I actually didn´t have any actual there past maybe having Roddys building trait synergize with repairing the powerplant and was genuine trying to get other people´s input on it.
Hm. I kinda assumed you meant P&F, seeing as accomplishing over-the-top projects in extremely narrow time windows is...Kinda their thind. Literally, every episode of the show, they accomplish massive construction projects in less then a few hours. That said, I have recently learned from the Discord that Roddy's trait would actually proc for either, so...Hm. As I said, I think I prefer P&F on Normbots over P&F on power plant. Since they're equal DCs, and P&F only have a one percentage point higher chance, it really just comes down to narrative, and I want to see what they'd do with Normbots.

Basically, it's repairing from a ruined state a power plant yourself- rather than spending the income that would be needed to contract out to some other company. It's not that difficult in broad terms, but there's a good chance that it won't finish on time because normally, it takes a lot more time than a single month to finish the project. Therefore, a failure would make you do it again and be fluffed as only partially done. It would take incredible logistical genius to build a whole power plant osha compliant in 60 days. It's roughly comparable to the DC 120 action to build new Large Herbivore Exhibits. We don't want to introduce multi-turn actions unless its really necessary, so... this conveys the same basic idea.
That's fair and makes sense.

The main stressor I see is the (relatively) high chance of critical failures. Honestly I sometimes wish there were a mechanic for at least sometimes divorcing the Critical Failure and Failure DCs for actions from each other entirely. Because what seems in order here, speculatively speaking, is to convey "this project will take a lot of work to do" as distinct from "this project is spectacularly dangerous and likely to blow up in your faces if you send anything but your very best to do it."

I'd say Splatter

I'd say she has a good chance to love all of our crazy buildings, her artstyle is less traditional and more... Picasso on crack.

I am more wary of her Very High Instability - I´d rather not have her go all LM on our asses just because her artistic sensibilities got offended by us being "too fat, too tall, too SYMMETRICAL", you know?

Having seen her episodes she is unstable but in the sense that most Batman villains are (not Joker bad, just a regular Batman villain level of unstable).
Its the kind of instability that I believe we can work with (her main triggers being art she considers inferior specially comic books (don't ever send her into a comic book convention if you don't want absolute chaos))
And for the black ops thing the Pragmatism: Very High with Quirkiness: High and Tolerance for Nonsense: High seems perfect
Specially for a group that will have Technor as the leader

So in the end, we could make use of her relatively easily if we just played to her strengths as a Black Ops gal (that being said, would she even count as a Cap, @Made in Heaven ?) and maybe throw her at Technor once or twice to more accurately assess her mental state?

Fine by me.

For Khan's PA, would anyone like to have him get an apartment? It's been years since his resurrectiom, feels like it's about time for him to gain a little more independence - esepcially since he now knows how to do thinga like use a light switch and flush toilet.

IF we Hire Olivia, and send her after the DoI, could we write in "go nuts, use your own judgment for how to do it" for her? she is, after all, a master thief. She might even snatch all the pieces AND the treasure before anyone gets near to it.

I have Norm helping Doof write his musical as a write in personal. We've gotten huge benefits towards completing it and should get it done. It's been in the backburner for a long time, along with discovering what potions we've unlocked to choose from.

My attempt at a plan. My two personal goals for this plan was to:
1. Put in as many (reasonable) write-in personal actions as possible. I think that there is a lot of room for creativity here, and I'm kind of disappointed to see that most plans aren't doing more of these.
2. Throw in as much dice-fuelled chaos as possible. We're tinkering with Inators, Jumba is experimenting, and Phineas and Ferb are doing a personal action. No real justification for this, I just really like the Inators and rolling dice.

Some other notable choices I've made includes:
* Having Mirage tutor Doof on how to negotiate. This should be especially impactful since Xanatos just took him to the cleaners, so Doof should be more receptive to learning the art of the deal from someone as corporate-cultured as Mirage.
* Norm is helping Doof write his musical. Literally anything is better than him wishing he was a real boy. Anything.
* Max and Vanessa are hanging out. In my opinion, this is better than Max just going off and doing his own thing alone. I honestly can't think of anything better for Vanessa to do, and I would be willing to change this if anyone comes up with something interesting.

Open to suggestions and alternations.

My issue with write ins for personals is that they already have personals that will lead to something already.

Like for Max he has had go to a concert and play video games forever. If we roll poorly we probably won't get anything special but if we roll high I'm certain they have something planned for it.

There's a time and place for clever write ins but not to the exclusion of stuff they've set up already.

Having Wasabi over P&F on the repair national does decrease the odds of actually doing it by a bit
Wasabi has as his base roll 24 + 26 - 2 = 50 (since he has negative loyalty and his trait doesn't proc for either of the repair actions)
P&F have as their base roll 24 + 38 + 3 = 65
The DC of the actions is 120 so with Wasabi on the action we would need to roll a 70 without XP and a 60 using XP
VS needing to roll a 55 without XP for P&F or 45 with XP

I agree with that for some of the personal actions. I've got Ludivine repairing her robot and Khan getting an apartment, for example. But I also believe that not all personal actions are created equal, and that playing video games or going to a concert is almost certainly going to lead to anything actually substantial.

Like, maybe rolling high on these two personal actions would give Max +5 loyalty, at best. I'd be much more interested to see what happens if Max and Vanessa hang out. Esepcially since both are characters that we've been somewhat struggling to find unique identities and uses for.

Well, I've kind of built the core identity of the plan around Phineas and Ferb taking a personal action (among other things), so I can't have them do the repair national action. That's not something I'm willing to budge on.

I was going to put Ludivine on it instead, but we've been burned by that Absent Minded trait before. I feel lile the smaller chance of meeting the DC is better than the 1 in 6 chance of flatout not doing the action at all. But if someone is willing to do the math and figure out which hero unit would be best to take this action (besides P&F), I'd be willing to make some adjustments.

Yup. I think you've actually hit on one of the major limitations of CKII quests- difficulty portraying mundane long-term projects that are lots of work but unlikely to really blow up in your face.

I suppose one cludge could be to use the mechanics for personal actions where the roll simply contributes a certain amount of progress with the action completing once you accumulate enough, and only very high or low rolls having additional effects. Then again, doing that might turn this into a sort of planquest/CKII quest hybrid, and I'm not sure the QM wants to go in that direction.

Perhaps another option would be to to have a certain category of "easy but a lot of work" actions. These would have greatly lowered threshold not only for critical failure, but also for bare failure- with the lowered DC next turn from a bare failure representing how you didn't get it done that turn, but have a lot less to do next turn.

But I also believe that not all personal actions are created equal, and that playing video games or going to a concert is almost certainly going to lead to anything actually substantial.

At a guess, I imagine the concert one might unlock Powerline for recruitment and video games would probably introduce some other young people he would be playing with over the internet.

Zootopia as a placeholder until we can think of a way for Monogram to investigate National Treasure.

Upgrade Normbots DC went down by 35. Most likely because they are currently down. We'll need to upgrade them anyway, so doing it while they are already down is the perfect opportunity.
Would you please swap Gomez back? I like your plan, but we really shouldn't do the coven before we do Basic Magical Theory, especially when we could crit fail.

At a guess, I imagine the concert one might unlock Powerline for recruitment and video games would probably introduce some other young people he would be playing with over the internet.

Maybe? I don't know, I personally think it's a little far-fetched. I could see the Powerline concert leading to Max opening up something interesting with some named character, maybe not Powerline himself. The video game action I truly cannot see leading to anything groundbreaking barring a crit success.

Possible alternative: Have Vanessa and Max go to the Powerline concert together?

All I'm saying is that they made the personals for a reason and just brushing them off is kinda doing them a disservice.

Again: not all personals are created equal. The "Watch El Matador de Amor" action only exists to fill space and doesn't accomplish anything of importance; that's something I remember the GMs saying themselves (and please tell me if I'm wrong here). Some actions are powerful and impactful, some are basically just flavor text, and most are somewhere in between.

And even if I am "brushing them off", it is only because I think the potential reward for the write-in action outweights the potential reward for the pre-written personal actions. Again, I'm having Khan move into an apartment and Ludivine repair her robot, and this is because I think these actions are more impactful than any write-in I could come up with. I'm not making write-ins for the sake of it.

I also think Max hanging out with Vanessa can be more entertaining and lead to better character development than him playing video games, and that is ultimately what I enjoy reading, so that is what direction I'm trying to steer the story in. But that is definitely a personal opinion, and I will admit I could very well be wrong and that there is something interesting locked behind these personal actions. I just don't think so myself.
