did I fall asleep while working on lil' Sparrow, again?"
Ryan rushing to get her out, "Yes. Now let's get you out of there." He grabs Sonia's hand. "We are preparing to activate the Hyper Engine and we need to get to our quarters."
Sonia shakes her head as Ryan and Aali help her out of her cockpit. "Oh really?! I can't wait to see what it feels like outside of the simulations. This is exciting." She jumps out and runs to the pilots quarters to get prepared.
Ryan sighs, "There she goes." Aali pats him on the back and together they follow behind the excitable young lady.
A few moments later. It is confirmed that everyone on the Atlas Valley is in position for the the Hyper engine to be activated. Macy contacts the Garman brothers in the engine room. "Mac, Jack are you two ready to activate the engine?"
The two brothers are wearing the appropriate protection gear to handle such a powerful device. They receive the call and double check to make sure everything is ready. Mac gives a thumps up to his older brother and Jak nods. "We are ready, Captain."
Macy looks to her bridge crew. They need to arrive at Hawaii Base as soon as possible. She gives the order with passion, "Activate Hyper Engine! Let soar into the future!"
In the engine room, the two brothers activate the engine in unison. The engine glows purple as it is turned on. The whole ship begins to shake and everyone prepares for the whiplash.
In a second, the Atlas Valley blazes through the sky leaving separating the clouds it soars pass like an arrow splitting an apple.
But...they are noticed by the enemy unit. The pilot notices the speed and grits his teeth. His hatred for not only the Earth military. But, the Earth itself take control of him. With bitter rage, he changes course and charges at the Atlas Valley.
As he closes in on the Atlas Valley, the unidentified unit's main cannon begins to charge its beam cannon. It aims directly at the ship's bridge and he fires.
Chung-Cha Yang notices a beam signature appear on the sensors. She yells to warn the rest, "A beam shot is coming on our left. Prepare for impact!"
Macy's eyes widen, "Turn the ship away from the shot!" Though they don't completely avoid the blast with it grazing the upper deck above the bridge.
The shot shakes the ship even further. Mac and Jak feel it the worst. Mac nearly falls over while Jak burns himself on a pipe. They are unable to keep the Hyper Engine stable and go turn off the engine.
The hyper engine turns off suddenly giving the crew further whiplash. A lot of the younger crew feel the worse of it though those in the Pilot's quarters feel it less due to safety measures.
Back on the bridge Macy unshaken gives commands, "Check on all crew members and find out where that beam came from!" She wonders if it came from the enemy unit. But, a beam cannon made for a unit of that size is unheard of outside of one previous occurrence.
"Airman Basic Yang is hurt. Her body slammed against her station when the Hyper Engine was turned off." Ryu Yamamoto tells Macy while holding onto Chung-Cha's body.
"Get her to the medical bay now!" Macy commands.
Justine speaks up, "We have a visual on the enemy unit now. They are racing towards us!" She sends the visual to the bridge monitor.
The enemy unit is an aircraft-like machine though it looks off. It has a very bulky design with extra width where it isn't needed and the beam cannon on the front of the fighter blocking where the cockpit would normally be. The odd fight has a dark green color scheme.
This baffles the bridge crew. They have never seen anything like it before. Macy looks closer and notices an emblem on its left side. The emblem of the Sixteen Colonies, one of the five members of the United Space Republic. Sixteen Colonies are free roaming colonies located between Earth and Mars. During the First Solar System War it lost a majority of its military forces and were left with barely enough troops to barely form a small militia. Seems like they spent the time since that war to create technology that was thought impossible.
Charles demands action, "Spend out our pilots now! With the long range fire power, we can't escape it."
"I know First Lieutenant. But, we don't know what this unit can even do." Macy responds trying to get her thoughts in order.
"NO! Send in our forces now." Charles demands with even more passion in his voice.
Macy agrees. But, they can't just send all their forces out right away. The Walker II Kai have flight equipment that can help the Sparrow Kai in action though it would take a while. So they could use the Atlas Valley's defenses to fight back against the enemy unit until they are ready or send out the Sparrow Kais first while the Walker II Kais prepare for flight.
