Oh, and please let me know what ya'll think. First real Fate fight scene. So let me know what you think of it, and the chapter!
I've never seen an author capture the vibe of an
EMIYA scene the way you did. You did an amazing job creating the recognizable internal monologue and magical commands, as well as the copying of skills that imprint themselves onto him without understanding how, as well as hints to what might be driving his powers forward, leading to a climactic, seemingly doomed stand against an opponent so superior we might as well be cannon fodder to them, with the realization afterwards that we are A) alive and B) horribly mutilated as a result of abusing magic far beyond our current level.
I legitimately thought this would go the Sparks Liner High route of giving us an absurdly cool
EMIYA moment before making us "be a team player" and "trust in your servant(s) to finish the job in a tactically sound manner" like some nerd, but you said "Hell no!" to that and gave us an unexpected subversion of the Tiger Dojo while also confirming that Circe
is in physical contact with us and can apparently help us in battle somehow (not gonna question it). All in all, a banger of an update that pays off multiple established plot threads, shows your ability to imitate Nasu's classic style, and provides intrigue for future plot points while also making Shirou act like an... Archer. The only change I'd make is putting the actual Emiya theme into the text instead of making me find it myself on Youtube, because no
EMIYA moment is complete without it (seriously, would love it if you put in the Realta Nau version).
If you couldn't tell, I really like Shirou.
