The Ishval War 5: The Great Game.
The Ishval War 5: The Great Game.

-[X]Investigate (The Unknown alchemist): You need to know who the hell is that Alchemist… you need to start digging in the archives… hopefully before they aren't burnt to the ground. 1D100 => 46+40=86

May 6th, 1901

The Alchemist's name was Dante, and from what you learned… she was possibly one of the most dangerous people in Ishval.

They called her… Him… whatever she was really… the Body Taker Alchemist, for the simple fact that she could dominate the soul of a body… and possess a body for a temporary period of time, able to access the memories of the victim before leaving… allowing the survivor to be broken by the information that they never knew she had gained.

She was considered the only alchemist who was able to operate without any sort of supervision, and her funds were near limitless. She was a one-woman anti-terrorist task force. One who had gained much acclaim for stopping numerous terrorist and splinter groups in her long career.

She's also quite possibly the most authoritarian Colonel in the Army… she hates anything that doesn't involve her in control.

Her being in Ishval was a surprise though. Central was thinking of making her a general… but having her here in the field meant one thing… one thing that you still did not know what.

She was looking for something.

Or someone… or she was just following orders and she happened to be in the Area.

It didn't matter… all that mattered was she was here now… And that meant you needed to tread lightly.

Her movements were also shrouded in mystery, an enigma. One day she was in Ishval, another day, she was in Central, giving a rapport… an impossibility. Someone was shrouding her movements and making it confusing to listen to.

It was going to take everything you have to find out something concrete.

Reward: Dante, the Body Taker Alchemist is here in Ishval. Her Mission unknown… but someone is really working hard to keep her movements a secret.

-[X]The Humanitatiran front: There are some doctors… priests, all sorts of people coming to help in Ishval… might as well see what you can do to help. Rolled: 1D100 => 97

It was not a very big caravan of help from the east… but the Easterling helped their own and despite the differences in gods and culture…

Well, you didn't need to know anymore when the first doctors went to the hospital… the schools were built… And life… seemed to return to Normal.

For a moment at least.

Reward: New Actions Available. In Ishval, there is a cessation of violence... Amestrian Troops of the lower ranks, particularly of the Majors and captains, taking command of their units to do what they were meant to do.

Protect the people of Amestris... and all of its citizens.

Even Ishvallans.

-[X]School of the Lion: You trained for a few years as a martial artist… of an Ishvallan School… You think there might be a Teacher around here to help. Rolled: 1D100 => 29

The masters did not meet you…

For what reason, you did not know.

But something told you that it wasn't because they were grateful for helping them in their plight.

Failure.

-[X]Train: Your hand to hand skills are getting Sloppy… you need to practice more… the work at the desk is making you sloppy…1D100 => 62

You had the most important gift an Alchemist could have.

Transmuting without a circle… to do things with a clap, a prayer, and your mind doing a calculation.

So you did one thing that would help you here in Ishval.

Making Pencils. Scrap wood, graphite, steel, rubber.

And then you realized something… You can make such things and use such a thing for fighting. You may not be very good at it… but it can help.

Reward: You practiced, and you have a few ideas on how to use your hand to hand and your alchemy at the same time.

Gain trait: Combat Alchemist (The Generalist: Untrained): You are a practitioner of combat Alchemy, and of a style that is more general, for terrain modification, projectile, and repair. (+15 to combat rolls against all opponent due to having Gateless Alchemy)

-[x]Remember the Gate: What did Truth Say to you when he took your voice? You need to Remember. Rolled:1D100 => 99

Unknown Space, Unknown Time:

The Void was like an infinite witness… nothing could ever describe it… only that it stretched on forever.

You were back… but how? You didn't use human transmutation.

"So you have finally awoken to a semblance of the Truth?" The white body stared at you with a smile on it's face. Shaped close to human… but somehow not, you saw… Truth. "Or is it because you realized that you are connected to this place by more than your own arrogance."

You didn't understand. "I-" You covered your mouth. "I can speak?"

"We dream of things we do not have. Of what we desire… of our guilt and of more… higher callings." Truth replied cryptically.

"I didn't…" That was a lie… in the back of your mind, you decided, that truth was better. "I don't know why I'm here… or what you want?"

"Are you so certain that I want something?" The Truth asked. He then chuckled. "Perhaps your mind wishes you to relive the trauma of me ripping your voice from your body… a nightmare from hell?"

You nodded. The truth hurt… but never maliciously… that you learned being a journalist. It was only the reaction to that Truth that caused someone to be hurt by it.

Accepting it as what it was, no matter how painful was part of the job. Hiding from the nacked facts in front of you was… just that… hiding.

"No… you need my help…" The question was quiet.

But the Answer, more than the smile… allowed you to think you were right.

But Truth only gave a chuckle "Really? You believe I need assistance… or is it you, who needs a mission? To pay a price for something you have lost… like your voice?"

"I-"

"You will know what is desired of the World… but until then."

The air sucked from your lungs. "Only in dreams will you hear the sound you create."

"Do not fail me young seeker of the Truth. For if you fail, it will not just be your life that will be forfeit... but the entire world."
-------

May 15th, 1901, Ishval

You awoke as you reached for the ceiling…

You didn't understand a god damn thing.

But somehow… you knew that it was something far more… Ahead of you. A Journey that would not stop until you finally finished what Truth wanted.

Reward: Soon, your adventure will begin. And the quest for your Voice and the Truth begins.

AN:

Yes, the Arrest Roll not being here is intentional. That clusterfuck deserves a whole update for itself.

Also, the next update will see Central take center stage.

Meanwhile: A Threat from Above
Meanwhile: A Threat from Above

(Bradly POV)

May 13th 1901

You sighed, cracking the table from your fists squeezing them in the anger that burned in your body.

What was occurring in Ishval was… not ideal. Not for you, not for Father… not for the plan that required the blood.

Ten Thousand should have been easy. The abuse suffered by the Ishvallans was palpable, the anger ripe for an explosion that would have set the entire region ablaze, allowing the Circle of Blood to be made… and for other tasks of a more… personal nature by Father to be started. After all, immortal soldiers would be very useful when Amestris was… liberated from the souls, and Father walked the earth as an immortal god.

You were so close for the Circle to be finished.

Then, there were problems… problems that must be dealt with.

But now, that you were alone and without any ears or eyes watching… you could speak to your… annoying brother.

"Envy… why must you continue to wear that indecent outfit?" You growled lowly as the pineapple haired, greenie shape changed, back to the form that he saw himself as… much to your continued annoyance. "What is the point of having an identity prepared for you if you must break character at every opportunity?"

Envy gave a grin. "Oh, what's the matter? I thought you were the all-powerful President of the Country? You can make things disappear with a wave of a hand."

He was trying to get a rise out of you. It would not work. Not now. "Not yet Envy… they have not made things… focused enough for my ascension to be assured. Not with the parliament not voting for emergency powers to be granted to us. But give it a few more hours… and it will."

How envy chose to be so ignorant to such affairs was beyond your comprehension. He just liked manipulation, lies and other things that would be… perfect to destroy people…

It was one thing that made you feel so attached to him. In your own special way. "Hm.. so why am I here than? Wish to boss me around like everyone else in your dammed military?"

Well… that was… not entirely true. "Do you know about Dante?"

That made envy Smirk. "Oh that crazy bitch who found out how to copy my shapeshifting abilities, only it requires using actual bodies instead of transmutation the form around his cells, right? She was fun… until she decided to grow too old and bitter."

"I need you to deliver a message to her. Quietly. There is a nettlesome fly in Ishval that needs to be stamped out."

Envy Laughed. "I still can't believe you haven't killed that kid already. Ailtree isn't it? Why not kill him and be done with it?"

"Because he is a sacrifice candidate." You replied, shattering the table with your hand. "Father will not tolerate his death. We need him out of Ishval… and interfering with our plans."

Your sole eye glowed red in the shadows. "Get it done Envy."

And the other homunculus left.

Good.

Now… That meeting with Arthur Ailtree… You needed him under control.

Arrest Roll: 1D100 => 90- 40 (Johan's Arrival and bribes)=50

May 17th, 1901.

Colonel Dante was sitting before you, tea in hand, as she slowly sipped away. "Sit, she ordered, as her men blocked any entrances and escape routes.

You took a seat. "Perhaps you are wondering why I am here?" She questioned.

Nope… your here to kill me… or silence me, whatever your objective is… but you will not silence me… not with the Truth on my side.

You grabbed a pen and paper and wrote. "Kill me?"

She grinned. "Oh, heavens no… at least, not unless you give me a reason to."

She's angry… possibly because she did not want to be seen by you… at all.

There was a quiet moment before the door opened. "Dante."

And like a shadow of a ghost, Johan Liebert walked in, shotgun in hand. The Barrel pointed at her head. "And you will step away from my Ward… immediately, or this face will be the last thing you see."

The soldiers froze as he did it with gusto… and after all, who would willingly try to shoot the Butcher of Bellview.

But Dante smiled. "And you are here for… a reason? Don't tell me your little job of finding dirty secrets made you soft Johan?"

"Leave, before my patience wears thin."

"Did you ever tell him about what you did in Bellview? How you murdered all those men, women and children?" Dante giggled as she stood. "Cause if he did know… he would kill you right now."

Is… she trying to divide us? Or… has he been lying about his past.

"Soldiers, let the men be… We'll be back, soon enough."

Johan did not lower the gun until they left. "You were an idiot staying in a hotel… did you at least bobby trap your room and dark room, protect the evidence?"

You nodded. How stupid did he think you were?

"Good… We have work to do."

Reward: Johan Libert has joined your investigation. +1 action.

His sheet will be posted tomorrow night.

Joshua/Scar is remaining hidden for now. But he will help soon.

A possible future
A possible future:

When Ed and Alphonse called at the door of the famous reporter Alfred Ailtree, they did not knew what they would find, they had already met him several times, since he was a good friend with the Rockwells, but only for a short time and never after the incident.

After a short while Alfred opened the door and receive them with a warm smile: "Look at you, you have certainly grown... Especially you Al"

Feeling strangely relieved not to suffer again the Pinako treatment, he and Al thanked him politely as he lead them to a comfy living room where fire burned on the chimney

Taking a seat looked at the brothers and looked at them with compassion "I know why you are here, the Rockwells have already told me what happened at that basement, and I knew that at some point you will come looking for my help... It is not widely known that I am an alchemist, and hopefully only a handful of people know that I can transmute without any circles, and I prefer it that way"

Edward looked directly at the fire while saying "Well, the most extraordinary things bout you Mr. Ailtree that you are the only known person who tired human transmutation who actually recovered what he lost when he saw the Gate of Truth... and if that is possible"

"Then it means that we can get our bodies back!!!" Concluded an excited Alphonse.

Alfred smiled at them with sorrow while opening the collar of his shirt, revealing a huge scar "Well, I got my voice back truly, but HE left me this reminder of my foolishness... Unfortunately I don´t think that I can really help you that much with your problem... I only got my voice back because Truth gave me a mission to get back at someone who had slighted him, but the only way of getting that sort of deal is by being in the right place at the right time... I don´t really want to give you false hopes kids, what happened to me can also happen to you, but that is like playing the lottery, while the possibility of winning exists it is extremely unlikely"

Alphonse and Edward looked at him with absolute consternation "We never knew that, We thought that you recovered your body with a Philosopher´s Stone"

"Yeah, that is slightly more likely to happen, I recovered several stones in Ishval, but I gave all of them to Joshua´s Brother, and I doubt that he has any left since he promised to destroy them all... And even if If he still had some of them and he would be willing to lend one of them, I don´t think that you will accept to use them if you knew how they are created"

"Well, thank you very much for that information, Mister Ailtree, you have helped us a lot" Said both brothers as they got up

"A last word of advice lads, that you won´t understand until you know how the Stone is created," Said Grimly "If you find a Philosopher´s Stone use it to recover your bodies... Don´t let your sense of morality fool you, to use it is a mercy"

A new omake @Magoose, If possible I would like another action...

A Study of the Ishvallan Conflict: A perspective of its first days.
Alright lets go. Here's my promised omake @Magoose

AN: Its a high school paper written by young Adam about the first story written by Alfred during his time in Ishval and the what it accomplished in his eyes.

Anybody with an elementary education is Amerstris knows what the Ishvalan Civil War is, the what's, how's, and the whos. The brutality of General Fessler, the heroism and bravery of the many soldiers and officers of eastern command, the adventures and escapades of Ailtree and his merry band of helpers, the many civilians who helped both with his investigation, and who helped with humanitarian projects. And form a modern point of view it's easy to say that everything that happened would have happened, that there was no way the good people of Amestris would let the atrocities of Ishval go unanswered and that good was always destined to triumph over evil.

It is a common misconception that the events leading up to the cessation of the war were simple and straightforward, especially among the young boys and girls of our new generation who although taught from an early age the importance of the conflict and its events, yet they weren't taught the deeper and wider truth of the early days of the conflict. Everybody knows it was Alfred Ailtree and his story "Hundred of Innocent dead on the Streets of Ishval '' that exposed the events of Ishval to the general public.

The story was resounding success commercially selling millions to both domestic and international readers. Any other journalist might have called it a day and congratulated themselves yet to Ailtree it wasn't a success, it was a failure for it failed to achieve the objective he wanted when he sought out to write it in the first place. Ailtree hoped that the story and its contents would inspire the people of Amestris to rally against the actions of the military in Ishval, unfortunately the reactions from Amestris would dash any hopes Ailtree had in the chance that the general public might persuade the government to stop its actions.

The north was preoccupied with Amestris's eternal enemy Drachma and couldn't be bothered to deal or care about any events in the far off eastern deserts of Amestris, The west was similarly unconcerned with what it saw as just another uprising by the Ishvalans that would eventually be put down like all the others before it. The south, similar to the north, was preoccupied with enemy forces constantly skirmishing with them. All these regions and its people both civilian and military didn't have any strong opinions in regards to the events in Ishval, they might have all bought the papers and read the story but just like many people today watch a movie for entertainment many back then read for their, and Ishval was entertainment for them. It's easy for a person in the modern age with the ability of hindsight to declare all those that stood by and showed little care as cowardly or uncaring. But the reality was that the events of Ishval were too far away for people to invest themselves in, too impersonal to impact them in any significant way other than making them aware of the existence of Ishval and its problems.

Yet the story also reached the soldiers and citizens of the eastern region, and here is where Ailtree found the audience he was looking for. To the people of Eastern the events of Ishval were close to home and many citizens probably had at least some interaction with an Ishvalan. The people that were dying weren't just nameless bodies, they were neighbors. And for all that the story resonated with the regular people of the East it resonated especially with the military of Eastern command. Soldiers read and saw the atrocities their comrades were committing and balked at the idea of being asked to do the same. And when the time came and orders were issued for the soldiers of eastern command many refused to obey. Captains and Majors and the men under them refused to carry out the orders. A little cold war started within the army, the number of soldiers within eastern command that had refused to participate in Ishval was large enough that central command could not just simply force or dismiss them lest they suffer a tremendous shortage of officers.

But perhaps the most important impact of the story was the effect it had on Ishvalans themselves. The story had given hope to many that had despaired of never having their voices heard, including the most important person in Ishval the prophet of Ishval Logue Lowe decided to extend protection unto Alfred for the duration of his stay in Ishval. The protection of the most important Ishvalan was unknown to Alfred at the time of its proclamation as he wouldn't meet his protector for some time, yet it was likely that this protection saved Alfred's life, the military had set its sights on him and even detained him but he was later released. And the member of the School of Lion that accompanied him later on undoubtedly did his part to help with future investigations.

Ailtree's first story might not have achieved the aims that its author hoped for but it was undoubtedly the spark that lit the flames of resistance in both the good men and women Eastern command and the people of Ishval. And the fortuitous events that it unleashed would eventually evolve into a series of events that would end the conflict of Ishval and change Amestris forever.

Meanwhile: Inside the Gate
Meanwhile: Inside the Gate:

Unknown Place… and Unknown time.

(??? POV)

You were supposed to be dead.. .the Gate Swallowed you, Gluttony chomped you to bits, destroying your body… You saw your mother again, you clasped her hands and followed the light…

You accepted your fate, a fate that was no worse than the hell you lived in life, from manipulations, from horror… from losing the only people who cared about you… thrown away like garbage.

You wanted to redeem yourself… and in a way you did. Redemption was only found in death.

So here you were… standing in the white void… with a being of energy smiling back. It was like a human… bald, without eyes, without skin… only white teeth… and a smile that filled you with a sense of dread.

But you felt the automail on your arm and leg, moving under your own power, the screws and gears moving… They were undamaged?

That shouldn't be possible… He destroyed them when he killed you.

"Questioning the possibility that your suffering is not over?" The voice stated.

You faced the being. "What is this? A trick?"

"No… merely…. An intervention. An offer to allow you to continue living. And to make up for your past mistakes. To live truly… Isn't that what you wanted?"

The Being continued to smile, but you screamed. "I want to see my mother you son of a bitch!" You then ran forward, trying to strike at this… thing.

The being laughed as you fell through it, falling onto the white void… you did not fall, you did not seem to fall anyway. But you touched something, and you were on your knees.

"Your impotent rage means nothing here. The only reason you have been brought here is the subject of your creation… an anomaly that is even beyond the worlds I hold the power of… every world I've seen… only you exist in one… an absolutely unique being. You are a curiosity."

Confusion ran through your mind, as your eyes rose. "Than what do you want?"

"Equivalency Exchange… What do you believe you are worth?" the Truth asked.

"I'm worth nothing," you stated. "I am dead."

"Your Soul says otherwise." The Truth pointed to your chest. "A gift from your mother."

The Gate behind you appeared… the Death sign from a Tarot Card. "Now… go… live… chose."
---------------------------------------

You awoke as you saw the yard… of the Curtis Butchery.

And in your view, was Izumi Curtis.

"Mother?" You whispered as you collapsed to the ground.

It was a quiet thing… the memorial… you taking photo's are something that made it difficult for those mourning.

The Priests gave their sermons, hoping for peace, and the small detachment of Amestrian soldiers, both the Ishvallan Garrison Battalion and the Amestrian 5th regimental rifles from Eastern Command, who were there to maintain the peace, did nothing to stop them. The gathering was not met in gunfire… but in mourning.

They allowed the people to get home safely.

And it was truly a sight… no more fighting, no more killing.

Reward: You have photos of peace between warning men, and people mourning.

If there is conflict… it won't be from them.

The Following are Interviews done by Johan Liebert, and Alfred Ailtree, between Lieutenant Sylvester Graves, Corporal Joshua Wills, and Master Sargent Graham Carpenter.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Interview 1:

J.L: And tell us, why have you disobeyed the direct orders of the General, who clearly wishes for the crackdown and punishment of the Ishvallan people for the actions on April 9th and among the rioters and troublemakers who have sprung up since the occupation and peacekeeping operations began.

S.G: The orders that we have been given were to become part of the reinforcements of the Ishvallan Garrison who engaged with the rioters on the 9th, since then there have been sporadic, but ultimately small skirmishes with partisans and foreign agents, and mercenaries trying to drum up chaos in the region.

A.A: Have you been reaching out to the Prophet? To request more assistance in quelling any more sessions sentiments among his people?

S.G: Amestrian military Policy when conducting peacekeeping operations is to not allow local governments to interfere with our duties.

J.L: And outside of policy Graves? If you were sticking to policy, General Fessler would have started a bloodbath.

S.G: We were fortunate that the Prophet was able to calm down his citizens and working with the Garrison units to restore order and peace.

A.A: And has General Fessler know of these agreements with your units?

S.G: No. If he did, we would have all been executed for treason, and he would start killing people again.

J.L: Have you been disobeying his orders regularly?

S.G: Patrols, supply distribution, engineering projects, Alchemist protection squads, arrests for obvious crimes? No. But the nighttime raids? The Extrajudicial arrests without evidence, or trials, relocations to internment camps... The killings and executions of innocent… they get lost… Telegram office is notoriously bad… lines always get cut by some trouble makers.

A.A: Do you fear for your life?

S.G: I joined the Army to protect my country and its citizens. Even Ishvallans. Nothing else matters. Even Death.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Interview 2:

A.A: Why have you chosen to keep fighting in the Garrison, when your people have grievances that are Legitimate?

J.W: I may be Ishvallan, but I joined to make a difference, make things better for my people. The Prophet wishes for healing, for the man who killed the child, took his own life in guilt. There is nothing to be gained by fighting each other.

J.L: Even when General Fessler wished for harsher punishments on your people in retaliation for the events on April 9th?

J.W: He's in his right to make such a request… but he knows that he will not need it.

A.A: you would have carried it out?

J.W: If it were legitimate yes… but now… this isn't legitimate. We'd just be committing murder.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

A.A: Were there foreign agents trying to create chaos in the region?

G.C: Yes. Cetran Agents, and Drachma Gunrunners trying to start an armed conflict.

J.L: How many?

G.C: Twenty, but there are probably more. They brought hundreds of thousands of dollars in Drahacman Currency, for paying bribes and getting it laundered in Ishvallan Gold…

A.A: Ishvals gold reserves? I thought it was under State Alchemist Control?

G.C: Don't know about that… but the Gold's been gone for months. Why do you think Fessler's been raging for increased action and raids? His ass is on the line for losing Ishval's gold supply. I don't know about you, but I think it's Cetran Spies.

J.L Who was the Alchemist in charge of maintaining the Gold Reserves?

G.C: I don't know, some alchemist named Dante?

A.A: Thank you for your time.

The Ishval War 7: A Change in the Narrative
The Ishval War 7: A Change in the Narrative

June 1st, 1901, Bailtree, Ishval.

-[X]Investigate (Gun Runners): There are gun runners trying to get arms into the region, to start more trouble for their… Revolution. Rolled:1D100 => 91+45=136

It seems you've stumbled upon quite the conspiracy to start an armed conflict in Ishval. One that is quietly becoming more sinister than you first believed.

On one side, Drachma Arms dealers smuggling illegally made Amestrian firearms, able to use the same ammunition as the domestic forces. So they would not have to worry about to much in the way of resupply, as the repurposing of the limited industry in Ishval was enough to maintain several munitions dumps for several weeks, before becoming heavily reliant on the smugglers for supplies and weaponry to maintain their guerrilla campaign in the countryside and the big cities. The price was, as it turned out, the Gold reserves in Ishval, which while not entirely paid for yet, was enough promise for the arms dealers to risk life and limb. Alchemical Gold, while not as good as natural gold in terms of value… it was enough for the bloodsuckers.

Another was the Mercenaries from Cetra, hotheads who fought for their idealized state, of the people, for the people, and by the people, stirring up what they considered, 'revolutionary Sentiment' in the masses, asking them to send waves after wave of men, women and children, before machine guns, for the sake of a Free Ishval. They were led by a Traitor of Amestris… Frank Archer… The man who committed innumerable war crimes in the Drachma conflicts before you were born.

A man whose crimes were so heinous, that even the Amestrian Military wanted to try him for Crimes against The State, for mass executions of noncombatants during the Drachma conflict. Amestrian Civilians.

The other… possibly the most frightening side of this wanting of conflict, were the Children of Ishval. Before The Events of April 9th, they were just fringe, of angry young and old men who wished to fight for Ishvala and do so with a fanatical devotion to their god, not caring who or what got hurt, for it did not matter. More dead Amestrians pleased their God. For they were their God's chosen children. And they would be greeted by their god with open arms.

It seems they were working in tandem, trying to get the fires of war going…

But one thing did not make sense…

There was… a third party, assisting all three groups, wishing for conflict… but you had no idea who it was.

Reward: The Web is being unfurled… now you need to figure out how they connect.

-[X]Investigate: (Logue Lowe): The Great Sage of Ishvala, the Fifteenth Prophet of Ishval, the Spiritual leader of the whole nation. And an outspoken critic of the Amestrian occupation. What is his story? Rolled:1D100 => 71+25=96

Logue Lowe should have been an enigma. He was born in a small monastery in the middle of the Desert, to two priests… well a priest and a Nun. He was raised from a young age to the priesthood.

He then at 20, received a vision from Ishvala, and used the vision to become the next Prophet of Ishval. He was then acted as the newest and most popular leader for centuries, promoting many reforms in the Religion, and promoted a more… active but peaceful separation from Amestris, either as a special administrative zone, or outright independence…

Which made him many enemies from the more conservative people in his region, but also won him many friends in Parliament… when that was still an institution that was actually in power.

And he was willing to sacrifice everything for his people. On more than one occasion, he was sentenced to prison… but served time and was released on bail…

After the twenty-fifth time… well they stopped throwing him in jail and went after his supporters.

It was a small wonder his calls for peace were not ignored, after such a catastrophe in the city. But his word, as Prophet and as a man was unbreakable.

He was a good man, and his people trusted him completely for answers… and guidance in an uncertain world.

-[X]Interview: (The Prophet): You are in the same town as the Prophet… you need to know Rolled:1D100 => 70+25=95

The following is an interview between Alfred Ailtree and The Ishvallan Prophet Logue Lowe
----------------------------------------------------

A.A: Why have you called Ishval to focus on peaceful means, rather than armed conflict?

L.L: Because I have seen what war does to desperate people. The people will suffer, there will be famine, and if we fully commit, our ideals, however noble they are, will be corrupted. I am merely doing my best so that the noble ideas of Ishval are not hijacked by Extremism.

A.A: There is Extremism?

L.L: Yes. It is only natural after a century of occupation and repression that some consider the alternative to be extremism… but they are a minor voice, one that is not nearly as powerful as your propaganda claims.

A.A: And what about efforts of your independence?

L.L: I hope for it… but I would not wish for my people to risk their lives for it. Ishval is only a place… the Ishvallan's, our god… and the people who live in it are far more important than the land that is our home. Land is only a place… but a people who never give up and remain unified, even in defeat… that is the greatest gift I can give to my people.

A.A: You think yourselves defeated?

L.L In this battle, yes… but in the War, no. We will have our victory soon enough… Ishval will be free. And the world will know that it was not through violence that it occurred… but through simple human decentcy.
---------------------------------------------

Reward: You have interviewed the Prophet… who's nonviolent commitments in the face of armed conflict, and calls for peace, seem more real than ever.
