On another note, I really hope they at least keep the combat system and open-world from the previous game, but I doubt that they'll keep the open-world from what I've heard. All the same: I love the combat system from 9. Here's hoping that they significantly improve the series with this one.

Yes, in Japan, they call it 8 instead 9 due to some issues with how it was translated in the West.

Technically, it's the eigth Musou game in the series; the first Warriors game was a fighting game. But from the second onward they started making the Dynasty Warriors series a Musou game, the first of its kind. And on and on it went until today.
