AN: Finally got around to making a snippet thread. So, here is my first snippet.
I've really wanted to do a F/SN and Transformers crossover, but I've never managed to get everything set up concretely for it. Also, I had trouble sitting around long enough to get what I'm posting written (I spent most of the last two weeks on the road every day), so apologies for its shortness.
One final thing before the story starts: if I ever did this as a full story, the first chapter would be a flash forward cutting to the events of Arc 2, while everything else would take place a few months prior.
ANYWAY, here's the actual snippet.

Despite his exhaustion, Shirou smiled - the dojo was almost clean. Just a few more minutes and everything would be done.
As he readied to finish the task, though, he felt a vibration coming from his pocket. Sighing, he set down the cleaning equipment and took out his phone.
"What's this about?"
Flipping open his phone, the boy soon received his answer.
Σ: Everything ready for tonight?
SE: Just about - need to finish cleaning Homurahara's archery dojo.
FF: Aren't you cutting things a bit close?
SE: Maybe a little.
MN: C'mon! You have to stop being a doormat!
Shirou furled his brow at that line.
SE: Really, Miko?
MN: I am not taking that back.
AS: Please stop harassing our mutual cousin.
MN: Hmph. Fine.
MN: Not to change the subject, but did you have any close calls with keeping our friends a secret?
SE: A few times with a fellow student, but I think we'll be fine.
FF: Who was that student?
SE: Her name's Rin Tohsaka.
SE: Donny think you'd know her.
FF:….WHAT?!
SE: Huh?
FF: You know Rin Tohsaka?
SE: Wait, you know her?
FF: Yeah. Can we save this until after you get back from cleaning?
SE: Uh, sure.
FF: Thanks. Sorry, this is just a big surprise.
SE: No problem. Just be ready when I get home.
IE: Sure thing, Oni-Chan!
SE: Ilya, please!
"
Ilya certainly hasn't changed, has she?"
Shirou smiled.
"No, Saber - she hasn't."
"Tonight is certainly going to be…oh no."
Shirou straightened.
"What is it?"
"She
is on the move."
"…Oh. Can you keep an eye on her?"
"Yes. If I need more help, I'll call Dr-"
"Yeah, I know. Stay safe."
"Really? I think you are the one who needs protection."
"You get why I mean."
"I do. Good luck, master."
With that, the mental conversation ended. Glancing down at his phone, Shirou saw that his friends had been trying to get his attention and started to get unsettled when he had failed to respond.
SE: Sorry, needed to talk with Elise - NB is on the move.
IE: ….Oh.
SE: Yeah. Getting back to work now. No distractions.
MN: Stay safe!
OM: Good luck.

Ten minutes later, the cleaning was done. Taking one last minute to survey things, Shirou took a deep breath, then started home.
"Saber, how are things going?"
"Not good - she's made her way to the school and…what is she doing - crap!"
The distant sound of two large, metallic objects crashing together filled the air.
"Saber?"
"We've been engaged. Go take the back route outside to school to get home. Well keep her distracted until then."
"Right. Anything else?"
"I've detected three sources of prana at the school. They may be other masters and servants. Please
try to avoid them."
"Of course, I…oh no."
"What? Shirou, what's wrong?"
"I think I found who you were talking about."
Shirou had been about to leave, only to hear the sound of metal clanging. Turning toward its source, he found himself watching as two warriors - one with blue armor and a red spear, the other black armor, a red cape, and a pair of swords - engaged in battle. Somehow, he knew that both were servants. Further back by the one with swords, Shirou could make out a girl with black hair in a Homurahara uniform -
was that Rin?!
Dumbstruck, Shirou stood frozen for a few seconds, unable to comprehend what he was seeing. Once his stupor passed, though, the boy started to back away, only for a snapping sound to fill the air. Freezing, Shirou glanced downwards, and found a broken twig beneath his shoe.
"Oh no."
"Who's there?!"
Shirou froze up in shock again as the blue-armored spearman turned to face him.
"Saber!"
"What-ARGH!"
Shirou recoiled at his servant's scream, which the spearman used as an opening to leap toward him. Before the killing blow could be struck, though, fate intervened on the teen's behalf as a familiar form flew through the air, slamming right into the spearman and sending both hurtling away.
Tohsaka's jaw hit the floor, while the other armored figure - her servant, most likely - had an incredulous look on his face.
Within moments, the blue spearman was back on his feet, as was the one who had collided with him. Standing upright, the familiar figure took one look at her surroundings, then locked eyes with Shirou. Wordlessly, she represented herself so that she was between the boy and the spearman.
"Nice timing, Saber."
"It's nothing, master."
Shirou could hear Tohsaka say something when she heard those words, but aside from sounding confused and oddly adorable, Shirou could not make out what she had stated. Her servant, meanwhile, had taken a battle stance.
"So, who are you?" Asked the spearman - Lancer, most likely.
"Really? You ask that now?"
Before Lancer could reply, though, a feminine and
very angry voice filled the air.
"COME BACK HERE AND DIE!"
"Who was that-"
Rin's question was interrupted by Shirou and Saber tackling her to the ground, and not a moment too soon, for where she had been standing erupted into a purple explosion, to the amazement of Rin's servant and Lancer. The latter started looking for the source of the devastation, but then a look of annoyance filled his face, and soon he had vanished. As for the other figure, his attention was focused on Rin, who was now being carried away by Shirou and Saber as explosions rained around the school.
"WHAT IS GOING ON?!" shouted a shocked and terrified Rin, who would fervently deny that she was blushing because Shirou was carrying her.
Shirou, however, paid her no mind, simply shifting his grip so that he could hold Tohsaka with one hand, freeing the other to pull out his phone. Hastily dialing a number, he put the device to his ear and waited for an answer.
He did not have to wait long.
"Shirou, are you-"
"I'm fine. Where are you?"
"Making my way to the back parking lot. Meet us there."
"Us?"
"We've got guests."
"...I understand. I will move to pick you up. Also, be warned: someone else is making their way to the school."
"An enemy?"
"Not exactly."
"..I'll keep that in mind. See you shortly."
"Stay alive, Shirou."
With that, the line went dead.
"Who were you talking to, Emiya?"
"I'll tell you in a minute. Just let me get you out of here.'
"...Fine."
XxXxX
Fortunately for Shirou and Saber, their assailant appeared to lose interest in them, as eventually the explosions stopped. The quartet remained on guard, but gradually relaxed as they made their way toward their exit, though despite some pestering by Rin, Shirou and Saber refused to offer any explanations toward what exactly was transpiring.
It wasn't long before they were in sight of the road to Shirou's house. Unfortunately, that was when they saw who, exactly, Shirou's acquaintance had been talking about.
"Shirou!"
"Eh, Fuji-new?! What are you doing here?"
While she said nothing, Rin's face conveyed just as much bewilderment as Shirou's. Saber also had a look of concern on her face, while Rin's servant had taken to opportunity to hide.
"When you didn't come home on time, I called your friends to find out where you were. Why do you let Shinji walk all over you?
He is the one who was supposed to clean the dojo.
Not you."
"I know, but-"
"No excuses!" She shouted, stomping her way toward her adoptive younger brother. "And what are you doing out so late with Rin and Elise? I certainly hope it isn't anything ungentlemanly."
"Miss Fujimura," interjected Saber, "Shirou hasn't done anything like that to us. Rather, we-"
A loud honk filled the air, turning everyone's attention up the road Taiga had come from. There, facing toward them, was a silver and purple Nissan, though the exact model eluded everyone except Shirou and Saber, who flinched upon seeing it.
"Hurry up, Drift."
The car honked its horn again, much to Taiga's annoyance. "What do you want?!"
She received another horn blast in response.
"...Jerk!"
Suddenly, the car surged forward, its path putting it on a collision course with the quartet. Shirou and Saber moved to retreat, only to notice that Rin and Taiga had frozen up. They hastily grabbed the shocked duo, but it was unnecessary - just before the car could reach them, another one, this one of Italian make, slammed into it, sending the Nissan rolling. The quartet watched it roll away, then turned back to their savior, whose doors now opened up, with a masked driver gesturing to them. "Hop in," he said. Before they could do just that, though, a familiar voice filled the air.
"Oh, THAT'S IT!"
Having somehow righted itself, the Nissan was facing them once again. But this time, it did not charge.
Instead, it
transformed.
TSCHE-CHU-CHU-CHU-TSCHE
Wheels shifted, doors rotated, and seams split as the car changed shape, until what was once a Nissan was now a bipedal robot with a head resembling a beak, and a pair of swords in its hands. Though, given the voice, perhaps it was more accurate to call the robot a 'her'.
"No more running, organics…and others."
Shirou stared at the female robot for a moment, then glanced at the car of their would-be savior. As soon as he made eye-contact with the driver, they nodded. "Alright," the boy said, "no more running."
After sharing a glance at Saber, who had already taken a fighting stance, Shirou shifted into his own battle stance and held out his arms.
"Trace on."
Within seconds, a katana had materialized in his hands, much to the shock of Rin and Taiga. But that paled in comparison to their reaction as a familiar TSCHE-CHU-CHU-CHU-TSCHE filled the air. Glancing to their left, the pair found that their savior's car had also turned into a robot, albeit this one looking more masculine (somehow) and having an attire that resembled a samurai's armor.
"We will end your corruption here, Terrorcon," said the samurai-robot in a distinctly masculine voice.
His opponent just laughed. "We'll see."
Then, all four fighters charged.

AN: And that's a wrap.
Now, whenever I put up one of these snippets, the first one for each story idea will include an outline of what I would do if this were to ever become a full story. So let's get to that now:
This is nominally the prologue chapter, but I'd probably have it be the second part, with the first part actually being set a few months prior. My idea for the start would be Taiga trying to figure out if Shirou had any surviving family and eventually (likely with her grandfather's help) find that he has two living cousins, with one currently studying in Europe and the other in America. The latter would be the easier one to arrange for Shirou to meet, so she'd do what she could to make things happen and allow Shirou to go see some of his surviving family.
Not a spoiler: since this is a crossover with Transformers Prime, said cousin is Miko.
Sometime after Shirou gets to meet Miko and her friends, circumstances would conspire to have him meet the Autobots.
I'd give Team Prime a few extra members in this story - Drift for sure (he's who I settled on for Shirou's Autobot Partner), as well as Perceptor and (probably) Ironhide.
The story would jump between past and present stuff for the first major arc, as previously stated. The past arc would focus on Shirou interacting with the Autobots until he finally heads back to Fuyuki, while the present arc would take place during the Holy Grail War, which for story reasons would have been delayed by a few months.
I'd pull elements from multiple different Fate works, as well as different Transformers continuities. As for specifics:
Fate works: Stay Night, Apocrypha, Prototype, Strange Fake, Lord El Melloi II Case Files, and Grand Order
Transformers: Prime, Rise of the Beasts, G1 (parts of it), Energon, Robots in Disguise, Cyberverse (maybe), The Last Knight
If I state a lot of stuff that is very obvious, do keep in mind I have no idea how much anyone reading this knows about either setting - this is for the benefit of people who are very familiar with one setting but have no idea about the other.
General Outline of Season 1:
- Mostly Shirou interacting with Miko and Team Prime, would take place after Masters and Students on the Prime side. MECH would eventually find out about him and Magi, but wouldn't be too on the backfoot because they have an associate who is a magus (even right now, I'm flip-flopping on who it would be, but it'd either be Francesca from Strange Fake who is wholly in this for amusement or an original magus who would be a more corrupted version of Wodime from Grand Order - same end goal, much fewer scruples). This is important later on.
- MECH would get much more focus due to trying to investigate magic, since the Decepticons are in the dark there for a while (just work with me here). They'd also be far more active outside of Jasper, being involved in raiding other organizations to acquire additional technology and resources for their plans. The main focus of the MECH arc would be them investigating leads on finding other magi and going after resources outside of the United States so that they could expand their operations worldwide, which leads others to try and eliminate them, including hiring mercenaries to take them out. This would come to a head about three-quarters of the way through season 1, where they learn about a magus who fled Europe to get away from her family, with one of the mercenaries sent to eliminate MECH finding this out and moving to reach the girl first because she will lead MECH to them. The inevitable confrontation would reveal that the girl is Fiore Forvedge from Fate/Apocrypha, since she left her family to live a normal life in this timeline (albeit still keeping in touch with Caules via email, since most Magi are hopeless with technology), while the mercenary turns out to be Sigma from Fate/Strange Fake. The latter would get a subplot dealing with their family, since I wanted to have Maiya Hisau - Kiritsugu's friend and mistress from Fate/Zero and Sigma's mom (he is a child by rape) still alive in this story and have mother and son interact. Maiya has become Shirou's surrogate mother in the meantime, and also acts as a mother figure to Taiga.
- MECH would also have tried to investigate the Einzbern family after finding out about Kiritsugu, and while they wouldn't get too much info, their continuous probing would have resulted in Acht eventually sending someone to intervene. Ilya would have been involved, but I am undecided on if she would have been the one sent to settle things or just stowed away. She'd eventually meet Shirou and Maiya and make peace with them.
- The other cousin mentioned would be Ayaka Sayjou from Prototype. Taiga would have tried to call her and, through events I haven't quite figured out yet, eventually convince her to visit Jasper to say hi to Shirou and Miko. I didn't get that far out in planning this part, forgive how dumb it sounds.
- I planned to have Shirou summon a servant by accident before the events of the grail war (with Avalon being the Catalyst), but it wouldn't be Saber - it's actually Merlin, who gets very uncomfortable about working with giant robots, yet seems strangely accepting of them. This will only get clarified in the season finale.
- Taking a page from the Owl House/TFP crossover Owl House Prime, Energon would be extremely useful for magical research and spells since it is the blood of an alien robot god. Conversely, Dark Energon is extremely deleterious to magic.
- The Season finale would coincide with the S1 finale for Prime, with the awakening of Unicron. This would also explain a bit of the cosmology of the crossover - Unicron would refer to Gaia and Alaya as his 'misbegotten spawn', with the idea being that they 'budded' off of his sleeping consciousness and became their own beings. I am really going to fudge with the lore here, because Gaia and Alaya aren't really sapient as we know it, but the idea of them being alive and absolutely terrified of Unicron waking up (who would be a spectacularly abusive parent) amuses me. Unicron's awakening would raise a lot of alarm bells in the magical community, who don't have any idea what is going on.
- The Reverse Side of the World would still exist, but it would show noticeable signs of damage when Unicron awakens. There'd be one scene during his awakening where giant formations of Dark Energon show up there, causing the phantasmals native to said area to flee in panic. It'd look like a crystal version of the Quintessons bombing the Earth with seeds in Age of Extinction.
- Shirou would experience the dream cycle with Merlin, where he'd see bits of Camelot and the Knights of the Round table. He'd instantly get smitten with Arturia, since canon implies he had love at first sight with her. (side note: for future reference, Arturia = classic Saber, Artoria = Saber Alter, Altria = Saber Lily. That is how I will differentiate them if I do stories where two or more of them show up), He'd get confused at some point, though, because eventually cybertronians would start showing up in the dreams.
- The Terrorcons would get more focus in this story, with the title being used to refer to Unicron's direct minions - essentially the army he had in Transformers Energon. The undead cybertronians would instead be referred to as the Sparkless, after the faction that appeared in the War For Cybertron Trilogy. The main group would be Scourge, Battletrap, and Nightbird from Rise of the Beasts, with allusions to Galvatron and Cyclonus also being members.
- Unicron's awakening would lead to the magic cast attempting to summon another servant to help face him. This would be where Saber shows up, but things would get much crazier than in canon - since Unicron is consistently established as a threat to the Universe, Arturia would be summoned as Grand Saber, with Shirou only getting her command spells just in case they were needed. The dream cycle stuff would also finally get clarified here - during the time of Camelot, Terrorcons under the command of Cyclonus (including the combiner Galvatronus) tried to invade Earth, starting in the British Isles. The efforts to stop them are based off the opening of The Last Knight, with Merlin having to make the same speech he did in that film because the Terrorcons being powered by Dark Energon allowed them to heavily resist Earth's native magics. The Knights of Iacon still exist here, and its revealed that there is an equivalent to the Order of Witwicans (ironically, non-members don't even know the group exists despite Magi being obsessed with their bloodlines, and it's implied Waver is a member, albeit from one of the many random women Merlin slept with since he is a shameless skirt chaser), with Shirou and Miko being members through one of Merlin's illegitimate children. Shirou and Ayaka might also be descendent from a lesser line of the Muramasa family, since Grand Order made it a possibility - need to think on it more.
- The magi of Team Prime and their associates would assist the Autobots and Megatron in reaching Unicron's core, with Saber sacrificing her grand servant status to clear out Unicron's antibodies. She'd still remain, but as a normal servant for the Grail War in Fuyuki (Merlin's summoning would involve interference from either the Thirteen Original Primes or Primus himself to help out the Counter Force).
- The past arc would end with Team Excalibur (the name I decided on for Shirou, Maiya, Ilya, Fiore, Ayaka, and Sigma) going their separate ways but promising to keep in touch, especially since the Decepticons, MECH, and the Terrorcons are still out there. The finale would show Shirou, Saber, Drift, Merlin, and Maiya heading home, with Maiya introducing Saber to Taiga as Elise (a reference to Fate/Zero), Fiore deciding to travel with Ayaka to Europe so she can see her brother again, Ilya heading home to prepare for the Grail War (and making plans to see Shirou, Saber, and Maiya again), and one or two other members I had planned to include but forgot the plots for (they're from Strange Fake, and they'd probably be Tine Chelc and Haruri Borzak) going back to their normal lives - if it was Haruri, she would also have made peace with Shirou and Maiya for Kiritsugu killing her grandfather, a dead apostle (vampire). The epilogue, however, would establish that things are just getting started - Megatron would order Soundwave to start looking up the Magi members of the cast, MECH learning about the Rail Zeppelin incident (which is the main reason I didn't include any El Melloi II Case Files characters here, as they would have been working on that case during the time of the story) and making plans to further investigate the Einzberns, while the Terrorcons are revealed to have received a final set of orders from Unicron before he was sealed - scour the Earth for the magi and wipe out the humans who would oppose him. Scourge focuses his sights on North America, Battletrap heads for Europe, while Nightbird sets a course for Japan.
Need a break now, will expand on this later.
