Fire Emblem 4 - Genealogy of the Holy War (modded)

So, I found this little mod/romhack and decided to give it a go. Not that far into FE4 so not much progress lost by playing a new version so I though 'why not.'

This is my first time trying a SSLP so meh.

Let's Start.

Jungby Castle

Adean: Please Save yourself. I want as many of you to get out of this alive as possible!
Midayle: None of us are going anywhere, my lady. We're here for you till the very end. Even if it means our lives.
Adean: Oh... thank you Midayle. I'm so sorry to put you through all this.

Now to Chalphy Castle

Well, there's the Lord and the Cain.

Sigurd: Verdane's army may be made of barbarians, but it's huge. There are bound to be casualties. I can't get you involved.

Noish: We'd be a disgrace to let out master perish out there all alone. We're going with you. Alec, you're with me on this aren't you?

And there's the Abel
Alec: Those barbarians'll loot the place, kill everybody in sight, then burn it all to the ground. We've got to beat them there and get the villages to strengthen their defenses.
Sigurd: Point well taken, Alec. We mustn't overlook our duty as knights to protect the people.
Alec: Actually, Oifey takes credit for that one. I tell ya, that kid's a strategist in the making.

I have honestly not heard of this kid before
Oifey: I don't want to just sit back and watch the castle, sir.
Sigurd: I don't know, Oifey... You're still pretty young. You think you'll be okay out there?
Oifey: I'm already 14, sir. I know I'm not ready to fight yet, but I can still help you out. Please, let me go with you.

So, objective taking and guarding. ugh.

Noish: It would be too risky not to. We would be finished if we lost out base here to the enemy.

Alec: Because you're strong, reliable... and slow! You're the one, hands down! Hahahaa!
Arden: Hrmph, I can live with the strong and reliable part, but leave the slow bit out of it, ok?

Sorry, the modder made you a Jeigan. But hey, at least you have a lot of good skills and a wide weapon selection so who knows.

So, I start on the far east of this huge map.

4 units. The lord, the Abel and Cain, and the Jeigan. You can see a bit of a village in the upper left corner.

Further west is another village and a church

Even further west is another village. And a bit south of that one is

Another village and another church.

Castle Jungby's to the south of that last village with another village right next to it.

So, there's the map. 4 units, 5 villages, a castle, and a lot of enemies.

Time to go over the changes to the units.

Arden starts out a General and packing a Silver Axe. Those of you who have played Genealogy will notice that the Axe has a lot fewer uses than it should have.

In addition to the Silver Axe and Promotion, Arden now has 3 additional skills and an A Rank in Lances, Axes, and Bows.

In fact, the modder has decided to give everyone Pursuit.

Noish, like everyone else, has gained Pursuit, but has lost his Critical Skill. He has also gained a B-Rank in Lances, and the Continue Skill. He also starts with more Skill, Luck, and Defense.

Alec has stayed mostly the same with the only major difference being that he starts with a Steel Lance in addition to his Iron Sword. He starts with higher Strength, Skill, Defense, and Res.

Sigurd is mostly the same aside from higher skill, speed, and res, and having the Charm Skill.

Anyway, getting sleepy, saved the game and will actually play the chapter in a few hours.

Starting out with the strategy I used in the vanilla version. Sigurd goes up to the village.

Everyone else works their way to Jungby. And with that ends Turn 1.

Gandolf: But I've gotcha now. Die!

Midayle: Grr... Lady Adean, forgive me.
Well, that was one-sided

OK, I must ask anyone who knows: Is DiMaggio really his name? Moving on.

So, gotta get Jungby before I can get the bridge up I guess.

Two new units. Starts conveniently close to a village.

Lex: He'll sure be happy to see us. You just can't stay out of these things, can you, Azel...
Azel: Yeah, but with the Military on engagement to Isaach, Grannvale's completely strapped! Sigurd and the few soldiers left in Chalphy are out here fighting for their lives! I can't just leave them hanging...
Lex: Oh really... I'm not quite buying your story, Azel. What aren't you telling me?

I am gonna keep them apart just because. And also because the manga made me ship other ships.

Yes it is.

First, let's check the differences with Azel.

(Picture was taken after he had already fought a few. I forgot for a few turns)
So, Elfire Tome along with his fire. Gonna stick with his Fire Tome for now.

Having Azel handle the thief mainly because they can steel my money now and I don't wanna risk it.

And this ends up mostly the same as in the vanilla version. Azel has to the speed to double and one-round KO almost everything on this stage.

Moving Lex to act as a meat shield between the fighters and Azel, I now go back to the four Chalphy natives.

Sigurd moves to kill the thief with zero risk to his health and his wallet.

And comes out richer. Must say I like how mounted units can move again after attacking/healing. Useful.

I have my knights kill the one's closest to them and move toward Jungby. And with that, I end Turn 2.

Random Confession: I though Midayle was a she until I read his wiki page.
