Taylor's p. O. V.
Leon, one of my best friends, was preparing to go out with me as a bodyguard. Despite my initial disbelief, he revealed the creatures at his command, insisting they were not part of a power. As we walked through the stormy streets of Brockton Bay, we encountered a group of Merchants, high on morphine, along with some ABB members. Fortunately, the ABB members were only low-level, with no Villains among them. The Merchants, however, suddenly became more aggressive, their intentions clearly malevolent.
Fear gripped me as the Merchants approached with predatory glances. But Leon, his eyes burning with a quiet, intense rage, stepped forward. He pulled out one of those devices he called a Pokéball and threw it. It opened in midair, releasing a small, gray, fairy-like creature with two gray tails each encrusted with a red gem, a partially yellow face with another red gem on its forehead. The creature, Uxie, floated before us.
Leon communicated with Uxie in a way I couldn't hear, then covered his eyes with his hands. "Don't look into Uxie's eyes," he warned me. "If you do, every single thing you know will be lost to you for all eternity."
I nodded and averted my gaze. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the Merchants collapse to the ground, confused and disoriented. The ABB members took the opportunity to execute the Merchants in brutal fashion. My stomach turned at the sight. Uxie, eyes now closed, turned its attention to the ABB, crushing them without physically touching them. Once the threat was neutralized, Uxie was recalled into its Pokéball.
Leon replaced Uxie's ball with another. From it emerged a large, bipedal creature with six arms, blue fur, and purple hair. This was Hoopa, as Leon called it. "Hoopa, transport handcuffs here and distort the perception of our opponents of the third dimension," Leon ordered. Hoopa nodded, creating a portal from which handcuffs materialized around the ankles of the remaining ABB members. They struggled in vain as Leon tightened the restraints. Hoopa was then recalled, and Leon took out another Pokéball, this one orange on top.
From the ball emerged a majestic white, bipedal Pokémon with draconic, avian, and mammalian traits. This was Reshiram. It introduced itself with a deep, resonant voice, exuding an aura of ancient power. Leon turned to me, "Reshiram will fly us to Taylor's home. We'll explain everything to your dad too, so we don't have to repeat ourselves in an emergency."
I climbed onto Reshiram's back, finding it surprisingly comfortable. We soared through the night sky, arriving at my house quickly. After we dismounted, Reshiram was returned to its Pokéball. Inside, I called for my dad, and soon we were all gathered in the living room. Leon began his tale.
"First, I'll tell the original story, then the story of the founding of my region, and various myths and legends of legendary Pokémon. In the beginning, there was only a churning turmoil of chaos. At the heart of chaos, where all things became one, appeared an Egg. Having tumbled from the vortex, the Egg gave rise to the Original One. From itself, two beings the Original One did make. Time started to spin. Space began to expand. From itself again, three living things the Original One did make. The two beings wished, and from them, matter came to be. The three living things wished, and from them, spirit came to be. The world created, the Original One took to unyielding sleep."
Leon paused, taking a deep breath before continuing. "2,500 years ago, twin heroes united the land that would become Unova with the help of a dragon. However, the twin heroes sought different things in the newly founded world. The older brother sought truth, while the younger brother sought ideals. They began to argue, causing the legendary dragon to fracture into two: Reshiram and Zekrom. What remained became Kyurem, a draconic shell of the Original Dragon. The twins' descendants continued their conflict until they saw the kingdom in ruins and decided never to fight again."
Leon continued to recount various myths and legends of legendary Pokémon, each tale more fascinating than the last. As he spoke, I felt a sense of wonder and hope begin to replace my fear and despair. With Leon and his powerful Pokémon by my side, I began to believe that we could make a difference in Brockton Bay.
