Elf Swap (Discworld/Lotr)

Exactly as the title implies, at the time of the Lord of The Rings for middle earth, and Lords and Ladies for the Disc, all the Discworld elves are relocated to middle earth and all the LOTR elves are relocated to the disc. Now, with that done, what changes? For further clarification, the swap happens at the instant of the first word in each book.

Well, Lord of the Rings elves are not evil sons of bitches, so unless the do something horrific and get on someone important's bad side they'll just be yet another race. They're also really obviously not the same as the elves Discworld is used to, so instant war from the trolls, dwarves or general magical community won't happen.

The Discworld elves will struggle in middle earth because practically everything is iron, but they are completely immune to magic so they have that going for them. Also, mind-buggery will get them far, especially as they have more in common with the orcs tan anyone else. I see the good guys loosing the war of the ring here.

O yes. Discworld was improved with the banishment of essentially the PG version of the Dark Eldar. Middle Earth has essentially been invaded by creatures as bloodthirsty as orcs, who can laugh off magical attacks, enthrall people to be their slaves, almost instinctively prey on your psychological weakness, have perfect knowledge of the layout of the land by virtue of existing and can only be reliably stopped by extremely well used magic (Istari and Sauron and that's it) and being impaled with iron. And while iron is in abundance, they can still shoot you, with a single scratch of elfshot turning you into a slave. Discworld elves are nasty.

When you have a powerful race of good guys and a powerful race of bad guys from different settings switch places, one setting is obviously getting it much worse than the other.
