No one won the War in Heaven. Titans and Gods alike found themselves as the losers of the war. For their sins they have been broken and enslaved or consumed by each other in a desperate attempt to scrape some worth out of the wreckage.
Even the mortals were not spared from the depravity of the celestials. Devoted men and cynical women all found themselves dragged into the abyss with their immortal masters. Empires that ruled from the desert sands to the golden stars, nothing but fading memories. Wonders that stood stalwart against time, obliterated by the very people who commissioned them. The great truths known by all, now forbidden secrets.
One would wonder if there was any point in this chaos, if there truly was glory to be won in such desolation.
You do not ponder such things.
You do not lothe the devastation brought upon the land.
You relish it.
The foolishness of the celestials granted you the greatest prize in existence.
Freedom.
Freedom from your accursed prison. Freedom from the seven seals that drained you endlessly. Freedom from the thousand chains that bound you. Freedom from the eternal labyrinth that always contorted to your movements.
You were free now. Free to roam as you please. Free to destroy and create to your heart's content. Free to exact righteous vengeance upon those that imprisoned you!
Oh and how righteous the vengeance will be when you rain retribution down on those wretched worms!
Nothing would thrill you more than to devour the souls of those accursed bastards but you cannot. Not yet anyway.
Truth of the matter is that you're too weak to simply engage the celestials in a direct confrontation ...well weak is a strong word. Not in the optimal condition is a far better description of your current state.
Time in that prison has served to alienate you from the domains of reality. even now you can feel that your connections to each sphere have been drastically weakened if not completely severed. It was only through sheer will and complete focus that you were able to keep some lordship over one of the many aspects of creation.
You were able to retain some power over…
[] the violet sphere of gravity: slowness, stagnation, pressure, limitations.
[] the moonlit sphere of dreams: night, secrets, beliefs, precognition.
[] the broken sphere of calamity: death, entropy, ragnarok, renewal.
[] write-in
If you are truly to have the greatest of revenge, if you are to enact the highest form of punishment, then you will have to wait and dedicate your time to regaining your lost might. Only then can you hammer the final nail into the deities' coffins.
Luckily for you, the gods and titans are nothing more than broken shells. The foolish survivors of the war occupy themselves with pathetic struggles for power. Fragile alliances, shattered cults, and pointless wars draw their attention away from your release allowing you to gather power in relative peace.
Still, the universe has changed greatly since you last roamed it. The Divine have had millenniums to pollute your realm with their ...
blessings and wonders. If you were to wander alone then you would be under the constant threat of falling prey to some ancient trap or rogue experiment. Your current situation is not bettered by your separation from reality, for such detachment has rendered omniscience and omnipresence dormant. It seems that you're forced to...
recruit minions. Ugh, the very idea makes you gag. Still, your current state isn't the most ideal for traversing an unknown land, so it'll be far more logical to utilize the current tools provided: the mortals. You'll have to use the mortals as extensions of your will like you were making a cult. It isn't preferred but the situation calls for the establishment of minions, puppets, pawns to be used when you're not around or doubting the safety of something.
Thankfully the heavens have provided you with a beautiful selection of candidates to become your puppets. Hundreds of billions of lost lambs to be used as agents against the gods and titans, to be used as fuel for your rebirth!
For now, you will start small and gather knowledge on the galaxy's current situation. A single pawn, a single puppet, a single prophet is all you need.
They will be the first. They will be the first mark of your return to this broken realm.
Which
fortunate soul did you choose?
[] The Fallen Princess: You chose the heir to the Kingdom of Nothulas: Victoria Guile. Victoria is a young little urchin that lived in relative luxury for the majority of her life. She enjoyed comfort in the royal palace as she stared up into the night sky to watch the ships come and go. She should've paid more attention to her father's activities, maybe then she would've saw the writing on the wall. A shame that such ignorance is now the reason she's forced to roam the streets, constantly looking over her shoulder in fear of being found by the insurgents that killed her family
.
[] The Abandoned Commander: You decided to use the Commander of the 3rd Company of the Risen Spear: Scarlet. A proven warrior, Scarlet takes immense pleasure in her martial prowess and gung-ho attitude. Always looking for a challenge, she learned the price of overconfidence when she led her fleet to its doom in the dark regions of space. Now she roams through the broken remains of her ship on a planet unknown to all.
[] The Frighten Scoundrel: You chose Veran, the courier for the Karmas. Being a courier is perfect for a nimble pathetic shut-in like Veran, for all he had to do was take an object from point A to point B. Easy to do when you know the underdark like the back of your clockwork hand. He expected his next delivery to be no different from the others, he was most surprised to find an Inquisitor waiting for him at the drop zone.
[] The Lonely Scientist: You chose Louie, a junior scientist for some research institution that calls itself the S.R.F. Apparently they contain and research "strange phenomena" at this institution...which would explain why Louie is about to become mincemeat. You think they would've learned by now.
If you are going to manipulate the mortals then you will need to actually communicate and interact with them. You'll need something to serve as your main voice and face, a body to be directly under your control. A disguise to be donned till you're ready to announce your return to the heavens.
What disguise do you design?
[] An item: You'll masquerade as an item that the puppet will undoubtedly use. Being a possession will make you harder to detect due to an unassuming appearance, and you can directly influence and manipulate your puppet without much interference. However, you cannot physically act alone and must be with your charge to help them.
- [] Type of item (picture is optional)
[] A body: You'll roam the world alongside your puppet as another mortal. Having a body of your own will allow you to take a more direct stance on the world around you, and you'll be able to act without requiring your pawn. The major risk is how easy you can be separated from your puppet.
- [] Appearance (picture is optional)
