Well Yeah after reading several works on this sight I felt inspired, so I decided to have a go at this quest thing, please take it easy it is my first try so anyways here we go.
Your fragmented spirit twist and turns through the rubble and ash, whatever caused this, it taints still lingers, foul and evil by nature, If you were whole you would have never come here, but this place was the singular location in which the world of the living was open to you. Though upon entering it, the reason it is open is rather apparent. Still you cannot remain in the world much longer, as if your very presence is being eroded. You need something to sustain your spirit, your soul. It doesn't matter at this point what it is as long as you can inhabit it.
Unfortunately, there is little here, but ash, no object that you can use that haven't been tainted by the evil around you, finally you see it there. Something, upon closer inspection, you see that it is a boy, not even a decade old, his hair is the colour of dried blood and his eyes are an empty amber. In those eyes you see that this child's soul has already departed or at least most of it has. You could wait for it to fully depart but, you do not have the time for such a luxury. Wihtout thinking you plung yourself in the child causing the body to spasm violently.
It appeared to your misfortune that the boy is not just empty, but also distorted, tearing parts off of yourself as you force your way in badly damaging both of your psyche's, though unlike the boy, you manage to latch onto what made you who you are or at least parts of it.Something, not a whole, but fragments at least. Better than nothing that is, as your spirit settles and integrates itself into the soul and body of this child, it stops his spams, and then the sensations burn into you and the pain for your psyche is rather unbearable, as the pain consumes you managed to keep the sense of you who are or at least part of it. After all you are.

That was a Larger turnout than expected.
Note to all of you these are Magnus's Character, not the Protagonists. These will become available over the Course of the Quest and some (the more passive ones) will be available at the beginning.
"Do you remember what you said to me, brother? Do you remember what you said to me as we fought before the Pyramid of Photep? Do you remember the words you used? I do. As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're, well, let us not mention where you are now."

Paranoid: You did't trust anyone but yourself to warn your father of Horus's betrayal, look where that got you and your sons (+2 intrigue -1 Diplomacy)
Please note like at the start this is is a nerfed Magnus's Parameters, The character can work their way up to this again, but they will start with a much more modest set, I thought this would be befitting for a Primarch, even a weakened one.

Tiger Tamer: You have manged to endear yourself to Taiga Fujimura the Tiger of Fuyuki as her little brother, people some people are inclined to have a more positive outlook at you because of this, other's fear what would happen if they insult you and she finds out and goes to her grandfather +2 diplomacy
Tigers brother: rumors that the Tiger of Fuyuki has taken to calling a child her younger brother has gone around the rumour mill, +20 opinion gained with all
Diplomacy: 14+1+1+2=17 You are fairly talented for a child at diffusing situations, notably above the average adult
Martial: 25+1+3+2=31 There is something special or wrong about you no child should be this skilled in combat. Your Talents in the art of war and death will attract the attention of others, human and otherwise
Stewardship:19+1+1+1+1+1=24 You are almost impossibly talented at keeping things in order and taking care of the, reaching the level of a specialised adult
Intrigue: 30+1+2=33 You are better than most professionals if not all, something which they do not expect, the fact that you are not even a decade old catches them off guard even further
Learning: 38+1+2+2=43 Your learning capacity is to be put bluntly unnatural if not inhuman, Adults can no longer justify this as the fact that you have amnesia and must learn quicker. They are right
They are right
Your entrance into the distorted body is finished and you can hear what is left of the boy repeating that he wants to live, so do you. You try asking the boy his name, finally after what in your/his mindscape seems like an eternity he finally answers with two Sylables 'Shi' and 'rou' you are able to gleam the spelling of it by brushing the child's/your mind. With that the boy collapses in this barren land that could be called his soul, you note that this place will need some changes in the near future. Speaking of Changes perhaps you could do something to the body, perhaps change it to suit your tastes for a vessel, nothing big, of course, at this point, just aesthetic things, like the colour of the skin and hair perhaps the eyes for the moment. You cannot be the Crimson king with orange hair.
[]Flesh Sculpt (minor changes, hair colour skin tone)
-[] Crimson hair and slightly tanned skin with Sapphire eyes (keep both eyes) also 75% chance that Shirou? gains the trait attractive
-[] Crimson hair and slightly tanned skin with a Sapphire eye (remove left eye) 25% chance that Shirou? gains the trait attractive
-[] Crimson hair and slightly tanned skin with a Sapphire eye (remove right eye, its not the original but you like to be inconstant in some things like your appearance) 25% chance that Shirou? gains the trait attractive
[] leave the body the way it is 3% chance that Magnus loses the trait proud
You decide that while changing the body to suite your tastes would be good, Shirou as he referred to himself might not appreciate having a single eye, neither would the rest of the world. Most would fear you, though rightfully so, but unfortunately that is not something you can afford given your current state
Needed: 15 rolled: Roll(5d20): 20,12,3,5,12+Roll(1d10):5= 57 resounding success
The process is painless for both both of you and goes swimmingly, the boys hair darkens to the shade of red you desired, one akin to your own that is. and while you refrain from making his skin red it now has a little bronze in it to please you. His eyes are now an enchanting Sapphire the color of eldritch lightning. Altogether you are pleased with your work
In fact it goes so swimmingly that the changes you wrought have enhanced the boys features making it more prominent (Shirou gains trait Attractive).
This is irrelevant to you however as when it comes to what you look like, you have always chosen to appear with many faces and yet none at all. Perhaps one day you will match the emperor in that. But that day seems as if it is far off.
Retreating back into the boy's/your mind you find him sleeping fitfully, no doubt he is reliving the fire that has emptied him so, the scream, the cries of anguish, those waiting to be saved but never finding salvation. If you were at your full might you would have traversed the skeins back to before this fire started.
It is then that you managed outside to pinpoint the direct location of the feeling of evil, Maybe you should try to force this body to move, to try and find an eradicate it so something like this may never occur, that or you could collect it and study it.
[]Force yourself to move to where the power you are sensing is (note if succesful may or may not prevent the events of Heavens Feel or at least gain knowledge of the Grail War, may lock routes of being adopted by the Magus Killer though)
[]Continue to lie here motionless (Canon Choice can lead to Fate/Stay Night)
[]Continue to lie here motionless (Canon Choice can lead to Fate/Stay Night)
You could force Shirou's body to move but that would make it degrade easier, the human body can only tolerate so much and this one is near it's limit. If you had chosen to press on in any case, you would have been forced to use your powers to re-knit the wounds and the burns. While it may have not taken much out of you it may have also taken much more that you would have initially believed.
So instead you choose to lie in wait here, with a damaged body that it feels as if all the nerves are transmitting pain. Choosing once again to shut yourself off you delve back into Shirou's/your mindscape. the boy won't last much longer, he believes that he is already dead, strange that Catholicism exists here as well, though the Emperor was sure that he had stamped out all religion, well he stomped out the less harmful ones, Chaos found it's way into everything in the end.
Mustering what little compassion you have you try to consolidate the child as his soul begins to depart, Shirou for his part just emptily nods at you whenever you speak. His eyes blank and empty. Finally just as the boy fades leaving you as the only resident in this body there is a blinding light that shines through. Something is being injected into Shirou's/your body, the feeling of it makes your skin crawl as it heals the worn out muscles and body. Yet through it all as you retreat to the further reaches of the boy's mind to get away from the light, you can tell that it is not functioning as well as it could be.
Finally after the light dies down you return to where you were before to find Shirou there. On second glance you notice that it is not Shirou, his soul had departed. What was in here was something inconceivable if you yourself were not here seeing it, an artificial soul. It seemed that just as Shirou had expired the magic artifact injected into the boy had done its work. Since the body did not have a soul, you cannot count do to your existence as a daemon prince it create an artificial soul to take it's place, this is far from perfect and you notice some distinct changes.
While when you had last met him the child had a heart of glass which meant that Shirou would have been at that point apathetic to most things. While that is still the same there is something about the boy that seems off, not in a bad sense but you are the one who tries to find the secrets of the universe so this slightly vexes you
Deciding to open his eyes you peer through them to find a grown man smiling at him with a relieved smile, almost, no as if he had been the one saved and not Shirou/you. You also notice with your eye that this man is being eaten within by something within destroying his body slowly. It has the same taint as what you sensed caused this fire.
Seeing that smile you notice that Shirou wonders if he could smile like that if he saved someone. THe man hoist the boy's/your body onto his back as he carries you away. eventually he asks what your/Shirou's name is. It is then that the boy struggles as he makes an attempt to tell this man, supposedly his savior his name [] You let Shirou Say his name, it is his body after all and that is all he remembers of who he was. Or to be exact that was all the original remembered so it is all the artificial soul has to work with [] You wrest control from him and say your name instead (Proud, Daemon Prince) [] Help Shirou say his name (gains the chance for Magnus to earn the trait kind)
[x] Help Shirou say his name (gains the chance for Magnus to earn the trait kind) 8 votes
needed: 5 rolled: Roll(1d20):17 Astounding critical success
A small part of what made you who you were was moved to compassion by the Shirou's attempt to speak. First you regulate his breathing so that he is getting more air into his lungs and then you aid his body in the attempt to make sound, slowly you are able to get the word smoothly from Shirou. The Boy relaxes after this passing into unconsciousness leaving you awake, then again you do not dream or perhaps you are always dreaming. Still it is better for you to feign sleep at this point shutting down parts of the brain as sleep requires whil you keep your own conscience active.
Back here again in the boys mindscape you look at the desert like landscape with a few small tufts of grass here and there and see that perhaps this place could use a little makeover. However you also note that this may not just be a mindscape as the connection to Shirou goes even deeper than that. Still you would rather not have to sit in the barren wasteland of this boys mind or soul, so perhaps you should liven it up a bit, though perhaps in oing so you could impart something to Shirou as a form of recompense.
needed:70 rolled:Roll(1d100):61 bare failure, failed to gain trait kind 5% chance increase on next try.

[]Restructure entire mindscape to suit your tastes (Proud, Daemon Prince, Book of Magnus) not reccomended
While it would be viable option to perform a grand scale reconstruction of this place or perhaps just a small part, you are concerned off how much it would effect the boy's mental state, which is fragile as it is.
Still not one to waste potential and so that you may have something more aesthetically pleasing to look at in the mindscape you fashion first a spire of the likes of your homeworld Prospero and fill it with knowledge in the form of books on various subjects. You have not added in anything too dangerous but there is some knowledge there that would be best learned when you are present. But that is also to feed the boys hunger for learning if he ever feels the desire for it.
roll needed: 70 rolled: 1d100)+0: 74
While the nostalgia is a pleasant sensation it is also beneath you. As such you also feel the need to sculpt something else into this place. Finally you decide to place one of the many arena's your brother Perturabo designed while the two of you were on Terra. While one of these designs had been abused by your father and used it for the Trial of Nikea. Still it would be a shame for one of them to not at least be used even in this sense. So by your (accurate) memory of this design shared by your brother you form a massive Arena of the likes any world would marvel and envy.

Looking at your work you nod at a job well done you feel immensely pleased and satisfied with your work. Perhaps later you can introduce Shirou to your creations, say after he has woken up and sorted what he should do with his life. Or you could do that right now and if you desire choose for him.
[] Leave Shirou be for now and wait for him to wake up and sort things out himself before showing him this.
[] Leave Shirou be for now but sort his life out for him when he wakes up and then introduce him to this place Proud (chance of Magnus gaining the trait cruel)
[] leave Shirou be for now and wait for him to awaken where you will aid him in sorting his life out, before introducing him to this. (Chance of Magnus gaining the trait kind)
[] Let Shirou discover this on his own (chance of Shirou gaining the trait paranoid)
Results: Shirou gained the trait curious +1 Stewardship, Shirou had gained the trait diligent +1 Diplomacy, Martial, Stewardship, Intrigue, Learning +10 Vassal Opinion.

[X] leave Shirou be for now and wait for him to awaken where you will aid him in sorting his life out, before introducing him to this. (Chance of Magnus gaining the trait kind) Seems like this one won with a landslide with 11 votes
You decide to wait for the boy to recover himself, after all he is tired and you can always introduce him to these changes you have made later. Instead you desire to see what the fate of this boy is when he awakes. So for now you wait
Shirou woke up in the hospital the first question he had in his head was 'where am I?" Seeing that there was no one currently there the boy did not expect an answer and was slightly disturbed when he received one.
+You are in the Fuyuki hospital+ a voice answered, it was strange and had a resonating effect, yet the child could tell that it had not been said aloud.
"Who's there?" you ask though this time aloud trying to convince yourself that you weren't just hearing things.
+I am+ was the short and blunt reply. the voice sounded amused or at least seemed to. +You do not need to talk only simply think and I can hear you+
"You're reading my mind?" Shirou asked and accused, he did this aloud as well.
+That is a common misconception+ the voice answered +I do not read anything+ it informed Shirou. +your thoughts can be heard+ it explained.
"You can?" Shirou asked himself more so than whatever was talking inside of his head wondering if it was inside of his mind.
+Yes+ the voice answered as if to prove that point +Also I am inside your head, I helped you survive that fire+ it stated.
While most normal children would be screaming for their parents Shirou was far from normal. Whatever he was thinking was cut off as the nurse arrived.
"You're awake?" the aged woman asked looking him up and down, after she seemed to be satisfied the nurse asked "would you like to see the man who brought you here?" she asked, her tone softer, possibly because this was the voice she used when speaking to children.
+I would nod, but not say anything just yet+ the voice suggested and Shirou found himself doing that if only as an automatic action to the question asked.
The Nurse nodded to this in turn and walked out of the room leaving him shortly before escorting a man into the room "Why are his eyes like that?" Shiour asked himself.
+Because he is a professional killer+ the voice informed him +he has done many foul deeds, as a result his eyes have lost the light within him.+
"Why did he save us then if he is a killer not a saver?" Shirou internally asked though this time it was deliberate.
+That is due to his motivations for killing people from what I can tell+ the voice replied +rather admirable but also futile ones as well+ he explained. +it could also be due to the curse that is eating him from the inside, but I'll show you that later.+
There was a brief silence in which Shirou stared at the man who had saved him. Finally the boy dipped his head a form of gratitude "thank you" he said "thank you for bringing me out of that fire."
The rest of the conversation with the man was pleasant but to the point, eventually he asked if Shirou would like to be adopted by him instead of going to the orphanage being set up for the orphans of the fire.
+I would go with him+ the voice suggested.
"who are you?" Shirou asked the voice finally wondering who this person was inside of his head.
+Magnus+ the voice answered +my name is Magnus, Magnus the Red, the Crimson King+ the now named Magnus introduced himself. +let's just say in a bit I have something that I would like you to see+ with that he didn't say more as he waited for you to come to your decision.
