Could someone give me the cliff notes version of the plot I've never watched this show.
Jump Off the Cliff Notes of the Series:
Nanoha Takamachi is an ordinary eight-year old with some self-esteem issues. She's also Marisa Kirisame, and after she rescues a ferret, she becomes a magical Gundam. This improves her opinion of herself, and she beats up another girl who is trying to find some jewelry for her mother. Her mother actually hates her, because the girl (Fate) is not a perfect clone of her first daughter, and she wants to find a way to resurrect her daughter. The first season ends after the mother dies. Also, Fate has a wolf Familiar named Arf.

The second season involves Nanoha and Fate beating up the bodyguards of a crippled girl (although in fairness, the bodyguards did start it), then killing the protection system of a magical book. Rumors persist of a character named Zafira.

Between the second and third seasons, Nanoha gets shanked and spends a year in rehab, because she's kind of a sissy. Vita has the same thing happen later, says "Fuck it," and beats up a super battleship.

The third season introduces the second- and third-best characters. Also, Jail is insane, not evil.

Meh, pretty sure we can easily murderkill them, but, let's just let things slide. . . For now.

Hurr, you're my servant seems like a bad idea.

Edit: Don't get me wrong. I rather like the idea of bad ending everyone in the most horrific manner possible, but we don't need to kill everything. . . Yet.

Guys. I just feel like pointing out something in case any of you missed it.

Nanoha's giant pink lasers LOOK A LOT LIKE MARISA'S GIANT LASERS.

Now that might not mean that they're equal but... do we want to really risk losing? Hah no. It's friendly times. Who knows what benefits being friends with people who travel the multiverse(?) and may or may not be around the level of Marisa in terms of FIREPOWER EVERYWHERE.

Bah we can get both Vita and Nanoha as sevants.

I'll be honest, I'd consider ourselves extremely lucky if we get any of the BAD guys as servants.

What I'd really want, though, is to get our hands on a Device. Any of them.

Just keeping track.
[X] Restrain yourself
[X] Accept the girl's undying loyalty - Signum seems to outrank her, since she is carrying a pale imitation of your gift! Since you hold the true Laevateinn, that means the girl is your servant!
- [X] Allow your servant to carry you away.

You shake your head as the girl flies off, carrying you with her; she's so close right now, and not knowing why that smell is so familiar is driving you crazy! Still, you are Flandre Scarlet - you have enormous amounts of self-control, and you will not be rude! You also really want to do something about that woman, claiming she has Laevateinn ... but your head is still aching, and it's still sunny, so you aren't sure if you could properly represent yourself. And you're pretty sure that trying to give excuses for losing would make Remilia think less of you - not that you think you would lose, of course! But, if you did, and Remilia asked you about it, you'd have to tell the truth, and she'd probably say something .... Anyway, you decide that properly reprimanding that Signum woman is not important right now, and allow the girl to carry you away.

"Ah, I'm sorry!" You jerk a little, and the girl looks at you. "My name is Flandre - what's your name?" She blinks, then ducks her head and growls.

"It's Vita, Vita! I already told you that, you ...." She trails off, grumbling incomprehensibly. You begin to suspect that she might be somewhat short-tempered. Still, the name is rather appropriate - 'Life,' serving a vampire? You giggle, and she snorts softly. Your headache seems to be getting better, too, although whether it's simply that you're doing something now, or if Vita is doing something to you, you aren't sure.

"Vita ... I like that name. Anyway, Vita, I accept," you say simply, and she glances at you, eyes narrowed.

"'Accept'? Accept what?"

"Why, your undying loyalty as my servant, of course," you say haughtily, and she seems to freeze up for a moment, then her eyes get really narrow and her grip tightens. "You see, I can tell that that Signum woman is a superior of yours, and that is obviously because she has Laevateinn. Now, I'm sure it's entirely not her fault that she's carrying a shoddy replica, or perhaps you people simply haven't seen the true Laevateinn in so long that she received a weapon that people said was Laevateinn, but that sword is not Laevateinn. I know, because I have Laevateinn, and it's the real one. That means, since you're obeying the orders of the person carrying Laevateinn, that you're actually supposed to be following my orders. And that makes you my servant, and since proper servants are loyal beyond death, that means that you are giving me your undying loyalty!" You finish with a flourish - or would, if your hands were free and you were standing, or flying by yourself, but Vita is still holding you, breathing heavily, and ....

"Haaa~. Look, Kid, I take that sort of thing very seriously - I already have a Master, and I'm not leaving her for anyone. After I get you out of this area, we're probably never going to see each other again, so just keep that nonsense to yourself." She sounds tired, you think ... although you are impressed. If she already has a Master she's loyal to, that means she must be a good Servant. You'll have to meet her Master at some point, and convince her to let you keep Vita. One way or another. Or maybe she's someone you could accept as a servant, too - you're fine with a chain!

You see a pack of the metal cylinders pop up from behind a building to your left, and as you're about to point them out to Vita, she curses and pulls up, landing on a rooftop to put you down. You see another pack closing in from the right, and then Vita hops back into the air and you're enclosed in a red pyramid! You hop back, stumbling into the opposite side, and look up at her questioningly.

"Heh, don't worry. I can't fight while carrying you, but they won't be able to break through that before I finish them. You just wait there until I get back," she says to you. "Let's go, Graf Eisen!"

"Jawohl!" Your jaw drops in surprise - that was her hammer! You shake your head; more important than that, though, is that she's already being a proper servant! She's protecting you, even if you're pretty sure you don't need protection. You glance back, and you can see a lot more of the cylinders fighting with Signum. Now that you're paying attention to them, the cylinders don't seem to be particularly dangerous - they seem to be shooting weak bolts of energy, and they have tentacles, but watching the woman tear through them shows that they aren't smart and they're very weak. You shift your attention back to Vita after a few moments. She isn't as graceful as Signum, but she isn't inaccurate - her attacks are precisely placed, and she seems to be using an instantly-created barrier to block the cylinders' attacks if she's already moving to strike, instead of disengaging and dodging. You wonder if Remilia would let her help Meiling with guarding the gate; you're pretty sure the garden isn't getting as much attention as it used to, now that people come to the mansion so often.

Then the remaining cylinders flee, and Vita lands on the roof. She seems tired, but she doesn't drop her guard - which is probably why she's so surprised when you burst through the pyramid to hug her, because you reached her before she noticed you had moved! You hug her with one arm - parasols can be so irritating at times - then you start to pull back. The bright red beam hits Vita first, slamming her shoulder into your chest, but you catch some of it as well, and then the explosion sends both of you hurtling across the rooftop.

You blink and shake your head, then hop up. Your parasol is relatively undamaged, fortunately, but you'll need to change dresses again soon. You see Vita collapsed against the wall on the side of the building and hurry over to her; she's still breathing, at any rate, and you don't see any blood. But what do you do now ...?

[ ] A proper mistress's duty is to look after her servants! Pick up Vita and carry her in the direction she was taking you until you get somewhere safer.

[ ] Someone tried to kill one of your servants! You're pretty sure you know where the attack came from - go there and wipe them out.

I wonder what it's like for Mami inside her Soul Gem? Obviously there is something to pass the time since she hasn't witched out yet.
