Fate/Grand Order x Magic Tree House (Yes, you read that correctly)

Essentially this is just a crazy idea I had the other day while reviewing my childhood collection of short chapter books. As a kid, I loved the Magic Tree House series, both for the history it provided as well as the different settings in time. However, it was while rereading some of those short stories that I noticed something interesting, namely the identity of one of the people that Jack and Annie have met in their early travels through time: Qin Shi Huang. Yes, really.

From there, I pulled up the Wikipedia page for the book series to double check what other historical figures that the two protagonists might have met. I was astonished at the full list considering quite a few notable FGO characters were among them, such as Florence Nightingale, Shakespeare, Da Vinci and others. With this realization as a foundation, my mind began to stir up an idea for a crossover, and the result (or, really, the basic outline) is as follows:

1. In 2004, Marisbilly Animusphere summons a Caster Class servant as part of the Holy Grail War, about a week to a month before its due to start.
2. In order to help make his idea of Chaldea a reality, Animusphere asks his servant (who has perfect Clairvoyance) on who would be the best candidates for the project, and is stunned to hear that there's actually someone experienced in time travel besides the Lord Second or the Blue. Obviously, he wants to meet this person as soon as humanly possible because theoretically speaking they should possess a 100% Rayshift affinity.
3. He goes to an American University, where Jack Osbourne is studying for his Bachelor's in History (I'm giving his age as 20 in 2004 based on the fact that the first book was published in 1992, and states that Jack is 8 and a half years of age.)
4. In order to get Jack on his side, Marisbilly offers to finance Jack's academic career in it's entirety, from now until he dies, so long as he joins Chaldea as the first Crypter (remember, Jack has boatloads of experience, and Kirshtaria can serve as a 2nd-in-command anyways).
5. Jack accepts, and from there on events change with his influence, especially beginning at the start of canon.

So, with all of this, I wanted to invite some discussion by asking the following questions:
1. Where's Annie in all of this? Was she also recruited? Is she somewhere else, or even (the more morbid option) dead?
2. What happened to the Magic Tree House? Is it gone forever, destroyed, or simply waiting in Camelot? Were parts of it utilized to develop the Rayshift system?
3. How much magecraft did Morgan and Merlin teach the kids? They received at minimum a bare minimum magical education from them based on the book canon, so how in-depth were their lessons?
4. Did all of this time travelling have a supernatural effect on Jack and Annie?
5. What other locations have they been to in the timeline that haven't been covered in the books? Keep in mind, the kids' very first outing was to the Cretaceous Period, and they've gone as far into the future as the 2030s. There are essentially no rules at play here.

With all of that said, I turn the time over to you guys. What do you think of the idea, and what are your thoughts? I'm not sure if I'll get around to making this into an actual fic, but the more discussion the higher chance there is of that happening.

I want it to be an actual fic please.
But anyways, I think the Magic Tree House still exists, but neither Morgan or Merlin have anything for them to do or they simply couldn't go to the Tree House anymore due to how busy their lives got in the following years.

I think its the same for Anne too.

Their reactions to seeing Merlin and Morgan again would be hilarious. As well as their confusion of arthur being a girl.

I just saw this while I was at the main menu and I am glad I did.
Where's Annie in all of this? Was she also recruited? Is she somewhere else, or even (the more morbid option) dead?
I am not a girl so I have no idea what she would do as an adult with a childhood filled with time traveling. I can see her writing a children's book about a time traveling tree house as an option. Other than that, she could be anything she wants. I don't think killing her off-screen would be a good idea best to do that on-screen for the drama.

2. What happened to the Magic Tree House? Is it gone forever, destroyed, or simply waiting in Camelot? Were parts of it utilized to develop the Rayshift system?
It probably returned to Camelot after it runs out of major historical events to travel through. Is the series still continuing after all these years?

The tree could just stay in their backyard and Magi study it so that it can it makes developing Rayshift much easier with a framework to work off of.

3. How much magecraft did Morgan and Merlin teach the kids? They received at minimum a bare minimum magical education from them based on the book canon, so how in-depth were their lessons?
Book canon and maybe more basic/general education once they were old enough to understand them. They won't be Shirou's level but wouldn't be as skilled as Rin either, maybe Waver in 4th HGW level.

4. Did all of this time travelling have a supernatural effect on Jack and Annie?
Probably not?

5. What other locations have they been to in the timeline that haven't been covered in the books? Keep in mind, the kids' very first outing was to the Cretaceous Period, and they've gone as far into the future as the 2030s. There are essentially no rules at play here.
Well, what haven't they gone to yet? Buddist Temple Martial Arts training? French Revolution? Bible locations like Jesus's journey would be cool? Native American village? Pirates in Carribean? Ancient Egypt with King Tut? Have they been to India?

5. Jack accepts, and from there on events change with his influence, especially beginning at the start of canon.
Lev: BAKURETSU BAKURETSU LA LA LA.

The primary issue with anything involving Masters in Chaldea pre-FGO start is that the saboteur has no reason whatsoever not to get them blown up too, which therefore requires you to contrive a way for them to not die. In this particular case you also have the issue of Jack being a Crypter-IE he's one of the main people being sent in the first place, and therefore is a priority target who doesn't have a handy Knight of the Round Table to heal him. We'll ignore any of the pending 'what exactly was Marisbury intending with the Crypters' questions the FGO plot's been flagging here for now on account of not knowing the answers.
the real question is the Lostbelt they'd head

The answer to this question is fairly obvious: This idea started by tying their adventures to FGO characters, their other outings should continue to tie themselves to the FGO plot.
Prioritise stuff with a connection to Singularities/Lostbelts/Assorted Events you'd be considering adapting.
Their reactions to seeing Merlin and Morgan again would be hilarious. As well as their confusion of arthur being a girl.
So they didn't realise it like the entire rest of Camelot.:V
(On a serious note, while I'm not familiar with the non-FGO side of this cross, their adventures probably need some varyingly minor adjustments to allow for this being the Nasuverse unless they've been off in parallel timelines. Not sure if Camelot is one of those; Morgan can probably be explained by her usual parts-of-herself-at-cross-purposes schtick, but I'm not sure where Magic Tree House falls on the scale of Boring Game of Thrones Clone to Ancient British Justice League.)

As well as their confusion of arthur being a girl.
They met King Arthur and all of the Knights in the 1st Merlin Mission book, but on the other hand since this is Time Travel we're talking about, Artoria would likely still be hiding her gender. So, yeah, there might some surprises there.
Is the series still continuing after all these years?
Latest book came out in mid 2020, yeah.
Well, what haven't they gone to yet? Buddist Temple Martial Arts training? French Revolution? Bible locations like Jesus's journey would be cool? Native American village? Pirates in Carribean? Ancient Egypt with King Tut? Have they been to India?
Per the book canon: They've gone to a Lakota village and dealt with Pirates, and while they haven't met Tut, they did help an Egyptian Queen find the Book of the Dead. They've also gone to Paris, but not for the French Revolution, and they've been in somewhat-modern India but not the mythical one.
the real question is the Lostbelt they'd head
I... have an idea for what that might be, but how it would fit with how Lostbelts work is something I'm still pondering.

So, Camelot in the Magic Tree House canon is... weird, as its stated to be a, well, I'll just quote the book text:

They followed Morgan over the bridge and through a tall gate. There were no signs of life in the castle's inner courtyard.
"Where is everyone?" Annie whispered to Jack.
"I don't know," he whispered back. Jack really wished they had a book about Camelot. It might help them understand what was going on.
Morgan led them to a huge archway with two wooden doors. She stopped and looked at them.
"I am afraid no book would help you tonight, Jack," she said.
Jack was startled that Morgan read his thoughts.
"Why not?" asked Annie.
"On all your other journeys, you visited real places and times in history," said Morgan. "Camelot is different."
"How?" said Jack.
"The story of Camelot is a legend," said Morgan. "A legend is a story that begins in truth. But then imagination takes over. Different people in different times tell the story. They use their imaginations to add new parts. That is how a legend is kept alive."

I believe what's being said here is that Camelot in MTH is an independent place from the normal timeline, it's an offshoot that was split off due to the stories that were told about it. Not a Lostbelt per se, but a separate layer like Avalon. To put this into FGO mechanics, it's almost like Camelot is itself a Heroic Spirit, it's a legendary location told about in stories to such a degree that people believe that it may have truly existed, even if we don't have enough information to prove its existence. How this all goes over in the story I don't know yet.

I do agree with you on the minor changes to the adventures being necessary. Especially as one of the places they visited was the first Olympic Games, so who knows, maybe they met a Divine Spirit or two there somehow. Again, I'm still formulating all of this in my head as we go.

Actually Fate's gone over something similar with mythical-Charlemagne and historical-Karl-der-Große. Heroic Spirits rather than location, but it actually fits in fairly well with existing timeline mechanics.
