The Holy Sword struck true, tearing into the corrupted Grail.

It's content, the manifestation of All The World's Evil, was burnt away, bit by bit.

Had it been human, or any other living being with a mouth, Angra Mainyu would have screamed in pain. But with no mouth, it could not do so, as the Holy Light destroyed it.

In a swift action, the God of Evil reached for the Prana of the fallen Servants, using them to fuel a spell.

If it stayed, it would die. Even if it survived the Light, the Holy burns that remained would eat away at it, destroying it over several years.

The only escape would be to cut the burnt remnants off, and flee to where the spiritual connection with the burnt remnants would be broken.

And so, with the power of only five Servants, Angra Mainyu tore a hole between this world and the next.

But it was not enough.

Two Servants yet remained. Both were strong. But it would need to try to destroy one of them, regardless.

It chose the King of Hero's, for as strong as he was, the King of Knight's contract with Alaya would prevent her from being destroyed here.

And so the Golden King found his mana stores depleted, his spirit absorbed for more Prana. Such a procedure would damage the Grail, but it was preferable to complete destruction.

But even with his Prana, it was still not enough. And though the Holy Light had begun to fade, the rate of Angra Mainyu's destruction was increasing.

The King of Knight's was already gone, whisked away by Alaya before her Prana could be taken. Unfortunate.

Hoping it would be enough, Angra Mainyu poured all of it's Prana into the spell, to send itself to another world.

And that was it's greatest mistake.

With it's Prana consumed, there was nothing to counteract the Holy Light. Angra Mainyu was destroyed in an instant, and the Holy Grail fell through the portal.

And there, it lay dormant for many years.

~~~~~
Who could say how long it had been since that day? Ten years? A hundred? A thousand? More?
It was of no matter. In this time, the Holy Grail found itself repairing the damage it had taken.
But it was slow, so slow.
After the time, it was still damaged. It would need more Prana to repair itself. Pure Prana, provided by a Servant.
But the summoning ritual hadn't had enough power. Even tainted Prana would work, but doing so would cause the Grail to fall apart again.
A Ley Line would be needed.
And so, to find one, the Grail used a miniscule amount of it's power to scan the world it had landed on.
There were no Ley Lines. In fact, there was little of everything. Less then a million humans, most of which lived underground, and the most common species on the planet did not seem to be capable of reproducing, which would surely sentence them to eventual extinction.
And yet, there was one thing of interest.
Floating by the Grail, faint indeed, was the shattered soul of Gilgamesh, King of Hero's.
How had it remained? Even with his Independent Action, the Spirit that had possessed the Grail had drained it completely. Even if it survived, it should have faded away.
Another brief scan revealed the answer.
Some sort of energy was flowing from the shattered soul. Provided by the soul's willpower, still great indeed, even when used by a mere fragment, a seemingly infinite amount of energy was being produced from nowhere.
Was this the Denial of Nothingness? The first, and greatest, of all True Magic's?
How was the King of Hero's capable of such a thing?
Well, it did not matter.
Intercepting the infinite supply, the Grail observed the energy.
It could not take much, or the soul remnant would fade, and the energy cease to flow. But not enough was being produced to repair it straight away.
...But perhaps it could be used to summon a new collection of Servants, for another War?
Yes, there was enough, barely. The Golden King would need to be summoned to make sure of it, using the existing remnants of the soul to ensure that not as much Prana was consumed, but it was possible.
Quickly selecting the Masters, the summoning was completed, and the Grail returned to it's hibernation.
There was one thing that could be said about the King. And that was...
[X] The King could not be Beaten. Saber
[X] The King could not be Denied. Archer
[X] The King could not be Stopped. Lancer
[X] The King could command Anything. Caster
[X] The King could only be matched by one Other. Rider
[X] The King could not be Controlled. Berserker
[X] The King could overcome any Disadvantage. Assassin
[X] The King could bear all of humanities Sins. Avenger
[X] The King could lead humanity to Salvation. Saver
[X] The King was the Rules. Ruler
[X] The King was The King. Gilgamesh
[X] The King was The King.
There is no other choice. Gilgamesh or bust.
FYI
[X] The King was The King.
Seriously, it seems like a class choice. I believe we will either get Enkidu with all the options (or, at least with Gilgamesh) or none of them. Matched by One Other doesn't mean they are here with us.
Read this again.
Yes, we're picking class. But frankly? I couldn't give two shits about that.
We're Gilgamesh. We're gonna be OP whichever one we pick, considering Spiral Energy is fueled by determination.
But we're also picking one sentence to describe Gilgamesh, one thing to focus on.
And Gilgamesh's relationship with Enkidu, the one bond of unchanging worth in all the world, that is what I want to focus on.
You know..since it seems the class system is limiting several aspect of the heroic spirits.Like the Arturia only uses sword,or Cu Chlain not using magic.
Therefore,
[X] The King was The King.
I want to see a whole Gilgamesh :V who knows maybe one of his NP is.
"The one and only friend" or something
