Hi there, I am writer and worldbuilder and I need help with one of my worlds. I need to refresh my view and structure information, so, test this world by asking whatever you came up with. I don't give permission to anyone to use my work as their own magic systems(I understand that mana-based magic system is banality and many things I wrote is obvious, but inner terminology and details are original)
By the way, English is my second language, so I can make mistakes. I would sometimes make inserts in my first language for different terms that sound different from English variations due to translation problems.
I'll start with basic introduction.
This world has many names, for metaview-it's Arspell(Art of Spell\Magic), for those who created it-Arter, but people call it simply Terra. In this world is three special types of energy, that give people the ability to use three magic systems: it's Mana for Magic, Chi for different martial and spiritual Arts and Psi, for Psychic abilities. Each of them let do basic and incredible things, from levitation of small object to alteration of space-time.
Let's talk about Magic. To understand how it works let's keep in mind that Mana has three main traits:
1. It can transfer into any type of mass-energy, matter-field, wawe or any other object(First Tier Transfer), including Psi and Chi(Second Tier Transfer) and objects that don't exists in our reality, such as exotic matter(Third Tier Transfer).
2. Mana cannot be affected by other types of energy/interactions, except Chi, Psi, Ether and Mana itself.
3. But with exception-by some reason(mages and scientists still argue) mana is affected by processes in nervous system and attracted by it, then start to form that known as Mana Structure, second body of creature, made from Mana, that affect and affected by nervous system. So, unconscious or conscious, with enough training, people can manipulate their magic structure and by that affect surrounding(it's VERY hard) or their own mana.
This is how magic works. No, this is it's core.
But how it works? Well, there is two "types" of magic.
1. Unstructured-you just "push" mana to the target and "order" it to do something. You can create surge of force, line of fire or blast of electricity, but not the spell of Alteration, Telekinesis, or even the simplest Fierfly.
2. Structured-you create a magic structure, mechanism, if you like, that do thing that you made it do.
