[X] The King was The King. Gilgamesh
To reduce that which could be said about the King to a single sentence was meaningless. Other, lesser hero's may be able to be described as such, but even the majority of them were more complex then a single descriptor. To think that the King, who was the greatest of heroes, would be able to be summed up in one statement is the pinnacle of foolishness.
There were many things that defined the King. His power. His charisma. His nature as the observer of humanity. His bond with Enkidu. The grief he felt when his only friend fell. His desperate pursuit of immortality, only to give it up with a laugh once he had it.
The King was Gilgamesh of Uruk, and there was no other way to describe him but that.
And though he may have lived in another time, in another world, he had come, resurrected by the power of the Holy Grail, into a world in which humanity was repressed, their numbers culled by Beastmen and the power of their Gunmen.
But, even with the disadvantages they face, the battle is not over. The power of the human spirit is too strong to be crushed by something as small as overwhelming odds. Already, humanity has struck back. One dared to take the power of Gunmen for him and his brother, and now, others are following in his footsteps.
This is the world that the King of Heroes materializes into.
~~~~~
Before Gilgamesh even opens his eyes, he can hear the sound of conflict. Of the movements of large beasts, and shouts that can only just be heard over the sound of gunfire.
Opening his eyes, the King of Heroes watched the battle from upon the mountain he stood upon.
The first thing he noticed were the 'Large beasts,' which were not, in fact, beasts at all. They were mechanical weapons of war, resembling mecha that had existed during Gilgamesh's rule. There were two of them, each with different designs.
Both of them had slight damage from the gunfire, which was originating from a nearby village. One of them, a yellow spiked one, had taken damage to it's leg, and was unbalanced.
A man was running towards it, holding a gun, and firing at it. The weapons small size meant that it shouldn't be able to damage the mecha, but the shots still drew the attention of the pilot, who was then too distracted to miss another shot from a weapon that did damage it.
Unable to keep it's balance any longer, the mecha fell.
"Gunman down!" Called a voice, just barely audible from the distance and with the noise. "Kittan, get in it!"
Whatever Kittan's reply was, it was drowned out by the second 'Gunman' firing it's cannon toward him. The shot kicked up a cloud of dust, obscuring Kittan from view, and the Gunmen returned it's attention towards the village, approaching it slowly.
Oh, but that was a mistake. It hadn't confirmed that it had struck true. If the man had survived, he would easily be able to hide in the dust cloud until he reached the Gunmen, and if he could overpower the pilot...
Still, Gilgamesh decided that he couldn't just stand and watch. He had been summoned from the Throne of Heroes, but the Grail was oddly quiet. No-one seemed to be designated as his Master, and he couldn't determine his Class. But that did not make sense at all...
...Unless he hadn't been summoned in a class. It was possible. The Class's were meant to contain and control the Heroic Spirits by preventing them from accessing their full abilities. So it was possible that the Grail, unable to stop him from using his full abilities, had simply manifested him, and allowed the lack of magical energy weaken him naturally.
Hm. A thought for later. For now, Gilgamesh needed to investigate the circumstances in which he was summoned. And for that, he needed to talk to the participants of the battle.
And so, with a running jump, Gilgamesh leapt from the mountain, landing lower on it, and began to run down.
As he descended, the dust cloud settled, and the yellow Gunman rose.
It was still damage, and moved slowly, but it slowly moved over towards the other Gunman, a blue thing that resembled a knight's helmet, but with a cannon on top.
Firing at the village again, the pilot of the blue Gunman spoke. "Finally back up, huh? Took your time!"
In response, the yellow Gunman darts forward, and punches the blue one, knocking it away.
"Took me some time to get your friend out of the cockpit." Replied a cocky voice. "But now? I'm going to use my King Kittan to take your Gunmen from you, too!"
The blue Gunman pilot struggles to keep it's balance for a second, before rising.
"You..." Gasped the pilot. "You... You filthy human scum! Taking out Gunmen from us? Despicable. Despicable!"
The blue Gunman fired a shot from it's cannon, and charged after it.
"I'll send you back to the caves, where you belong, you ape! I'll tear your village apart, and hunt you like the animals you are!"
The blue Gunman swings it's fist at the King Kittan, and...
