Chapter 00

[Takeru's Perspective]
Fuyuki, Japan
February 2nd, 2004

Opening his Eyes Takeru turns to see the night sky "Must have woken up early" He figures, turning back to his side. It's been so long since he could just sleep, just rest. Why is that? He wonders for a moment as his head begins to ache, vague flashes of horrific events cloud his mind. "What a terrible dream". It's then, he hears shouting from outside.

"That house wasn't here before"

"No, it wasn't"

Two voices, women, they sound panicked, they sound crazy. "The house has always been here" he mumbles to himself, before shooting up and jumping out of his bed. "Meiya!" he shouts, to no reply.

Meiya Mitsurugi, Takeru's insanely rich and somewhat unusual friend. She has a habit of pulling odd stunts from flying in armies of chefs to make a school dinner for one to demolishing half a city to build a temporary mega-mansion. Who's to say she wouldn't pick up Takeru's house and drop it somewhere else?

Outside one of the young women hears his shout and readies her shrouded holy weapon "There is a person inside" the other simply nods and readies herself to enter the house but before she can the front door flies open.

Before him Takeru see's a young woman in blue wearing what can only be described as an armoured dress holding… something, something he simply can't see and a girl just a few years younger than he is holding her arm outstretched pointing towards him.

His headache begins to grow as he realises, this is not the first time he and his home have found themselves transported somewhere else.

Memories flood Takeru's mind, his arrival on an world devastated by Aliens. Joining the United Nations military, Training with his friends and watching them die off one by one as the world crumbled around him. The exodus of humanities best and brightest, abandoning the rest and the final battles of humanity against their mortal foe and eventually his death.

The memories aren't clear, but what he can remember fills him with a sense of loss. Now he finds himself somewhere new, yet again transported to another world.

He Screams out in anguish, "No, Not again" he falls to his knees, his cries surprising the Blonde Knight and Dark haired girl.

The dark haired girl is first to speak "Who are you" her tone is serious, but her face betrays a sense of concern. Not just for the boy who had recently just disappeared right in front of her, but also for the crying young man kneeling before her.

"Are you responsible for the disappearance of my Master?" the Blonde knight however shows far more aggression in her voice, she is ready to strike at any minute.

Takeru takes a few deep breaths in, remembering his training. Panicking, crying it won't help anyone right now, much less himself. "Where are we?" he says in a somewhat demanding tone.

The two girls are somewhat taken aback by the question, but it doesn't take them long at all to understand it wasn't just their Shirou Emiya who had been taken from his home. Relaxing somewhat, the dark haired girl in the red coat replies "Fuyuki City"

Fuyuki City? That didn't help much at all, Takeru had never heard of it. Though it's not like he knew the names of every city on the planet.

Seeing the confusion on Takeru's face, the blonde knight approaches him, offering him her hand "You are in the Nation of Japan, The year is 2004". She knew how it felt to be far from home, understanding his expressions all too well.

Taking her hand he stands to his feet "Thank you" Behind them the other girl had began doing… something to Takeru's house, looking closer she was placing a number of expensive looking jewels around the base of the building."What are you doing?"

Turning to face Shirogane she explains her actions, somewhat."This" She says in an overly dramatic way, gesturing to the house "is going to draw all kinds of attention. Attention we. don't. want." returning to her activity she continues talking "So i'm going to hide it!" True to her word the house begins to disappear, to takeru's complete surprise.

He had seen plenty of things that would shock and horrify most people from his world, Abandoned cities, human suffering on a colossal scale, Alien monsters, Giant humanoid weapons of war and far too much of his former physics teacher, but this? This was like something out of a fairy tale.

"All Done!" with those words from the young girl the entire house had disappeared, Shirogane could clearly hear her voice but could no longer see her. Walking out from behind whatever invisibility-field she had just set up the dark haired woman smiles, for a moment at the others seemingly very happy with her own work.

Placing her hand on Takeru's shoulder, the blonde knight says "We should talk"

[Shirou's Perspective]
Yokohama, Japan.
October 22nd, 2001

A Slight crack in the shed's door allows a freezing breeze into the room, coming close to waking the shivering Shirou Emiya. It's cold, the un-insulated Shed doing little to keep out the winter chill. With nothing but some tools and old pipes to keep him warm, It's a miracle Shirou hadn't gotten a cold, or worse.

The wind picks up, opening the thin door to the surprisingly spacious shed, finally waking Shirou from his well deserved sleep.

"Sakura?" Shirou says to himself, expecting to hear a reply from his trusted friend, instead all he can hear is the wind whistling by.

Cold nights sleeping on hard floors weren't unusual for Shirou Emiya, the result of pursuing his craft at the dead of night in the backyard Shed rather than sleeping in his house, what could be called a mansion.

It was rare Sakura wouldn't come by in the mornings, figuring he had just woken early Shirou decided to get up, twisting his back as he stands. "I'll get a start on Breakfast, give Sakura a break".

Reaching the door Shirou covers his eyes, the sun is high in the sky and causes him to wince at the brightness. Looking up he covers his eyes, noticing the position of the sun.

It is far later than he had expected, if Sakura hadn't came today then surely Taiga, his teacher and older sister surely would have woken him up. Shirou's mind suddenly begins to race but is stopped dead as he lowers his gaze forward, what he sees is not the rear of his home but instead the ruins of a Suburban japanese neighbour hood.

Ruined houses to the front, turning to his right he sees nothing but destruction as far as he can see,he stops, as if frozen, the memories of the fire 10 years ago flashing fresh in his mind, memories of buildings and people burned to nothing. It was as if he was standing in a living nightmare, one he would relive often in his sleep now brought to reality.

The world begins to spin, it's then he see's it. The Torso of a massive humanoid machine, even torn from it's body this ruined thing stands taller than all of the surrounding buildings. The front of the Torso is completely missing, as if ripped off. Scraped and scratches cover the machine, as if it was ravaged by some monster.

As if acting like a trigger of a gun, the Torso cause Shirous mental gears to begin spinning. Focusing away from his trauma and now onto what was laying before him. Breathing deeply and slowly he analyses what he can see.

Had he slept through some disaster or apocalyptic event? No, that's not possible. Even if it was, how could he have been so lucky to have his Shed be the only building around unaffected by whatever disaster had struck.

This isn't his home, the buildings despite being ruined clearly are not the same from his neighbourhood nor are they the ones he saw burn 10 years ago and that machine in front of him? Things like that simply don't exist, not yet at least.

Heading back into the Shed, Shirou collects all of his tools and places them into a tool kit, packing them, some sheets and a few pipes into a Bag.

Seeking to understand exactly where he is, Shirou begins climbing the Torso of the machine, leaving his bag on the street. Starting with the left arm and moving up, he eventually reaches the chest. Looking in he finds a bloodied Chair, thinking to himself that this must be some kind of Cockpit or driving seat for the machine.

Ignoring the seemingly grim fate of the pilot for now he moves on, almost losing grip on the shoulder catching himself on an inward facing dent. Pulling himself up Shirou finally reaches the head of the machine, the view from which looking like something out of a world war two documentary.

The city, whichever city it should be Is completely devastated invoking images of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It is as if this city was struck by a devastating weapon and has since lay abandoned.

Surveying the area the only sign of life Shirou can see is a building on the top of a hill, one that seems to have been spared by whatever destroyed this city. The building is large, reminiscent of a school or university, but sitting atop it is a large Radar Dish. If this building was a school at one point, it likely isn't anymore.

Thoughts of those closest to him fills his mind, If he is here then what about Taiga? Or Sakura? Or anyone else? They could have found themselves her or worse. Determined to find out what has happened, where he is and where his loved ones are Shirou plans on how to proceed.
