Eh, I mean, we have been warned before about Russ, and have been told that, if we assign him to an action that goes against the U.S. and the Masquerade... he just won't do it, even if it's a success. And... well, building a spy network that could end up being used against the U.S. and it's goverment... yeah. I mean, it's possible Russ would just make it super loyal to the U.S. Gov instead of us, which will still let us use it for ourselves.
That's a lot of Ifs... Also, another suggestion to think about. Taking in US Secret Agency refugees and fusing them with our spy network. 🕵️‍♂️

When are we going to do this? Just want to know because it's the only thing we got to finding out more about Star.
In my plan its added as L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. extra action, as well as Mirage personal [] look into wayward capes option, which I think is even better bet on finding devil girl. Its just I'll warn that I also have put Russ on our spy network option which many find too controversial.

Notably, as the only person who is actually doing something about toons, we get a 25 pt loyalty bonus, which is worth his dislike of us for our anti-govt stance and then some.

Edit: Also this entire issue is solvable by just running Goofy for president.
At this point, I don't even care about the spy network thing. I just don't like to be called in bad faith for something I was NOT acting in bad faith with! That is a personal attack at that point.

Heck, by Tempest's own standards, he'd have a giant laundry list of bad faith arguments both in this one alone and in multiple turns of his salt at this point, except I know those aren't bad faith. Why? Because I'm not so obstinate as to constantly and consistently take the fact that different people interpret and perceive information in different ways and can honestly believe those "different interpretations" to be true, to be an example of bad faith. I'd be far less annoyed if he called me "hysterical" than "fearmongering" because "fearmongering" assigns negative intent where "hysterical" doesn't. I would still disagree with "hysterical" of course, but it still doesn't imply malicious intent on my behalf.

No. No it was not. That wasn't a personal attack by any reasonable metric. I agree though that at this point you are being hysterical. See that? That could be construed as a personal attack. Except you brought up the descriptor first. I called what you did fear mongering because the wording was designed to make readers fearful of the results. That is literally the definition of fear mongering.

I wouldn't take hysterical as a personal attack because it's not making a judgement on my character. It is stating a subjective view on my emotional state. It's one I disagree with, but it is a VALID view on the grounds of subjectivity, which are the same grounds I don't go declaring your constant salt and needless antagonism towards everything you don't agree with as being bad faith.

Saying I am fear-mongering does constitute a character attack as it assigns a manipulative aspect to my character, especially as you, once again, just came out of nowhere and made the accusation before ANYONE was even saying anything against that point and the only person arguing was agreeing with that point.

Please, this isn't helping. Both you you take a break. @PyrrosWarrior is right that this has gone beyond an productive discussion of options. I know how frustrating this can be, and how hard it is to walk away*, but I promise you will both earn my respect and many others for knowing when to walk away.

*And how many times I have failed my own advice.

Anyway moratorium ends in 2 hours so let's do some more brainstorming.

Should we have Temujin deal with the bird or have Norm do it so we can take the training camp?

The name "Hawk" got me thinking...do you think anyone might assume that "The Beak" is a real, full-time superhero in this timeline? I mean, that was technically Phineas and Ferb's Iron Man moment :p

I am in favor of having Temujin do it. There is a chance of Synergy happening if we vote for Dennis to work alongside Temujin and Hego doing good deeds on the streets. With the three of them on the case the bird will not escape and there's a chance of having a new trait similar to Doof troops.

Why?
-Boot Camp: Our Martial bonus is not great, and with Khan's technology malus and Norm's difficulties out of direct combat, that makes it difficult to actually succeed at the upgrade Martial actions. Increasing Doof's own Martial would go some ways towards offsetting this. (As it is, Jumba is our best hero unit for upgrades, and he's not quite reliable.)

-Recruiting the Professor: He goes back on the market next turn, so this is the last turn we know we can get him. Plus, next turn, either we'll have failed Think Tank and need to try again (which Jumba will be too Hungry for Science to do) or we'll need two Learning Heroes for our two Learning Actions. Alternatively, depending on how things work, we might need a Learning Hero to put into the Head Researcher slot, and I'm not sure Jumba is temperamentally suited for the role.

Another Diplo AP would be great, but I'm willing to put it off for a turn.

-Stewardship AP: We've got things to do.

-Intrigue AP with Mirage: So many things to do. This is being done with Mirage because of the concerns with having an agent of the government we seceded from build our spy network.

-Learning AP: So many things to do.

-Minor Artifacts: It's useful and easy, so sure.

-L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. on the chip: This is an easy - and pretty much the only easy - way we have to increase our home security, and it'll be harder to do once we decentralize our Normbots. Plus, it'll be harder for the Resistance to vandalize our Normbots once they're not as dumb.

-Monogram and OWCA: Might give miscellaneous bonuses on rolls. Might give a L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N.-style action. Likely worth our while.

-Russ working for Uncle Sam: While the government good boy points are nice and all, my main thought here is that a lot of the government's current problems (crime rings and drugs everywhere, and Doom's little lynch mobs) are also our problems. If Russ could deal with one of those on government time, that's a win for us, and if he does something unrelated to us that's fine too. I don't think the government would have their liaison to Doof take direct actions against Doof.

-Norm following Doof around like a weirdo: This action can supposedly result in Norm helping us with what we're doing, and this plan takes enough high DC actions that fishing for a random bonus is definitely worthwhile.

-Dennis and Khan: If Doof is going to suffer, maybe Dennis should too. And a swole Dennis would just be a sight to see.

-Hego vs Inquinator: Inquinator is a perfect Glory Age sort of opponent for Hego to fight, let him have this, we're never going to let him fight real enemies otherwise.

-Technor and Lizzie: We frankly need more hero units if we're going to be picking up more actions per turn and we still want to do quests ever. Getting Lizzie on board is worth our time.

-Max on Vacation: Poor boy needs it.

-Vanessa for College: Stat boosts~~~

TL;DR: Spy ring plan with Mirage instead of Russ.

Nemesis actions are contested rolls, so it would be safer for us to have Temujin deal with Inquinator, to reduce the possibility of failure. Last time we had to deal with Inquinator, Norm failed to beat him (admittedly because the bird rolled very high before accounting for Inquinator's martial stat and other bonuses).
[ ] (Martial) Take down Inquinator
Norm: 69+36+8=113
Inquinator:99+16+10= 125

I do kind of like the idea of having Norm do it if we're upgrading him and the norm bots with the chip this turn.

It could serve as a great field test... and you have to remember that the combat AI gets better the more combat that gets exposed to, so fighting Inquinator could increase Norm's martial slightly farther than the upgrade by itself did.

I'd prefer to have Norm or Genghis Khan fight Inquinator, they have more martial than Hego.
This is not incorrect but just look at Hego, poor boy never gets to fight any real crime, and now there's a chance we can give him a fight where his Glory Daze trait will give him a buff instead of a penalty.

This is his one chance, I don't want to take that away from him.

(But if people really want Norm Prime to do it I guess that's fine too. Some day, Hego. Some day.)

On phone so can't set up proper plan, but I have to vehemently agree with the idea that having Russ set up our spy network is a bad idea.

His character sheet literally states outright he's got divided loyalties! Good God. Sure he likes Toons and thus is so far but why the hell bake in such a massive security risk in our spy network from the start! Even if we do reunite with the gov, why???

Perhaps Hego could have [] Do Good Deeds, and maybe if he rolls really well he could help rescue people from Inquinator or something

Also noticed a few people in your plan that don't have personal actions.

I'd rather have Inquinator to be dealt with here and now, rather than have him be a recurring problem.
