Fate/Stay Royal

Krika's Grand Information Recording
Due to the Great War being invoked in insufficient spiritual lands, certain Master Privileges have been revoked. You will have to keep track of Servant Stats on your own, you can only see the status of Servants that you can see right now.

I'm sure people remember this line right? Right.

Also can someone try and gather every info we have on Mordred for now. Like an information Matrix?

You know for future reference.

Well, one person did.

Let's get out an old-fashioned notepad and start taking notes. If necessary, explanations will be noted in italics. Descriptions are sourced from this thread (obviously) or the wiki (because I'm lazy - better descriptions will be found as I find time and motivation - maybe I'll steal the short descriptions from GO mats). Canonical Noble Phantasms will be abbreviated as necessary, as I have no desire to bloat this with more than a paragraph per listing when ya'll can look up the full thing.

Updated through "Just Ramen".

Servant of White

Identity: Mordred, "Witch-Knight of Ravages"
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Master: Bazett Fraga McRemitz

Strength: C+
Endurance: ???
Agility: A
Mana: A
Luck: B > C > D > C (cursed by her catalyst, capable of being raised in combat through unknown means)
NP: ???

Class Skills:
Boundary Interference (A): A corruption of the Territory Creation skill possessed by Servants who specialize in invasion. The ability to pierce a barrier and deconstruct it with ruthless efficiency. At A Rank, even the sacred realm of Avalon can be pierced and destruction rent upon it. Since the barrier is interfered with on a fundamental level, this skill can be said to be the bane of a Magus' Atelier.
Item Construction (C): The Skill to manufacture magical items, from implements of war to items for daily use. Also, this skill requires time to gather components and manufacture items. In Caster's case, since her abilities are druidic in nature, she possess exceptional ability to create concoctions and other magical potions, but her ability to make magical items is fairly average.

Personal Skills:
Charisma (D): A rare talent that consists of a composite of a person's general likeability as well as their ability to command others. The morale of military forces she commands is high, but this comes and the expense of their combat ability. Since she possesses a force of will that attracts others to her, it is difficult to disagree with Caster.
Magical Burst (A): The ability to increase performance by infusing one's weapons and body with Magical Energy and instantly expelling it. Simply put, recreating the effect of a jet burst by expending large amounts of Magical Energy. At Rank A, even a stick can become a weapon of great power. A normal weapon that is not on the level of a divine Mystery can be destroyed in one blow. Can also raise one's defense several times over.
Tempest Magus (B): A unique skill that evolved from Instinct. The ability to dictate the flow of battle, much like a raging tempest dictates the flow of the surrounding land. While Instinct is a sixth sense that allows one to detect how the battle will proceed, this evolution provides a further feeling to elicit how the battle should proceed. Simply put, it is the supernatural ability to predict and dictate the course of battle like a raging hurricane. There is a side effect that is related to the magecraft employed by the user, but this magic seems to be considered a state secret. At B Rank, there is no regard for collateral damage. As a bonus effect, the penalties for lacking senses are halved.
Will to Prevail (B+): ??? As a side effect, the owner's Luck parameter takes a huge penalty.

Noble Phantasm(s):
Clarent Marmyadose( Infernal Ravages of Ruin) (A+, Anti-Country): Inheritance/Corruption Phantasm. The original rank would be A++. At current, it is merely A+ due to being stolen. The cracked and damaged sword Marmyadose, stolen from the treasury of King Arthur, was repaired by filling the central portion that had been damaged with Clarent. As a result, the normal inferno blade has been magnified. Normally, deploying it would be impossible in this state, but since Mordred has a strong association with the Three Ravages, it has been granted the ability to cast a hellish flame that can be called the opposite of Excalibur's light. At least, that is what Mordred claims, but the nature of the Noble Phantasm doesn't appear to have changed that much.

??? (B+, Barrier): ???

Miscellaneous:
Weak to Illusion magic
Elementalism: The ability to cast magic by invoking elemental faeries. Since it is based in abilities from the bloodline, it's not possible to teach or learn unless you already have the talent.
Summoned by the grail to oppose Zero Saber( Gilgamesh)
Professes to not be human.
Invisible Air( Tempest of the Witch King) (C, Barrier): A magic spell taught to a certain King by the court wizard. Its original purpose was to hide the identity of the sacred sword, but it also possesses strong defensive properties. In the case of Caster, who has no reason to hide her armaments, it sees its use in this defensive form. The body is encased in a tempest that shrugs off most attacks and cuts those that come near. Technically, its original purpose can also be used, but Caster seems to think it's a waste of effort.
Looks identical to Lancer of Red( King Arthur) .
Dislikes the title "Witch of the Pale Lilies"

Personal Skills:
Familiar (Wolves) (D): A magical talent for deploying wolves as familiars. They serve as both eyes and ears in scouting and have varied uses in combat.
Rune Magic (B): Exact effects unknown
Uncrowned Arms Mastery: A rare skill for the use of weapons not acknowledged in life. In Lancer's case, his spearmanship was not actually recorded in myth. As a result, his ranks in combat abilities appear to only be of averaging level until his identity is revealed, and his skill in Runic Magic is hidden entirely.

Noble Phantasm(s):
Blath Draioct Dearg( Shame of Ulain) (B, ???): A spear given to Lancer by Aife, his mother and teacher. Allows him to paint runes at a distance and acts as a "tuning fork" for his magic. For unknown reasons, it bears a remarkable similarity to Gae Bolg.
Fainne Draiocht Conla( The Hidden and the Unknown) (B, Anti-Unit (self)): Hidden treasure. A ring born by Conla that is the only mark of his identity. The true Noble Phantasm is not the ring itself, but the geas binding Conla, which hides his identity and curses him to anonymity. While the curse is active, his abilities are displayed incorrectly. Since he is under a geas, his parameters enjoy a significant boost, whoever this also prevents his identification by a Master and he is immune to the targeting effects of spells that require a name whilst he is hidden.

Miscellaneous:
Conla may not give his name. Conla may not refuse a challenge. Conla must fight until he dies. Conla must fight as many foes as possible. Conla may only fight using equivalent forces of arms.

Personal Skills:
Divinity (B): The divinity of the Son of Lugh. As a result, Rider is considered a solar deity. In addition to the ability to activate purge defense, a bonus effect is granted. As rider, this manifests as a potential second mount, however the adult version elects not to take this bonus at all. In a sense, the young version is the only one truly in touch with his own Divinity, for as an adult, it's become another obstacle to overcome.
Martial Arts of the Land of Shadows (A+): Knowledge of the combat arts of the Land of Shadows. The training of Scathatch has already begun to temper the mind and body into a weapon that would allow Rider to one day claim the name Cu Chulainn. Depending on whether he is a young man or an adult, the end result is that he bears this skill, or it transmogrifies into the Noble Phantasm, Gae Bolg. For Rider, this skill has reached it's zenith. Unhindered by class restrictions, Setanta can freely display all of the martial arts training he accrued from the Land of Shadows, however, for obvious reasons, he is missing all the Noble Phantasms that would normally be associated with the name Cu Chulainn. It can be said that Rider is both the best and worst class for Setanta to materialize as for this reason.
Rune Magic (???): Hypothetical skill, as Rider has displayed at least some proficiency in Runes, which would not fit under any of his known skills.

Noble Phantasms:
Failinis( Solar Light that Shoots through the Forest) (Rank B, Familiar): The hound of Lugh. In the case of Rider, it is on loan due to his divinity score. It is said that the hound of Lugh displays dominion over all beasts and can turn water into wine, but these feats seem highly exaggerated. At least, that's what Riders says. Since Failinis laughs the entire time he says this, at least some of it is probably incorrect.

Fragarach( Wind Whisperer) (B+, Anti-Unit): Another function of the Answerer. This one is used by the Hound of Ulster while the blade is on loan. A tempest summoning sword that roars when swung. As a side effect, those who speak within the din of the tempest cannot lie.

Gae Bolg( Last Tears That Birth The Great Hero) (???, ???): Can only be invoked once by Rider of Black. An acknowledgement of the hero he would become, leaving behind the life he currently inhabits. Whether this simply alters his Spirit Origin to another shape or destroys it in trying is unknown.

Geas of the Hound( Valiant Warrior's Oaths) (A+, Anti-Unit (self)): The oaths of the Hound of Ulster. A great source of physical and spiritual strength. It is said that there are over one hundred in total. So long as an oath made with the Hound is kept, the physical parameters and spiritual being are enhanced. However, if the oaths are broken, then the status rapidly declines. In the case of Setanta, who took and gave many oaths, this Noble Phantasm can be used to gain great strength he was not summoned with, and grant that strength to others. The strength given by the oath is corresponding to the difficulty of breaking it. At the time his elder self died, this Noble Phantasm had been lost, as most of his oaths had been knowingly or unknowingly violated, and as a result, his future self's personal status is unusually low for Ireland's greatest hero.

Miscellaneous:
Allied with Caster of Red( Jack the Ripper)
Doesn't have his full adult experience with his unarmed fighting style, nor is it fully adapted for his shorter height.

Caster of White( Mordred) matches the description as being similar in some capacity to Laevatainn( Sword like Sun, Become a Calamity) .

Personal Skills:
Independent Manifestation (C): A skill gained through the combination of Perfect Shape and Independent Action. The body remains in the world indefinitely, and additional energy is requisitioned form the surrounding area as necessary. The body returns to it's default state without any consideration from the Servant.
Perfect Transfiguration (A): A skill mutated from Transfiguration. By draining magical energy from the surrounding lands, the parameters can be freely set for the body. However, unlike normal Transfiguration, there is a mandatory Mana rank. It seems there is another effect, but what it is remains hidden.
Presence Detection (A > D): Implicit reason for the reduced rank is due to the lack of mana in the land.

Noble Phantasm(s):
End of Babylon( The Genocide of the People) (A++, Anti-Humanity): Allows Archer to mimic the shape and concepts of high-end Noble Phantasms via some method.

Dual Class: Possession of the qualifications of two classes. Unlike the cheat skill Double Class, in which two aspects of the same Servant are called forth simultaneously, in this case, the Aspects of Caster and Assassin, drawing from the same anecdote, have become inseparable. As a result, the Servant summoned is simultaneously Caster and Assassin. A rare skill possessed by a rarer still kind of Servant. In this case, perhaps it is because the aspect of Assassin was embedded so thoroughly in his forging qualifications that separating them had become impossible.

Class Skills:
Item Construction (E): The ability to create magical items and potions. In the case of Caster of Red, the level is definitely the very lowest possible for a Caster. She can make things, though the method of how she does so tends towards the nonsensical. Indeed, perhaps it is the fact that her true identity was completely unknown that allows her to make such a large variety of things, but their quality as Mystic Armament is very low.
Territory Creation (C): Exact effects unknown, however it is capable of chaining up Rider of Red's( Herakles') Cerberus( The Hound of Hell) and preventing it from being resummoned as long as Caster is present.

Personal Skills:
Hidden Shell (C-): The body does not appear to be that of a Servant, and as a result, detection becomes very difficult. In the cast of Caster of Red, there is a condition upon this skill. Namely, it only functions during the daytime. Thanks to this, she can hide at any time during the day, though if she starts exercising her abilities as a Servant, then her presence immediately escalates. A subspecies skill of Presence Concealment, however one that is considered an embarrassment to have, as there is no chance of a surprise attack.
Magus Killer (C++): The ability to slay a Magus. An ability of the Caster version of Jack the Ripper, as an unknown sorceress that hunted female magi for an unknown reason. The rank suddenly increases if the opponent is female and it becomes nighttime, however against most magi the mysteries that they rely on for defense becomes things to be defeated. As a side-effect, Caster's problem solving skills are unusually exceptional, even if she cannot explain her logic.
Surgery (E): ???

Noble Phantasms:
The Mist (C+, Barrier): Barrier Phantasm. The wild, smog-filled, and winding streets of smoky London. Normally, there is an effect to constrict the lungs, but that effect is relegated to Assassin's version of this Noble Phantasm. The local area turns into a labyrinthine maze, and the targets begin to wander in circles. Since the Noble Phantasm's main target is females, it becomes very difficult for them to escape without outside help. However, on the flips side, they are also separated from their companions.
From Hell( Murderer of the Misty Nights) (C++, Anti-Unit): The secondary function of the Mist. Within the Mist is Jack. No matter where Jack originally was, her location can be immediately transferred to within the Mist. A Noble Phantasm akin to cheating, the reality is no one knows where Jack really is. As a side effect, the first attack is always to the organs, and is always a surprise attack. Against a female target at night, it is also fatal. However, deployment in this fashion is difficult due to the preparation involved.

Noble Phantasm(s):
Cerberus( The Hound of Hell) (B+, Familiar): The beast that guards the underworld in Greek myth. Since it is a beast of death, it does not die when it receives mortal wounds and has no concerns for things such as mortality. Since its eyes are golden, it must retain some level of 'Authority'.

Godhand( The Twelve Labors) (???, ???): A curse on the body to always survive what last killed it. Has lives related to the Twelve Labors. One life has been confirmed to have been lost.

Marmyadose (???, ???): Fiery sword-staff. Unknown effects, Rider bears the original version.

??? (???, ???): A mount of Rider's, a great mare. Presumed to be the Mares of Diomedes.

??? (???, ???): Hydra venom arrows. Appears to need to be produced manually by some means, and thus Rider has an effectively limited stock in any given engagement.

Personal Skills:
Discernment of the Poor (A): Insight that sees through others' personality and attribute. He can't be deceived by verbal excuses and deceptions. It displays the power to grasp others' nature, which Karna got because his status as a man with no family blessed him with the opportunity to question the lives and the worth of the weak.
Divinity (E): Normally, as a son of Surya, Saber would enjoy the highest aptitude of Divinity. However, in his Alter state, the Divinity is discarded in exchange for the weapon of the Guru. As a bonus effect, Saber enjoys a bonus against opposing Sun Divinities.
Kalaripyattu (A+): An ancient Indian martial art, said to be the birthplace of all martial arts that are based on rational thought. Since it is highly defensive, it is most appropriate for feeling out the opponent. In Saber's case, his mastery of it is actually greater than his skill with his summoned weapon, so he uses it as his primary means of fighting.
Magical Burst (Corrosion) (A): ???

Noble Phantasm(s):
Brahmastra Kundala( O' Brahma, Curse Me) (A+, Anti-Country): Karna's hidden Noble Phantasm. His trump card. The projectile weapon Brahmastra is bestowed with the sweltering heat effect of Karna's attribute and then fired. The Brahmastra, which already had a wide effective range to begin with, has its effective range further widened and its power exceptionally raised. Its performance is to the point of being compared to nuclear weapons. The rank and scale of this Noble Phantasm remain unconfirmed. It is tentatively marked at where it rests for this Servant's Lancer incarnation, who uses it with his spear, but as Saber likely channels it through his fists instead of a projectile, it is possible that the specifics could be altered by this.

Kavacha and Kundala (C, Anti-Unit): Fearing becoming an unmarried mother, Karna's mother, Kunti, for the sake of protecting her son, begged Surya for protection and was bestowed golden armor and an earring. Emitting the radiance of the sun, the armor is a strong defensive Noble Phantasm. As it is an existence formed from light even gods find it difficult to destroy. It has become one with Karna's body. Would normally be an A-rank Noble Phantasm, but manifests here at a lower rank for an unknown reason.

Nagastra( O Nagas, Devour Me) (B, Anti-Unit): Demonic Treasure. A divine weapon handed down by the Naga of Hindu myth. The delivery method in the case of Saber of Red is his fists. A torrent of serpents who have imbibed the accurse poison are launched at the enemy. It is considered one of the signature Astra of the hero, Karna( Alter) . Since Saber of Red is not actually a proper swordsman, his fists and this Noble Phantasm see use as his main weapon. The poison is lethal, as a matter of course, and dissolves the insides like acid. This is also the source of Saber of Red's Magical Burst (Corrosion) ability. Since it's magical energy cost is relatively efficient, he can use it even when he has to conserve energy.

Divided Hatred (EX): So long as the grudges of old persist, the bodies will continue to rise. As the bodies deplete, the main body will begin to realize the futility of its hate. A divide and multiply skill that usually would be rendered as a Noble Phantasm, however, since the body cannot sustain a large amount of magical energy, the number of bodies is limited by other factors.
Sin of Murder (A): The ability to annihilate human beings. Against humans, victory is an eventual certainty. However, since the skill makes no claim to the speed or probability, due to Avenger's own temperament, it often takes such an extreme long time that being guaranteed to win becomes pointless, since the prey escapes. Perhaps the adage of wait and hope was not so foolish.

Miscellaneous:

Avenger (D): The accumulation of all the hatred and grudges of the world into a single body. The advent of ones existence as an aspect of "All the World's Evils". In this state, hatred and grudges have accumulated, however, there is no rhyme or reason as to why. It becomes easier for grudges and hate to grow in the local vicinity, but at the same time, the power of those in the vicinity also grow.
Lament of the Sorrowful (B): The sobs and tears of the remorseful and the sorrowful. A skill that allows for the general attack on the moon of those in the surrounding area. Charism a of B or less are negated in its vicinity. Since it is a mental attack that obliterates the mental fortitude of those surrounding, it is difficult to combat it.
Pankration (B): DATA HIGH ERROR. SKILL NOT FOUND
Rite of Exorcism (D++): Specialized Church Magecraft form. For Caster, it is a substitute for the arcanities normally found within the class. Since Church Magic is a truly rare phenomenon, it is likely that some measure of Fey arcanity has been merged with the Church forms to boost their power at repelling spirits. However, since the power has been boosted so high, sudden sublimation of the spirit being targeted has been known to occur.

Noble Phantasm(s):
Knight of Owner( A Knight Does Not Die With Empty Hands) (A++, Anti-Unit): Hypothetical Noble Phantasm, given Caster of Curses' identity and their description as provided by Caster of Red( Jack the Ripper) .

Miscellaneous:
Described by Caster of Red( Jack the Ripper) as "A knight in black who owns all he can hold. His sword is a great silver blade and he cleaves evil in two. That is the fourth Caster. He lives but is not alive. He fights and cries every step of the way."
An aspect summoned by Avenger to reenact the events of the previous War, and thus not a proper Servant.
Possesses Black Keys: An Exorcism Armament possessed by the Church. Against spiritual bodies, they possess an unusual level of effectiveness. In the case of Lancelot, his ability to use them is derived from a faith held late in life. As a result, their effectiveness is low on enemies designated as 'Monsters', but high on spirits and revenants.

Divinity (B (A+)): Gilgamesh's original value as a 2/3 demigod. He possesses the highest level of Divinity among many of the Heroic Spirits. However, he despises the gods because they killed his friend Enkidu, unleashed the Bull of Heaven onto the earth, and caused him much trouble. As a result, his Divinity decreased.
Golden Rule (A): Being fated a life that is filled with riches, he can live as a millionaire. Gilgamesh lives the life of a nabob and has no money troubles for the entirety of his life. In the legend, he claimed all the world's treasures as his own and is said to have infinite wealth in his Golden Capital. The originals of Noble Phantasms preserved in his treasury were collected during this period. Although this ability seems unrelated to battle, it plays a great role in arming Gilgamesh.

Noble Phantasm(s):
Enuma Elish( The Star of Creation That Split Heaven and Earth) (EX, Anti-World): The sword that cuts and divides the World, with output matching or even exceeds Artoria's Excalibur. Its power will further increase given the support of Noble Phantasms within Gate of Babylon. More correctly speaking, "Sword of Rupture – Ea" is the Noble Phantasm, "Enuma Elish" is the state under which Sword of Rupture – Ea unleashes its maximum output. By generating wind pressure strata, the attack crushes the enemies by simulating spatial rends. In addition, the names "Sword of Rupture – Ea" and "Enuma Elish" are all given by Gilgamesh. They are thought to be references to the Great God Ea (Enki) of the Mesopotamian and Babylonian myths, and the Genesis Epic of the Babylonian myth, Enuma Elish.

Sha Naqba Imuru( The Omnipresent and Omnipotent Star of Knowledge) (EX > B, Anti-Unit): Hero King Gilgamesh's mentality, which reaches every corner of the world like the radiance of the stars and sees through all of creation, sublimated into a Noble Phantasm. A Noble Phantasm of the Constantly Invoked-Type. Not to mention an opponent's True Name and Noble Phantasm(s), it can definitely see even a truth hidden underneath multiple layers without obstruction and with a single glance. Although it is in a state where it seems to be constantly invoked, one can also assume from appearances that some parts of the Noble Phantasm's ability are being intentionally limited. If its True Name is released, it will operate as "instructions" for Gilgamesh to guide himself and others with the most optimum tactics according to the situation presented to him, simultaneously increasing the offensive power and defensive power of his whole team near his own position. It is unknown why this ability has been ranked-down, nor what effects this has on it's performance. The description given is for the version at full strength and will be revised when further detail becomes available.

MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION

Rhongomyniad( World Piercing Nail of Light) (???, Anti-World): A Noble Phantasm used by a Lancer in the previous war. Called a "sacred nail" by Caster of White( Mordred) , can be mimicked by Archer of Red.
While Caster of White( Mordred) considers it merely an academic curiosity, she thinks another "nail" is present in the Great War.
During the confrontation between Saber of Red( Karna Alter) and Saber of Black, an A-ranked effect drew the bystanders and uninvolved away from the path of the battlefield, by means that caused emergency services to not respond to the rather obvious fight.
The Gouging Sword of the War God: Fragarach( That Which Strikes Last Cuts First) (A, Anti-Unit): Anti-Causality Sword. The last answer of Lugh. That which is drawn last cuts first. Time is rewritten and the enemy is slain before the deployment of their trump card. One of the Gods-Holder weapons in the modern age, it's a mystery is hidden in Bazett's blood.
Caster of Red( Jack the Ripper) claims that at last one Servant in the war can pretend to be a class other than what they are. No Servant aside from possibly Archer of Red has demonstrated abilities that would allow this, so the one she is referring to remains unfortunately unknown.

Oh, and it might be worth seeing what they're willing to tell us about Kirei, if they know anything. If they don't, we should make sure they know he's betrayer and a bastard. Like not immediately something to bring up, but if we get some decent information throw it in for free, and even if we don't we should pass it on. It's very important to fuck him over as hard as possible.

Well, Setanta and Jack at the very least have fought and driven off Hercules, who at this point seems like a loose cannon threat to everyone, so sharing the information around on him could be swung as a mutually beneficial agreement.

We also know this isn't their original house, so they might be able to tell us what happened such that Rin isn't here anymore.

Setanta also seems to have met and implied knowledge about Lancer of Black, so we could maybe get information about him as well - this could combo decently with what Unmaker above notes about Kirei.

If nothing else, we have no reason not to tell them everything we know about Lancer of Black and Gilgamesh, right?

Jack and Black
"Hold off a moment, please..." It took a moment for Bazett to realise she'd also said it aloud, as Setanta pulled his head out of the wall, shrugging his shoulders and clamoring to his feet.

"You are strong." He noted. His grin was almost infectious. Almost. If he were the only Servant here, then she might have smiled along with him. However, between Jack the Ripper and the Cerberus, Bazett couldn't find it in her to smile. "Oh, lighten up. Jack, we don't need the mist anymore."

"I can't! The Sorceress is trying to put my head on her sword-thingie!"

"Stay still you little brat."

Bazett felt her lips twist a bit. On one hand, she agreed with Caster. The sooner Jack died, the better. However, in this place, she probably couldn't be beaten so easy. It was probably Jack's territory.

Or what passed for it, anyway.

"Caster, that's enough." Bazett spoke up. "You can skewer her if she tries anything."

"She's already tried something, Master." Caster shot back. "I'm not eager to find out that the mist has a second effect."

"I told you, lady! A spade sometimes is just a spade!"

"Enough, Witch of the Pale Lilies." Setanta's voice was sharp as he spoke up. "Will my oath be enough, then?"

Caster did not immediately respond. Bazett could feel her twisting the words in her head, before she finally spoke.

"They will, Red Branch Knight."

"Then my oath you have. We will not harm you within this house, lest I skewer myself on the Wind Whisperer." Bazett's blood ran cold as he spoke. The oath was definitely binding. More importantly, the geas was owned by her. Bazett did not like being owner to one of the geas of Setanta. No, that was simply the young man before her signing his death warrant repeatedly.

She didn't want to find out how he'd somehow violate this one.

"Acceptable."

Within moments, the mist had vanished, but it did not make Bazett feel any better. If anything, it made her feel worse. Setanta stretched and yawned, rubbing his nose as he strode past.

"Oh shush, Failinis. Come on, Bazett, some tea is in order, or I'd be a terrible host." Bazett blinked. How Setanta switched gears so fast, she simply could not understand. "Besides, the girl who left this house to us stocked the pantry pretty well.

"So they're squatters, not thieves." Caster noted, finally melting into existence beside Bazett. "I was almost expecting to hear you ran the owner out yourselves." Setanta just laughed, motioning for the pair to follow him.

"Hardly. I never actually met her. Jack did, I didn't." He answered. "I suppose you already worked it out, but I am Rider of Black, and Jack is the Caster of Red."

"I can see that, yes." Bazett noted. "I'm going to guess those are your former Masters in the hallway and... well, there." Bazett motioned to the corpse to the side in the study. Setanta paused, his mouth twisting in distaste.

"I knew I shoulda just burned them." He whispered, almost shamefully. "Bazett, if I may ask you a favour, as the inheritor of my house? Please dispose of the bodies. I'll make something nice to eat." He vanished nary a moment later. Bazett blinked, glancing at Caster.

Just what, exactly, could she even begin to make of this?

"You're compromised." Caster noted. "I suppose as far as people to be compromised with, Setanta is a hell of a pick."

"Are you about to make fun of me?"

"No. I worshipped my father and siblings in much the same way." Caster answered. "Go. We'll be safe for the moment. I can deal with the corpses." Bazett decided she wasn't going to ask how, slowly following Setanta into the kitchen. If Caster didn't think she was in immediate danger, then she probably wasn't.

"I want hotdogs!"

"Jack, even if I had more sausage, that'd be the third day in a row. You've gotta eat more then that."

The idea of Jack and Setanta arguing over what to eat was also not on Bazett's list of things to see today.

"I take it the fighting inside has died down?" Archer noted.

"Yes. I've encountered Rider of Black and Caster of Red. Let the honour student know and stay on hand." Bazett shot back. "I'll see what I can get out of them."

"Honour student, huh?"
Archer seemed almost bemused at that. "Master says you owe her. Also, your grades were better then hers."

Were they? For Bazett, that seemed like so long ago. She'd made too many rivers of blood for her time in the El-Melloi classroom to seem like more then a distant dream, the one exception to the rule of Succession in the El-Melloi classroom. They said anyone he taught would at least make a Brand, yet here she was with barely a title beyond Dog of the Clocktower to her name.

If she cared more about such things, she'd consider it an insult.

"Sorry. The honour of the Red Branch asks I prepare our best catch." Setanta muttered, watching Jack fry... well, something, with trepidation. "But we only really have some seaweed, rice and fish. Jack's frying up some sushi."

"You don't fry sushi."

"Shush, lady, I'm working." Jack sniffed. "Everyone's a critic like Mistah Lusk." Her words reminded Bazett that, no matter how harmless the lavender haired girl might look, she was in fact a famous serial killer. Or, at least, she was someone who filled in for the spot. Bazett supposed if there was a case of mistaken identity, then this girl was as much a victim of Jack the Ripper as everyone else.

"Be careful pitying that one." Bazett was used to Caster appearing out of the air at this point. "At least some of it is an act."

"Which is the act, though? The sweet or the bitter?"
Bazett shot back. Caster hummed.

"Assume the sweet. You'll be less disappointed." Bazett had to wonder if that was Caster's personal bias speaking, or if she had an inkling that Jack would betray them. No matter which it was, Bazett would have to be careful. Jack the Ripper would be a hyper-specialised Servant, among the most hyper-specialised in fact. It was best to assume her Noble Phantasms would only work on women.

Bazett was very glad that she had two Fraga in her back pocket. Mentally, she reduced that number to one. The other was reserved for Jack.

Just in case.

"You approve, Witch of the Pale Lilies?" Setanta asked. Caster just nodded.

"I'm always down for fried food." She answered, grinning just a little. "Though pup, a word of warning, there won't be a third time you call me that." What about the name was so embarrassing for Caster, that she threatened physical harm over it? Her gender, Bazett could understand being a touchy subject, given when and how she lived. Pale lilies, though?

"You... dislike him?"

"Greatly."

"I see." Setanta nodded. "Then consider it forgotten, Caster of White." It had been a term of respect, Bazett realised. One that Mordred utterly despised.

"Good." Caster nodded, pulling out a chair for Bazett and herself. Jack just hummed her contentment, bolting to and fro, and delivering four plates of, well, fried sushi.

"Eat up!" She declared, joining the table. Setanta just chuckled, joining the table without any concern for his own safety, throwing a piece to his hound without a second thought. The pair had morphed into what seemed like an unlikely duo.

Bazett had to wonder if they were a package deal. Both or none.

Sitting down at the table, she glanced at Caster. She nodded and popped a piece in her mouth. It wasn't poisoned, at least. However, tasting it for herself, Bazett discovered it tasted exactly as it looked. Like fast food. Setanta looked ever so guilty at that, but she chose not to hammer it home. She could see that he wasn't eating it. She knew his opinion likely mirrored her own.

"Who killed your Masters?" Bazett asked. Perhaps it was best to get the hard questions out of the way first. "Neither of you are gathering magical energy, and that you're eating implies you have to generate your own."

"Smart." Setanta mused, closing his eyes. "Jack did. We mutinied." His response spoke a lot to their own character, and that of the Gum Brothers.

"That bad?"

"Master got the bright idea to let the doggie out at night time to lure out the rest of Black." Jack spoke up. "Seta's Master would pretend to be being chased by it." She spoke simply, but the implication there was a line even she wouldn't cross was surprising. "Seta couldn't bare it. He almost used the-"

"Jack." Setanta's voice cut her off, the girl covering her mouth apologetically. She must have been about to mention his Noble Phantasm. He let out a sigh after a very long moment. "Never mind. You probably already know what she was going to say, don't you, Bazett? Caster definitely does."

"... Yes." Bazett admitted. "Gae Bolg. How many times can you use it in your current state?"

"I can use Gae Bolg( Last Tears that Birth the Great Hero) just once in this form." He admitted. "I'm not sure I'll even be here after I do." He played with another piece of sushi for a long moment, before throwing it to the whining Failinis. "This me is before all that. I remember it all, but..."

"It's another life." Caster noted. "If you invoke that life, where does that leave this you?"

"Yeah." Bazett could appreciate the maturity of someone who was contemplating the sudden cessation of his existence, at least. "Jack didn't tell me before she did it, if you were wondering. I thought an Assassin was here."

"Then obviously they weren't a match for you?" Bazett asked Jack. She shook her head.

"They stink of blood. I'm good at killing killers." She answered. "They stink much worse then you, or Caster, or Seta. They were real killers. Like me." Her voice was dark. The killer was definitely under the surface of her skin. That she was good at killing killers, though...

"... Oh." Jack was perhaps scarier then Bazett had given her credit for. Jack the Ripper had drowned herself in the blood of magi. Perhaps that was why she was a Caster.

Jack the Ripper was a fairly special kind of Servant, after all. You could summon Jack the Ripper a hundred times and get a hundred different Jack's. It was not unheard of among Heroic Spirits, after all, who could be as varied as the legends that humans worshiped. However, what made Jack truly special, was the incontinence between those versions. If one summoned three different Mordred's, they would at least be distinctly aware of each other, if not share characteristics and perhaps even knowledge.

Jack the Ripper was too many distinct entities to count, and only some of them experienced overlap.

"Well, it's reassuring to know the Gum Brothers died as they lived, at least." Bazett muttered to herself. Jack cocked her head to the side curiously.

"How did they live?" She asked. Bazett bit her lip, joining Setanta in playing with her food, before throwing a piece to Failinis herself.

"A life for a price." She answered finally. "That was their greatest creed. You could buy someone's death with enough treasure. They often didn't accept money. Not valuable enough for them. They wanted treasures and artifacts, things to expand their power with." Letting out a small breath, she continued. "Eventually, I likely would have done the deed myself. The Clocktower only puts up with things like them for so long."

"Wet works." Setanta mused. "Plausible deniability. All those political things I hate. Even Mebd would find a more tasteful solution."

"Yes." Bazett nodded, glancing at Caster.

"What, you think I stabbed people in the back by proxy?" She sounded almost offended. "I stab people in the front, thank you very much."

"Usually Caster's don't stab people at all." Jack sung. Caster just rolled her eyes.

"Shut up or I'm cooking you."

"It sounds like you knew them." Setanta noted. "Would more like them be here?"

"Maybe. I don't know every Master in the war." Bazett admitted. "This seems like a low beyond even Kirei, but..." Could she really say that the treacherous snake of a priest wouldn't set Cerberus loose as a trap? Setanta blinked, and Bazett recognised the rune he'd drawn in the table. Clever boy, all he needed was a name, was it?

"Ah, found him. He does look a bit omi-" Setanta stopped speaking entirely. His mouth kept moving, but no sound left it.

"Seta?" Jack sounded almost concerned, but the young hound of Ulster just shook his head, burying his head in his hands.

"I knew someone had summoned a Lancer and had it stolen." He whispered. "Master, he said that much. I..." He looked up at Bazett. "Why? How?"

He sounded so completely, utterly lost in that moment, that he actually looked his age.

"Who is Lancer, Setanta?" Bazett asked. Setanta just stared for the very longest moment.

"I'll only tell you, if you promise never to fight him again." He finally answered. Bazett felt her blood run cold. The Geas of the Hound( Valiant Warrior's Oaths) were not things to break lightly. If kept, they were a source of great strength. If not...

Well, that was why Setanta had ultimately died. That weakness likely was still in effect while he was a Servant, too. In his youth, Setanta was probably at his most dangerous.

[ ] I promise.
[ ] I can't.
[ ] Write in.

We can't actually avoid fighting Lancer of Black if it comes to it. Should he come for us, running won't be an option against that kind of speed.

To that end, I have two questions, I should probably ask them in-character, but I think they'd be incorporated into the final decision really, so I'll ask them here instead.

  1. Is there a difference between 'Bazett fighting Lancer' and 'Lancer fighting Bazett' for the purposes of the Geas. If he comes after us and we defend ourselves, would the Geas still trigger?
  2. How closely is Caster entwined with us for these purposes? If Mordred fights Lancer without our assistance, would that break the Geas?

As far as the geas is concerned, fighting is Bazett makes a offensive move against Lancer. Defending yourself would not count if you were very careful about it, but that level of talent is very rare in warriors.

How closely is Caster entwined with us for these purposes? If Mordred fights Lancer without our assistance, would that break the Geas?
Million dollar question huh? She is your familiar, just saying.

[X] I won't look for him for the purpose of fighting him but if he ever attacks or threatens my allies or myself, I will fight back.
Logic tells me not to make such promises, even if we were absolutely sure that we were not going to break it. There is a possibility that this could be used against us.

On the one hand, that information would be great, and if Sentanta doesn't us fighting him we probably don't want to be fighting him. And it's not like it's personal to Bazzet, not like it is with Kirei. Then again, that information is near worthless if we're not going to fight him, and he might be protecting Kirei or someone else we're going to need to kill. It's not like Setanta is an ally either, this meeting here is out of respect for Mordred and curtesy to the linage, plus Bazzet's own skill in battle. Plus, while I'm positive he won't try to make a situation in which we're forced to fight Lancer, Jack might, and I'm very much not clear how closely they're allied. Plus a strong chance of Jack just fucking things up for us to get a few giggles.

In character though, I'm not sure Bazzet could pass this up. It's fucking Setanta asking her to hold an oath. That's not going to happen again. I can't resist that.

[X] I promise.

Make no mistake, this isn't an easy choice. There's good reasons not to make an oath like this, but the boost is nice unless we break that oath, and if we have to break it, then we'll be armed with the information gained here. I don't know how we'll get it otherwise.

...I think that if Setanta doesn't want us fighting him, then we probably do have a good reason not to be fighting him.

Plus we do have a team of allies now, even if we still need to reunite with them.

[X] I promise.

I think the only other question I would ask is well... Since the gum brothers are dead, we could invite these two to accompany us. Jack is Caster of Red after all, so she's technically on the same side as our current allies...

[ ] I promise.

It's probably what Bazette would do. And to be honest, due to our Runes we can easily act against him without fighting him. Buffing others and laying traps are within our repetoire. Even if the second would be distasteful.
That's super sweet. I always thought that Mordred's relationship with the Orkney gang was criminally underfocused. I look forward to learn more about her relationship with them.

Wow. She must really fucking hate Lancelot.

Though worth pointing out, three of the four masters we're allied with are female though, and all of them are mages. Might be awful temping for Jack, who already killed her Master and his brother, who was also a Master. Granted, it was because they crossed a moral line with her, but who knows what exactly that means. She's insane, her personal morality probably doesn't track in a logical way. If it was just Setanta, I'd ask in a heart beat. Jack is a wildcard in a bad way.

Then again, Sentanta does seem to have a way of managing her. And between the Masters we've got plus Mordred and Lancer we can probably support them magically. And the house might make an okay staging area, if not a base. We'd have to do something about Cerberus though, we don't want it hanging around and Jack seems to want it dead.

I dunno, that's a harder call then this oath, and it's a rough one.

I will say, regardless of what winds up winning, we've learned from this that the Black team isn't exactly united either. Perhaps not as fractured as Red team, but it's helpful information to have.

[X] I can't. Not now.

Because power or not, this is something where it feels like Bazett wants closure on it. I think that making the promise will make it more difficult for her to get that closure, and while she has more motivating her now than just what she had when the quest started (read: screw Kirei), it's still something that's there for her.

Just letting go of that doesn't feel quite right, though I suppose we could leave Lancer of Black to others.

As for my decided variation on it for a write-in, I feel like it best communicates what I imagine she would actually think, at least right now.

As usual, I'll be reviewing my thoughts when I next wake up.

Alright time to do some theorycrafting. Partially piggybacking off of some earlier theories made in the thread regarding Lancer of Black.

Setanta doesn't want us to fight Lancer of Black. This could mean either this is someone close to Cu, or someone Cu knows is really powerful and scary. So what do we know about Lancer of Black?

Well it's rather unlikely that Lancer of Black is also Cu Chulainn. He has a red spear, but that spear is not Gae Bolg.

"Human perception says Gae Bolg has two forms." Caster muttered. "If it's not a spear, then its-"

"A magic spell." Bazett finished. Whether that truly meant anything, Bazett wasn't sure. There was only one man who could use Gae Bolg. If it was a spell, then Lancer was still that one man. "So nothing really has changed..."

I feel like it's noteworthy that this is merely theorising, and that Bazett's conclusion is incorrect. This is not the one man who could use Gae Bolg, as a spell or otherwise.

Throughout the fight against Lancer of Black earlier, we were informed of two opportunities which Answerer could have been used in.

The feeling of plaster and wood splintering against Bazett's back was nothing compared to the sudden heat that exploded throughout her former hotel room.
The walls, or what was left of them, exploded in a great ball of fire.

So Lancer's Trump Card is heat and fire related. The second of these happened shortly after Lancer crafted an Ansuz Rune which Baz proceeded to lose track of. Before Ruler intervenes, Lancer also uses his runes to increase the strength of his spear.

The number of runes lighting the air around him was more then Bazett's fading vision could count. He intended to do something excessive. Was this the fabled Ochd Deug Odin? The final word at worlds end? Could Cu Chulainn even deploy that?

Then the runes were gone, the rapidly rising heat faded, and both Servants let out a sigh.

I suspect that this was about to be a third usage of Lancer's trump card.

So I've got a few theories I'm working with here. In compiling the evidence, which one I was most secure in shifted somewhat.

First theory: Lancer is Connla, Cu Chulainn's son. This assumes that Connla had access to the spell form off Gae Bolg. I doubt this, given that I don't think heat and fire are commonly associated with Gae Bolg. One of it's usages explodes sure, but it's rarely a ball of fire. Also Gae Bolg is a spear that tracks and hits its target, which this has consistently failed to do.

Second Theory: Lancer is Odin, the Norse God. The rune magic used by Scathach is Nordic, which tracks. Bazett theorises that Lancer's trump card is Ochd Deug Odin, an attack which we do not know the form of beyond it being related to runes. Lancer has wolf familiars, and Odin's most famous animals after his ravens and his fucking weird horse are wolves. Odin's spear, Gungnir, is the prototype of Gae Bolg, which would explain why it is a barbed red spear.

The two problems with this theory are: Why would a Lancer's trump card be Ochd Deug Odin, rather than his spear? What I suspect would be the last usage would use the spear and the runes in conjuncture, but Gungnir should be a Noble Phantasm outside of Ochd Deug Odin. Also, it is noted that the runes increased the rank of the spear to B-Rank. The Valkyrie's FGO materials profile gives them a degraded Gungnir at B-Rank, implying that Gungnir as a Noble Phantasm should be above that point. The second problem is, why is Odin pretending to be Cu Chulainn? Well, he could be throwing people off his identity. The whole eye thing is a give away, but who knows, maybe this is a Scathach=Skadi circumstance.

Third Theory: Lancer is Lugh, father of Cu Chulainn. Why does a Celtic God have norse runes? Well putting aside that Cu Chulainn has them for some reason, it'd certainly throw people off his identity. Lugh's spear, referred to as Brionac in the citations the wiki has, is another prototype of Gate Bolg; With the tracking feature relating to Gungnir, Brionac or whatever name you would use to refer to Lugh's spear could end up not having it. Looking into other sources, the name most attributed to a spear of Lugh is Luin, which is noted to be a hot and fiery spear, which would line up with all the mentions of the heat.

The wolves could be explained as Lugh being conflated with Lugus, who apparently has iconography relating to wolves, but I'm not an expert there.

Lugh feels like he best explains the possibilities of Answerer being usable in response to an explosion with focus on heat, but still doesn't feel right to me. None of them do, really. I wouldn't be surprised if our dear GM is fucking with us and this is a Sitonai-style High Servant that's a fusion of a few Gods and a less divine Hero. If it's anyone other than who I've touched on, I suspect the best lead will be if anyone else in the relevant myths would have had access to Lugh's spear, because that feels the closest to being right.

But with that said, if any of my theories are right, it's someone strong. Even Connla was able to pressure Cu enough into using Gae Bolg in life, and whoever it is they're rather fight-happy.

I also suspect that Bazett is a smart person who knows more about celtic myth than I do- And it's link to Norse stuff, given her runes and her knowledge that the Ochd Deug Odin could be relevant. I think Bazett could either figure it out or bring up a bunch more theories about who it is if she knows it isn't Cu Chulainn. I don't think she needs to be told who this is, not as much as she needs to have the option of Fragaraching them.

[X] I can't.

We should make a note to ask Shirou about this, that guy has a weird amount of knowledge on myths as I recall.

[X] I can't.

We can't keep ourselves from needing to fight, since Lancer of Black
A: Will assault us
B: Is the Servant of Kirei. That guy we're going after both for revenge and to honor our pact with Hakuno

Moreover, while theoretically just acting defensively is possible, it was very clearly pointed out it's not as easy as it sounds. "That level of talent is very rare in warriors." and all that. Feels odd to point that out if we can just do that.

It's not a matter of wanting to or not, we actually can't. Or maybe I'm misinterpreting. It is an option, but I just don't see any way that works out for us.

My only worry about promising is how much will it get in the way of finding Kirei?

But maybe Lancer of Black really is Connla. Maybe Setanta doesn't want us fighting him cause he'll eventually do it himself. Maybe he's now saving his one time use of Gae Bolg just for him.

Or maybe I'm just being too hopeful. I'll think about it more tomorrow.

[X] I promise.

Fuck it, it has to be an option for a reason. Not gonna have a two-option vote where one option is just the end for us. Not this early, at least.
If nothing else, we can sic Kingu/maybe one of the others too on Kirei instead.

As far as the geas is concerned, fighting is Bazett makes a offensive move against Lancer. Defending yourself would not count if you were very careful about it, but that level of talent is very rare in warriors.

[X] I can't.

So this is a problem. This means even if he starts the fight, as soon as we retaliate the oath is broken. We're going to have to deal with him at some point, and he's already tried to kill us once.

Also. Is there a version of the hover text that works on mobile?

[X] I won't look for him for the purpose of fighting him but if he ever attacks or threatens my allies or myself, I will fight back.

This does kind of run up against the fact that we fully intend to kill his master, which I think is close enough to count in the extreme likelihood this puts us up against him.

[X] I can't.

Please be mindful that this is still a Holy Grail War; trying to appease everybody all the time will eventually end with every promise and alliance broken by paradox and contradiction, leaving you alone to fend against the rest. The only thing keeping you from returning to one person pissing against the wind is being able to deliver on your promises and set boundaries on what you can't promise.

As Bazett herself pointed out, Cu Chulainn's downfall was a product of exactly that. Too many oaths to keep at once, ending with them all broken and Cu fighting alone and left so mangled he had to use his own intestines to tie his dying carcass of a rock for something resembling a crutch.

All the harder to keep the geas when Lancer wants to flex on you and his Master outright wants to torture you worse than death for amusement. Kotomine Kirei must die, that much is non-negotiable. If his Servant is in the way, then the Servant will be killed to stop the bastard from inflicting more and greater harm in the future.
How closely is Caster entwined with us for these purposes? If Mordred fights Lancer without our assistance, would that break the Geas?
Servants are spiritual beings who are connected to their Master as familiars, which means the bond is both mental and spiritual. If the anchor's spirit is hurt by a curse like a broken geas, the familiar that is treated as an extension of it is hit as well.

On the flipside, Setanta hasn't broken those oaths yet, which might give you a idea on why he doesn't care that he has no Master.

Would harming Kirei or another member of our alliance fighting Lancer of Black in earnest trigger the geass?
