Chapter-1 A Wonderful New World
Douluo planet, Star Dou forest

The primitive forest of Star Dou is filled with ancient trees and lush foliage. It is also home to dangerous predators called soul beasts.

In the outer skirts of the jungle, one such spirit beast is fleeing for its life. Between the thick forest bushes, an ink-green serpent is slithering in quick motion from bush to bush, trying to find cover from its assaulting predator.

Swirling in the sky is a wind falcon spirit beast looking for the right moment to swoop in and attack the ink-green serpent.

Luckily, it could escape from the wind falcon spirit beast due to its quick thinking and hid itself in a small burrow in the bushes.

The Datura snake lay there in the bushes, and after a while, it flicked its tongue in the air for any signs of a wind falcon spirit beast.

After detecting no signs of the presence of the wind falcon, it slithered out of the bush. The appearance of the snake had ink-green scales, with the snake being 4 meters in length. But distinct from other kinds of its species, this snake had anthropomorphic traits; the serpent's eyes held wisdom, which made it unique because this snake housed a soul from a faraway world.

Wang Lin woke up in this serpent body a couple of hours ago. He couldn't quite remember what he was doing before waking up in this body.

It took a while for him to get used to this new body. A reptile's movement of slithering is completely different from walking on legs. When it came to senses, he was able to see the normal spectrum of visible light along with infrared, but his main method of perceiving the world was to sense the vibrations and scents with his tongue.

Just as he was getting used to this body, a floating screen appeared before his eyes.

He looked at the floating screen in wonder; it looked similar to a videogame inventory, with one of the grids glowing and all the others grayed out.

To test the function of the floating windows, he carried out a small experiment as he rested his reptilian head on a blade of bluish grass and willed it to appear in the glowing grid of the floating screen.

In a flash, the blade of blue grass disappeared, leaving some soil. Simultaneously, the image of grass appeared on Grid 1: Blue Silver Grass [1 year old].

Before he could check whether the floating window functioned as inventory by taking the grass out, the bright sun in the sky was blocked by a huge shadow. The shadow was cast on the ground, blocking the sun from reaching the place where Wang Lin lay.

Fearing for his life, Wang Lin scuttled into the nearest bush. Just as he moved, the sharp claws of the wind spirit falcon swooped in an attempt to catch Wang Lin's body. Luckily, he escaped by an inch due to his quick reaction.

Furious from missing its prey, the wind spirit falcon flapped its majestic wing and continued its pursuit. Wang Lin hid in the thick foliage and moved away from the wind falcon spirit beast, gaining some distance.

This cat-and-mouse chase continued for a while after some repeated unsuccessful attempts. The wind, a falcon spirit beast furious at losing sight of Wang Lin, released a shriek in indignation at the failure of the hunt, took off into the sky, and disappeared.

Wang Lin hid in the burrow, motionless. After a period of silent waiting, Wang Lin slowly emerged from the burrow, peeking for any signs of a wind falcon spirit beast.

After detecting the presence of no immediate threat, Wang Lin completely emerged from the forest and slithered towards the denser parts of the forest, fearing the return of the wind falcon spirit beast at any time.

He continued for a while without taking any rest. Unknowingly, the journey continued for a while. As the sun set in the sky, the forest took on a more sinister nature, with different sounds ringing in the air.

Tired of the grueling journey, Wang Lin stopped near a half-dead tree that looked like it had been burned by a lightning strike. He noticed a small opening in the tree and promptly entered.

After entering the opening, he saw a hollow den in the tree that was a couple of cubic meters wide. He lay there, recovering his energy. A couple of hours passed as he regained some vigor.

Just as things were looking good, the whole tree quaked in a violent motion. Fearing for his dear life, he lay in the pit of the hollow den, motionless. as he heard roars from outside the tree.

After a while, the tree stopped shaking. Curious about the situation outside, Wang Lin slowly peered into the darkness with his serpentine eyes.

As he surveyed the outside world, he saw a huge, grotesque spider-like beast with a human head dangling from its torso, consuming a deer-like beast with its flaps.

It devoured the poor little deer spirit beast as its blood was spraying all over the human-shaped head. It continued the feast. But suddenly, the man-faced demon spider turned its body in the direction of Wang lin.

For a moment, Wang Lin's soul left his body. Wang Lin thought he was done for good this time. The man-faced demon spider clicked its flaps in a frenzied manner as it dashed towards Wang Lin in a swift motion.

It quickly reached the tree where he was staying. Wang Lin's snake heart was racing madly in panic. Just as it was about to reach the tree, a huge behemoth of a beast dashed towards the man-faced demon spider and tackled it as they rolled away from the tree.

The beast looked like a lion with a red mane around its neck. As its paws rested on the torso of the man-faced demon spider holding it down, the man-faced demon spider retaliated, trying to pierce the Fire Mastiff through the neck with its grotesque, hairy legs.

Anticipating the attack, Fire Mastiff backed away from the man-faced demon spider. It stood a couple of meters from the man-faced demon spider as its mane lit up in fire. The fire mastiff bombarded the man-faced demon spider with a scorching fireball.

The man faced The demon spider and leaped away from the oncoming fireball using its abnormally long legs. Due to the size of the fireball, a portion of its torso was burned.

It dashed into the tree covering as Fire Mastiff chased behind it. Wang Lin stared in a daze as the whole debacle went on in front of him.

Wang Lin flicked his serpentine tongue in relief. He shifted his attention toward the cold corpse of the light deer spirit beast.

Chapter-2 Overpowered System
Wang Lin's attention shifted toward the cold corpse of the light deer spirit beast. The fight between the man-faced demon spider and the fire mastiff kept other spirit beasts at bay.

Wang Lin had ample time to slither down from his tree to the nearby light deer corpse.

He stared at the corpse up close, quickly taking in its scent and the warmth still emitting from it. The smell of blood awakened a primal hunger in his body.

After all the chasing and hiding, he was tired. He didn't want to waste such an easy source of food, so he decided to store the light deer spirit beast's corpse in his inventory to eat at his leisure. He was aware that beasts might catch the smell of blood in the air and attack him.

The roars of beasts like the fire mastiffs would only keep them at bay for a while. Without the aura of the fire mastiff present, other creatures would soon come sniffing for easy pickings. He had to quickly store the corpse, so he opened his system.

He looked at the glowing square containing the blue silver grass he had stored a few hours ago. He noticed something different. The size of the blue silver grass now compared to when he first stored it was completely different.

The image of the blue silver grass in front of him was lusher and thicker than before. Upon closer observation, he noticed a number dangling at the edge of the glowing grid: **Age: 544**.

As he stared at it, something finally clicked. He understood why only one space was available for storage. Calling his system an "inventory" was an understatement—his storage was more than that. Anything stored in his system increased in age.

Considering when he had stored the blue silver grass, approximately five hours had passed. For every hour, the blue silver grass grew older. In one day, 1,000 years of growth would occur; in a month, 30,000 years, and in a year, 365,000 years.

Now that he understood the real function of the system, he knew he could use it to his advantage. But now wasn't the time to think about that—he needed to avoid becoming some random spirit beast's meal.

He quickly removed the blue silver grass from the system and stored the light deer spirit beast's corpse.

Wang Lin flicked his tongue into the air, picking up traces of scents and searching for a way out from where the battle had taken place. He turned toward the direction that had the fewest traces of beasts.

Just as he was about to set off, he noticed the fishy smell coming from the blue silver grass he had just discarded. The scent was similar to his own, with a grassy touch. Fearing that this would leave traces, Wang Lin quickly swallowed the blades of blue silver grass and set off in his chosen direction.

Hours passed as he continued moving without rest. Eventually, he began to feel strange. His body felt lethargic, and a swelling sensation overtook his stomach, as if he was going to throw up. The only thing he remembered eating was the blue silver grass, and he knew snakes weren't herbivores.

His stomach's contents were expelled reflexively. What he threw up was the remains of the blue silver grass, though now there were only a few blades left.

After vomiting, Wang Lin felt a little better. To recover, he burrowed into a nearby anthill and called up his system.

The changes in the system were immediately apparent. His age had jumped from 476 to 513, and the bright light deer's age had increased by an additional 400 years. While the growth of the bright light deer could be attributed to the system's special properties, the increase in his own age was due to the blue silver grass. He now understood that consuming it caused his biological age to increase.

However, the increase in age didn't cause any noticeable changes in his body, likely because the amount of growth was too small.

The past few hours of his new life had been filled with ordeals. At every turn, he faced life-threatening danger in this ruthless jungle, where death could strike at any moment.

Deciding to take refuge in the anthill, Wang Lin resolved to stay hidden until he was stronger. Only then would he have a chance to survive this harsh environment.

But there was a problem: sustenance. Both food and water were critical for survival.

Wang Lin could only make do with the bright light deer stored in his system. He began a long period of hibernation, his body's functions slowing down. Periodically, he would wake to quench his hunger and thirst by drinking mouthfuls of the bright light deer's blood.

With each awakening, the amount of blood he drank decreased, but each portion contained more energy than the last.

This cycle of blood drinking and hibernation continued for two months. Unknown to him, his body grew from 4 meters to 10 meters, and his scales changed from ink green to pink.

Chapter-3 The Destined Meeting
Wang Lin's scales began a molting process; his ink-green scales shed, revealing bright pink scales underneath. As his 10-meter-long body shrank to just 1 meter, it emitted a brilliant burst of light.

Upon awakening from his slumber, right after completing his metamorphosis, Wang Lin promptly accessed his system menu.

The system data displayed remarkable changes. Although he couldn't track the passage of days and nights while he was asleep, he estimated he had spent a few months in hibernation.

Over a short period, he had aged from 400 years to 1000 years. The most astonishing development was the Bright Light Deer's growth; it increased from a mere 1000 years to 60 thousand years within those few months.

This transformation was made possible by consuming dense, enriched blood, which grew more potent with each passing moment.

However, he noticed that, despite his increased age, he was smaller than when he was 400 years old. Additionally, his scales had changed to a bright pink hue.

Two new storage spots had become available. He assumed these would unlock automatically over time.

Driven by the desire to make the most of the opportunity, he was eager to venture into the forest. Every moment his storage spots remained empty meant losing potential gains.

Without hesitation, he emerged from the anthill, filled with newfound vigor and the hope of advancing his age.

He used his keen senses to detect odor molecules in the air and quickly identified his target—a pink-colored rabbit.

The rabbit hopped around, grazing on the delicious blue-silver grass while remaining vigilant.

Wang Lin stealthily stalked the soft-boned rabbit, slithering through the shadows of the trees. He positioned himself among a cluster of flowers to camouflage his presence.

The unsuspecting rabbit continued grazing, oblivious to the danger. Wang Lin lay in wait, ready to strike and inject his venom.

As the rabbit moved closer to the dazzling flower, it came within reach of the pink-scaled serpent. Wang Lin sank his fangs into the rabbit's torso and injected one-third of his venom.

The rabbit went into a frenzy, kicking wildly and sending Wang Lin in a random direction before darting away in the opposite direction.

Wang Lin was flung into the sky, crashed into the trunk of a tree, and then fell to the ground. The impact and fall caused him considerable pain.

It took him a while to recover and resume his pursuit. Once the venom was injected, unless the prey was exceptionally strong, it was bound to die eventually.

Thus, the rabbit's struggle was in vain. Wang Lin tracked the traces left by the rabbit and continued his pursuit.

---

At the outer perimeter of the Star Dou Forest, a group of spirit masters gathered around the serpent's corpse. The serpent had a crest on its head and a pair of wings encircling its neck. Oscar sat in front of the Phoenix Tail Crest Serpent, absorbing its purple spirit ring. The Shrek team, along with Zhao Wuji, stood guard around Oscar, recovering from the energy expended in the previous battle.

After absorbing the spirit ring, Oscar's physical stature grew, and three spirit rings—two yellow and one purple—hovered around him.

"Congratulations, Oscar, on obtaining a year spirit ring for your third ring. Not every spirit master can acquire a thousand-year spirit ring at rank 30," Zhao Wuji said.

"Oscar, what ability did you gain from your third ring?" Dai Mubai asked.

"I'll tell you about my third spirit ring ability, but you have to promise not to laugh," Oscar pleaded.

Everyone around him nodded in agreement, except for Tang San, who was meditating to recover his energy.

Oscar closed his eyes as the purple spirit ring hovered before him and chanted, "Your father, I have a mushroom sausage."

The group burst into laughter at the chant. As they laughed, Tang San woke from his meditation and, upon hearing the laughter, looked around in confusion.

"What's going on? Why is everyone laughing?" Tang San asked, puzzled.

Just as Ma Hongjun was about to explain, a pink furball dashed into the center of the group. Distracted by their laughter, even Zhao Wuji, a level 70 spirit master, didn't notice the soft-boned rabbit that had escaped from Wang Lin and was heading straight toward them.

As the group noticed the strange furball, they quickly adopted a defensive stance. A black spirit ring hovered in front of Zhao Wuji, and the gravity around the soft-boned rabbit intensified, pinning it flat against the ground as it struggled to rise.

"It's just a soft-boned rabbit; there's nothing to worry about," Tang San said, trying to ease the tension.

With his words, the atmosphere relaxed somewhat. Zhao Wuji lifted his gravity ability.

The soft-boned rabbit struggled to stand, its body battered by the intense gravity and the venom coursing through it. Its breathing was faint, and it seemed close to death.

"Sister Wu, isn't this spirit beast the same as your martial spirit?" Ma Hongjun inquired.

"It is indeed the same as my martial spirit. It's quite pitiful and looks like it might die at any moment," Xiao Wu replied, gazing at the soft-boned rabbit with sympathy.

"Oscar, could you give me a recovery sausage? I promise I won't laugh at your incantation anymore," Xiao Wu requested.

"You don't need to ask, Sister Wu," Oscar said, producing a recovery sausage and handing it to Xiao Wu.

Xiao Wu promptly fed it to the soft-boned rabbit. Its breathing soon stabilized, and Xiao Wu cradled it gently in her arms.

"Third brother, look at this poor rabbit. Can we keep it as a pet?" Xiao Wu asked with a compassionate look.

"We'll worry about keeping it as a pet later. For now, let's deal with the beast that was chasing it," Zhao Wuji said, turning toward the darkness of the forest where a pair of scarlet eyes glared back at them.

In response, Tang San and his group turned in the direction Zhao Wuji was facing. Tang San activated the Purple Demon Eye in his pupil's was the reflection of a bright pink snake—the very snake he had initially hunted for his first spirit ring: the Datura Snake.

Chapter-4 Perilous Predicament
Tang San was able to quickly identify the pink-scaled Datura snake with the help of his Purple Demon Eyes, even though it was quite far away.

"Teacher Wuji, it's a Datura snake. From its size and color, it must be at least 1,000 years old," warned Tang San.

"Xiao San, you have better perception than me. I can't even tell what kind of spirit beast it is. If it's only a thousand-year-old spirit beast, there's no danger."

"Mubai, kill it. We'll have roasted snake for dinner," instructed Zhao Wuji.

"Teacher, can I fight it?" asked Tang San.

"Hoho, Xiao San, you also want roasted snake, huh?" bellowed Zhao Wuji.

"No, teacher. I want to hunt the Datura snake for my third spirit ring," replied Tang San.

"Crafty Xiao San, if you wanted to eat roasted snake that badly, you should have just asked. No need to lie to your teacher," said Zhao Wuji.

"Teacher Zhao, I reached 30 soul power after the battle with the Phoenix-Tail Crest Serpent. I need a third spirit ring. Since we're already in Star Dou Forest, it's better if we get it now. That Datura snake looks old enough for my spirit ring," said Tang San.

"I remember Master teaching me that the ideal third spirit ring should be between 1,300 and 1,800 years old, and the Datura snake matches the attributes of my Blue Silver Grass," added Tang San.

"Xiao San, how old are you?" asked Zhao Wuji.

"I turned 12 a couple of months ago, teacher," replied Tang San.

"Damn, I thought Oscar was a monster for reaching Soul Elder at 13, but for you to reach it at 12—you're a monster among monsters!" said Zhao Wuji.

"You are the youngest Soul Elder in the whole Heaven Dou Empire. Good, if you want the snake for your spirit ring, go ahead. I'll eat something else for dinner."

Tang San marched toward Wang Lin after getting permission from Zhao Wuji, with hidden weapons in hand.

Wang Lin POV

Wang Lin followed the tracks of a Soft-Boned Rabbit until they came to a dead end. Along with the rabbit, there were eight other distinct scents in the area.

Their silhouettes vaguely resembled humans from a distance, but Wang Lin couldn't make an accurate judgment.

His presence startled the group, as he saw them stop whatever they were doing and simultaneously turn in his direction using his infrared vision.

As he considered his next move, one of them began walking toward him.

Quickly, Wang Lin turned to escape, but before he could get far, the grass around him sprang up like a serpent, winding around him and trapping him in place.

He thrashed desperately, trying to break free, but the Blue Silver Grass only tightened its hold.

As Wang Lin struggled, he saw something fly out of the hand of the person approaching him.

Tang San's hidden weapon struck Wang Lin with precision, pinning him to a tree and cutting off any chance of escape. He hung there, limp and trapped.

Tang San inched closer, and as he neared, Wang Lin mustered all his remaining strength to spray venom at Tang San's eyes in one final attempt.

Unfortunately for Wang Lin, Tang San had predicted the attack with his Purple Demon Eyes, dodging swiftly out of the venom's path and releasing another dart.

The second dart pierced Wang Lin just below his neck, further restricting his movement.

"I guess this is how I die for the second time. Well, I won't go alone. I'll take you with me, you bastard," Wang Lin hissed in fury. Yellow venom dripped from his fangs, and green blood flowed from his wounds, painting a gruesome sight.

Tang San stood motionless before the tree where Wang Lin was pinned, a dart in hand aimed at Wang Lin's head.

"Teacher Zhao, even though it's mutated, based on the length of this Datura snake, it's under 1,200 years old. You said I should be able to withstand something older with my physique," said Tang San.

He stared at the Pink Datura Snake for a while.

"Xiao San, now's not the time to worry about that," said Dai Mubai.

Confused, Tang San turned to see the Shrek team taking cover behind Zhao Wuji, who was surrounded by seven spirit rings. Before them stood a massive beast, towering a hundred meters tall—the Titan Giant Ape, a mythological spirit beast over 100,000 years old.

The Titan Giant Ape loomed over the trees of Star Dou Forest, casting a shadow over the Shrek group. It released an ear-shattering roar, pounding its chest and the ground beneath it.

The Titan Ape's roar sent shockwaves through the forest, causing all nearby spirit beasts to flee in terror.

Trees were uprooted as the ground shook with the force of the titan's movements.

In the midst of this chaos, Tang San reached the Shrek group, and together they took a defensive position behind Zhao Wuji.

"Oscar, give everyone your flying sausages. Xiao San, cover their escape. I'll hold the Titan Ape off for a while," ordered Zhao Wuji.

The Titan Giant Ape swung its enormous arm toward the group. Zhao Wuji activated his Spirit Avatar, momentarily blocking the blow, but the sheer force broke through.

The Shrek Seven barely had time to eat the sausages as they scattered in all directions.

Tang San used his Blue Silver Vines to pull team members who were too close to danger into the air.

Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing took cover in a pit, while Oscar and Ning Rongrong hid behind a giant boulder.

Tang San held Ma Hongjun with his Blue Silver Vines while swinging Xiao Wu into the air, away from the flying debris.

As Xiao Wu soared through the air, the Titan Giant Ape's massive hand reached out, capturing her in its grasp.

"NO! Xiao Wu!" cried Tang San as he watched in horror.

He attacked immediately, with Zhao Wuji also releasing his spirit abilities, but the Titan Giant Ape swatted their attacks away effortlessly.

With a powerful leap, the Titan Giant Ape crossed a vast distance, disappearing into the forest with Xiao Wu in its hand, leaving the Shrek team behind.

Chapter-5 New Life
Wang Lin POV
Wang Lin came to terms with the end of his life as he gazed at the dart that resembled the ones nailing his body to the wood.

However, death didn't come as quickly as expected. Curiously, he looked at his killer for any clues. At close range, the teenager seemed to be deep in thought, standing there in a daze.

Wang Lin's life hung by a thread as the seconds ticked by. He observed the teenager through a foggy mind, feeling death approach.

Behind the teenager, Wang Lin noticed a massive heat signature clouding the other heat signatures emitted by the group.
The heat signature resembled a humanoid figure, filling his vision. The beast began rampaging, sending dust and debris flying around it.

Just when Wang Lin thought he might escape death at the hands of the human group, the titanic beast pummeled the ground, causing an earthquake. The immense force sent trees flying, including the one holding Wang Lin. It was uprooted entirely and flung towards the core region of the Star Dou Forest.

This massive force hurled the nearly dying Wang Lin into unconsciousness as he was flung along with the tree, which hit the ground after several long seconds.

When the tree landed, the impact dislodged the hidden weapons that had pinned Wang Lin to it. He lay beside the tree, with his puncture wounds bleeding.

Time passed, and Wang Lin regained consciousness, observing his surroundings with a bloodied body.
He looked at his bleeding wounds, dazed, searching for any solution that might save his life. If he didn't act quickly, he might not live to see the sunrise.

The only thing that came to his mind was the system.

The only possible help was the Bright Light Deer. Wang Lin summoned it from the system.
Lying before him was the corpse of the beast, larger than it was when it died. Its vibrant hide reflected all the light shining upon it, a magnificent sight when it had been alive.

But now, it lay dead with a mutilated torso and its guts spilled, yet no visible blood. All of the deer's blood had been consumed during hibernation.

The blood of the spirit beast had a nourishing effect. Consuming it increased Wang Lin's vigor, and according to the system panel, frequent consumption increased his age.

If an increase in age also meant an increase in strength, it would be an ideal way to grow stronger by consuming other spirit beasts.

To Wang Lin's disappointment, there was no more blood for him to consume. He had rationed all the blood during his hibernation. His snake physiology prevented him from directly consuming the flesh. If he tried, it would be fatal.
So, he did the only thing he could. He entered the gutted opening in the torso of the corpse and slithered towards its chest.
After quite a struggle, he reached the heart of the beast. Sinking his serpentine teeth into it, he made a small hole in the heart and entered the chambers that held the last bit of blood.

He plunged into the blood headfirst and drank all the remaining essence, unknowingly consuming the most potent blood of the Bright Light Deer—blood from a 60,000-year-old spirit beast.

As soon as the blood essence entered his body, his wounds healed, and new scales grew in place of the old ones. His size increased from one meter to three meters.

In a matter of minutes, he transformed from a dying state to one of renewed vigor.

Tang San POV
"This can't be happening. It should have been me, not Xiao Wu. If only I had been faster, if only I had been stronger," Tang San thought, guilt and regret clouding his mind.

Tang San attacked the Titan Giant Ape with his Zhuge Crossbow, but the ape swatted the arrows away effortlessly.
The Titan Giant Ape left with Xiao Wu in its hands, her helpless expression burning into Tang San's heart as it disappeared, leaving only destruction in its wake.

Without a second thought, Tang San ran after it, driven by nothing but impulse, but Zhao Wuji stopped him.
"Xiao San, get yourself together! You can't rescue her if you blindly follow without a plan," Zhao Wuji said in a reprimanding tone.

He turned to the Shrek group. "Everyone, recover your strength. We'll move camp and plan the rescue."
"Oscar, if you think of me as a brother, give me some mushroom sausages," Tang San whispered to Oscar without anyone else hearing.

"Xiao San, you know it's foolish to go after the Titan Giant Ape. Teacher Zhao said we'd make a plan for the rescue," Oscar replied.

"Oscar, would you say the same thing if someone from your family was abducted? I need to go after Xiao Wu, even if it costs me my life. If I survive, I'll remember this favor," Tang San said, determination in his voice.
With a sigh, Oscar chanted his vulgar incantation without alerting anyone else and handed Tang San a couple of flying mushroom sausages.

Tang San ate the mushroom sausages and dashed in the direction the Titan Giant Ape had gone. The Shrek group and Zhao Wuji were shocked. Zhao Wuji sprinted after him, but just as he was about to reach him, a pink glow enveloped Tang San—a speed boost from Ning Rongrong's Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda martial spirit. The second ring's speed boost was activated, and Tang San disappeared into the forest.

"You reckless fool!" Zhao Wuji roared at both Oscar and Ning Rongrong. "Do you have any idea how dangerous this forest is? Anything could kill him in an instant!"

Grumbling, Zhao Wuji muttered, "Flender will kill me if I return with two missing people, especially with the Clear Sky Douluo's son…"

He clenched his fists in frustration. "Give me one of those sausages! Let's follow him. If we die, we'll die together."
The Shrek group ate their flying mushroom sausages and followed behind Tang San, unaware they were heading toward a familiar pink snake hiding inside a corpse.

Chapter-6 Killing your killer
Tang San moved through the forest in a frantic manner, dodging branches and the occasional spirit beast. The ethereal wings made of light on his back dimmed in glow and disappeared after traveling some distance.

He took another mushroom sausage from his 24 Bridges Moonlit Belt, which sprouted a new pair of wings, and continued his pursuit of the Titan Giant Ape that held Xiao Wu hostage.

"Nothing can happen to you, Xiao Wu. I will rescue you, even at the cost of my life," Tang San reassured himself.

Wang Lin's POV

The potent blood essence of the 60,000-year-old Bright Light Deer was more than enough to heal his wounds. He recovered from his injuries while lying in the inner cavity of the Bright Light Deer.

The pressure and aura emanating from the ten-thousand-year-old beast kept most spirit beasts at bay. However, not every beast is intimidated by the aura of a ten-thousand-year-old beast, especially one that is dead.

The bloody smell in the air attracted one such spirit beast, and a sinister atmosphere began to grow. The noise of clattering sounded near the corpse of the Bright Light Deer, akin to bones rubbing against each other. A Man-Faced Demon Spider appeared from the shadows, vigilantly surveying the area for any other presence near the corpse.

It approached the corpse without delay after detecting no other presence. The Man-Faced Demon Spider appeared to be around 2,500 years old and resembled others of its species. However, there was something unique about this particular spider. Its torso and human-shaped head seemed to be partially melted on one side, likely from some kind of burn attack.
The spider began to savor the meat of the deer spirit beast, both it and Wang Lin being unaware of each other's presence.

One was too immersed in devouring a beast far more powerful than itself, which would increase its strength, while the other was healing from life-threatening wounds.

A momentary peace settled in the area. Before either could become aware of the other, another party disturbed this tranquility: the one madly running through the forest in search of his beloved.

Tang San used up the last of the mushroom sausage after its effect wore off and continued his pursuit on foot. He navigated around spirit beasts, dodging them with his nimble Ghost Perplexing Shadow skill and his reconnaissance from his Purple Demon Eyes.

However, his good luck seemed to run out after a while, and he found himself face-to-face with the Man-Faced Demon Spider that was eating a corpse. Disturbed from its meal, the spider turned to look at Tang San with fury in its eyes. It lunged toward him with its eight legs, trying to make him its next meal.

Reacting quickly, Tang San moved with utmost concentration, knowing that every second was vital for the rescue of Xiao Wu. He deployed Blue Silver Vines beneath the spider to stop its momentum in the air. As it dropped to the ground, he took out his Zhuge Crossbow and fired projectiles toward the spider.

Startled by the vines, the Man-Faced Demon Spider fell to the ground, but it was able to deflect most of the arrows that came toward it with its numerous legs. It deflected all but one of the arrows, which slipped through the gaps in its legs and lodged into its skull. However, because of its thick carapace, the arrow penetrated only a short distance. The spider quickly escaped from its bindings and dashed toward Tang San with full force.

When it was close enough, Tang San held a hammer in his hand: his second spirit, the Clear Sky Hammer, one of the top weapon spirits. He threw the Clear Sky Hammer upwards into the sky, with Blue Silver Vines attached to it. The hammer flew up across the branches of the tree above his head, and as it came down with its weight, it pulled Tang San up along with the Blue Silver Grass.

The Man-Faced Demon Spider, with its full momentum, smashed into the tree and paused for a moment, dizzy from the impact. Hanging from the tree, Tang San dropped as the Clear Sky Hammer disappeared from his grasp and reappeared in his hands once again.

Taking advantage of the disoriented Man-Faced Demon Spider, Tang San swung the Clear Sky Hammer with full force and struck the arrow lodged in its head. With the weight of the hammer and the force behind it, the arrow shot through the spider's skull and exited from the other side.

Before the creature could understand how it was killed, it lay dead, a gaping hole in its body. Tang San took a moment to gather himself. Before he could continue his pursuit of Xiao Wu, a purple spirit ring emerged near the corpse of the Man-Faced Demon Spider.

Tang San looked at the purple spirit ring and reminded himself why Xiao Wu had been abducted: because he was weak. He took a meditative position and started absorbing the spirit ring as it was pulled toward him.

While he was absorbing the spirit ring, there was a momentary disturbance from the corpse of the Bright Light Deer spirit beast. Wang Lin emerged from the carcass, unaware of the commotion that had taken place outside.

The first thing he noticed upon exiting was the presence of other beings nearby. Vigilantly, he scanned the air for more details. He recognized a familiar odor, one he had encountered before. Quickly, he identified the smell as belonging to Tang San.

Upon locating the source of the scent, he saw Tang San in a meditative position next to the dead Man-Faced Demon Spider. Wang Lin quickly recognized the teenager who had tried to kill him and the spider that had fought against the Fire Mastiff, identifiable by the burn marks on its torso.

He slithered toward Tang San and crawled in front of him, taking a closer look at the killer who had once tried to take his life. As he opened his mouth, venom dripped from his fangs, falling to the ground and melting the soil into a goopy mess.
Wang Lin took a position to strike, gathering momentum for his next move.

Chapter-7 Mercy of the Weak
As Wang Lin was about to attack, he backed off. Tang San was struggling to absorb the spirit ring that reached the limit he could bear.

"Even though you attacked me unwarranted, I can't kill a human just because you tried to kill me," Wang Lin decided against killing a human

Wang Lin looked at Tang San once again to remember his face and then shifted his attention toward the Man-Faced Demon Spider.

The space in his system remained empty, so he stored the corpse of the Demon Spider in his system.

"Thank you for the gift. Next time we meet, I will definitely repay you," Wang Lin spoke, but all that came out were a couple of hisses.

Before he could spend any more time, he heard sounds of activity in the distance. At the speed it was moving toward them, they would reach in a couple of minutes.

He slithered toward the corpse of the Bright Light Deer and stored it in his system.

Wang Lin made a quick escape from the area and moved toward the core of the Star Dou Forest.

**Tang San's POV**

The Shrek group and Zhao Wujii arrived at the location where Tang San was absorbing the ring.

They sighed in relief upon finding Tang San with no visible harm.

"Teacher Zhao, Xiao San seems to be absorbing a spirit ring, but I don't find any corpse of a spirit beast nearby," said Dai Mubai.

"Even though there is no corpse, look at the purple blood on the ground. There should have been a corpse here," replied Oscar.

"We should be thankful that whatever took the corpse of the beast left Xiao San alone without attacking," said Zhao Wuji. "We will move out from this place as soon as Xiao San finishes absorbing the spirit ring."

They gathered around Tang San and stood guard while he absorbed the spirit ring. As time passed, Tang San seemed to struggle more.

The nerves on his forehead bulged with pressure, and his skin turned red. As the sun rose in the sky, Zhao Wuji began to worry; Tang San seemed to struggle more.

"What if Xiao San absorbed a spirit ring that crossed the limit?" said Ma Hongjun.

"Mubai, how much time has passed since we separated from Xiao San?" asked Zhao Wujii.

"Teacher, more than six hours have passed since we were attacked by the Titan Giant Ape," said Oscar.

"We will wait a couple more hours. If Xiao San doesn't wake up, I will forcefully stop his ring absorption process. It may injure his martial spirit, but it is better than dying," said Zhao Wuji.

Time passed with no result, as Tang San struggled, his veins bulging and blood streaming down his nose.

"I should stop the absorption; it would be too late to do anything later," said Zhao Wuji as he walked toward Tang San.

There was a rustling sound near their camp. Everyone turned their attention to the source of the noise.

Emerging from the darkness was Xiao Wu, holding the Pink Bone Rabbit in her bosom. She walked with a worried look on her face as she glanced at Tang San.

"Teacher, what happened to my brother, and why is there blood all over his body?" asked Xiao Wu.

Everyone's face reflected surprise upon seeing Xiao Wu alive.

"Xiao San decided to absorb a spirit ring after escaping from the group to rescue you. We think he might have absorbed a spirit ring older than his body could bear."

"We were thinking of forcefully stopping the absorption process. But Xiao Wu, how is it that you are here when the Titan Giant Ape took you into the forest?" questioned Zhao Wujii.

"I don't know, Teacher. One second I was in the grip of the Titan Giant Ape, then I heard a roar from deep inside the forest. The Titan Giant Ape dropped me halfway and ran away by itself," replied Xiao Wu, guilt evident on her face.

"If you heard a roar from the core of the Star Dou Forest, it must be the Great Beast Azure Bull Python; only it could scare away the Titan Giant Ape," said Zhao Wuji.

"Whatever the reason, it's good that you are safe, Xiao Wu. Everyone was worried about you," said Ning Rongrong, embracing Xiao Wu.

"I'm safe, but because of me, my brother is in danger. Please don't die, brother," said Xiao Wu, tears in her eyes.

Tang San, who was struggling to absorb the spirit ring, began to stabilize and finished absorbing the ring a couple of minutes after hearing Xiao Wu's voice.

When Tang San woke up, he gazed at Xiao Wu the moment he opened his eyes. He rose to his feet and took Xiao Wu in his embrace, frantically apologizing for not protecting her.

Upon seeing that Tang San was safe, everyone came together for a group embrace.

"You bastard! Do you not care for my words? You rebellious student! Why did you run away, and why did you risk absorbing a spirit ring over 2,000 years old?" yelled Zhao Wuji in fury.

"I'm sorry, Teacher. All I could think of in that moment was rescuing Xiao Wu. Please forgive me. How about this: you can keep all the snake meat for dinner," said Tang San.

"Do you think it's time for dinner now?" said Zhao Wuji, pointing at the rising sun.

"But, Senior Zhao, where do you think the snake that Xiao San fought is? I also wanted to eat it! Just imagine the taste of a roasted snake with a little spice; just the thought of it is making my mouth water!" asked Ma Hongjun.

"How would I know? It must be buried under all the debris that the Titan Giant Ape flipped over," replied Zhao Wuji, holding Ma Hongjun's head in his grip.

"The adventures we had in a couple of hours are more than enough for this trip. Let's pack up and go back to the academy," said Zhao Wuji as they set out toward Shrek Academy.

Unknown to them, the meal they were talking about was hunting a plump poisonous frog for its next meal.

Chapter-8 Hundred Thoudsand Year Old Spirit Beast
Wang Lin lurked in the branches of the tree, observing a golden frog from a distance.

The frog was basking in the sun with its eyes closed on a lotus leaf floating in the pond.

After observing the frog for a while, Wang Lin slithered down from the tree and entered the pond without alerting it.

He swam under the water, hiding below the lotus leaf. He waited for an opportune moment to attack, keeping his sight on the shadowy silhouette of the frog on the lotus leaf.

He inched closer to the golden metal frog, unhinged his jaw, sank his fangs in, and injected venom into its body.

The golden metal frog didn't last long. Wang Lin wanted to store the corpse in his system, but there was no space available. So he swam to the bank of the pond and swallowed the frog whole. This was the first thing he ate after waking up in this body.

The raw flesh of animals didn't seem to affect him that much. It had been two months since becoming a snake, even though most of it was spent sleeping.

Wang Lin, sunning himself by the pond after his meal, thought about what to do next.

He was tired of playing cat-and-mouse games. All he needed was time and the corpses of animals to grow stronger.

Venturing into the Star Dou Forest could turn perilous at any time, so he needed a secure place to grow stronger.

While lost in thought, an idea sparked in his mind: not only animal corpses but also plants could help him grow stronger. The blue silver grass he had eaten seemed to increase his age. Although he couldn't digest it fully, it had still added a couple of years to his age on the panel.

So he decided to test whether this was feasible. He searched his surroundings and quickly found a plant with flowers at the top. He slithered over, wrapped himself around its stem, and pulled it from the ground, its roots resembling those of ginseng.

he opened the on-hook panel.
On Hook Panel:
  • Name: Wang Lin
  • Attribute: Poison
  • Age: 3,923 years
  • Grid 1: Bright Light Deer (62k years)
  • Grid 2: Man-Faced Demon Spider (3k years)
  • Grid 3: Locked
But all the available slots were occupied, so he had no other choice but to take out the Man-Faced Demon Spider, dump it in the pond, and place the ginseng in his second slot.

He waited for the ginseng to grow in age so he could test his hypothesis. While he waited, he observed the pond as spirit beasts came to drink the water.

Wang Lin wanted to make the pond his base. The pond's location was in a narrow valley with an entrance allowing only small spirit beasts to pass.

So he devised a plan to slowly poison the waters of the pond to keep away the spirit beasts that came looking for water.

Wang Lin slithered toward the pond and sank into its depths, lurking as he released his poison frequently into the waters of the pond.

Two Months Later
The pond in the valley turned green; all the vegetation near the pond had wilted away. Small spirit beast skeletons lay around the pond. The area was eerily silent, the poisoned pond water still and without waves.

Breaking the water's stillness, air bubbles emerged to the surface, followed by the head of a monstrous ten-meter-long, four-meter-wide snake with purple scales.

In the past two months, Wang Lin had undergone a mind-blowing transformation, growing significantly in size.

On Hook Panel:
  • Name: Wang Lin
  • Attribute: Poison
  • Age: 23,023 years
  • Grids Available: 4
  • Items: Bright Light Deer (122k years), Spirit Ginseng (60k years), Ghost Wolf (36k years), Man-Faced Demon Spider (6k years)
Although cumbersome to digest, the spirit ginseng allowed him to gain years of progress from small bites, unlike spirit beast corpses, which disappeared after consumption. The spirit ginseng could recover its size after some time in the system.

In just four months, Wang Lin had grown from a measly 100-year-old spirit beast to a 20,000-year-old one. After reaching and crossing the 10,000-year mark, his size stabilized at ten meters. His pink scales molted and turned purple.

Astonishingly, he unlocked two new spots in the system, which he filled with a Ghost Wolf spirit beast that wandered near the valley, along with the Man-Faced Demon Spider. The Bright Light Deer had also reached the 100,000-year mark with no signs of slowing down.

The poison he released in these two months had increased in potency compared to the beginning, polluting the pond water and diverting all potential spirit beasts that came looking for water.

Wang Lin grew bored of the monotonous routine of the past two months, so he wanted to venture into the depths of Star Dou.

Before setting out, he decided to gain more strength as a last-ditch effort.

The corpse of the Bright Light Deer emerged from the system, floating on the poisoned waters of the pond.

The corpse of the dead Bright Light Deer was far more majestic in appearance than it had been in life.
Its horns and markings throbbed with pulses of light-attributed energy, and after reaching the 100,000-year mark, the beast's blood and flesh seemed to sublimate in quality.

Wang Lin unhinged his jaw, swallowed the corpse whole, and sank to the bottom of the pond.
He knew he would emerge stronger after digesting the corpse. He knew that Star Dou Forest held many surprises, and he was curious about the human settlements
.
He knew that whatever came his way would meet its death, content after a long period of only worrying about survival. Wang Lin fell asleep.

Time passed. The poisonous valley of the purple serpent returned to its eerie silence. Fate seemed to sense Wang Lin's growing confidence.

Roaming high above the waters of the poison valley, the rebellious spirit of the sky, the Emerald Demon Bird, cast a shadow on the waters where Wang Lin lay asleep.

Chapter-9 Compound Growth
The purple mists around the valley clouded the things they concealed. It had been another two months since Wang Lin consumed the 100,000-year-old Bright Light deer.

The withered vegetation made way for new plants that thrived in the poisonous environment. He enriched the surrounding poison concentration by releasing showers of poison into the air—a feat he couldn't have achieved a few months ago. But now, with his higher cultivation, he could release large amounts of potent poison.

The pond and its surroundings hosted poisonous insects like centipedes, scorpions, and other venomous creatures. In a matter of months, Wang Lin had transformed a normal pond in the Star Duo forest into a paradise for poison-attributed creatures. However, for any weaker creature, leaving the poison valley alive would be a rare feat.

Wang Lin slithered through the trees with his enormous body. He frequently ventured outside the valley to collect spirit beasts with poison attributes. This new need for poison-attributed beasts arose due to an incident a couple of weeks prior.

The Ghost Wolf he had reached 100,000 years, followed by the Man-Faced Demon Spider, which reached 90,000 years. In his eagerness for quick gains, he consumed both of them. However, the Light-attributed energy from the Bright Light deer and the Dark-attributed energy from both the Ghost Wolf and the Man-Faced Demon Spider violently clashed.

The opposing energies wreaked havoc within Wang Lin's body, rupturing his internal organs and inflicting severe injuries. He was only able to heal himself thanks to the abundant blood energy provided by the Spirit Ginseng.

This experience taught Wang Lin a vital lesson: not to consume spirit beasts with opposing attributes. With his growing cultivation, he could use his inner sense to identify the most compatible path, which turned out to be poison. However, poison alone wasn't enough to counter energy-based attacks, so, in addition to poison-attributed beasts, he hunted spirit beasts with darkness attributes.

His frequent hunts reduced the beast population around the valley, forcing him to venture further into the forest. The passage of two months afforded him two more positions for items, so he scouted for unique herbs and spirit beasts for his collection.

His hunting spree was not without reward; it sharpened his combat experience, even though most of the beasts he hunted were weaker than him.

Like after every hunt, Wang Lin entered the valley through an entrance he had to widen due to his increased size, then moved near the pond. While admiring his majestic reflection, a spirit beast suddenly swooped down from the sky, aiming to pierce its claws into his skull.

Before it could reach him, Wang Lin reacted by whipping his body, striking the bird with his head and sending it flying over the poison pond and into the trees. The impact broke its wings, making escape impossible. Wang Lin slithered toward it leisurely, then sank his deadly fangs into the Emerald Demon Bird, ignoring its pleading cries as he put it out of its misery.

Wang Lin didn't even know what kind of beast he had killed. Otherwise, he would have been quite surprised—the Emerald Demon Bird was one of the most fearsome creatures of the skies, bold enough to attack dragons without hesitation.

Though it seemed unfair, he had used his advanced cultivation of 60,000 years to kill a 20,000-year-old beast. It was still an impressive feat, given the limitations of the Datura snake species in attacks.

After storing the Emerald Demon Bird, Wang Lin returned to his routine of resting in the pond and hunting beyond the valley. The cycle of day and night passed swiftly as he settled into this rhythm, and another three months elapsed without his noticing.

He gained three additional slots for storage in the system space. The speed at which he was gaining new slots was making it hard for him to find spirit beast and plants that were compatible with him.

It was another hunting day for him, with the area he hunted in now farther from the poison valley, as each hunt depleted the local population of beasts.
He was trailing a white tiger spirit beast when he stumbled upon a group of humans and spirit beasts locked in battle.

Some members of the human party materialized weapons like spears out of thin air, others transformed into humanoid-beast hybrids, while others launched energy attacks. All the humans shared a common feature: floating rings of light encircling them. They were fighting against a mother Dark Gold Fear Claw Bear spirit beast that was protecting her cub.

The mother Dark Gold Fear Claw Bear appeared to be around 20,000 years old, and the human party was struggling under her fierce onslaught. However, with their versatile attacks and coordinated teamwork, they soon gained the upper hand.

Wang Lin's past encounter with humans had left him with bitter memories that he couldn't shake. So, upon encountering another human entourage, he intended to turn away. But seeing the human group bullying the mother bear reminded him of the time he had been attacked while helpless, left on the verge of death.

He released a beastly roar into the air, alerting both the bear and the human spirit masters.

Moving swiftly toward them, he alarmed the spirit masters, who were on the verge of killing the mother Dark Gold Fear Claw Bear, but Wang Lin's arrival foiled their plan. After quickly gauging Wang Lin's age and cultivation, they decided to retreat, realizing that to fight him would be to court death.

The human spirit masters vanished, leaving only Wang Lin and the mother bear, who stood on guard, protectively shielding her cub and watching him warily.
Wang Lin tossed a corpse from the system toward the injured mother Dark Gold Fear Claw Bear, then slithered back toward the poison valley, ending his hunt for the day.

For three months without interruption, Wang Lin progressed from a sixty-thousand-year-old snake to just a few hundred years short of one hundred thousand years.

Wang Lin was resting in the poison pond, waiting for the moment he would reach 100,000 years. He hadn't noticed any significant changes as he grew from 10,000 to 100,000 years, except for an increase in strength. He hoped there would be more transformations once he reached the 100,000-year mark.

However, before he could reach the milestone, he encountered some uninvited guests.

Outside Poison Valley, a group of spirit masters was advancing directly toward Wang Lin's location; there were three spirit masters in total.

"Nephew Xiang Li, are you sure you saw the mutated serpent here?" asked Bai Du.

"Uncle Bai Du, I'm sure. The mutated spirit beast was definitely over 60,000 years old. It would be an ideal fit for your ninth spirit ring," said Xiang Li.

"It's not that I don't believe you, but finding a spirit beast over 50,000 years old is usually only possible in the inner regions of the Star Dou Forest. That's why I find it hard to believe you saw a 60,000-year-old beast here in the outer regions," said Bai Du.

"Uncle, why would I lie when you helped me hunt down the Dark Gold Terror Bear for my spirit ring? I even got a spirit bone from it," replied Xiang Li as golden claws extended from his palms.

"You fool, what did I tell you about showing your spirit bone outside? The only reason you're still alive is because you showed it to your Uncle Bai Du and me. If it were anyone else, you'd be dead," Xiang Shang scolded.

"Do you realize how valuable spirit bones are? If anyone else had seen it, they'd want to kill you for it," added Xiang Shang, hitting Xiang Li on the head.

"I'm sorry, Uncle. I won't do it again. I was just excited about getting a spirit bone. Uncle, why are we bringing the Dark Gold Terror Bear cub with us?" Xiang Li asked Xiang Shang pointing towards the unconscious Dark Gold Terror Bear cub.

"Nephew, do you know how terrifying Dark Gold Terror Bears are? Don't underestimate them just because Uncle Xiang Shang and I managed to hunt one," said Bai Du.

"In a direct confrontation, your Elephant Armor Beast spirit would lose. We only succeeded because my Corpse Poison Serpent martial spirit poisoned it, and more importantly, it was protecting this cub. If the Dark Gold Terror Bear had rampaged, even with your Uncle Xiang Shang being a titled Douluo and me a pseudo-titled Douluo, we would've had a hard time." said Bai Du.

"We're bringing the bear cub back to Elephant Academy to raise it as our guardian beast. So, you better take care of it," Xiang Shang warned Xiang Li, who nodded in response.

"Uncle, I think we've found the place where the mutated serpent is," Xiang Li said, staring at the thick purple poison mist floating at the entrance to the valley, his mouth agape.

The group of three entered the valley cautiously, searching for the snake.

Wang Lin's peaceful slumber was disturbed by the arrival of the three. The group scouted around the pond, only finding small, poison-attributed spirit beasts.

"Uncle, the mutated spirit beast doesn't seem to be here. Shouldn't we head back? The poison in the air is suffocating," Xiang Li said.

"Silly nephew, didn't you pay attention in your academy classes? Don't you see anything strange around the lake?" Xiang Shang asked.

"Except for the dried-up stream leading to the river, I don't see anything unusual," Xiang Li replied.

"Nephew, that's why I called you silly. It isn't a stream—it's a track left by the mutated serpent spirit beast. The beast isn't gone; it's hiding in the pond. Take this antidote and stay in the back while your Uncle Bai Du and I handle it," said Xiang Shang.

Just as he finished speaking, a colossal beast shot out from the poison pond, making it rain poison across the valley.

Wang Lin was preparing a poison flood attack, but before he could act, the spirit master Xiang Shang, wielding the Elephant Armor martial spirit, threw a boulder at him. Due to the close proximity, the boulder struck Wang Lin in the head.

Dizzy from the blow, Wang Lin didn't have time to orient himself before the spirit rings of the Elephant Armor and Corpse Poison Serpent spirit masters hovered in the air, raining attack after attack on him.

Disadvantaged by his inability to fly and limited to poison-based attacks, Wang Lin struggled to fend them off.

He tried to escape, but both spirit masters blocked the valley's entrance, trapping him inside. They took turns resting to recover their soul power while the other attacked, wearing him down over hours.

After the intense battle, Wang Lin lay prone, half his body in the pond, with wounds and missing scales covering him.

"Congratulations, Uncle Bai Du, on becoming a titled Douluo! Now our Elephant Armor Academy has two titled Douluos," shouted Xiang Li as the two spirit masters landed.

"It's too soon to celebrate, nephew. We don't yet know how old this mutant spirit beast is. It looks similar to a Datura snake, so it's definitely over 70,000 years old. It's good enough for my ninth spirit ring," said Bai Du, walking toward Wang Lin's seemingly lifeless body.

"Stop pretending, beast. If you were dead, a spirit ring would be floating above your corpse," Bai Du said, his eight spirit rings glowing around him.

Seeing this, Wang Lin knew he was discovered. Running on fumes, he rose to face the spirit masters.

In this life-threatening moment, Wang Lin opened the System, focusing on the 200,000 years old Spirit Ginseng .

"I wanted to see it reach a million years… to taste the energy of a million-year-old Spirit Ginseng," he thought in his mind.

With no other choice, he pulled the Spirit Ginseng from the System and consumed it, hoping it would restore his strength.

The sudden appearance of the Spirit Ginseng startled Bai Du, who backed off, ready for an unexpected attack.

As the dense energy from the Spirit Ginseng seeped into Wang Lin's body, his focus shifted. The System's age counter hit the 100,000-year mark, and the skies above Poison Valley darkened, signaling the birth of a new overlord in the Star Dou Forest.

Chapter-11 Double Tribulation
Wang Lin saw the drastic changes in the sky. The bright sun was hidden behind looming dark clouds, with lightning brewing inside of them. The clouds cast a shadow over the Poison Valley, turning day to night.

The sudden arrival of the thunderstorm confused Bai Du and the other two before a light bulb went off in Xiang Shan's mind.

"Brother Du, you've hit the jackpot. This mutated spirit beast is not only over 70,000 years old; it's going through its 100,000-year tribulation. Congratulations on the 100,000-year spirit ring for your ninth spirit ring," Xiang Shan said.

"You only need to wait until it successfully passes the tribulation, then kill it when it's weak afterward. If it fails, just make sure to land the final blow before its last breath," said Xiang Shan.

Bai Du was beaming with joy at the prospect of a 100,000-year red spirit ring. He looked at Wang Lin in anticipation.

The clouds in the sky gathered momentum before striking Wang Lin with white bolts of tribulation lightning filled with thunder-attributed soul power.

Wang Lin's snake eyes widened in shock and disbelief, cursing the heavens. Why were they striking him with lightning when it could land anywhere else in Poison Valley?

Being reincarnated from another world, he didn't understand that a 100,000-year beast would undergo a tribulation.

He tried to evade the lightning bolts, but to no avail. The barrage of lightning strikes increased in strength with each hit.

The lightning struck his already injured body, aggravating his wounds. After Wang Lin withstood a tribulation lightning bolt, the lightning dissolved into every part of his body, nourishing it.

It also catalyzed the spirit ginseng to dissolve, releasing its energy directly into his body, shortening the lengthy digestion process.

Even though Wang Lin was in a precarious position, he could feel the changes in his body due to his high spiritual power.

He opened his system to see what changes had taken place in the age column.

Name: Wang Lin

Attribute: Poison

Age: 100,232 years → 102,434 → 105,356 → 112,345

Grids Available: 9 (1 empty)

The age in the system column was skyrocketing at an astonishing speed. Wang Lin realized this was a perfect opportunity to accelerate his growth.

Wang Lin took out all the flora and fauna he had stored in his system space, materializing them out of thin air in front of him, and swallowed them whole, disregarding the spirit masters.

The spirit masters were stunned, watching corpses and plants appear out of nowhere. Before they could react, more transformations occurred before their eyes.

The combined cultivation of all the items was close to a million years. All these items gathered in his intestine, bathed in the lightning Wang Lin absorbed.

The corpses, largely dark or poison-attributed, released their blood and herbal essence into Wang Lin's body, initiating a new transformation. His body was forced to keep up with his rapidly increasing strength.

The barrage of tribulation lightning continued to rain down on Wang Lin's location. His body shrank, and new appendages grew before forming limbs and wings.

The poison in his glands began swirling, creating a suction force inside and around Wang Lin, drawing in soul power and poison from the pond. The energy released in his body formed a pseudo-poison soul core that continued to absorb soul power.

Darkness and poison-attributed soul power seeped into different parts of his body, and the trace amount of dragon heritage in Wang Lin's Datura Snake transformed him into a Darkness Poison Dragon.

Wang Lin's new form was drastically different. The scales on his body turned dark with hints of green. His size shrank from the height of several buildings to that of a truck.

Yet, while he lost his size advantage, he gained the ability to fly. The tribulation lightning continued to strike him, but the injuries healed quickly from the dense energy released by the spirit beasts inside him.

After recovering from his injuries, he turned his attention back to the spirit masters, who were gobsmacked by the transformations.

Wang Lin flew toward Bai Du with his newfound wings, holding him in his draconic embrace as a flood of lightning streamed down from the heavens, bathing them both.

Their reactions differed starkly. Wang Lin felt like he was soaking in warm water, while Bai Du struggled desperately, his blood vaporizing and his tissues burning. He lasted only a few seconds before he was reduced to a charred corpse.

Xiang Shan, seeing this, attempted to escape, throwing his nephew toward Wang Lin as he took to the air. He didn't get far before a whip of darkness grabbed his leg, pulling him to the ground.

Xiang Shan met his death in the same way as Bai Du, leaving only Xiang Li, who held a Dark Gold Bear in his hands, staring at the Dark Green Dragon in terror. Surprisingly, Wang Lin did not kill him but flew over the pond.

The 100,000-year tribulation continued, and before it ended, Wang Lin's system age hit the 200,000-year mark. The clouds grew darker, swallowing the whole forest around Poison Valley.

In his eagerness to gain power, Wang Lin made the mistake of consuming all the spirit beasts he had, resulting in this situation.

The potency of the tribulation lightning increased but remained manageable. Hovering above the poison pond, a tide of soul power moved toward Wang Lin as the pond's levels decreased. Both were absorbed by his growing poison soul core.

The tribulation went on for an hour before fizzling out. Wang Lin, at the last moment, tried to store the final lightning strike, a shot in the dark.

He opened his system panel in a hurry, surprised to find his attempt to store the tribulation lightning had succeeded.

Name: Wang Lin

Age: 203,564 years

The system storage was now empty from his earlier feast, with only one grid showing a lightning symbol.

The age column jumped from 100,000 to 200,000, and he gained a new darkness attribute.

He suppressed the happiness of his newfound strength, shifting his attention to the spirit master.

He flew toward Xiang Li, landing in front of him, radiating a menacing aura.

"Why did you kill the bear mother?" Wang Lin asked, this time not just talking to himself. His words reached Xiang Li.

Xiang Li's face was filled with fear and confusion, as he heard only an unfamiliar language. Wang Lin was speaking in English.

"I guess the reason doesn't matter when you'll be dead in a second," Wang Lin said, enveloping the sleeping Dark Gold Bear in a thick coat of darkness.

He released power from his soul core, a blend of poison and soul power, drowning Xiang Li in a beam of energy.

The poison corroded Xiang Li's flesh, reducing him to a puddle of sludge in seconds.

Wang Lin looked at the bear cub, pondering how to handle it. As the clouds cleared, letting the sun shine through, he noticed several objects glinting nearby. Upon inspection, he found a claw-shaped metallic object and two belts from the spirit master's corpse.

Before he could investigate further, he sensed multiple presences approaching him at lightning speed, detected through his newly heightened senses.

Chapter-12 Star Dou Core Lake
Wang Lin detected the presence of many different beings approaching in his direction with his newly improved spiritual sense. He would have no problem handling many opponents simultaneously with 200k years of cultivation if it were another time.

But going through the lightning tribulation twice in a row without a break had left him with little reserves of soul power, and there was no quick way to regain it after consuming all his holdings of spirit items.

So he made a quick decision. He grabbed the Dark Gold Bear cub by its scruff with his mouth, stored the objects he obtained from the remains of the spirit masters in the system, and flew in a direction with no presence blocking his way, which happened to lead toward the core of the Star Dou Forest.

Moments after his departure, groups of spirit masters arrived near the Poison Valley and witnessed the aftermath of two lightning tribulations that had wrecked the place. The group of spirit masters, mostly clad in white robes belonging to Spirit Hall, along with others from the Blue Lightning Tribe, arrived near the valley expecting a treasure that had announced its birth with lightning. However, all they found were the charred remains of the Elephant Academy's spirit masters. With no treasure visible, they started fighting among themselves.

Wang Lin flew over the forests of Star Dou toward the center, gazing upon the various spirit beasts and spirit plants from above as he contemplated the interactions he had with spirit masters in the months he had lived in this new body. Every interaction ultimately resulted in injuries, and his kindness and humanity were always reciprocated with violence.

He looked at the Dark Gold Bear cub in his mouth.
"The mother bear would still be alive if I hadn't shown kindness that day when I scared away the spirit masters hunting her. I wouldn't have had to leave the place that had been my home for the past few months. The kid I spared brought others to kill me. What warrants such animosity that humans would kill beasts like me with such zeal?" Wang Lin muttered to himself.

Lost in thought, Wang Lin continued to fly, his aura—emanating from 200k years of cultivation—keeping all the beasts at bay. He covered a great distance, approaching the area with the densest soul power in all of Star Dou Forest.

Soul power condensed as fog lingered in the air, and with each breath, his hungry cells rejoiced. Without a second thought, bolstered by confidence from his newfound power, Wang Lin dove into the forest hidden within a fog of soul power.

After landing, he witnessed a sight that defied description. Green and cyan spirit plants covered all the terrain his eyes could see, and at the center of the mountains was a lake with pristine blue waters.

Finding a comfortable spot, Wang Lin placed the Dark Gold Terror Bear cub on the Blue Silver Grass and laid down to rest, attempting to absorb the soul power he had expended during his flight. He soaked in the rich life energy and soul power around him and eventually slipped into a slumber. Time passed as the sun set, giving way to the moon.

Wang Lin's peaceful rest was interrupted by the arrival of a spirit beast. He sensed its presence easily; several hundred meters away stood the Great Beast of Star Dou Forest—the Titan Giant Ape—observing him from a distance. Its massive body had alerted him long before it could get closer.

They faced each other, each expecting an attack. Seconds passed, but unexpectedly, the Titan Giant Ape backed off and disappeared into the forest. Wang Lin was perplexed. What could make the Titan Giant Ape retreat? After much thought, he could attribute it only to his cultivation.

Relaxing but remaining vigilant for any signs of the Titan Giant Ape or other spirit beasts, Wang Lin continued to absorb soul power with every breath. The energy permeated his skin and gathered in the poison soul core in his head.

The poison soul core thrummed with energy, rotating at incredible speeds and attracting the surrounding soul power. With his energy restored, Wang Lin shifted his attention to the contents he had obtained from the corpses of the spirit masters in his system.
ON HOOK PANEL

**Name**: Wang Lin

**Attribute**: Poison, Dark

**Age**: 203,564 years

**Grids Available**: 9 (5 empty)

**Items**: Tribulation Lightning (100k), Dark Gold Bear External Claw Soul Bone (20k), Storage Spirit Tool, Storage Spirit Tool

His cultivation had skyrocketed from 99k to 200k years, but all was not rainbows and sunshine. The spirit beasts and plants he had collected over the months were consumed in one go, leaving most of the slots in his system empty.

From the titles on the panel, it was evident that the shiny, bone-like object was a soul bone, likely belonging to the mother Dark Gold Terror Bear. Although he theorized it might belong to the mother bear, he didn't fully understand what a soul bone was. The other two items appeared to be storage spirit tools, distinguishable by their design.

He took out the three objects from the system space and scrutinized them closely. The claw-shaped soul bone had a dark gold metallic sheen, and the two belts featured white, glowing gemstones.

Wang Lin observed them carefully, trying to identify the uniqueness that had allowed them to survive the thunder tribulation. While fiddling with one storage tool, items suddenly began pouring out of it.

Rations of food, a mysterious liquid in a glass container, and a parchment scroll spilled onto the ground. The commotion woke the Dark Gold Bear cub, which had been asleep.

The cub woke and, as always, began searching for its mother. Finding no one, it made sounds calling out for her. The cries continued unanswered. Wang Lin, unsure of what to do, placed the rations in front of the cub and fed it with his giant draconic claws.

The cub devoured all the rations, but its cries for its mother didn't stop.

Wang Lin held the glass jar with his draconic claws, which possessed impressive dexterity despite their enormous size. He uncorked the jar and sniffed its contents.

His months of experience hunting poison spirit beasts, along with his poison attribute, allowed him to detect any toxins in the jar's contents quickly. Unlike the fishy smell of poison, the liquid emitted the aroma of spicy herbs. Hoping to calm the cub, Wang Lin fed it the liquid.

Unknowingly, the spicy spirit alcohol helped soothe the cub, which eventually fell asleep. Wang Lin looked at the Dark Gold Terror Bear cub, pondering how to deal with it.

Meanwhile, a pair of eyes watched him from deep within the waters of the lake.

Chapter-13 Silver Dragon King
Wang Lin looked at the sleeping Dark Gold Terror Bear cub and sighed in relief. He walked on with his four legs toward the lake and drank the waters to quench his thirst. As he was drinking, he sensed the presence of something emitting a powerful aura in the waters, calling to him.

He looked around to see if there was any sign of the Titan Giant Ape. With no sign of it and the Dark Gold Terror Bear cub still sleeping, he dived into the waters. Being a dragon, he could navigate the waters just as easily as he could fly.

He swam as the feeling in his body intensified, the blood in his veins roaring with stimulation from the unknown source. The sensation grew stronger and stronger as he got closer.

After swimming for a while, he could see a multicolored silver light shining in the depths of the lake. Before he could swim any further, something hit him from the side, dragging him out of the water and throwing him into the forest.

The force with which he exited the waters caused the lake's surface to rise into the air and form a small rainbow. Wang Lin looked at the culprit who had attacked him.

With a long body like a snake, azure scales, and a head resembling a deer's, complete with curved horns, the assailant was the Azure Python Bull—the companion of the Titan Giant Ape.

Wang Lin shook off all the debris that had gotten on his scales and looked at the Azure Python Bull. Its attack had considerable force, but surprisingly, even though the collision was head-on, it didn't hurt that much.

"Why did you attack me?" Wang Lin asked again as he flew toward the Azure Python Bull in the lake's waters.

"The lake is forbidden to enter," said the Azure Python Bull. But all Wang Lin heard were different sounds ringing in his head, so he continued.

Seeing Wang Lin ignore the warning and still enter the lake, the Azure Python Bull attacked him again.

Wang Lin dodged the incoming Azure Python Bull, moved behind it, and attacked with a Darkness-attributed ball of energy. Due to the proximity, the Azure Python Bull suffered the full brunt of the attack.

Just as it absorbed his attack, Wang Lin continued his momentum, grabbing its body and pulling it into the water. He entered the deep areas of the lake. The Azure Python Bull didn't dally; it tried to escape, but all its attempts were to no avail. Wang Lin prepared as he released the poison from his soul core into his mouth. Before he could inject the Azure Python Bull, something with incredible weight hit him from above the water, making him sink and lose his grip on the Azure Python Bull.

He shook his head to clear the disorientation caused by the collision. After regaining focus, he looked at the culprit—it was none other than the Titan Giant Ape, standing beside the Azure Python Bull, glaring at him with anger.

Wang Lin looked at both of them. Even though he didn't want to fight them simultaneously, with each passing moment, his body longed for whatever was in the depths of the waters.

He had no choice but to fight because he wanted to reach the core of the lake. He flew out of the water and hovered above the pair of beasts—the Azure Python Bull and the Titan Giant Ape—attacking them with Darkness Missiles from the air.

His attacks caused the water to blow into the air. He alternated between Darkness and Poison attacks. With each strike, he grew more proficient at targeting both beasts. Realizing the reach of his attacks, the two beasts slipped into the depths of the water. Wang Lin could have easily seen their bodies in these pristine waters if it had been daytime, but being nighttime, they escaped from his grasp.

Wang Lin didn't stop his attacks, though. He struck the surface of the water indiscriminately, drowning the lake with his Darkness and Poison-attributed attacks.

In the lake, both the Azure Python Bull and the Titan Giant Ape looked at each other in worry.

"Daming, if that dragon continues like this, the whole lake will be destroyed. Di Tian tasked us to protect the lake at any cost," said Er Ming, the Titan Giant Ape.

"I would have left the dragon alone if it was just swimming in the lake, but Di Tian repeatedly warned me that nothing could approach the core of the lake. We can't do anything while it keeps flying in the air. We need to bring it down so we can attack it," said Daming.

"I know what to do to bring the dragon down," said Er Ming.

Wang Lin looked at the damage he had caused. The pristine, clear waters now had a green hue due to his poison. As he continued his attacks, he felt his body grow heavier, as if gravity were pulling him down.

He fell into the waters and sank. The sudden attack surprised him. As he swam upward, trying to escape the pull of gravity, he was again taken aback when Daming, the Azure Python Bull, wrapped around him, binding his wings.

Er Ming held his head, locking his jaw to prevent him from releasing any Poison or Darkness attacks. The three wrestled—Wang Lin trying to escape, the other two trying to hold him. For a moment, Wang Lin seemed to have the upper hand. Seeing him about to escape, Er Ming tried to sink his jaw into Wang Lin's head. In a split second, Wang Lin realized that before he could escape, he would be dead. So, he did something unexpected.

He released the Tribulation Light stored in his system, which promptly drowned all three of them without discrimination. The attack loosened the grip both Er Ming and Daming had on him.

After escaping their stranglehold, he looked at them and unleashed his most potent attack—a coalescence of Darkness energy emerged from his mouth and moved toward Er Ming and Daming.

Before the attack could reach them, it dissipated into nothingness, surprising all three. Before they could make sense of what had happened, they heard someone speaking in a female voice.

"You are noisy. You woke me from my slumber," said Gu Yuena.

The three looked toward the source of the voice. There, Wang Lin saw a silver dragon, dwarfing him in size, staring at the three of them.

Chapter-14 New Acquaintance
Wang Lin realized the source calling him was the Silver Dragon in front of him, as the intensity of his blood stimulation reached its peak.
He felt an unknown reverence toward the dragon before him. It exuded a suppressive force that seemed to decrease his combat power.

"What are you? Why do I feel close to you, even though we've never met?" Wang Lin asked Gu Yuena.

Once again, what the Azure Python Bull and Titan Giant Ape heard were unintelligible noises. However, it was different for Gu Yuena. Being a first-level god, her divine sense had reached the Origin Realm, enabling her to sense the intent of the words without understanding them.

"I should be the one to ask, little one. Were you the source of the tribulation lightning?" asked Gu Yuena.

"My lord, this dragon entered the lake, even though I warned it many times," said Daming, realizing the entity he protected at the core of the lake was the Silver Dragon. Though meeting it for the first time, he knew from its aura that it was stronger than Ditian.

Wang Lin heard this conversation and was surprised he could understand Gu Yuena, who was speaking with her divine sense.

"I can understand you, but not them," said Wang Lin, pointing at Er Ming and Daming.

"It's okay, little one. It seems you haven't learned the Spirit Text. But what is the language you're speaking now?" asked Gu Yuena.

"Spirit Text—is that what you call the language you're speaking? As for mine, it's called English," said Wang Lin.

"I've never heard of such a language. Where did you learn it?" asked Gu Yuena.

"I don't know; it appeared in my mind one day," lied Wang Lin, not wanting to reveal his past life.

"Were you the one who released the tribulation lightning?" asked Gu Yuena, concluding that Wang Lin must have learned the language from his dragon bloodline inheritance.

"It was me who released the lightning. I didn't want to, but these guys tried to attack me," said Wang Lin, ensuring he didn't cause a misunderstanding because he enjoyed talking to Gu Yuena after nearly a year without interaction.

"Can you release tribulation lightning again?" asked Gu Yuena.

"I can release the lightning, but why do you ask?" replied Wang Lin, trying to pry into her reasons.

"If you can release the lightning, little one, I'll teach you the Spirit Text so you can learn it instantly," said Gu Yuena.

"If you're not lying, I don't see a problem letting out a little lightning. But you have to keep your promise," replied Wang Lin as he released the tribulation lightning from his system, causing it to appear out of thin air.

Gu Yuena, using her elemental control, directed the tribulation lightning toward herself, absorbing it into her body with a painful expression on her draconic face. After a while, the pain subsided, replaced by relief.

"This is the lightning you were talking about, right? Are you satisfied? When will you teach me the Spirit Text?" asked Wang Lin.

"You didn't lie, little one. Now it's time to fulfill my word," said Gu Yuena, transforming into her ethereal human form with silver hair. She tapped Wang Lin's forehead, transferring the information about the language with her divine sense.

Wang Lin was surprised by her transformation. Before he could ask how she did it, his mind was overwhelmed with information, and he passed out.

Gu Yuena looked at Wang Lin's unconscious body, lifted it with her elemental control of water, and brought it to the shore along with Er Ming and Daming.

"Where is Ditian?" Gu Yuena questioned Er Ming and Daming.

"My lord, the Beast Lord and the others captured a million-year-old spirit beast," said Daming.

"A million-year-old spirit beast, you say? If it was that old, how did they capture it?" asked Gu Yuena.

"My lord, even though it is a million-year-old spirit beast, it is weaker than me. The old turtle first found it. He said it was an ice worm from the Far North," said Er Ming.

While they were talking, multiple humans appeared before them. One of the men, with long dark hair, kneeled before Gu Yuena.

"My lord, I apologize for disturbing your slumber. I should have guarded the area better," said Ditian as he looked at the sleeping Wang Lin and the surroundings of the lake to infer what had happened.

"My lord," Ditian and a group of people kneeled before Gu Yuena, shouting in unison.

"It isn't your fault, Ditian. This little dragon caused a commotion and woke me from my sleep," said Gu Yuena.

"My lord, should I kill the dragon for disturbing your peace?" asked Ditian, standing up.

"Not so hasty, Ditian. This little dragon is special. It has a mysterious language inheritance that I don't remember. You know, after the Dragon God split into two, I gained most of his memories, but I can't pinpoint the origin of this language in them.

"But if it was just that, it wouldn't make him special. He has an affinity for tribulation lightning. You know how severe my injuries are. If I can absorb tribulation lightning in large amounts along with the Life Gold in the lake, I can reduce the time it takes to heal," replied Gu Yuena.

"What should I do with the dragon, my lord?" asked Ditian.

"Leave it alone. Just make sure it doesn't die before I can heal my injuries."

"Ditian, what is this tale about the million-year-old spirit beast I've been hearing?" asked Gu Yuena.

"My lord, the Golden Tortoise found an ice worm that was a million years old. It seems to have absorbed a natural treasure. We were sharing its essence since it would be wasted on it."

"My lord, should I bring it over? It might help alleviate your injuries," said Ditian.

"It wouldn't make much of a difference if I ate it. Just don't go overboard. Even though it's weak, it's still a spirit beast," said Gu Yuena.

"I'll keep in mind to release it after we've absorbed enough essence," said Ditian.

Chapter-15 Bi Ji, Emerald Swan
Wang Lin woke up with an ache in his head. The first thing he saw after waking was a lady with emerald green hair looking at him closely with curiosity. The lady was holding the Terror Bear cub, cuddling it in her arms.

"You are awake. Here I was thinking you wouldn't wake up for another day," said Bi Ji, the Emerald Swan spirit beast with 570,000 years of cultivation.

"I don't think that's the problem here. What is a human doing in the most dangerous area of the forest? Wait, I can understand you speak," said Wang Lin in surprise, realizing he could comprehend Bi Ji's language—a fact that could only be possible if the big silver dragon wasn't lying about his ability to learn languages instantly.

"You are a silly dragon. No human would ever dare to come here; they'd only venture here if they had a death wish. If you misunderstood after seeing me in this form, you should know that a spirit beast can transform into a human after crossing 100,000 years of cultivation," said Bi Ji.

"So, you are a spirit beast too. Can I learn how to transform into a human form? Wait, where is the big silver dragon I saw before?" asked Wang Lin.

"Shush! Don't ever call the Lord a big silver dragon again, especially in front of Di Tian. You'd be in a lot of trouble if he heard those words," said Bi Ji.

"Why shouldn't I call her a big silver dragon? Who is this Di Tian?" asked Wang Lin.

"The Lady is the god of our spirit beasts, the Silver Dragon King Gu Yuena. Di Tian is the beast lord of all the beasts on the Douluo Continent—the Golden-Eyed Black Dragon," said Bi Ji.

"So, the big silver dragon is some kind of leader of spirit beasts, and Di Tian is her subordinate," said Wang Lin.

"You're doing it again! If Di Tian hears you being disrespectful, you'll be in a world of pain," said Bi Ji.

While they were talking, they heard a rumbling sound. A big, burly man approached them, each step causing the ground to shake.

"Is this the intruder that trespassed in the Core Lake? Sigh, Di Tian grows softer every year. If it were me, I'd have already spit out this little dragon's bones," said Xiong Li, the Dark Gold Terror Bear spirit beast with 460,000 years of cultivation, the second strongest of the Ten Great Savage Beasts after Di Tian.

"Lady, who is this fat man?" asked Wang Lin to Bi Ji.

"What did you say, little lizard?" said the Bear Lord in fury, walking towards Wang Lin.

"This is the Bear Lord, a Dark Gold Terror Bear. He is one of us," said Bi Ji to Wang Lin.

"Xiong Li, you know Di Tian wouldn't be pleased if he knew you attacked the dragon. Did you forget what the Lord said about protecting the dragon?" said Bi Ji.

"Do you think I'd be scared if Di Tian was upset? If anything, I'm looking forward to fighting him. I'll leave this lizard alone this time because you're pleading for him. Where did this bear cub come from?" said Xiong Li, asking Bi Ji as he looked at the sleeping Dark Gold Terror Bear cub of the same species as him.

"Oh, the bear cub? I brought it here," said Wang Lin.

"Where is the mother bear?" asked Xiong Li seriously.

"The mother bear? It should be dead. Wait, where are the things I dropped when I fed the bear cub?" said Wang Lin as he looked towards the shore where he had left the storage bag. He quickly sprinted over, collected the items, and sprinted back.

"Lady, do you know what this claw-like thing is? It seems to have dropped from the mother bear," said Wang Lin as he showed the external claw soul bone of the Dark Gold Terror Bear.

"You lizard! You dare to kill one of our own kind?" roared Xiong Li in fury as he dashed towards Wang Lin with his full momentum.

The Bear Lord collided with Wang Lin, throwing him into the mountain. As he flew through the air, Wang Lin reoriented himself, landed on the ground with his legs, and took off into the sky, releasing Darkness Missiles toward the Bear Lord.

The Darkness Missiles hit Xiong Li without causing much damage. Wang Lin hovered in the air, thinking he was safe, which proved to be a mistake as the Bear swung his claws. The attack tore open the space around Wang Lin, creating tears in the air.

Wang Lin was quick enough to escape most of the attack, but a small part of it grazed him, leaving a gash on his abdomen. Blood leaked from the wound as he fell to the ground.

The Bear Lord didn't stop. After the Sky-Splitting Claw, he roared, making Wang Lin's head ring with pain and causing him to drop from the air.

The Bear Lord caught the falling Wang Lin, pinned him to the ground, and raised his claws to strike. Before he could, a fist struck the Bear Lord straight in the face, sending him flying.

"Xiong Li, it seems you've forgotten who the beast lord of the Star Dou Forest is," said Di Tian as he walked toward the Bear Lord, who had already recovered and gotten back up.

Both Di Tian and Xiong Li began to fight, causing shockwaves in the air as they released their most potent attacks—Xiong Li with his Terror Claws and Sky-Splitting Claw, and Di Tian with his Dragon King Claw technique, bestowed by the Dragon.

While they were fighting, Bi Ji, holding the Terror Bear cub, came to Wang Lin and placed her hand on his wounds, releasing a halo of green light to heal him.

"I warned you to watch what you say. Look at what's happened now. It's prudent that you control your mouth," said Bi Ji.

"Who is the one fighting the Bear Lord?" asked Wang Lin, looking at both Xiong Li and Di Tian as they exchanged blows.

"It's the beast lord Di Tian, the one we were talking about before—the Golden-Eyed Black Dragon," said Bi Ji.

Chapter-16 Di Tian, The Golden Eyed Black Dragon
The fight between Di Tian and Xiong Li ended with Di Tian having the upper hand, leaving the Bear Lord with some injuries on his body.

"You better learn your lesson. Lord ordered that the dragon be protected. It is very important for Lord to heal her injuries so we can revolt against the God Realm. If you foil Lord's plan, there will be no mercy," said Di Tian.

"The dragon killed one of my own. You think I would just let him off?" said Xiong Li.

"Whatever the reason, you shouldn't harm the dragon," said Di Tian.

This conversation was overheard by both Wang Lin and Bi Ji, which confused Wang Lin about the whole "God Realm" thing. However, his attention shifted toward what the Bear Lord was saying.

"I didn't kill the mother bear, you fat man. It was the work of the humans—they were the ones. If it wasn't for me, the bear cub would already be dead. So, you should thank me rather than trying to kill me," said Wang Lin as he looked at both Xiong Li and Di Tian.

"You are lying! This lizard killed the mother bear. Look at the soul bone—that's all you need to see," said the Bear Lord.

"That claw-shaped thing? It dropped after I killed one of the humans who killed the mother bear. If you want an excuse to fight, let's fight. I don't need to lie," said Wang Lin.

"You heard him, Bear Lord. This matter ends today. I don't want to see you attack him again," said Di Tian.

"You Poison Dragon, you polluted the lakes' waters with your filthy poison. What spirit beast were you before you became a dragon?" said Wang Lin.

"I don't know what you'd call it, but I was a snake spirit beast. But I'm not just a Poison Dragon—I also have a Darkness attribute," said Wang Lin.

"Haha, you silly lizard! You boast about your puny strength in front of a Black Dragon? You would shame all dragons with your control of darkness. Your attacks didn't even leave a scratch," laughed the Bear Lord. Alongside him, both Di Tian and Bi Ji had looks of agreement on their faces.

"I was too distracted by your arrival that I forgot to ask—what is your name?" asked Bi Ji.

"My name is Wang Lin," replied Wang Lin in a disgruntled tone, upset with the mockery.

"Wang Lin, you heard me. You are not to leave the core of the Star Dou until you help heal Lord's injuries," ordered Di Tian.

"How can I heal your Lord when I'm a Poison Dragon weaker than her? Shouldn't you be asking the lady beside me? She seems more adept at healing.
I don't remember promising not to leave the core of the forest," said Wang Lin.

"Lord mentioned that you could summon tribulation lightning. If any of that is true, that's all you need to help heal her."

"Even if you don't like it, you will not leave the core of Star Dou until Lord is healed," said Di Tian, releasing his draconic pressure with the force of 810,000 years of cultivation.

"I don't think so," said Wang Lin, even while facing the full brunt of the pressure that left his limbs shaking.

"Di Tian, go easy on him. He's just confused from waking up. He just needs some time to remember," said Bi Ji.

"I hope that's the case, or he won't need to worry about the Bear Lord killing him—I will do it myself," said Di Tian as he walked away.

The Bear Lord grinned, while Bi Ji signaled him not to speak further.

"Bring the dragon after you show him his new home," said Di Tian without looking back.

"Lady, hand me the bear cub," Wang Lin requested. He took the cub in his mouth, walked toward the Bear Lord, and placed it in his arms.

"After fighting you, I realized you love your race to death. Take this bear cub and care for it from now on," said Wang Lin as he handed over the sleeping cub, which was slobbering.

"Lady, let's go and see my new home. Also, I forgot to ask your name," said Wang Lin while walking away with the Emerald Swan.

"My name is Bi Ji. I'm an Emerald Swan spirit beast," said Bi Ji, giggling as she looked at the Bear Lord holding the cub with a silly expression.

They walked for a while and reached a valley perfect for Wang Lin to live in. There, he promptly stored the storage spirit tool and external soul bone, not wanting Bi Ji to see him storing them in the system.

"Are you done? Let's go and meet Di Tian," said Bi Ji.

"Okay, let's go. Bi Ji, I want to ask something. Why were there so few beasts when I arrived yesterday? Where were you?" asked Wang Lin.

"Well, Di Tian tasked Er Ming and Da Ming with ensuring nothing disturbed Lord Gu Yuena.

"I usually tend to injured beasts. The other beasts, like the Bear Lord, are in another part of the lake, where they imprisoned a poor Ice Worm to absorb its essence. I've asked Di Tian many times to leave it alone, but he always dismissed my requests, saying the Ice Worm wouldn't survive its tribulation after reaching a million years old," said Bi Ji.

"A million-year-old beast? How strong is it?" asked Wang Lin.

"Well, it's not strong enough to escape from all the beasts in the core of Star Dou, Even though its million years old it doesn't have a combat power of a hundred thousand year old beast" said Bi Ji.

"Bi Ji, are there any other beasts stronger than Di Tian here?" asked Wang Lin.

"Wang Lin, Di Tian is the strongest after Lord Gu Yuena. Lord isn't just a strong beast—she's a god of spirit beasts," said Bi Ji.

"A god? You're fooling me, right? How does a spirit beast become a god?" asked Wang Lin.

Chapter-17 Sprit Beat Human Transformation
"When a spirit beast successfully crosses its tribulation after reaching a million years, it can become a divine beast, which is equivalent to a god," said Bi Ji.

"But Lord Gu Yuena isn't an ordinary divine beast; she is a first-class god, just below a God King," said Bi Ji.

"What is a God King?" asked Wang Lin.

"I don't know either. I just heard Di Tian mention it once," replied Bi Ji.

"So how strong are you, Bi Ji?" asked Wang Lin.

"Do you know what my cultivation is? It's 570,000 years, but I can say with confidence that I'm weaker than you," said Bi Ji.

"How could that be possible when I just have 200,000 years of cultivation?" asked Wang Lin in surprise.

"I'm an Emerald Swan. Even though I have 500k years of cultivation, my main abilities are healing, so I'm not as strong as you think," replied Bi Ji.

They reached their destination while Wang Lin grilled her with questions about the world. In front of them, Di Tian stood in a clearing of the forest.

"Lord asked me to protect you until she is healed. The Star Dou Forest is merciless; any beast can kill you if you relax your vigilance. With your cultivation, I'd be surprised to find many that could cause harm to you. But they are not the only danger. Our sworn enemies from birth—spirit masters—are where most of the danger comes from," said Di Tian.

"You mean humans?" asked Wang Lin.

"Yes, but not all human spirit masters who possess martial spirits have soul power .Only when there is soul power can spirit master cultivate.

"A spirit masters martial spirit is awakend at age of six, if they soul power they cultivate until they reach a bottleneck, after which they must hunt a spirit beast to cross a bottleneck" said Di Tian.

"The spirit ring that drops after our death helps them cross their bottleneck and gives them abilities. So you must understand that the ring you can obtain after killing is the most attractive thing to the strongest spirit masters," said Di Tian.

"If you want to protect yourself, one of the things you must do is learn human transformation," said Di Tian as he taught Wang Lin how to transform. The teachings continued before Di Tian and Bi Ji left him alone to practice.

Wang Lin tried to transform using the method Di Tian taught him. Maybe being a human in his past life helped, but after a couple of tries, he was able to transform into human form.

He got accustomed to his human form, but there was one problem: he was naked. He didn't want to walk naked in the forest, so he transformed back into his dragon form, went towards his new abode, and entered his cave.

He recalled all the things he had heard in the past couple of hours as he lay on the cold stone. The storage tool and the external claw soul bone caught his attention.

He stored the soul bone in the system's space while scrutinizing the storage tools. In one of the storage tools, there was a parchment scroll that seemed to have scribbled writings on it. He opened the other storage spirit tool that belonged to the corpse poison serpent spirit master, which had different assortments of glass bottles filled with poison, and another scroll made of beast hide with writings on it.

He stored the bottles of poison into the storage tool and stashed them away in the system, then proceeded to examine what was written on the scrolls. When the Silver Dragon King transferred him the knowledge of the language, it also contained how to read it.

Wang Lin read one of the scrolls, which had a heading titled _Blood Enriching Breathing Technique_, detailing a type of rhythmic breathing that increased the potency of the blood essence. After finishing reading it, he picked up the other scroll and continued reading. This new scroll contained a method of absorbing poisons into the body to mutate the martial spirit, producing more potent poison.

He understood that both techniques were created for human practice. The first technique seemed to follow human patterns of breathing, which could be modified to work for him. The other technique wouldn't work for him because he didn't have a martial spirit.

He finished reading both and was lost in thought about whether there were any techniques for spirit beasts. If you had asked Wang Lin, he would have said a couple of days ago that he didn't need any techniques to increase his strength because he could just grow in strength by eating. But after battling the spirit master, Azure Python Bull, Titan Giant Ape, and Bear Lord, he realized his inadequacies.

He wanted to find every way possible to increase his strength because, every time he grew stronger, more powerful enemies confronted him. He also had empty spots in the system that were wasting progress that he could have filled, something was occupying his time. While he was lost in thought, he heard a couple of footsteps approaching.

Wang Lin quickly stored the scrolls in the system, waiting for whoever was coming. He saw Bi Ji coming into the cave in the valley.

"Wang Lin, did you quit learning human transformation without trying a couple of times?" said Bi Ji.

"You'd be surprised if I told you the truth. I learned human transformation, but I had to turn back because I didn't have any clothes to put on," said Wang Lin.

"Wang Lin, it's better to admit it than to make up lies that are unbelievable," said Bi Ji.

"Well, I guess I can't prove that I learned human transformation without showing you. Watch," said Wang Lin, as he transformed into his human form, standing more than six feet tall, with long dark hair with a tint of green and dark green draconic eyes, with ample musculature all over his body. But there was one problem: he was naked.

Bi Ji looked at him in surprise, one reason being that he had learned the human transformation and the other being his naked form. She looked flustered as she tried to cover her face with her hands while peeking through the gaps in her fingers.

"I believe you. Just transform back into your dragon form. I'll get some clothes that fit you," hurried Bi Ji, gesturing for Wang Lin to transform back with reluctance.

"Bi Ji, why did you come back again?" asked Wang Lin as he transformed back.

"Lord Gu Yuena summoned you," replied Bi Ji as she tried to forget what she had just witnessed.

Chapter 18 Life Gold
Wang Lin and Bi Ji both walked out of the cave and walked toward the core lake. It was awkward between them. Bi Ji was still thinking about the incident that happened in the cave, while Wang Lin was distracted by the information appearing in his mind.

With each passing second, experiences, knowledge, and memories of both the Blood Enriching Breathing Technique and the Poison Absorption Method appeared in his mind.

He felt like he had practiced these techniques for a couple of years, turning from a complete newbie to a beginner. Just as these memories belonging to the techniques emerged in his mind, his blood essence surged in quantity, though it was minuscule and went unnoticed by Wang Lin. He was brought out of his musings by Bi Ji.

"Wang Lin, please be respectful in front of Lord Gu Yuena," said Bi Ji.

"I will keep it in mind," said Wang Lin half-heartedly.

They reached the lake, where a silver-haired lady stood with her back toward them.

"Here is the Poison Dragon, my Lord. I will take my leave," said Bi Ji as she turned back and left the two alone.

"Wang Lin, is it? You can understand me speak, right?" said Gu Yuena as she turned back. Wang Lin glanced at her fixatedly for a couple of seconds before composing himself.

"You are?" asked Wang Lin in doubt.

"I didn't take you for one to forget something so quickly. Don't you remember me teaching you Spirit Text a couple of hours ago?" said Gu Yuena.

"You are that silver dragon who asked me to put on a lightning show. Now that I think about it, the voice does sound the same," said Wang Lin.

"You are a weird dragon, Wang Lin. Any beast, whether a dragon or not, standing before me would be crumbling to their knees, but here you are completely fine," said Gu Yuena.

"Why would that be the case? Because you're a god?" asked Wang Lin.

"So you know that I'm a god. Well, for whatever reason, my elemental dragon bloodline doesn't seem to affect you that much."

"But I didn't call you here to talk about this. Can you still release the lightning? If you can, I want you to stay by my side until I've absorbed enough," said Gu Yuena.

"Even if I could release it, what would I get by helping you?" said Wang Lin, which seemed to upset Gu Yuena as she released her bloodline pressure at full force. Wang Lin still stood tall.

"What do you want? You can ask for any natural treasures, or you can have a drop of my blood essence, which would be very helpful for you," said Gu Yuena.

"Well, there's a little problem with natural treasures—I don't know what I want. As for the blood essence, I'll skip that," said Wang Lin.

"If you don't know what you need, talk with Bi Ji. She's knowledgeable about most herbs. For now, I'll give you this piece of Life Gold upfront. You can have a natural treasure after I'm healed," said Gu Yuena as she held her hand toward the lake, causing a green object to emerge from the water and float in front of her.

"What is this?" asked Wang Lin as he felt the surging force within the object that rejuvenated his body just from being in its proximity.

"It's Life Gold. A piece of this size would take thousands of years to condense. The life energy released from it can heal wounds and stimulate your bloodline. What do you think?" asked Gu Yuena.

"If what you said holds any truth, I'm willing to help you," replied Wang Lin.

"There's something I want to ask. How did you teach me Spirit Text in an instant?" asked Wang Lin.

"When your spiritual power breaks through the Divine Origin Realm, it will turn into Divine Sense. You can use Divine Sense to transfer information," said Gu Yuena.

"Then is my spiritual power enough to turn into Divine Sense?" asked Wang Lin.

"Can you sense the different elements of soul power in the air?" asked Gu Yuena.

"Then you are nowhere near the Divine Origin Realm. Usually, Divine Sense is born when a human crosses Level 100, and for spirit beasts, after it turns into a divine beast."

"You're very ignorant for a 200,000-year-old spirit beast. I wonder how you've survived until now," said Gu Yuena.

"You can leave now. I will summon you when needed," said Gu Yuena as she turned back into her dragon form and disappeared into thin air.

"Damn, she can also teleport," Wang Lin thought to himself.

Wang Lin observed the Life Gold, the size of a fingernail, and breathed in the rich life energy emanating from it. He wanted to find out if the system could help increase its size. From Gu Yuena's words, it takes thousands of years to condense a small piece of Life Gold.

So he stored the Life Gold in one of the empty slots in the system, turned back, and marched to his cave. The inflow of memories belonging to the techniques didn't stop even while he was talking to Gu Yuena. Even now, as he walked, it was difficult to keep his focus on the conversation when pieces of information kept appearing in his mind. But he somehow managed to finish the conversation before Gu Yuena started suspecting him.

While distracted by the information appearing in his mind, he met an acquaintance—the Titan Giant Ape patrolling the forest around the core lake.

"Ape, I want to ask you something. Do you remember attacking a group of spirit masters a couple of months ago outside Star Dou? What did you do? Did you eat them?" said Wang Lin.

Wang Lin calling him "Ape" irritated Er Ming, but he still replied, curious about the reason behind Wang Lin's question about Xiao Wu's companions.

"My name is Er Ming. About the spirit masters, why do you ask? Were you watching them from the skies as your prey?" said Er Ming.

"Not really. I just have some accounts to settle with them. Don't tell me they're already dead," asked Wang Lin.

"Do you want to kill them?" asked Er Ming.

"Something along those lines. Tell me, are they alive?" replied Wang Lin.

"You can do whatever you want with the spirit masters, but you cannot harm Xiao Wu," said Er Ming.

Chapter 19 Blood Essense Core
"So they're alive. But who is this Xiao Wu, and why are you asking me to leave her alone?" Wang Lin asked.

"You don't know her? So you weren't there to kill Xiao Wu?" Er Ming questioned in return.

"Is Xiao Wu one of the Spirit Masters? I wasn't there for the Spirit Masters. I was only there for the rabbit," Wang Lin replied.

"So you do know her. Xiao Wu _is_ the rabbit. She's a 100,000-year-old Soft-Boned Rabbit that transformed into a human," said Er Ming.

"There was a 100,000-year spirit beast among the Spirit Masters," Wang Lin thought to himself. "But this ape thinks I'm there for the 100,000-year spirit beast. I only ended up there because of the Soft-Boned Rabbit."

"If she's a spirit beast, what's she doing with Spirit Masters?" Wang Lin asked.

Er Ming, saddened by the thought of Xiao Wu's circumstances, began to recount her story.

"Xiao Wu's mother was a 100,000-year-old spirit beast. She protected me and Da Ming until we were strong enough to defend ourselves. She treated us like her children.

We all lived peacefully in Star Dou until one day, a group of Title Douluo came hunting for spirit rings. A Spirit Master with two martial spirits led them. Unfortunately, they were heading straight for Xiao Wu. Before they could reach her, Xiao Wu's mother intercepted them. She knew she couldn't protect Xiao Wu while fighting multiple Title Douluo, so she lured them away, sacrificing herself.

Da Ming and I pursued the Title Douluo after Xiao Wu informed us. We fought them, but there was no trace of Xiao Wu's mother. We assumed she was dead," Er Ming said, his voice heavy with sadness.

"But what does Xiao Wu's mother's death have to do with her living among Spirit Masters? Isn't she at greater risk of being caught there than in Star Dou?" Wang Lin asked.

"Xiao Wu couldn't forget her mother and vowed to avenge her. However, she wasn't strong enough to kill a Title Douluo. In our absence, she began recultivation by transforming into a human. Once the process started, we couldn't stop it. You know that when a beast begins recultivation, they must live among humans for their cultivation to progress smoothly," replied Er Ming.

"Are Xiao Wu's transformation and Di Tian's transformation into human forms not the same?" Wang Lin asked doubtfully.

"They're very different. When Di Tian transforms, he can only exert a fraction of his dragon form's strength in his human form. His transformation is temporary. But for Xiao Wu, her transformation is permanent. She must cultivate from the beginning like a Spirit Master. Spirit Masters cannot tell she's a transformed beast; she's indistinguishable from a human. However, Title Douluo can detect her with their spiritual power. That's why Da Ming and I were so worried about her entering the Spirit Master world.

When we sensed her presence that day, I went to bring her back," said Er Ming.

"So that's why you were at the outskirts of Star Dou, even though you had no reason to be there. But you still haven't told me clearly: are the Spirit Masters with Xiao Wu still alive?" Wang Lin asked.

"They are still alive, but I must warn you—they're Xiao Wu's companions. I cannot allow you to harm them. If anything happens to them, Xiao Wu would be heartbroken," said Er Ming.

"I have no enmity with all the Spirit Masters with Xiao Wu except for one. I have a personal debt to settle with him. And I don't think I ever needed your permission to kill him," replied Wang Lin, preparing for battle.

Both Wang Lin and the Titan Giant Ape stood in a standoff before Wang Lin relaxed his offensive stance.

"You're lucky today because I don't want to fight. But don't think that just because you asked me not to harm them, it will stop me from taking my revenge," said Wang Lin as he walked away, leaving the Titan Giant Ape both relieved and confused.

If it were any other time, Wang Lin would have fought the Titan Giant Ape. But now, he was in trouble. The blood in his body was agitated, flowing turbulently through his veins.

Wang Lin reached his cave in the valley and lay prone on the ground, trying to control the ever-increasing blood energy. After integrating the blood-enriching breathing technique into his system, memories and experiences surfaced in his mind. These memories, while helpful, distracted him during conversations. Over time, new changes began to take place. The breathing technique, originally suited for Spirit Masters, had somehow become compatible with dragon spirit beasts.

As more of this modified technique's knowledge appeared in his mind, his blood energy surged. In just an hour, his blood energy increased by an amount that would have taken 50 years of practice. Yet the surge didn't stop. This was Wang Lin's predicament: controlling the abrupt increase in blood energy.

Wang Lin, being both human and a 200,000-year spirit beast, had immense spiritual power. Using his inner sense, he examined the energy pathways in his body. These pathways transported blood and soul power to every cell.

He guided the overflowing blood energy through these pathways. For a time, it flowed under his control before continuing autonomously. However, new blood energy kept appearing.

Running out of ideas, Wang Lin wanted to retrieve the technique manual from his system space, suspecting it was the cause of his changes.

Before he could, he noticed a small, dense pool of blood energy forming near his heart. It began to attract blood energy from his body, growing slowly. This phenomenon reminded him of when he formed his Poison Soul Core. A pseudo soul core of dense soul power had appeared in his head then, and now, the dense blood energy near his heart resembled a pseudo soul core.

Wang Lin made a bold move, directing new blood energy into this dense pool. It grew to the size of a marble, forming a pseudo blood essence core. It spun rapidly, drawing in more blood energy.

The previously overflowing blood energy now flowed toward the pseudo core. After some time, the Blood Essence Core stabilized, resolving Wang Lin's predicament.

Quite enjoying this story so far! Can't wait to see what happens when they realize his source of tribulation lightning is limited.

Chapter 20 Dragon Claw Technique
The increasing blood essence found an outlet as it swarmed towards the newly created blood essence core, contributing to its growth. The blood essence core, initially the size of a marble, expanded to match the size of his Poison Soul Core.

This increase in size didn't stop as more and more blood essence entered his core, surpassing the limits it could handle. It was absorbing the blood essence at a slower rate, which caused the excess blood essence to accumulate in his body.

The astonishing amount of blood essence caused his veins to rupture; blood seeped out of his scales, turning him into a blood-soaked dragon. Wang Lin couldn't contain the overwhelming blood essence within his body; he felt an impulse to release it all.

He directed the overflowing blood essence to his throat and let out a roar into the sky, expelling the excess. The roar created a tidal wave of wind carrying its sound to the outskirts of the Star Dou. At the settlements near the entrances of Star Dou, his roars could be heard, scaring the inhabitants out of their senses.

The accumulated blood essence was now gone, but more of it was coming. Wang Lin knew from his current condition that he couldn't handle any more blood essence, so he did the only thing he could: he took out the manual for the Blood-Enriching Breathing Technique from the system space.

The blood essence stopped appearing after he removed the manual from the system. Wang Lin's condition was in a sorry state; the musculature in his throat was shredded, rendering his vocal cords useless.

The commotion Wang Lin caused attracted Bi Ji, Di Tian, and other great beasts of Star Dou, including the Silver Dragon King, who now stood before him, looking at him with a puzzled expression.

Wang Lin couldn't speak due to his damaged vocal cords, but it wasn't a problem for Gu Yuena to communicate with him.

"Do you want to tell me what happened, Wang Lin?" asked Gu Yuena, looking at his sorry state, covered in blood.

"I don't know either. I felt my blood becoming restless. Before I could control it, it started damaging my body, so I had to let it out," replied Wang Lin in half-truths.

Gu Yuena scanned his body with her divine sense. She noticed his wounds and, more importantly, the newly formed blood essence core.

"Wang Lin, it appears that your dragon bloodline is not so ordinary. No wonder you were able to control the tribulation lightning.

Do you notice the sphere of blood essence revolving near your heart? That is a blood essence core, which forms when a spirit beast possesses a strong bloodline," explained Gu Yuena.

The other beasts of Star Dou appeared a tad bit later. They kneeled behind Gu Yuena, awaiting her command.

"Bi Ji, heal Wang Lin's wounds," ordered Gu Yuena as she looked at her. Bi Ji followed her command, using her emerald swan healing abilities. A green halo covered Wang Lin's wounds, healing them rapidly.

"Di Tian, teach him how to control his blood energy. If he proves proficient enough, you can teach him your Dragon King's Claw technique," said Gu Yuena.

"My lord, isn't this hasty? I doubt his capabilities to learn the Dragon King's Claw. He was only able to transform because he had a little dragon bloodline in his body. I don't think he has enough dragon bloodline to utilize the Dragon King's Claw technique," said Di Tian.

"Di Tian, don't you know how difficult it is to condense a bloodline core, let alone as a second soul core? Aren't you aware, as someone who has two soul cores, how difficult it is to condense them?" said Gu Yuena.

"My lord, are you saying this dragon condensed two soul cores, including a blood essence core?" asked Di Tian.

"Now you understand. He has enough bloodline purity to condense a blood essence core. He can definitely learn your Black Dragon Clan's prized Dragon Claw technique.

Di Tian, remember to teach him the Yin-Yang Complementary Technique while you're at it. He was lucky that his spiritual power offset the attractive forces between both his soul cores. He might still blow himself up if he doesn't learn how to reconcile his soul and bloodline cores," ordered Gu Yuena.

While Gu Yuena was communicating with Di Tian, Wang Lin's vocal cords healed. He overheard the conversation taking place before him.

"Gu Yuena, I want to go outside the Star Dou core," said Wang Lin. The great spirit beasts who heard him address the Silver Dragon King by her name stared at him in disbelief. Di Tian prepared to attack him for his disrespect.

"You want to go outside the Star Dou core? Have you forgotten the promise you made?" asked Gu Yuena, signaling Di Tian to stop.

"It's not like I'll be gone forever. I just want to go out. I'm not used to being cooped up in one place all the time," said Wang Lin.

"These days, you make me wonder if you are really a dragon. If you want to go out, all you need to do is learn the technique Di Tian teaches you to a proficient level. Then you can go," said Gu Yuena, knowing full well the difficulty of the techniques. She thought he would be stuck for at least a couple of decades before coming to beg her to change the terms.

"Then it's a deal, Gu Yuena. See you in a while," said Wang Lin with a smile on his dragon face.

Gu Yuena smiled at him and teleported away, leaving him with Di Tian, Bi Ji, and the other great spirit beasts of Star Dou that he saw for the first time. Bi Ji looked at Wang Lin in worry, fully aware of the trouble he was in after addressing the Silver Dragon King by her name in front of Di Tian.

"You want to go outside, right? Why don't we start learning now so that you can accomplish the lord's task?" said Di Tian with a hint of anger.

"I like this idea. Let's do it now so I can go in a couple of days after I learn it," said Wang Lin.

"Why don't you wait a couple more days? I believe you'll find it quite hard to move after learning the technique," said Di Tian, clearly annoyed.

Chapter 21 Yin-Yang complimentary soul core technique
Wang Lin and Di Tian arrived at a clearing. Behind them were the other Great Beasts of Star Dou: Xiong Li, Bi Ji, the three-headed mastiff, and two more spirit beasts in human form.

"Before you can learn the Yin-Yang Complementary Soul Core Technique, there is an alternative. You must first learn the Soul Resonance Technique," said Di Tian, placing a hand on Wang Lin's torso and using his spiritual sense to observe his body.

"It is as I suspected. You are already using Soul Resonance intuitively, although your application of it is crude. Let me teach you," Di Tian said as he began instructing Wang Lin in the method of the Soul Resonance Technique.

Wang Lin learned quickly. Using his newfound knowledge, he controlled his poison soul core and blood essence core, reducing the chances of an explosion. After seeing Wang Lin's progress, Di Tian continued with another lesson.

"Now that you know the Soul Resonance Technique, let me teach you the Yin-Yang Complementary Soul Core Technique. There are many ways to have two soul cores, but among them, the Yin-Yang Complementary Soul Core Technique is the strongest. It also has an advantage that other techniques don't: if you create your soul cores using this method, there is a possibility of forming a third soul core," said Di Tian.

"But there is a catch. When using the Yin-Yang Complementary Technique, you must split your spiritual and soul power completely. In the case of your poison soul core, there are traces of your spiritual power. If you want to utilize the Yin-Yang Complementary Technique, you must destroy both your soul and blood essence cores and recreate them," Di Tian explained.

"If it were a human, destroying their soul core would kill them. However, a spirit beast's body can withstand the force created by the destruction of a soul core. Even though it will be painful, there is a chance of success. What do you think? Do you want to learn the Yin-Yang Complementary Technique?" asked Di Tian.

"If you say it's painful, I will pass for now. Teach me the technique—you never know, I might change my mind one day," replied Wang Lin.

"Even though I'm disappointed, it is wise not to hastily attempt to destroy your soul cores. It is lucky that you somehow managed to create your soul core with resonance, which should be impossible for a spirit beast's physique. I wouldn't bet on your survival after destroying them. Let me teach you the technique as the Lord instructed," said Di Tian, as he taught the method of the Yin-Yang Complementary Technique.

"Bastard! You should have told me this crucial information before asking me to decide. Phew, luckily my aversion to pain saved me this time," Wang Lin thought to himself.

"Now that you have learned the Yin-Yang Complementary Soul Core Technique, it is time to learn the most prized possession of our Black Dragon Clan: the Dragon Claw Technique, bestowed upon us by the Dragon God," said Di Tian.

"Even though I'm reluctant to teach this technique to a snake with only a trace of dragon blood, if the Lord commands it, I cannot disobey. Now, look closely," said Di Tian.

Di Tian, who was in human form, transformed into his majestic black dragon form, floating in the air. His front claw shone with a rainbow brilliance, infused with soul power of multiple elements. As Di Tian displayed the Dragon Claw Technique, Wang Lin began to feel a pressure unlike anything he had experienced—even greater than the suppression of Gu Yuena.

Due to the nature of Wang Lin's soul being human, he could reduce the blood suppression of the Silver Dragon King, Gu Yuena, to a minimum. But now, facing the power of the Dragon Claw Technique, something within his blood beckoned him to submit.

All the other Great Beasts of Star Dou transformed back into their spirit beast forms at the display of the Dragon Claw Technique. Bi Ji transformed into a beautiful emerald-green swan; Xiong Li became an enormous bear with metallic claws; the green-haired man transformed into a demonic tree; the purple-haired lady into a purple-scaled dragon; and the three-headed mastiff remained unchanged. All the spirit beasts knelt in submission to the Dragon Claw Technique, a representation of the Dragon God's power.

Wang Lin, however, was an exception. Facing the full brunt of the aura, he remained standing, defying the Black Dragon.

"I underestimated you. It seems the Lord was correct in her assumption—you are somewhat capable if you can withstand this pressure," said Di Tian, eyeing Wang Lin.

"Now that the demonstration is finished, let me show you how the technique is accomplished," said Di Tian, as he began teaching the Dragon Claw Technique.

The lesson continued for hours. For Wang Lin, it was a new experience, as he learned about dragon physiology, meridians, soul power circulation, and more.

"Now that you have learned the theory, it's time to apply it. Weren't you in a hurry to leave Star Dou? The fastest way to learn any technique is through combat. Look at your fellow beasts—they will help you learn the technique through fighting. You said you could learn it in a couple of days, so let's see if you can manage that after fighting them for a couple of days," said Di Tian, flying away.

Xiong Li and the other beasts looked at Wang Lin menacingly. Meanwhile, Bi Ji gave him a pitying look.

"I warned you repeatedly to watch what you said. Now look at the trouble you've got yourself into," she said.

"It's okay, Bi Ji. It's not a problem. My body has been itching to let loose since forming my blood essence core. There's no way I can't handle them," said Wang Lin confidently.

"If you're that confident, let's do it," said Xiong Li, marching toward him. He wasn't alone—along with him, the other Great Beasts also moved to surround Wang Lin.

"You bastards! This is cheating. It isn't fair to fight all of you at once!" shouted Wang Lin.

"Hang on, Wang Lin! I'll heal you after the fight!" cheered Bi Ji from a distance.

Thus began the group beating of Wang Lin, which lasted for three whole days.

Chapter 22 Stellar Soul Core New
Wang Lin was sprawled on the ground, with many of his scales fallen.

"Didn't I warn you before to watch what you say in the presence of Di Tian? One day, you will get into huge trouble if you can't control your mouth," said Bi Ji as she placed her palms on Wang Lin's body.

The green halo of life energy emanating from Bi Ji's hands healed the wounds on his body.

"You know, it's not that I can't control my mouth; I know that Di Tian will not harm me unless he wants to get in trouble with Gu Yuena," said Wang Lin.

"Are you serious about venturing outside the core area? Just so you know, the Dragon Claw Technique of Di Tian is not something you can learn willy-nilly," said Bi Ji.

"There is no need to worry when it comes to me learning it. I have something up my sleeve."

"There is something I want to ask. Do you have any beast hides in your possession?" asked Wang Lin.

"I do. Why do you ask?" replied Bi Ji.

"I have a need for the beast hides. If you can lend me some, I will bring you something when I go outside the forest," promised Wang Lin.

"Even if it is possible to learn, I wonder how many years it will take to master the Dragon Claw Technique. Still, you can take some beast hides; it's not like they are precious natural treasures," replied Bi Ji.

Sometime later, Wang Lin was sitting cross-legged in his cave, writing on a beast hide with an ink brush that he had also borrowed from Bi Ji.

"It's completed. There are too many slots that are still empty. I guess I don't have to worry about not having space for these techniques," Wang Lin murmured to himself as he looked at the three techniques: Soul Core Resonance Technique, Yin-Yang Complementary Soul Core Technique, and Dragon Claw Technique, which he had inked on the beast hide.

Wang Lin stored the techniques that he had written in the system for enhancement. Minutes after, the techniques disappeared, and memories and information about practicing them appeared in his mind.

He was absorbed in digesting the plethora of information he was gaining. Hours passed as he gained a hundred years of memories of practicing those techniques. As time progressed, the techniques of Soul Core Resonance and Yin-Yang Complementary Soul Core seemed to fuse together, emerging as a completely new technique.

The new technique combined the strengths of both: the soul core frequency synchronization of the Soul Resonance Technique and the amalgamation of soul cores from the Yin-Yang Complementary Technique, forming a completely new approach.

Wang Lin continued to gain memories of the newly modified technique. The new technique removed the limit of having only three soul cores.

Now, he could have an unlimited number of soul cores, limited only by the toughness of his body. Multiple soul cores could be formed, resonating with one Nucleic Soul Core at the center, as the soul cores revolved around it like planets around the sun.

"Let's call this the Stellar Soul Core Technique," Wang Lin named the new technique.

However, he was still in a dilemma. To form the new soul core with this technique, he would need to destroy his Poison and Blood Essence Soul Cores. To destroy them, he would have to destabilize the frequencies at which they rotated. There was a caveat: the destabilized soul cores would explode, destroying the surrounding area, including his heart and head. He had to find a way to reconstruct his soul cores.

Wang Lin looked toward the system, often the solution to his problems. Most of the items in the system now were techniques, the exceptions being storage tools, Life Gold, a Soul Bone, and Tribulation Lightning.

He already knew from Bi Ji that the Soul Bone was useless to him unless he was human; all he could do with it was use it as a toothpick. Thus, his only options were Life Gold and Tribulation Lightning.

He took out the Life Gold, which doubled in size upon leaving the system, and breathed the rich life energy into his body. He directed the life energy toward his soul cores. The rich life energy brought a reaction from the soul cores, but it was the opposite of what he intended. Rather than destroying the soul cores, it infused them with energy, causing them to grow slightly.

After discovering that the Life Gold didn't work as intended, he released the Tribulation Lightning from the system and absorbed it into his body. Most of the lightning dispersed in his flesh, but a small amount entered his soul cores. This time, there was a positive change. After the Tribulation Lightning entered the soul core, it wobbled, became unstable, and then returned to normal.

The Tribulation Lightning wasn't enough to bring a noticeable change in the soul core, so he released more of it. As he absorbed it into his body, the lightning temporarily liquefied the soul cores before they once again returned to normal. Wang Lin noticed that the soul cores were isolated from one another. If he could use the momentary pause of the soul cores, he might be able to reconstruct them according to the Stellar Soul Core Formation Technique.

But there was a small problem: the amount of Tribulation Lightning that entered the soul core was minute compared to the lightning dispersed through his body.

So, he released a tremendous amount of lightning, which liquefied his Poison Soul Core and Blood Essence Core. The liquid Poison Core traveled from his head to his heart. He controlled the liquefied soul power, shaping it into a sphere as the liquefied Poison and Blood Essence Cores were reshaped. While he was reconstructing them, new changes began to take place. The dispersed lightning in his body gathered and formed a soul core made of Tribulation Lightning.

Wang Lin saw the opportunity and introduced the Tribulation Lightning Core into his Stellar Soul Cores. The three soul cores revolved in their own orbits as tiny amounts of their soul power were siphoned off to form a Nucleic Core at the center, containing all the attributes of the soul cores: Poison, Blood Essence, and Tribulation Lightning.
