[Hey, Space Cadet!]
It's 2031, and Minako has no idea what's going on in their life.
They charge across the ground. A quick run turns into a bound turns into a powerful leap. They need to get to Mami. They need to get to her before she hits the bridge.
There's so much they don't know about the situation. God forbid if Mami has already called backup. They realize pretty quickly that this was a fucking stupid decision.
'Mina!' They hear their mom calling in their head already.
'Minako, please! We can just-!'
Minako tunes them out. As it turns out, they can lock out signals they don't want to hear. It's something they learned from their powers, but it also works with telepathy.
And they don't need the distraction. For all they know, Mami could have witched out. She looked really bad when she left, and probably won't last long in that state.
Their parents have suffered enough. Everyone's seen enough.
If there's anything they can do, any small thing at all...at least they can do
this.

Her name is Mami Tomoe. And she's missing an arm and a leg, and her remaining hand is borderline nonfunctional. Her breastplate is dented, her hat has a piece missing and some of her face is horribly burned, and she thinks it's a miracle her soul gem isn't cracked. She swings using her teeth, using lampposts as a way to get to the bridge. If she can just get back to Lady Rin, if she can just
escape...
Except these lampposts are old. They're not meant to hold a magi in full armor, even if she's admittedly lost a lot of weight over the course of the night. And her teeth aren't adept at holding onto silken ribbons.
The lamp bends, and her teeth slide. Her eyes widen in a panic as she stretches another ribbon out but this one misses entirely. She swings way, way too low, and her foot drags across the concrete before she collapses onto her knee and tumbles. It's horrible and awkward and embarrassing and god if she cared about how she looked she'd be dead.
But instead she just rolls to a halt at the end. She stares up at the moon, her remaining eye wide open as she stares at the moon passing overhead.
It's so beautiful. It's almost as beautiful as...as...
As...
No.
No, no no no
no no.
She stares helplessly at the sky. She can hear footsteps coming, the sound of shattering concrete and wooshing air.
She's dead, she thinks. She knows she's dead. Her soul gem is blackening, she can feel it.
She deserves it. She deserves this so much. She let Kyouko die twice. Once in her time, and once
here.
No, worse, she
pulled the trigger. She killed Kyouko. She was alive but she would have killed her anyway. She was ready to. She was going to. She was able to and far, far easier than she though she could have.
If she had any food in her stomach she'd have vomited. How disgusting is she. How low, how
pathetic.
Her remaining eye was wide as the sound of booming footfalls gets closer and closer. Then it turns into a light patter. At the corner of her eye, she can see a magical girl strolling up. Over her shoulder is a baseball bat, and she's wearing a mask. A mask that seems to be bemused before she pops her teeth.
"A-a m-magical...you're h-her daughter-"
"I'm not her fucking daughter," the magi says sharply, before she...wait, no. No, wait...he(?) leans down, "I'd need to be a girl before I was a daughter.
"You're...you're not a girl?" Mami shakes her head. "O-oh...then...I-I didn't know there could be magical boys-"
The person above you pauses. Anger and frustration suddenly turn into surprise. Then annoyance. Then resignation. "I ain't a boy either, but they definitely do exist." They say. "Here. Let me help you up."
"N-no." Mami shakes her head. "I-I don't deserve it. I don't deserve help."
"Fuck that."
The language makes Mami wince. This gi...person was vulgar. They were distinctly Kyouko's child. This was absolutely Kyouko's child. And...and the ty...no. No, not a tyrant.
Sayaka's child.
Her memories of Lady Rin were starting to get fuzzy. She didn't know why she was here at 5am. Just that...oh she did something terrible. She did something so terrible. She begins to sniff.
"H-hey, hey, take it easy." The person in front of her raises their hands. "Are...no, stupid question, of course you're not fucking okay."
"I-I did something horrible." Mami mutters. "I-I did something so horrible." Her gem flickers on her hat.
"Yeah. Maybe you did." Minako presses their hand into Mami's forehead. "Mama told me something, though."
"W-what?" Mami doesn't know if that's Kyouko or Sayaka...so she takes a guess. "K...Kyou-?"
"Yeah, mama is Kyouko." Minako smiles. "Mom is Sayaka. And they missed you a lot. I could see it in their eyes. So I'm...well..."
