Fanfic Ideas
Overview
This is my fic ideas thread which I am making as for a while I have kept fic plans, progression and scenes largely in my head but haven't committed to seriously writing and so I am putting the overview of each of the more recent ones down as if I find the time to write a fic I would be unlikely to progress with more than 2. It is somewhat inspired by other similar drabble or similar fics I have read but will differ because it is going to be fic plans and ideas because from my personal reading of them it can be annoying reading large snippet collections which largely consist of one or two chapters that are written as the first chapters of a fic which means they contain a lot of content that is effectively pointless to read because it is say background information on the setting or its say stat sheets and system info and you know that it isn't a full fic and so won't matter once you finish the snippet.
 
Shikako possesses Rio in Arc-v
First of all there is the one of three that I have actually somewhat started. Following the trend in the DoS fandom I did a snippet that had her be reborn as Rio in Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V I had also written out a plan and largely finished the next update but it got corrupted leaving me with only the deck I constructed on duelling book that contains cards to use for her.

Shikako is the self insert from Dreaming of Sunshine one of the biggest Naruto fics with a community that has produced many fics using her. She is an intelligent and driven ninja who is reborn as Shikamaru's twin sister. The choice of her for this snippet instead of an oc or si of myself or someone else is largely to avoid metaknowledge and to use her capabilities since she is a trained ninja and highly capable in stealth even without chakra.

Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V was chosen both because it is the one I feel makes the most sense to write in; the original is Yugi's story which makes it awkward to significantly insert a character into, Gx has some promise but I would prefer writing in a more modern format with faster paced duelling, 5ds similar to the original has the problem of the fated opponents clash of the signers for the first part and then the team format of the second part, Zexal is possible but again taking a significant role would be awkward without interfering with Astral regaining the numbers and indeed Rio is actually from there but she has a rather minor role in the story that cannot be expanded without changing a lot of things and Vrains is in link format which I would prefer not to write about.

Rio herself is a good choice for a character to be inserted into especially one without metaknowledge because she canonically in zexal is a reincarnation the body she has in the current day is one her soul was moved into by a god after it died as a child. Granted this god did it because of its link to her twin and to save their souls but it does grant an opportunity especially when you shift into Arc-V and the importance it has as a Number decreases. Other explanations can also result from the fact the paired god did not act to save them or some such.

Rio herself is also somewhat of a wasted opportunity in zexal as one of the 7 Barian Emperors because she like most of them wasn't built up enough to feel like a threat. Out of the 7 Rio's twin who is their leader was essentially the only one who did come off as a big threat. If you were to be generous Alito did too but he wasn't allowed to shine since they had him use Leadblow in an aggressive way which didn't take advantage of it properly and only in his initial duel when he was hiding being a Barian and so not using numbers and Mizeal has Tachyon Dragon which is powerful but his main deck monsters suck and make it hard to take him seriously.

Arc-V though is a setting ripe for exploring because it has a certain protagonist bias where things work out for him when they really shouldn't such as his subpar speeches actually converting people. Placing Rio in thusly allows exploration into the xyz dimension and a fic that addresses what the fusion dimension and several others do without letting them escape punishments which fits Shikako's character. Due to this the fic would progress with seeing her grow up and show off the dimension and characters before the fusion dimension invades and then progress into canon with her either joining Yuto and Shun into going to standard or staying as part of the resistance. Shikako's own capabilities also allow the touching of the diminished aspects around spirits.

Shikako herself would start with generic water cards before she builds a deck for herself, this would develop into her having a deck based around penguins and ice counters as per Alexis in the manga. After getting involved in the spirit side of the verse she would be attracted to ninjas and keep them as a side deck for spirit stuff and a deniable asset while she encounters the ice-barrier spirits and works on gaining their approval but can't publicly use them since they are a synchro deck. Things would then skip forward towards around canon with her able to use some of the ice barrier cards but lacking some mainly trisula which she would work on gaining during canon. During the invasion Shikako would disguise herself and use the ninja deck for important things she wouldn't want tied back to her like trying to infiltrate the fusion base.

Knowing what I now know it would also be interesting to see a 5ds version that follows more along the lines of the dropped plotlines involving the Arcadia Movement due to the scandal involving Carly's voice actress. Since Shikako has a theme in such fics of having a twin inserting into Luna does provide the needed tie to the first half and could take the exploration of her being forced onto the side-lines because of her age.

Gajeel is Shirou Reborn
The second of the ones I have somewhat started it came about because I saw a one shot that had Natsu as reborn Shirou who remembers his past life during the fight against Sting and Rogue and responded that Gajeel would be more fitting power wise and got challenged into writing it. I did have this planned out and the start written but the laptop it was on died and realised that I was more interested in padding the Fairy Tail verse than the concept itself and felt like I was trying a bit too much to excuse Gajeel's actions in phantom lord.

The fic started with Gajeel before his attack on the guild base being hesitant on actually doing it which then began to launch into a flashback why. In this fic I was going to have the magic council and rune knights as a bigger thing and had an oc wizard saint who is with the council fight him shortly before the fic is set which the flashback covers. Gajeel loses this fight which lessens his arrogance somewhat and the saint reveals that they know that Phantom Lord is going to attack due to overhearing comments and putting it together since the council was willing to let them which is due to them disliking Fairy Tail. The saint impresses on Gajeel the actual power differences between the guild and Phantom Lord's fate afterwards if it goes too far such as a guild war or using something like Jupiter along with calling the hate unnatural and making comments on what guild marks could do with the right knowledge. Gajeels time in Phantom Lord is also explored through the mission he is on at the time as the saint and some other rune knights are involved in the case.

This would cause Gajeel to question it to Jose who would reveal his obsession in his response and point out the consequences for not doing so. This returns to the present with Gajeel's doubts about winning and the fight itself since Jose revealed being willing to use Jupiter and Abyss Break on Magnolia if that's what it took to one up them which he's uncomfortable with but hopes just taking Lucy would end it. Later on this also makes Gajeel more invested in retaking Lucy since he doesn't think they'll beat Jose with Makarov down and the other S class mages absent since he had briefly fought Erza in the counterattack but is uncomfortable with it. When he returns with Lucy though and finds out how far Jose has escalated and isn't going to back off he goes off to think which results with him turning on Jose.

He leaves the guarding of Lucy by saying he's going to head off Natsu for the fight and to keep it away from Lucy but goes to fight Jose himself, he ends up passing Natsu and tells him where Lucy is and passes it off as Natsu not being worth fighting since he wouldn't even be able to beat Lucy's guards and he's going after a better opponent. Natsu initially gets mad but prioritises Lucy having actually realised Gajeel turning because of him having erased his guild mark. Gajeel jumps into the fight alongside Erza, Elfman and Grey and they are able to manage somewhat against him since Jose wants to draw out their suffering though it turns into just him and Erza. During the fight Gajeel starts tapping into Reinforcement on himself due to his actions getting UBW going since he is trying to save someone. This causes Jose to escalate since they are able to press him a bit since Natsu and Lucy joined in and he finally realises Gajeel erased his guild mark when he tries to use a function to cause pain so he gets mad. Despite Gajeel getting better at reinforcement since his early attempts caused his iron dragon slayer moves he was boosting to lose durability they are still on the losing side. Jose gets enraged and fires a more powerful spell at Lucy after his canon rant and Gajeel moves to tank it, getting overpowered he is barely able to redirect it but gets sent flying out of the base injured which is when Makarov enters and is enraged at Jose.

Gajeel survives but is injured and returns to the base fairy tail attacked to eat scraps and take jobs and other valuables. Conflicted over his actions especially with the return of his magecraft moving his character more towards Shirou's and having to deal with the stigmata of erasing your own guild mark and turning on your guild, he resolves to handle the S class jobs the base had by himself for free without using his dragon slayer magic just some equipment he found and magecraft as penance.
 
Corrin power Si in bnha
This idea is for a self insert fic set in Boku no Hero Academia featuring a self insert of myself who has the powers of Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates. This comes about because bnha has quite a few fics that I've read including self inserts but few that I enjoy to any great degree largely due to repeating of a few things which I don't particularly approve of or got tired of and Corrin has a rather nice powerset.

Corrin debuts in Fates and owing to their dragon blood possesses abilities above the norm. To begin with there is the ability to use dragon veins which are specific points the the land that can be triggered to create a wide variety of effects although each is a fixed application that can't be chosen from creating healing areas, altering nature such as draining a river or extending a cliff to create a path across a canyon, smashing debris or even fixing broken buildings. While powerful and useful this is limited in that each vein is often single use and has a fixed application that cannot be changed and is dependant on there being a vein in the first place so it is not something to rely on.

More significantly Corrin's dragon inheritance is a lot stronger than usual which allows them to transform either fully or partially into a dragon. The partial transformations are also not linear like say Jake Longs where he just partially adopts his dragon form but are able to be mixed to a degree. Most prominently are the arms which can be transformed into a spear like shape which can be stretched out at high speed or the arms can have draconic mouths at the end of them which are capable of biting and firing blasts. These blasts are of Corrin's 2 main elements water which is largely limited to chargeable projectile spheres but is shown in other media like smash and warriors to have other uses such as a breath weapon in dragon form, Corrins up special which propels them diagonally and unleashing some on all sides of the dragon form. The other element is some form of dark energy which could be considered to be shadow or dark element. This can be used to fire energy beams, spread to an area during the transformation or to augment attacks.

Since this is already a lot of variety and power for a bnha power this is also where I would stop and not not give any more general Fire Emblem powers and abilities like say the astra skill or staves or magic which Corrin can learn unless they are on the more minor side such as possessing the Yato sword. I would also provide limitations more in line with what quirks have to be exact the water would be specified to be being pulled from Corrin's body or the surroundings making using it vary due to the amount of available water in the atmosphere. It is also canon that Fire Emblem dragons aren't that stable or good at controlling their power which leads to madness if they do not seal it within a dragonstone. In fates itself Corrin when Corrin fully transforms for the first time their anger they were experiencing is amplified and they go into an almost berserk state that after defeating the source of the anger still causes them to lash out at a comrade before they received a dragonstone letting them control it which would be unavailable. This means that partial transformations and use of the elements would still be possible but fully transforming would be risky and hard to control.

In the fic I would explore further uses of Corrin's powers than any shown in games for example while Corrin has an extensive list of partial transformations and uses of them to my knowledge there is none using the legs or tail. I would also as a cost of such a high power for the setting remove all knowledge of the verse but and would explore areas of self inserts not normally covered like thinking about why especially with a power set recognised and held to be significant because as the bearer of the Yato Corrin is destined to be the one to end the conflict and bring peace. I would also make it use some of the fates characters since as Corrin's mother while not a queen still being a noble with the Hoshidan royals as family and possibly use some like Zola, Iago or Hans as villains.

On the bnha side I would explore aspects I find somewhat lacking in fics such as how the extra characters are added in, well it is true Bakugo and mainly Mineta do have undesirable behaviour which could in an altered sequence of events mean they aren't chosen I personally don't approve of this largely because while doesn't satisfactorily address it it is canon hero candidates and those with powerful quirks are given a lot of slack. Personally I would use the canon knowledge to work out who to replace we know the test has the mixture of the physical exam and a paper one.

I would discount Aizawa's day one quirk test rankings largely because its scoring is probably based on personal decision rather than some system like first is 20 points like I see some theorise. This is mainly because Midoriya is last his score in the ball throw is second and he is in pretty good shape its worth pointing out although we don't see too much of the scores and largely just people getting really good ones due to his training in the sprint Midoriya got a faster time than Uraraka who had used her quirk to make her clothes weightless. Similarly there are several people whose quirks aren't going to help too much in most or even all of the events but he was still last.

The main evidence I would consider is general intelligence and the 1-A class academic class rankings from their midterm results (although allowing slight slack for Ashido and Kaminari who forgot to study due to all the craziness which they undoubtedly would have for the actual entrance exam) for the paper exam and we have the top 10 of the practical test. Granted there are some weird ones that got through the author actually included in a manga a note than Mineta got through because disabling the robots such as with his balls counts for points which I thought was obvious given rescue points but there's some odd ones like Hagakure who is just invisible or the ones like Sato who face stamina issues in using their quirks in a drawn out manner.

More specifically I would consider any of those in the top 10 safe and unable to be removed short of doing something like butterflying away Midoriya taking out the 0 pointer along with any other character who is both smart and shouldn't have a problem with the physical exam. For example Asui is 6th in the midterms, Jiro is 7th and Ojiro is 8th and none of them should have issues in the practical and so should not be removed. I would then consider the 4 recommended slots and if they are going to be altered whether by having a new character take a spot such as an oc or si or having Inasa stick around and consider how whoever gets removed would take it mainly if they would go for the normal exam in which case they are all fairly likely to pass.

Using who is left and the previous considerations I would then consider who is likely to be in danger of being removed such as those at the bottom of the midterm results who are actually in danger. Krishima for example came 15th but since he came 2nd in the practical even if slack is given to the bottom 2 who forgot to study he's still not in danger. I would also consider those who cover niches and important plot roles meaning those like Sato (12th in midterm) whose total importance has basically come down to winning the room competition cause he bakes would be a lot more likely to be removed than say Sero who was 17th who is likely to do better in the physical and has multiple moments of plot relevance and getting to show off a bit.

In the more general sense of a bnha fic I would have the si if they were in ua be more suspicious of Midoriya especially as more details pile in and be far less prone to helping him or otherwise giving him cheap power ups. I would also have the si actually be more worried about the league and winning in fights. This is largely because the Nomu's have a lot of stuff that is brushed over generally like its power level and in how its referred to also that people usually go with Midoriya's I didn't break my arm cause I was punching at a person and probably held back subconsciously because of it when I would point out he hit the nomu with shock absorption and basically functions as a sandbag so it makes sense he took less damage as opposed to hitting the 0 pointer. Tomura and kurogiri would also be of concern because of how they and several other bnha main villains are to borrow worm terminology annihilators.
 
Miyuverse Shirou fics
The version of Shirou that is Miyu's brother is used in some fics mainly in the context of the wish he made for Miyu's happiness dragging him along to another setting either with her or not which I will this use for three verses to place into. This version of Shirou is simply interesting because he is the strongest non servant Shirou shown based on both feats and that he was actually trained as an assistant to Kiritsugu which means his circuits haven't suffered from not being used and he can reasonably be given some extra magecraft knowledge and capabilities especially in what Kiritsugu knows about such as defeating magic defences. His personality is also slightly different being that he abandoned being a hero of justice for the sake of Miyu.

Personally though I feel there is untapped potential in this version as the few fics that use him tend to focus on the same things like him abandoning being a hero and caring about Miyu such as searching for her if she isn't with him. This however ignores some rather key things and leaves them unexplored such as that their world is dying; there is a dead zone that anything in it dies and global climate problems. Fuyuki itself is a key example since the implications are that its in winter pretty much constantly, their primary school gets shut and the archery club is just Shirou and Sakura when the main timeline has Shinji, Ayako and numerous other members. This Shirou then should therefore have some degree of culture shock if he appears in a city as other fics have him over the normal weather and there being so many people.

The first verse I'd consider placing him in is Fire Emblem Fates because of the nice contrast he makes in how much he gave up for his siblings happiness and thats what he wanted for them to the rather shocking way the other royals treat Corrin. So her has proper context I would have the wish tug him along still injured from the fights either directly into the Astral realm as Corrin is resting there for the first time or appear in front of Corrin before the border fight which he would take part in but either way would know of those events since Corrin would provide context. The fic would probably be without Miyu because of the heavy combat making having her a 9 year old unsuited for taking part as anything other than a healer especially since it is a war so they would largely be aiming for the kill in certain battles.

Shirou would of course cause large changes because of not letting things slide such as the Ganglari being detected as bad or having the common sense to recommend getting rid of it after it tried to pitch Corrin into the canyon. He would also serve as a semi neutral view point though it would come up he appears Hoshidan he would be accepted though because of them knowing about outrealms. Although its true Ganglari wouldn't be as bad the attack on the capital would still occur and the Nohrians would still attack despite the barrier existing it doesn't cover the whole country as in the border fort itself Nohrians could fight. This means when it comes to picking the path conquest would be out because of the 4 different attempts to kill Corrin by Garron at this point which he would actually use against the Nohrian royals about how stupid it would be for Corrin to go back given the odds Garron would just kill them.

That said he also wouldn't be that keen on siding with the Hoshidans either given he would know info from Ganglari and the other troops that attack the capital and would also point out how ridiculous the Hoshidans are in their own views towards Corrin. Overall this would thusly lead into the revelations route but with the royals not being as hostile and the explanations being a lot better about their vague claims using actual logic such as pointing out Ryoma has already seen the kind of troops they talk about, indirectly referring to the threat and actually saying there is a curse.

The second verse is RWBY and would have him appear in Vale pre-canon. In this fic Shirou would be focused on taking care of Miyu likely through a not strictly legal job but would be unable to keep his head down. This is due to him being with Miyu meaning the class cards are there, to get around the lack of Sapphire I would have the cards appear before certain targets as the alter forms they are fought in canon Shirou himself would have the Archer card manifest due to compatibility. Shirou would have to collect the cards due to their potential for misuse and giving away details if someone stumbles on install but due to the tech level would take efforts to disguise himself leading to him basically becoming a vigilante.

His involvement with the cast would differ from the normal as he would be in Vale pre-canon and Blake would be his neighbour in their apartment building due to her laying low and needing to get her application sorted. For the other cards I had been considering the rider, caster or assassin card appearing before her and she would stumble on install possibly from observing Shirou being pushed into installing Archer against one of the others but this would give her the basic knowledge on them and she too would focus on searching for the rest although I hadn't decided if she'd directly team up with Shirou or not. Shirous would though teach Miyu magecraft for her protection and ideally get her a class card for her protection Saber or Caster would be his preferred.

More generally the class cards and Shirou himself solve the main issues a rwby fic has to face both because there are things that could possibly kill, petrify or seal her with Caster Salem but as I see it the grimm are the larger problem mainly the pools that continually spawn more. While the silver eyes may wipe those out the cards offer other options through magecraft or just hitting them with an Excaliblast.

The Third verse is Tate no yuusha and would have him chosen by the bow meaning it would summon him instead of the wish. The bow would have the context to know that the Ainsworth's are actually a huge threat making Shirou an actual hero for getting Miyu out of their hands and while his origin is sword this Shirou did have the archer card installed for a while right before and synchronised with Archer plus Itsuki is a parody of the Shirou hero of Justice type. It should also be said if it were written anime fans would be disappointed because I would probably follow the web novel and if not the manga because the anime is not a very satisfying adaptation if you have access to the others because it makes changes to make Naofumi and his party seem better and the other heroes worse along with adding in fanservice stuff but at the cost of things like butchering Rishia's introduction.

There are other fics that have some variation on this but this would differ by being the bow hero which only has one crack one with Shirou summoned as it. This is fairly significant as while the heroes are more powerful than normal residents Shirou would have to adapt to being a purely long range combatant or learn other short range options. It would also address issues I have with canon and fics namely that I find it silly that fic writers make the already very strong cardinal heroes and main characters stronger when canon actually has a ton of power up options that aren't properly explored and so could be instead of inventing your own though part of it also seems to be reading fics that create their own and then thinking they are canon. This is not a joke towards the end the web novel's power curve gets insane because power ups keep getting thrown at the group. For example the 8 vassal weapons get redistributed so they are all allies and it is discovered that each has a power up method that can be used by all of which a few are briefly explained, moved on from and never returned to. This extends to Naofumi too since people like coming up with ways to give him offensive stuff when there's a simple broken answer the skill gained from weapon copying an iron shield is little used in canon and rarely in fics its called shield bash as a starter skill it does low damage but its low cost and more importantly delivers a 2 second stun with a 3 second cooldown which is insanely good.

To be honest I feel if you are going to do that stuff you might as well go for the obvious and I don't mean the shield's power up methods is a trust based stat boost or the sharing of methods in the web novel the only mention of what it actually is is a comment of oh btw the shield's power up method is trust after the power up spree had concluded in Naofumi and Raphatalia becoming gods and fully committing to their sword and shield roles. Naofumi for example permanently gave up the possibility of ever doing damage for basically infinite defence and letting allies use his def stat for calcs. This means that I would have Shirou through the bow be able to project lord Camelot and use it as a tool to summon servants though I would limit it for number of servants based on his level and have them drain his mp in addition to getting locked into archers by the nasu definition which is fitting since the holy bow can copy and become a gun. Through this I would also include servant and hero series based on buffing servants and cardinal heroes basically being like the companion or filorial boosters.

Regarding the plot as the bow hero Shirou would get the second worst party by default with Mald and the church cultists who canonically are sycophants but despite having the bow he'd be able to do the prove his strength thing because they'd underestimate him.
 
Tinker of Fiction
Tinker of Fiction is a fairly small set of worm si fics that take the premise of getting the powerful power of being a tinker whose specialty is a fictional setting which changes allowing for them to become a top tier cape within a few months. However, there are limitations to this: firstly the si is placed in vista's situation of not being taken seriously due to being young and is thus reduced into being an 11-13 year old; secondly the specialties have to switch settings usually either at a fixed time such as every 2 weeks or between 1-3 weeks the tinker can switch it but it will automatically shift at the end of that period; thirdly the specialities are not chosen by the tinker they are rolled from a list although some fics allow sub lists such as give me healing or teleportation capable stuff and each specialty is unavailable for the next 2 rolls after it is rolled; fourthly the tinker is a tinker which means they do need to spend time maintaining their stuff, resources and build time along with requirements to actually tinker; finally the tinker is placed in the scenario of having their parents just killed by car crash and sent to live with the Heberts in Feburary due to being Taylor's cousin.

I find this a fairly interesting topic to explore because there are limitations to keep the power from being too ridiculous outside of author choices in them giving too much leeway with some stuff such as having objects that give you JRPG classes that you canonically need to use a lot to unlock their powers let anyone use them at full power right from the start. A self insert in worm of myself would also be somewhat unique because of my fairly unique experience with it. I got into worm because it kept cropping up in recs and good authors writing it so I checked some crossovers out, read some cyoas, si fics and a few alt powers before reading canon. This effected my perspective a lot because the ones in general I had read while some spoilers had been picked up like Cauldron, scion and so on several like shadow stalker hadn't been and I'd strongly seen fanon repeated giving false impressions.

This means I for example have a very low opinion of Taylor, going in I'd heard a lot of her determination, crazy min maxing, brilliance and general awesomeness with such things as her unequalled queen of escalation and statements like with just bug control she killed a god. Needless to say it meant canon was fairly disappointing I actually had to take breaks from reading early on and even put it down for a year right before levi because canon Taylor and the undersiders are idiots making it hard to read. For example my expectations on the first lung fight based on the fics was Taylor single handily beats him using clever traps to do things like tie silk cords to heavy weights and knock them off buildings so things like weapons go flying and heavy use of insect venom. The actual fight turns into Taylor bull rushing him by just throwing all her insects at him, moving them into any vulnerable place she can and doing as much damage as she can with biting, clawing and stinging and it takes a while before she moves beyond this.

It would also make an interesting premise because while I do not think highly of the inhabitants I would still be driven into helping out because of the end of the world and that the upcoming events would directly effect me and my ability to tinker and prepare for them. I would also be forced to engage with and help Taylor because practically speaking hiding being a cape is impossible for the needed time from her and Danny and it would be best to stop her bringing trouble back with her such as by having her id exposed or getting involved with the undersiders altering canon really wouldn't bother me too much because its all a massive sequence of dominos anyway that the odds of anything past levi happening the same are 0 and the canon ending is unsatisfying to me and so extremely unlikely to happen it should not be banked on.

Generally this would also explore other differences from normal worm things because there's lot of unexplored areas such as Asian capes in the bay, since the prt and protectorate suck and regularly do scummy things that people should be unhappy with as standard practice why not actually use that by say people being unhappy with it and the few times these actions are brought up and protested they are swiftly dismissed and not brought up again. This also shapes my view on how the si would act I see the prt as an inevitable enemy because even beyond knowing Cauldron and Piggot are in charge and the various reasons thats bad I can't stand the scumminess that they have as standard operating procedure along with being an introvert meaning I'd hate all the pr events in general but all that compounded by the ticking doomsday clock I would adamantly refuse joining or giving them anything on my tech (especially due to revelations on how they treat tinkers) which given the inevitable power level and their attitude they wouldn't tolerate.

Fortunately though this does swing some things in my favour such as how the whole if Danny finds out he immediately tries to sign them up for the wards is honestly overdone and doesn't have that solid of a canon basis and as I would encourage thought on the matter from Taylor since it can't be hidden and will cause problems he wouldn't have the standard finds out in a bad way factor. However, this and many things would probably lead to butting heads with Taylor somewhat since I have a low opinion of her and wouldn't want to let her call the shots especially if it comes to things like giving her tinker tech which she would push for given her escapism desires to have a cape life where she accomplishes something completely separate from her civilian one.

The exact way the fic progress cannot actually be said because the specialisations would change the way the fic progresses and I would want to wait for at least the next specialty before doing any cape things anyway. What I would do though is have the fic actually start in late January with the three blasphemies having imitated shatterbird since they are s9lite which causes the car accident and kills them off due to fresh triggers beating throwing off their plans. The si would take over from right after the explosion with Huntik as the specialty and use debris from the house that can reasonably be disposed of such as the spare laptop to make a cypherdex and a holotome for safety. Since the cypherdex can be considered to be airgapped and not able to interact with other devices in any way which combined with the summoning and dismissing make it good for private stuff and the holotome while still desired to be secret can be used for things like normal browsing. The rest of the time would be on making basic amulets like kipperin (which would also be part of the not so great relationship with Taylor since her and QA would be like the finding nemo seagulls clamouring over it while the si would feel the control attempt due to being linked with kipperin and not react well to Taylor's attitude regarding it) , Icarus and freelancer and picking up spells.

I picked Huntik to start because it is a solid foundation that would still see use after several specialties in several areas such as giving a safe computer, personal abilities the titans as added combatants although not very high ones since only basic titans would be allowed since I'd scale things like resources needed and build time against things like relative power level, rarity and size. That said it would still be basic and not that highly useful because none of it is very high level in worm context and is actually bad since hyper stride and dragon fist are very short boosts when worm powers don't really normally work like that and the standard master counter is take out the master.

I would have it differ by having the si moved for a bit into a more public orphanage while accommodations are made. While waiting it would be implied that arrangements could be made for capes along with the suits and kings men showing up to try to tempt capes into coming forward and keeping an eye out for those showing signs of powers such as tinkering, thinker headaches or the more physical changes like enhanced strength. I would also introduce a character who would continue into the fic as someone would be based on someone I vaguely know and have interacted with but due to the differences with things like the si's age would be closer to and they would and be hinted to be a new cape in the bay rather than stick to the normal cast despite knowing that there's unknown capes still in the bay or never used ones such as dovetail.
 
Celestial Menagerie
The celestial menagerie is a power set fic that a character usually an si is given by a repetitive of an unspecified powerful group on the basis that their soul has the extremely rare property of being compatible with it. Based on words written charge is built up and used on rolls for creatures to summon and related powers. Based on this I have constructed a set of requirements for the verse it is set in considering it from the perspectives of the beings sending the person to and as a writer.

1: No verse that the menagerie contains as a set that makes it an instant win for example pokemon since you can go around with more than 6 and wrack up legendries fairly easily or any setting with a low power level since its held that combat makes the soul grow faster and it wouldn't really be interesting to write about a menagerie fic in a normal world with no real or mundane level combat. The exception would be if its a verse where there is some low power supernatural action that's in a short timeframe. This would be done either as a starting world, between worlds or during a lull in the action such as a long timeskip if the author desired. Additionally since the stated goal of the menagerie is as a backup storage of creatures for the sake of preservation in the case of extinctions it is logical they would send the bearer to a world that is at risk of some extinctions happening.

2: No verse with soul effecting attacks or changes: The person with the menagerie is chosen for them having the extremely rare property in their soul so the beings doing the sending aren't going to send them to a world that could destroy the soul or the property that they need.

3: No verse with a high power level: While combat does make the soul grow faster it takes time for the menagerie to grow and get anything decent therefore any verse with crazy strong stuff either uniformly or that has to be dealt with quickly especially in verses where they are likely to go for the kill right away. This again is somewhat different if it done as not the first world.

4: No instant losses: No placing in a location or situation that is going to or even highly likely to cause an instant death such as appearing at the start of a story line that involves the protagonist surviving something such as a natural disaster or very powerful enemy.

5: No properties that invalidate most of the menagerie from helping: Certain verses have the enemies having certain properties that requires something else to beat Symphogear for example has the noise that are unaffected by mundane things or Bleach has the enemies being spiritual beings that require spiritual powers to even see.

From these considerations I looked over my list made for tinker of fiction of possible specialities with additions for any verses I have subsequently gotten into and came up with 4 that meet these criteria: Worm, Final Fantasy 10, Final Fantasy 12 and Bravely Default. Worm then got discarded due to the fact that all bar one menagerie fics are in it and Final Fantasy 10 followed soon after because what you could call the life cycle there is messed up in that when people die unless a summoner performs a sending they are unable to go to their afterlife and either become an unsent if they possess strong will or a fiend and the menagerie has no readily available solution other than wait until you gain something that lets you leave the planet and hope its something with the planet as is implied by commentary of the people doing so and their descendants being the people of ff7.

To help with the decision though I did brief plans for each to see where it would go. With ff10 I decided to start in Luca to avoid the early Sin attacks and give time to adjust to the verse which would allow for a reasonable amount of power before canon caught up (which could be easily found out if its before the party gets there) but would consider heading to Killika if a creature was rolled early that could counter the flooding or help with recovery. Due to the heavy attention on Yuna's party staying with them would not be done but efforts against yevon would still be undertaken such as nudging the party to think on some things or helping other groups.

For ff12 again the main party would be stayed away from to allow build up and avoid attention. Given meta knowledge the Occuria would still be considered an enemy and the aim would be to counter them, destroying the sun cryst is still a good option but in canon they still get left with options and ways to influence things. Unfortunately they are immortal with the only known way to kill one being dependant on killing them while they are possessing and empowering someone which they don't do. A fic in this one would thusly be of trying to be an adventurer but obviously struggling due to the power level of the monsters meaning exposing the menagerie would have to be risked often or forming a party with trusted people. Revenant wings and a2 tactics could also be used for lore and plot such as character powers or the Gira race or the various classes.

Out of these three though Bravely Default would be the one chosen because of it not having such issues although I would wish to find the time to play the third game first. The plot idea would be to start in the Eastern half of the map so the way could be made to the Yulyana woods to see the sage to confide in, hope to gain an asterisk from and to find out where in the plot it has appeared. Those who have played the game will be able to work out why. I would also play around with some interesting things with the verse such as celestials having its own definition and some of the characters who could be expected to pick up on the mc.

However, having subsequently played the revelations path of fire emblem fates, learned the origin of the risen in awakening and thusly reconsidered Radiant Dawn these 3 Fire Emblem verses would also be considered and possibly done instead probably using some of the general ideas I've spoken about in conversations with others over the years. This would be because I following the extinction preference I considered it as cases that the beings would care about since they would care about general adventuring and life in such worlds like the final fantasy games aside from the ones with planetary threats or actual extinction on the line. Awakening thusly gets back in because of the risen being revealed to me as being confirmed to be undead, Fates for actually having Extinction on the table and Radiant Dawn being willing to stretch it to allow. These are not even that bad because they could be done as lower powered starter worlds to allow build up before tackling the Bravely Default since when you apply logic a lot of stuff gets buffed and are also not that long to cover or again during the timeskips between games since Fates wraps up in half a year with Radiant Dawn probably about the same and while Awakening is longer if inserted from the start the big bad could be jumped to or shut down earlier with the metaknowledge. For those interested I also did some dummy rolls which would probably need to be scrapped because the starter creature I got was the Bronto from Dragon Age which has since been removed.
 
Bravely Travelling (Worm/Bravely Default)
Technically an older idea I had a while ago and didn't bother with but I'll put it here anyway.

The Travellers in worm are a nomadic group that sees very little attention and most of that is focused on hating their leader and their situation mainly in the sense of the big problem that can cause a large threat one member poses. This is somewhat of a shame since they posses a very unique viewpoint in worm and contain one of the few characters that can be called good while also containing a few more who might be but don't really show up enough to judge them. Their membership is also amusing in the sense its surprising how little the whole hidden member of the travellers is meme'd. Generally a fic that mentions the travellers having an extra or hidden member will name one of three candidates.

This is because they will name Noelle as the big hidden threat who is not known to the in verse public, Cody who is not widely known in the fandom due to being shipped off to the yangban pre-canon but is relevant due to being a ziz bomb aimed at atking accord during the endbringer truce or very rarely Oliver the one who had the other half of Noelle's vial which was the balance part and does background stuff due to his lacking power though is occasionally mentioned due to it being the prevent mutations part and how the entities appear as human. There is actually a fourth though as their group in Aleph had an extra member but shortly after getting sent to bet by ziz the building tips over which is what causes Noelle's injury that sets up the later desperation causing them to actually go for drinking the power vials but this additional guy got squished and died.

This does naturally present the opportunity for diverting the course of the travellers as triggers can't be predicted so he could trigger which would throw off ziz's plan or be a moment for one of the whole great power chooses to help someone fics rather than just defaulting to picking Taylor. This fic would thus use this extra member as the protagonist in a crossover with Bravely Default although whether through a self insert as that member for all his life or in the standard celestial saves someone way bravely default has (although the celestial would be more active in communicating and helping out than in the games similar to the new crossover).

The Bravely Default power is this case would have game and gamer like attributes to adapt the actual game's mechanics and content so there would be things like screens to help visualise the information of the jobs and abilities although specific stat numbers wouldn't be referred to. Jobs would be adapted to being in the way of infinite dendrogram where to qualify each would have 3 criteria related to the job to unlock and would be useable after all are met although freelancer is free. Characters from Bravely Default would also appear where it makes sense like the adventure. Based on how the story goes and final decisions Madison on bet could also fill the rebuild city minigame roll although in this sense it would be more in the adventurer is rewarding you for the work and expanding what they'll sell you rather than the shops sell those things and you upgrade them to expand their wares you can then buy.

Bravely Default is a pretty powerful verse with several useful things for dealing with worm since beyond healing one aspect it has is buffed versions of bosses that have defence stats maxed and so need other means of damaging such as this atk deals fixed damage or can ignore their defence. A limit is also placed on the power since there would not be monsters running around to beat up to grind on. While death is not necessary to gain exp the amount gained scales to the opponents power level and amount of effort they are putting in meaning that while jobs could till probably grind jexp fine the main levels would stay low especially if a party system was used although it would be limited to 4 as in game with 5 being the absolute most if I were being generous and either not counting the protag or using the fact one battle has a guest.

This is also basically the only reason a self insert is considered instead of just using the character into an oc granted the power at that moment in the normal way because Madison is not really a good start for dumping new powers like that on and dealing with explaining them to the guy since time is short and its not a beginner area. On the view of doing it as a self insert i would still be pretty limited even with the fact that it could be worked out your in worm even if on aleph gm or the ziz transfer can't be overly prepared for since aleph has few capes and are weaker which limits the exp that can be gained and the jobs would be limited in what could be unlocked without suspicion and in terms of the lack of jexp meaning it'd be better to focus on a few jobs and get them to a good level especially if the adventurer doesn't show up before that point to sell equipment.

The story then would thusly start if it were the si option with introductory stuff and a brief mention of their efforts and background with the other members before covering the transfer to bet which is where it would start in the normal case. The power whether through default or the celestial entering the guys body and letting him survive would let him survive what may have been ziz killing them off and derail her plan and would then focus on the self insert having to try and deal with being in charge and taking charge due to having powers and having knowledge of cape stuff and the situation, guide the oc who just got the power or with the oc doing the they are unconscious cause of it bit which may be used for communication with them. It would regardless put the oc in the position of tentative temporary leader because it is worth saying that out of all of them only Jess had vague knowledge of bet and ziz and she wasn't keen on sharing so with greater knowledge whether indirect or not and having powers especially if its the self insert option and thus probably has some healing option and so can heal Noelle but would have friction because even without ziz Cody and Krouse are dicks who would jockey for leadership and don't get on along with being on the outside of the circle as this guy is canonically either a reserve member or just one of Marissa's friends.

From there staying in the city is possible because of wanting to fix it or being unable to escape especially if the gaining of the vials is disrupted but the general advice from me would be bail ASAP to get way from the large threat of ziz, escape being a ziz bomb and both the doming of the city and being in said city with probable ziz bombs. In the larger sense it would then be on travelling around with the exact happenings depending on exact implementation or fixing up the city if they stay.
 
Jujutsu Issei (fsn x jjk)
A recent reddit thread posited the idea of a fate rewrite that makes Issei an important character. I would do so by using the fact he is a monk at the temple to have them actually know magic of an eastern theme. This leads to Jujutsu Kaisen being used as a basis for what they can do and use. JJK would be converted into nasu terms with them using raw od, innate techniques being sorcery traits and curses not forming as a result of the energy but if included would be from the negativity.

In terms of abilities as someone related to the head of the temple Issei could be given the fairly standard abilities like talisman use including shikigami, new shadow style techniques, cursed tools, barrier abilities like the curtain and even an innate technique probably 10 shadows. This would give him enough to face the masters and a few tricks he could pull out against the servants. Another possibility is borrowing ofuda techniques from things like twin star exorcists because of 10 shadow's shadow storage ability and the weight hinderance meaning ofuda stashes could be held there along with the physical enhancement boosts.

For the story due to being in the temple Issei would be aware of the war because of them noticing it occurring and the messy end of the 4th war which would also cause them to know something was up due to the cursed ground which they would have been working to purify due to it forming curses.

Caster also goes to the temple so she would be an allied servant due to them being able to supply energy to her through items and advanced manipulation and would help them get through the defences on the greater grail which they'd want to check on given their combined knowledge and work out it was corrupted and so work to gather information and deal with it while pretending not to know. This would also benefit both of them from Caster's construction abilities due to them already having magical things which Caster can enhance and make better things from which would be very powerful when combined with her reinforcement.

Issei would be on campus the night of the Emiya vs Cu fight at the school due to sensing the blood fort and be working to deal with the sigils possibly with remote contact to Caster. Issei would be doing this due to the importance of contracts and him being the student council president possibly even being tied to a restriction vow like Nanami's overtime. He would go to the roof during their pre fight dialogue and ask them to move before fighting along with throwing some polite insults about not having any concealment effects up and take a stance of not being a master or wanting to be one due to his distrust of Tohsaka and not knowing if they made the grail cursed all along. He would also try and set up a binding vow that in exchange for not harming any students or school property he would provide the veil.

Unfortunately, Cu went the route of mage's must die before they can be the last master in canon and Rin and him don't get on so they wouldn't accept. The fight would still happen largely as canon since Rin would have archer step in since she wouldn't want him to die despite not liking each other but would disguise it by wanting the veil put up. Issei would back off to stay out of the way and observe them before Shirou showed up where he'd intervene to save him protesting he knows Emiya is a magus so allowed to not be killed for seeing it.

However, while Rin would again seize the excuse Emiya would be a bit hesitant to save Shirou though he would know it isn't his world line especially since Issei would have pulled a blade but not used ofuda to avoid wasting them or provoking Cu. Cu has enough of an edge on Emiya despite the command seals holding him back he'd still be able to disengage and get to Shirou. He would choose to leave though to avoid facing Archer inside with the 2 mages backing him up, his mood being ruined and because it'd remove the he must not go all out on his first fight vs them seal for Archer.

Reversed Curse Technique is a bit too advanced to give Issei at this point but he may have the healing 10 shadows from the boost due to proper education all along and while the fights must be 1 on 1 the cursed tools and items would be a large boost especially post Caster appearing especially if he trusted her enough to explain the 10 shadows and got her to use reinforcement on him and it didn't count as her taking part. That said since Cu goes for the heart, it's a np curse and Shirou would be dead Rin making the replacement heart would still be needed.

Due to knowing about Shirou being a magus and Issei's showing she'd stick want answers from both of them but would agree to move to Shirou's house for it in case Cu came back. Shirou would wake up on the way back but agree to put off the talk until they were at his house but want to walk himself. Said talk would cover all their general circumstances where Issei would learn Rin doesn't know things she should like about the temple and a very brief summary of the war by Rin that is edited to keep Shirou out of it by leaving out things like the wish, killing and the end of the 4th war. Cu would interrupt this discussion and they would struggle to face him with him not being limited but would manage to hold on albeit with Issei showing more of his abilities.

Between Protection from Arrows and Magic Resistance Cu would still be able to handle them and Shirou would get knocked into the shed when he tried to but in melee where Saber would still get desperation summoned. Cu here would flee rather than try while being outnumbered and restricted from going all out on Rin, Issei and Saber.

Issei would then give a more detailed explanation of the war because no one in zero declared participation to the church. Knowing Shirou's nature and that he would get involved anyway along with seeing Rin's softer (tsundere) side he would also explain about the recent mana harvesting and the blood fort he would propose a ceasefire between them until it's dealt with along with mentioning he has met caster and so could appeal to them if needed. His reasoning for doing so is to feel Rin out more for if she knows about the grail and to deal with the users of the blood fort while giving Caster time to study and work on the grail.

Illya would butt in due to having arrived but being bored of waiting by then (she shows up too soon after them leaving the church to have been monitoring it for their arrival and then made her way in so she likely started moving in from detecting Saber's summoning or been monitoring Shirou all along and saw the school stuff. That would provide enough motivation for Rin to agree to the ceasefire and the night would end when Illya leaves albeit with probably some interest in Issei since he'd handle her familiars better than Rin. Issei however, would be on guard against her from her going right to killing and also being one of the 3 families.

From them on Rider would be pretty easily handled and taken out due to the blood fort being weakened from Issei's own efforts earlier and Simple Domain countering it while up with the rest decided if it was actually written from feeling it out.
 
worm oc capes
People who have dug through canon worm have said that the bay is meant to have up to 20 more capes than was shown. One canon quote even implies the Empire may have had an extra 5 capes. Other than Stain who is mentioned in Interlude 2 and then never again these are left as unknowns so it is fair to have oc capes. That said it must be kept reasonable as a reason they didn't appear or weren't named needs to be included and no-one likes it when some oc cape shows up who has the perfect power to support a protag or is their ideal waifu shows up.

Fortunately canon does supply plenty of options here due to events like the ABB bombings and levi being able to be said to have killed them or made them flee the city and that there are the heroes Sere and Dovetail who are only mentioned post levi when the prt is desperate to fill out their roster because they were active in the suburbs.

Cape Name: Stain
Gender: Male
Trigger: In area of cape fight between Purity and New Wave fliers one of Purity's beams hit a building he was nearby and broke bits off that nearly crushed him.
Power: Shaker similar to skidmark creates areas within his range marked by a non organic only manton limited stain generated by gestures to aim. Stained areas have reduced durability, slowly spread from point of origin for a fixed area each stain, are discoloured and becomes soft and somewhat spongy.
Alignment: Leader of own Gang
necessary secondary powers: his power doesn't effect his own clothes and shape the spread of the stains
General activities: Leads own very minor gang and causes minor issues is generally left alone because he can effect costumes especially of capes like tinkers who wear armour and gear that protrudes past their body's manton field which makes fighting him more hassle than it's worth.
Reason didn't get mentioned in canon: Did in Interlude 2 but following it as stated there he tried to expand into ABB territory only to face Oni Lee and die.
Reason for creation: exists in canon but never used anywhere

Cape Name: Yuki Onna
Gender: Female
Trigger: Aryan girl who grew up in the outskirts of the bay with a Japanese neighbour because they were both single mothers their mothers became close working together to raise both kids. Despite this as a young teenager when out Empire members came when they were together to 'protect' her from the friend. She backed off afraid off the thugs who were enjoying tormenting her friend including saying all the things they could do especially since Victor was wanting people to drain for skills. Said friend ended up roughed up and drained seriously enough to be able to recover but seriously impaired.
Power: Mover/Changer with Shaker, Blaster, Stranger and Brute subratings on Changer. Regardless of whether she is in the changer form she can fly but the form causes her skin, lips and hair to whiten and become cold, her eyes also become purely white so it is difficult to tell where she is looking if you can see them. The further she pushes the transformation the stronger she becomes and while in it she is able to shoot cold windy streams that contain snow which can be ice if fully transformed. She also emits a cold aura which lowers the temperature around her and can be pushed when fully transformed to generate a blizzard within a block's radius of her.
necessary secondary powers: Her skin being cold also serves as great protection against fire and heat due to being a fixed temperature with any heat being shunted into another dimension which allows her internals to be unaffected by the cold. She can also see through snow and ice fine along with not needing to blink while in the form.
Alignment: Vigilante
General activities: Donning an Asian cape identity as a form of penance she works mainly against the empire in the outskirts and suburbs around her home.
Reason didn't get mentioned in canon: Due to staying on the outskirts and suburbs combined with only facing normals her full power is unknown. She is also a fairly bad option for teams due to her power not discriminating and so being unpleasant to fight or to fight alongside. The ABB would also step up recruitment attempts since her flight makes her hard for any group to actually manage to talk to.
Reason for creation: The Nazi's are a fairly minor element of canon so this is showing a non minority working against them. Considering Changers come from body image issues and those of self image vs society's expectations you'd also really expect more in the bay.

Cape Name: Shadow
Gender: Female
Trigger: Her father was an Asian hero who Lung killed in costume during his initial appearance and taking over of the Asian community. She didn't know it at the time but later discovered the hidden underground area where he had his cape stuff. While nothing actually came of it due to his body being completely burned to the point of being unidentifiable which was fairly common along with people running she had been afraid in general due to the ABB's rep and that pushed her over to triggering with his shard that had moved to her after her dad's death.
Power: Breaker with subratings in Mover, Stranger from her own power and the shard cheated to count as a 2nd gen to pass a variant on her dad's power of Striker. Her power is basically being able to dive into shadows including her own. She can move around as a fairly dark shadow within shadows. While in the shadow she can move at the top speed she could run at with all the weight that she has taken with her which includes the ability to move up walls and onto roofs. Her dad's power was the ability to control the friction of shaded areas he could touch or that his shadow was touching along with a scaling brute rating for how large an area this was. He mainly used this subtly and only on himself by wearing a full covering of armour and katana in a samurai outfit and going out at night since the shard counts darkness from lack of light as shadows with the most overt use being to allow him to slide his feet along the ground without lifting them such as if he were wearing socks on wood. Against Lung though the light from the fire was a hard counter. Her variant lacks the brute component but has a wider range of counting any connected shadows for the friction adjustment.
necessary secondary powers: sense of the areas that she can effect the friction of including their current friction, how fast she can move while submerged and what shadows are large enough for her to submerge into. While submerged she can also see out of the submerged surface.
Alignment: Independent
General activities: She keeps her cape activities concealed and as such is unknown. Her costume is also fully concealing but carefully avoids any Asian theme including ninjas to avoid attention if she does get seen. Her focus is on sabotage, building intel and a shadow destabilisation while also pocketing a few dollars every week to subtly ease their financial situation and build an emergency stash. Her power does slightly boost her movement speed due to advantages of moving through shadows and moving at a sprint without expending stamina but is still fairly limited so for the most part does stake outs of a few bases she knows off while taking opportunities to skim funds or product from them while occasionally using or leaking info she gets but is careful to leave signs that it's their own members skimming which the merchants in particular are weak to.
Reason didn't get mentioned in canon: is unknown
Reason for creation: Considering the general circumstances of the Asian population it's a bit unbelievable how few capes they have in the bay also to give a shadow power to someone that isn't black because it seems racist.

Cape Name: Contender/Pinnacle
Gender: Females
Trigger: the pair of twins have divorced parents and each live with one of them. Contender stays with their dad and as such is more intellectual while Pinnacle learned more fashion and appearance tips along with being more sporty. Basically the two are a classic introvert intellectual / exceptional extrovert pair with Contender always being deemed inferior due to the difference in looks and fitness since Pinnacle is very talented physically. This general sense of inferiority and pressure led to Contender triggering with Pinnacle getting it for free due to the rules of twins.
Power: Changer/Thinker The shard doesn't really get the issue since twins both get powers if one triggers because they are considered the same so the power is about being the inferior model. They have a changer form that ages them up from when they triggered at 14 to appear as a prettier version of how Pinnacle could be projected to look at 18-20 that is also generous in it's fitness but being within human limits if still someone that would be able to get onto an Olympic team. The other power they have is that their physical skills never degrade. Physical skills being something like running form and not being anything knowledge based something like computer programming could only be assisted through things like typing accuracy or speed and not from any programming boost. Each transformation into or out of the form also converts them to a stored template which is fixed for the form and updates for out of it which means it heals injuries.
necessary secondary powers: the healing from the form shifting along with updating senses to account for new body.
Alignment: non determined/ex independant
General activities: The show of contrasts continued Contender since the trigger has been working on their fitness and learning skills like fighting and parkour without being obvious she is prepping for being a cape which has lead to some bad habits from doing things like copying from movies or bad online videos. Pinnacle though initially thrilled about having powers was pretty disappointed because of how little they did for her especially when they barred her from professional sports. Pinnacle however took the chance for what it's worth and used it as a chance to bypass age restrictions on things along with making a cape id for the attention. Both of these did not go well for her hurting her cash reserves while damaging her relations with her friends and getting some nasty attention. Following some bad incidents at a party and actually getting attention from other capes which included her initial cape identity taking heat for inaction during crimes she retired both identities to revaluate the situation and lay low while repairing things with her civ life.

Reason for creation: very closely related people like twins can both get powers when one triggers which little is done with.

Cape Name: Cypher
Gender: Male/Female
Trigger: A teacher who had an issue as part of the power watch program where a kid with powers was reported by another teacher but due to being black didn't trust the authorities so when the prt showed up to speak to the kid they freaked out at how heavy handed and unsubtle they were being and chose to fly away through said teacher's classroom while using their blaster power outing himself / A woman from a rich family with enough money she only had to get a token part time job as a music teacher for the same Primary school for appearances sake but didn't like all the politicking and liked having college and then job as an excuse to stay away and move out. Unfortunately being a teacher wasn't as simple as she'd liked because she found out the teachers are meant to report any suspicions of students having powers and received some hazing over her family.
Power: Power Copier by touching a cape he can use their power for a few minutes baseline which increases in proportion to the touch/ A communications tinker owing to the definitions of communications used by her and shards this features a lot of hacking and activities that support gunboat diplomacy with information.

General activities: They are teamed up to the point of sharing a cape identity. To prevent this being realised they don't appear in public and usually stick to online text communication but each have a covering identical costume and voice filter along with avoiding anything like pronouns that would convey gender. Being a power copier he can support the tinkering while also providing a second view and inspiration source. Due to seeing the prt screw up and having the means to go searching for info they are determined to avoid the prt while working to support young capes and keep them safe. To this end they focus on data gathering and serve as informers and info brokers who would hold the pho guy in the know tag if they were willing to be that concentrated instead of using various sockpuppet accounts and obscure means along with putting info beyond villain capabilities into the public domain.
Reason didn't get mentioned in canon: Not a field cape while avoiding contact with other tinkers and thinkers especially those in groups.
Reason for creation: The canon prt power watching is pretty outrageous given that it includes things like someone telling a nurse while feverous and delirious on top of being high on meds and having a head injury that they are a cape and the prt investigating it. Through Browbeat we also know they are pretty unsubtle about poking around with their investigations into his trigger event to try and get confirmation before speaking to him leaving his identity rather flimsy so this is a case where it puts people off joining them.

Cape Name: Neigh Mare
Gender: Female/Male
Trigger: Cluster trigger as part of Circus's (both set to kiss on each other, neutral to Circus and kill on the last who is dead) caught up in protests surrounding Fleur's death which attracted Empire goons response. Circus was an organiser and pusher for due to budding gender fluidity and was dealing with that and the general strain which topped over when violence started due to 4th member being leader and being interested as anti Empire action due to being some element(s) that nazis don't like which they worked out and was killed shortly after triggering. Neigh and Mare were younger and general members in the crowd with Mare being a general sign holder and Neigh just being someone there as someone paid to bring food to the protesters.
Power: Due to being Cluster capes with Circus they have variants on Circus's powers which are fireballs, hammerspace, enhanced agility/reflexes/balance/spatial sense/aim and male/female body language understanding. Due to trigger mechanics each has a major power which is from their shard and is stronger to avoid making the cluster huge I am bundling Circus's 5 enhancements together as one power even if agility isn't a thinker power like the rest and saying that is their main one since it's either that or the hammerspace but since we don't know the limits either is fair to say. Each variation doesn't have to be the same category unless it's something like a tinker power for example Love Lost has an emotional focused shard which for her is a blaster/master power but for Rain is a shaker power and for Snag is a Striker power done through his tech.

Mare is actually the guy and his main power is the main form of the fireball power which I am saying is an elemental effects one in his case it turns him into a shadowy equine breaker form with shadowy wisps constantly drifting upwards off his body that diminish as he charges the forms other power to shoot condensed shadow blasts from the mouth or waves from the hooves. From the space power he can treat any surface as the ground allowing him to run up walls or stand on mid-air including effecting gravity for him and anyone on him. From the enhancement suite he gets enhancement to the forms parameters and boosted coordination of it's limbs and from the body language one he gets understanding of equine body language, riding and behaviour enough to act as an actual horse if visuals didn't give it away.

On the other hand Neigh from the elemental power got the ability to form a material that looks like obsidian on herself which actually weakens the further from her skin it gets but can be actively reinforced and repaired from any point of contact allowing anything actually touching her to be decently strong and sharp but not strong enough to stand up to big hits. The weakness of the material also means that aside from material generated from her power she only wears shorts and a thin exercise crop top to allow the extra skin contact. Anything generated that she isn't in contact with though is fragile and quickly disintegrates. Neigh uses this to form a costume and saddle for their cape id with a full body cover layer as the base but with thicker growths to have it serve as armour. From her own shard Neigh gains a space manipulation power that let's her alter the space around her causing objects moving around to her to selectively be treated as though they are crossing more distance than they are. This effectively is an anti ranged power causing projectiles to fall short or miss due to losing power due to facing greater air resistance and effects from gravity. While it can also allow her to be treated as out of range or further away for range based powers for close combat the main advantage is in defence by increasing the energy they spend for the blows which doesn't usually matter too much due to only fliers really being able to who move with their flight power's support and expanding the time any impacts are treated to happen over which lowers their impulses while also providing more effective time for the repair aspect to take effect in. This power also works as protection against the material shattering as any shards moving towards her get slowed and decay more. From the enhancement suite she gets a boost to timing, multitasking and general self coordination to help with managing the main power and reinforcements. From the body language source she gets a more general understanding of a focuses body language which in exchange for being broader doesn't allow her to alter her own body language aside from working out what about their body language is prompting it's results.

necessary secondary powers: the dark wisps and 'obsidian' are chilly due to not being shadow or earth powers and being that the shard is one of the dimensional ones that do fire/ice but heat shunting tricks which it is using to fake shadows and obsidian as a result both are resistant to temperatures though more so on the cold side. Mare also has a sense of which direction is actually down. Neigh has a general boosted awareness of movement around her due to her main power.
cluster bleed and power sway: the 4th member died pretty much right after triggering so their effect ended and derailed the overall plan but it was going to be them and Circus against those two due to them being the body language main and so being able to be able to read and push Circus into anti Empire action in addition to general thievery. The bleed was effectively passing the feelings they have for each other along after they meet each other which was supposed to reinforce the pairs dynamic due to reinforcing the positive feelings of each pair as teammates while reinforcing the negative feelings towards unknown cape(s) that they don't get on with and the power sway would alter slightly as they wrack up wins against each other.
Alignment: Independents
General activities: Cape name is somewhat of a joke for combining their two separate cape names into one while also being a play on nay more and nightmare. They don't see themselves as being that strong capes and effectively teamed up to act as 2 capes in a trenchcoat to pretend to be a decent one. Both of them required a fair bit of practice and adapting to their powers to be anywhere near decent but quickly realised their initial big dreams were a bust. Mare on his own is alright but required a while to get used to being on all 4s, the general size difference, the field of vision difference and all the 3D movement. He needs Neigh mainly to cover his back, keep track of things and provide ranged defence. While she needs him for mobility, offence and to actually allow keeping of distance. Since he has taught her how to ride properly and she can read his horse body language plus general coordination boosts they can work decently together but suffer from her having to use touch or speech to speak to him which isn't great for not tipping their hand. Due to this they quickly gave up thoughts of cape fights and stick to just having fun with their powers on joyrides while spooking the odd gang members but have had to dial that back due to now being in a higher year.
Reason didn't get mentioned in canon: Only show up at night due to boosted stealth aspects of being a black horse and black armoured rider and have dialled appearances back in general to avoid giving away they are students.
Reason for creation: Clusters allow a bit more flexibility in giving multiple powers and Circus is part of one that nothing has ever been done with.

Cape Name: Seahorse
Gender: Female
Backstory: Originally a young girl cape who triggered over a decade precanon meant to be a big name for the UK team but then I remembered they are supposed to be having financial difficulties which such a cape would disallow. A later thought was to consider actually using the 3 blasphemies and say they are a group from a past cycle that managed to hijack a few tinker shards and incorporate the 3 blasphemies as a cycle element while they subtly work on countering the entities long term by developing themselves and hindering data collection. Backstory note is there were more than 3 but the others got stopped some may also have been lose over time such as in the transfer to Abaddon but Eden's death would have pushed them into trying harder this cycle. Seahorse would be one id in this case to work publicly while the blasphemy bodies would be for black ops since Europe is better off than anywhere other than places like New Zealand that wildbow forgot about or didn't place something big like the cui next to that would cause problems.
Power: water speciality tinker in Eden's simulation would have been water power and one of the quick prop up loose restriction tinkers in her case designed to have great synergy with other tinkers by supplying power sources but be a prime target and have low combat power. Deviations from scenario add great combat capability through water cutters and hoses through less specific speciality or through it being a blasphemy.

General activities: In both versions Seahorse would be a fairly prominent tinker and much desired due to her easy to use clean energy sources. She would be somewhat like the guild though in that she wouldn't do normal patrolling and be focused on big threats. In the first version she would also have pr stuff like public appearances but it would be with stand ins.

Reason for creation: they have a huge base with no explanation for how they got it built and it annoys me they never thought to make supply caches or bases for the end beyond having some supplies in their own base.

Trigger: vial cape
Power: master cape who can project a metallic looking creature that resembles Mantine. It is large enough to ride and can fly the Remoraids can also be generated and fired but for serious fights lies in it's mouth.

Reason for creation: In canon Skidmark gets his hands on a set of 5 vials in an abandoned house in the rich section of the bay. While possibly a Contessa plot due to the info it revealed to Taylor, Lisa and Faultline's crew I am saying he is a rich man who bought the vials for security and to become their own team due to wanting to pass as legit capes he bought vials that consistently give flight and projection powers.
Other members: His wife Phoenix would have been able to project phoenix wings from her back allowing her to fly and their feathers can be shot as projectiles. Their eldest son would have been able to fly and fire scale projections. Their younger son would have had a short range projection of a hawk while their daughter would have been able to project chains from her limbs.

Cape Name: batwoman
Gender: female
Trigger: long con Russian sleeper agent from a honeypot mother who was secretly training and teaching her following the appearance of Behemoth Russia went full isolationist in canon so while they didn't get burned they got cut off which her mother didn't take well and got herself killed trying to prove her worth by faking being a cape.
Power: Fabric tinker

General activities: Designed costume (batwoman from mystery of the batwoman) to play into their codename and general American culture costume isn't tinker tech but is a product of it so is far tougher than it looks, the cape can also become rigid to serve as a glider or shield and the costume subtly alters her body shape uses mundane training to keep up. Due to the cut off and upbringing is distrustful of governments but did take the cut off message about the threats like the cui and endbringers seriously moved to the bay to work against the gangs to build up a rep to join the guild.

Reason for creation: Masumune is stated to be one of the key pillars of the sentai due to being able to mass produce tinker tech but he would have needed other tinkers to work with since even if he could make some of it he probably wouldn't be able to do all of the guns, weapons and costumes to say nothing of if they covered stuff like bikes.
other sentai pillar cape ideas: another tinker or two for the gun/weapon/bikes, capes that offer great incentives to join such as a power booster, healer, thinkers or one with a power that can strengthen the capes or costumes which do exist Chevalier in canon got such a boost to withstand Behemoth's kill aura. Since we know they had Kirin White another option is to say they had a sub team based on the 4 good omens (Kirin, ho-oh, turtle and dragon).
