They are hunger itself, they will not stop until they have devoured everything there is. A ocean of near infinite blades and maws ready to ravage and devour everthing until there is only them in the universe.
Intro Post
Location
Castlevania
It is the 42 Millennium and the Imperium of Man stands at the brink of total annihilation, the golden throne the technological marvel that keeps not only the Emperor alive but as well as the astronomicon burning like a beacon to help in the navigation of the daemon infested miasma of the warp, is starting to fail and the Emperor is dying and there is nothing the Tech-Priests can do to stop it.

The orks, brutal and cunning, gather under the banner of the beast of armageddon, their numbers being nearly incalculable. Ghazhghkull has titled himself as the prophet of the twin ork gods, Mork and Gork. His rival Commissar Yarrick along with numerous members of the Black Templars Space marine chapter battle against the green menace across numerous star systems.

The Necrons, ancient lords who once stood and battled beings that could have been considered gods, have finally started their mass awakening. Imperial sectors being overrun in a tide of living metal in a matter of days. The new Necron dynasties have begun building their empires or becoming vassals to other dynasties, as an ancient king ponders his return.

Abbadon the Despoiler, Warmaster of chaos has broken through the cadian gate and finally taken the bastion that kept him out of the Imperium 12th times, Cadia is his. Instead of doing what many feared, Abbadon did not destroy Cadia instead he kept it for it is the most stable route out of the Eye of Terror. Cadia is now the capital of Abbadon's expanding Dark Imperium.

The Tau proceed with their technological advancements and have managed to achieve a magnificent advancement, making so that their leaders can become entirely mechanical thanks to a transfer of consciousness to a robotic body. The ethereals are the first to receive this treatment, unaware that they have fallen right into the trap set by the deceiver.

The Eldar arrogant beings who doomed the galaxy with the birth of the fourth god of chaos, plan their gambit by creating the god known as Ynnead by sacrificing every single Aeldari soul in the infinity circuit, along with every living Eldar as well in a chance to kill She Who Thirsts. But one seeks to avert this by using another method to wake the god of the dead without the complete extinction of his race. Time will tell if he will succeed.

Worst of all may be the Tyranids, Xeno creatures with seemingly endless hunger, they devour whole planets and make so that they are left completely barren with no life or even atmosphere left in them. The largest of all Hive Fleets have reached the galaxy, named Leviathan it has already devastated the Blood Angel homeworld of Baal, though its tendril was defeated the angel host will never truly recover from the losses.

But Baal was only the beginning, many more tendrils are moving towards the homeworlds of the other first founding space marine chapters: Macragge, Nocturne, Chogoris, Fenris, Medusa, Inwit, and the Dark Angel space fortress known as the Rock made from the largest fragment from the destroyed world of Caliban, are all under threat.

The largest of the tendrils moves towards Holy Terra, devouring entire sectors in its path towards the throneworld. The tendrils of the other hive fleets which have been destroyed by the Imperium or other forces, begin to stir as well initiating an expanding course from their hunting territories, leaving trillions devoured in their wake.

These are the times of ending, the weak shall die while the strong will live, for none can say who will survive in end.

[] Behemoth: Behemoth was the first hive fleet to have entered the galaxy, leaving a trail of destruction before being finally defeated by the forces of the Imperium. Thanks to being the first of the hive fleets to have entered the galaxy, many tendrils belong to it, with many still in a dormant state ready to awake at the command of the hive mind.
- Starts with fewer bio ships and broods, but with more easy initial targets.

[] Kraken: Kraken was the second major hive fleet to have entered the galaxy, 250 years after the devastation left by Behemoth, their arrival was paved by the first appearance of the Genestealers, beings who disguise themselves as humans or other beings and infiltrate a society.
- Starts with a medium amount of bio ships and broods, but with medium difficulty targets.
- Starts with the genestealer technology.

[] Leviathan: The third major hive fleet to have entered the galaxy, as well the most recent one, it has left a trail of destruction and its heading straight towards the homeworlds of the first founding space marine chapters as well as the throneworld itself -- Holy Terra.
- Starts with a high amount of bio ships and broods, but with high difficulty targets.
- Starts with Bio Titans.

OOC: Welcome To Eternal Hunger a reboot of my previous Tyranid quest And Our Hunger Shall Consume The Stars one of my old quests, that I have decided to do a reboot becasue I have a lot of free time currently. Do not post or vote yet.

Mechanics
Turns - Turns will be divided into three phases: Attack, Research, and Build Phases. In the attack phase you attack worlds to get biomass, in the Research phase you select various new biotechnologies such as new weapons, bio-ships, or new units that will have rolls. Finally, in the build phase, you use the biomass you accumulated to build new broods or bio-ships.

Military - Ground troops are broken down in broods who are then broken down in several different 'squads', a single gaunt brood for example has in total five hundred thousand gaunts in it, broods can also have specialized units in it to garner advantages against types of enemies, such as armored or fast targets.

Research - The Splinter fleet may attempt to research new things, such as bio ships or broods or other things that can be gained after observing and gaining the biology of other races. The result is roll specific if you do not reach the necessary DC check then you have failed to Research the selected technology.

Biomass - Biomass is the life of your splinter fleet, with it you can birth new broods of units and bio ships, biomass can be gained by devouring biological targets, be warned if you do not have biomass your fleet will either start devouring itself or enter hibernation until they stumble at the nearest planet with biomass to consume.

Adaptation - A unique mechanic to the Tyranids, after five rounds of combat all of your units will gain the 'adaptation' bonus to their rolls, in-universe this is the Tyranids adapting themselves to better fight their enemies.

Combat - Combat is divided into two phases, first is planning in this phase you plan your attack and are given information about the planet such as its geology, the next is the actual invasion in this there will be rolls both for you and the defenders.

Characters Duels - When you get special characters (basically hero units) enemy heroes or your heroes have a chance to initate a duel, the duel will be the rolls plus the bonuses that both have.

OOC: The mechanics may have changes on them as time moves on

Old hive fleet? time to get some decent evolutions up! sure we wont have the same power as the newer hive fleets...but damn well were going to carve a hole through the imperium by going after their food supplies!

I'll go with this one, since the lictors and genestealers were the mvp of the original quest.

I remember making so many plans for the gene stealers

@Alucard Vampiry a reccomendation regarding research dices

the concept of ''falling forward'',AKA even if we fail,at least we make the next try a bit easier (unless is a crit fail),maybe reduce dice difficulty by X amount then following turn depending on how close we got? (nothing crazy, just a -5 to -10,difficulty reduction)

that way it can be avoided the whole issue of ''hitting roadblocks because of sheer bad luck failing the same roll over and over''

Hmmmm good idea, will implement it on the research phase in case you fail.

I still have ideas on how we can use the Genestealer Cults as a base of power.

The First Battle - Part 1
000.M42

A gravitic hole appears at the border of the imperial system, and from it, hundreds of bio ships exit it the system wide sensors of the imperials immediately discover the invaders. Thanks to the wave of gravity it generated, this wave caused several earthquakes upon the world disrupting the army for a time.

Immediately the shadow of the warp descends upon the system, cutting off all communications with the wider Imperium, the defenders are alone, no help will come for them.

Upon the civilized world troops are raised from the barracks, tanks, and aircrafts taken off the warehouses as the world prepares itself for conflict against the alien threat, but unknown to them several millions of the humans present in the world are already in the sway of the nefarious genestealers creatures that were planted on the world generations ago.

After years of careful manipulation and seduction of thousands of humans turning them into abominations carrying the genestealer gene. The patriarch -- the first pure strain genestealer that had descended upon the world -- had called the splinter fleet towards the world, by utilizing its psychic power to create a signal that signaled that the world was ready for the invasion and consumption. They did not take long for it to answer the call, and now the world is doomed to be devoured by the Tyranids.

May The Emperor have mercy upon their eternal souls.

[] Write-In Attack Plan

Can we do orbital bombardment? If so use it on the defensive lines where they are closely gathered. Is it possible to release our troops directly into the population centers?
