In another world, where men do battle with sword and magic, and terrible beasts roam the lands, an ancient prophecy foretold the coming of a calamity that would befall the world, sending out waves of disaster to bring ruin to the world. Many took it for granted for the world was in peace thanks to the past efforts of the Legendary Weapons Heroes. However, when the prophesied year of the calamity came, a dimensional fissure opened up in the sky, releasing hundreds of monsters across the world to ravage the land, just as the prophecy had foretold.

Through the efforts of the adventurers and the armies of various kingdoms, the realm survived the coming of the calamity at a great cost. Realising that the waves after the first would be much stronger, the kingdoms called for the Legendary weapon heroes to came to their aid. However, a good number of these heroes had long since passed away, leaving only their inexperienced successors or those who had too many responsibilities to join the fields of battle. And even then, the world was missing four heroes.

The Hero of the sword.
The Hero of the spear.
The Hero of the bow.
And finally, the Hero of the shield.

The king of Melromarc, also known as the "Wise King", ordered the royal mages to cast an ancient ritual that would summon the four remaining heroes from another world to help save their own. Against all expectation, the ritual worked save for one detail. Indeed, four youths who held in their arms the sword, spear, bow and shield of legend appeared upon the alter upon which the ritual had been cast upon. However, what wasn't expected was the appearance of a fifth youth, wielding his own weapon which the legends had never spoke of.

In effect, the ritual had summoned an extra Hero - You.

Will you become this world's saviour, or will you bring it closer to ruination, or perhaps you will take it for yourself. But for now, before we witness your tale unfold, let us take a glimpse at the circumstances you were in prior to your appearance on the ritual altar. After all, all stories must have a beginning before they have an ending.

[ ] You were a homeless vagrant, wandering from place to place, doing your best to survive in a world that didn't care for those abandoned by the system, especially for one who had committed a terrible crime. But that was a long time ago, and your current lifestyle is your way of repentance. One day you found what looked like a nice sturdy staff to use as a walking stick but the moment you touched it, you were suddenly in an unfamiliar place. (Staff Hero)

Your view of the world were so very different from those of others that people grew both afraid for you and themselves, especially when they once found you with a knife, covered in blood. Bound in chains of clothes and locked away "for your own good", you merely existed with only your imagination for company. Even when your journey began, you weren't quite sure you were simply just imagining everything that was happening to you and that sooner or later you would wake up back in a padded cell. OOC: hello SV and welcome to my quest which has taken a large chunk of my attention span, attention span which could be used to update other quests. This is a quest based of the light novel/Web novel/manga known as Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari or in English, the Rising of the Shield Hero. The premise of this quest is that the ritual that summoned the four original heroes glitches and summoned a fifth Hero that was never mentioned in the prophecy. How will this fifth Hero change things is up to you, SV. There may be crossover cameos and the like but I'll try and keep the focus on TnYnN. You might have also noticed that I started this quest up at SB well but not to worry, consider both quests to be separate worlds. Anyway, let's get started.

Question about the shield hero. Just to make sure because I only read some synopsis. I heard that he had no offensive capabilities, is shield bash just knockback/stun without damage?
 
He can only punch to do damage on his own. Everything else, he needs stuff like counter hits, poison, traps, personal monsters and other stuff.

but shovel? We be consider to be as useless as shield hero so we can bro it up with him.

It the perfect combo.
 
Okay, on SB, the shovel Hero is Amamiya Yuuhi because I liked the idea and one of the voters asked if it was a crossover. If shovel wins it here though, Shovel Hero will not be one of the main protagonists of Hoshi no samidere. Probably go though a character gen update before getting into the plot.
