So do we have anything in our arsenal that can deal with time travel? Because if Xanatos won he might have the Phoenix gate, he probably has the Grimour and he likely has the eye of Odin.
that's a very scary amount of magical blushit sitting around in Xanatos's back pocket.
please tell me time travel is off limits.
We've been explicitly told that time travel is off limits in the plot as a whole.
Also, Xanatos winning would be... not
great, but it'd be an ending we could live with. That's more than we can say for some of the other Kings.
[ ] Move Castle Doofhawk to Doofania
-Lizzie
How do we know Lizzie's that strong of a Stewardship hero?
Intrigue:
[ ] Wing the Hawk (Expose)
-Agent Russ
Hm. Interesting. It might not be our best choice (turning the Hawk and making him a double agent would be better for us in the long run). But it'd work well as an immediate "fuck you" to Judge Doom that would inconvenience him and damage his reputation, in response to the crap he pulled on us.
[ ] Survey Galfed Ship
-Von Drake
and
[ ] Research Dino Domestication
-Jumba
I'd rather commit Dr. von Drake to some other Learning action. Jumba gets a specific bonus to GalFed tech, doesn't he? I'd rather have a better chance of critting on that action, since a crit is more likely to net us immediate rewards or multiple projects.
Occult:
[ ] Search for magical individuals
-Janna
I'd rather put Janna on the Chicken Itza action. There's loot, and stuff gated behind it.
Personal:
-Doof
--[ ] Read spellbook
--[ ] Take self-defense classes
--[ ] Chat with the Bossman
---[ ] Janna
--[ ] Make up with Roger
-Goofy
--[ ] Finish your degree online
-Khan
--[ ] Get an apartment
-Dennis
--[ ] Search for Donald
-Mirage
--Look into wayward supers
-Vanessa
--[ ] Job shadow Doof
...Acceptable.
-LOVEMUFFIN
--[ ] Develop new social media platform
What's the DC on that action again? It's a DC 70 action, their threshold for a critical failure is about a 52, and Doof+LOVEMUFFIN does NOT
I'm going to offer the plan I made earlier today. It's the same thing, but I accounted for Norm and Vannessa this time.

On the whole I like this, but I'm worried about researching alchemy. Though there may just be nothing for it I guess? Maybe we could do Summon Malifishmertz as a personal action to reduce the risk or help us deal with the consequences of a hilarious failure.
Solution:
Do Xanadu this turn.
Do Chicken Itza next.
Felldrake isn't going to tell us about the map until we do Chicken Itza, but he's also not going to get his host killed in the middle of Mongolia if he can help it, and we're not getting a much better squad than Khan, Max, and Janna now that so many of our heroes are being allocated to double National Actions. Technor or Wile E. might increase a couple of bonuses by less than five, but that's not a lot and we have need of them elsewhere.
If you want to scrape Russ free to send him on the quest with Tooned In before going to Xanadu, fair enough. But we definitely need Russ on our Intrigue National Actions right now, so unless you think it's absolutely essential to get him, we're not going to get much more prepared for Xanadu in the near future than we are right now.
Again, they give us:
+97 Martial in combat, +68 Martial out of combat
+33 Diplomacy
+36 Stewardship
+43 Intrigue
+30 Learning
+27 Occult
-10 to all DCs
And one effectively immortal party member.
97 Martial. That forgives many sins.
Bear in mind that a lot of quest actions have DCs of, like, 80 or more. Having a combined bonus in the 30s is
not reassuring.
The extreme Martial makes it likely that we can survive any direct fights we get into, but Occult rolls can result in serious injuries, and blowing a Diplomacy or Stewardship check can cause other complications.
Why not just... take Chicken Itza first...?
