Dominic was born in Detroit Michigan, raised by his father William Stokes who was a history teacher at a local high-school. Growing up Dominic was constantly made fun of and discriminated against for his oddly coloured eyes, which are a golden amber. Through out Dominic's life, he's met his mother maybe, five times. One of those times was at his thirteenth birthday where she showed up, shape-shifting out of the form of a raven in front of him and asked him if he'd like to go away with her. Dominic refused not wanting to abandon his father for a parent that he had only met once prior. However that meeting with his mother was the first time Dominic had truly experienced the supernatural world, the first time he learnt who his mother truly was.
After his thirteenth birthday he began experiencing changes, oddities other then his golden eyes. The first time he learn't of his sixth sense was in school, where he saw black mist clinging to one of the kids when he was leaving to go home. It floated off the kid, swirling around him, evaporating the further away it drifted from the boy. The kid never came back to school after that, sometime later it was published that the kid had been murdered by his father not an hour after that black mist had appeared. After the first sighting, Dom began seeing the mist everywhere, it clung and wafted off one in every hundred people he saw. There was a time where he cared, where he tried to save those that he saw with the mist and he'd succeeded a handful of times. But more often then not he was left helpless, the person dying anyways despite his intervention. Black Mist coated the ground in places where excessive violence would take place, violence that could and probably would lead to at least a handful of people dead.
By the time Dom was twenty he was still living at home, helping his father pay the bills and was fairly comfortable with his life. But one fateful day when Dom left his house he saw nothing out of the ordinary, but when he returned home he'd found his father a healthy man in his early fifties dead on the kitchen floor. He'd apparently died of natural causes, but Dom had always been curious as to why he hadn't seen any black fog that day. A while afterwards David one of Dom's only friends moved in and they'd been living together ever since.
Close to two years ago Dom had been walking home from work, when he saw a petite blonde girl getting mugged by three large men. He'd seen similar occurrences a hundred times before and knew he couldn't really help her. But to his surprise he watched her take one down, then punch another so hard that they where lifted off the ground, thrown into a car. Dominic followed the girl pestering her, asking her what she knew of the supernatural world. Something that at this point in his life, he'd only experience through his infrequent meetings with his mother. She finally broke, telling him about herself how she wasn't sure who her father was although she knew he'd been some kind of fae. Over the course of a long night, Dom had berated her with questions about the supernatural world. She explained to him the fae courts, rumors of some big organization of wizards at war with vampires, and the grasp that the supernatural world had on Detroit. A handful of major powers who where the ones that really ran Detroit, all of which had very strenuous relations with each other. She wasn't sure who exactly the people where behind the scenes, rumors of a businessman from Chicago and some Fae lord was all she had heard, although she knew there where atleast two more.
That girls name was April, and a while after befriending her Dom had found her in bed with his roommate David. They'd been steadily dating for the past two years, neither of them ever really leaving each others side. Currently Dom is been living out of his old house, while working at a small security firm trying to scrape by.
