It is the 42 Millennium and the Imperium of Man stands at the brink of total annihilation, the golden throne the technological marvel that keeps not only the Emperor alive but as well as the astronomicon burning like a beacon to help in the navigation of the daemon infested miasma of the warp, is starting to fail and the Emperor is dying and there is nothing the Tech-Priests can do to stop it.
The orks, brutal and cunning, gather under the banner of the beast of armageddon, their numbers being nearly incalculable. Ghazhghkull has titled himself as the prophet of the twin ork gods, Mork and Gork. His rival Commissar Yarrick along with numerous members of the Black Templars Space marine chapter battle against the green menace across numerous star systems.
The Necrons, ancient lords who once stood and battled beings that could have been considered gods, have finally started their mass awakening. Imperial sectors being overrun in a tide of living metal in a matter of days. The new Necron dynasties have begun building their empires or becoming vassals to other dynasties, as an ancient king ponders his return.
Abbadon the Despoiler, Warmaster of chaos has broken through the cadian gate and finally taken the bastion that kept him out of the Imperium 12th times, Cadia is his. Instead of doing what many feared, Abbadon did not destroy Cadia instead he kept it for it is the most stable route out of the Eye of Terror. Cadia is now the capital of Abbadon's expanding Dark Imperium.
The Tau proceed with their technological advancements and have managed to achieve a magnificent advancement, making so that their leaders can become entirely mechanical thanks to a transfer of consciousness to a robotic body. The ethereals are the first to receive this treatment, unaware that they have fallen right into the trap set by the deceiver.
The Eldar arrogant beings who doomed the galaxy with the birth of the fourth god of chaos, plan their gambit by creating the god known as Ynnead by sacrificing every single Aeldari soul in the infinity circuit, along with every living Eldar as well in a chance to kill She Who Thirsts. But one seeks to avert this by using another method to wake the god of the dead without the complete extinction of his race. Time will tell if he will succeed.
Worst of all may be the Tyranids, Xeno creatures with seemingly endless hunger, they devour whole planets and make so that they are left completely barren with no life or even atmosphere left in them. The largest of all Hive Fleets have reached the galaxy, named Leviathan it has already devastated the Blood Angel homeworld of Baal, though its tendril was defeated the angel host will never truly recover from the losses.
But Baal was only the beginning, many more tendrils are moving towards the homeworlds of the other first founding space marine chapters: Macragge, Nocturne, Chogoris, Fenris, Medusa, Inwit, and the Dark Angel space fortress known as the Rock made from the largest fragment from the destroyed world of Caliban, are all under threat.
The largest of the tendrils moves towards Holy Terra, devouring entire sectors in its path towards the throneworld. The tendrils of the other hive fleets which have been destroyed by the Imperium or other forces, begin to stir as well initiating an expanding course from their hunting territories, leaving trillions devoured in their wake.
These are the times of ending, the weak shall die while the strong will live, for none can say who will survive in end.
