All Crit chances are below 1.1% unless otherwise noted. All Chance of Successes are Calculated WITHOUT XP (and based off last turn's stats). I will be Putting XP on The Repair actions, and Form a Coven.

This plan is intended to Give us the best people and best Odds for each action. Mesmerella is recruited by technor in the hopes of getting the Heroball next turn (with a Cape from SFIT) or the turn after. SFIT recruiting is hopefully to get Hiro, or Karmi, But it could get us another really good Cape for the Heroball in the worst case scenario.

Norm gets a Write in Personal to Hang out with Ludvine as she upgrades the Normbots. Algorithmic Priming might help Norm Grow into a real boy, after all.

Wile E. Gets a +10 on tracking Nemeses. Monogram gets a +10 on actions below DC 100 to infiltrate against villains. But more importantly, We're infiltrating Zootoopia using secret agent animals which should give a bonus there too.

Comparing the "Upgrade Normbots to current standard" actions, it looks like the DC reduced by 35 because they are currently offline (and provides an additional tech to add to the upgrade), so doing it right now seems like a good idea, especially with how their specs were leaked in the past. It seems like a very rare opportunity that would be worth delaying supervillainy by just one turn.

And Olivia can only do one action a year anyways.

Thoughts?
I mean, I was kind of thinking we should beef up our security anyway, and we do have to hire Olivia, so it might be a good idea to wait a bit until we can build up a bigger reserve. We are expecting a net gain even without the Supervillainy, and despite the meat fall, right?

Ahhh.
@Arathnorn , if we wanted to and I'm not saying we should... Well, hypothetically could we assign them the Big Idea project of "build a power plant to replace the old one?" What would be the DC, if so?

It would probably be about the same, maybe sliiightly higher. The power plant got messed up bad.

So what I'd like to ask is... What about this action is particularly difficult, that gives it a DC of 120 or so? What are the specific foreseeable obstacles to success?

Basically, it's repairing from a ruined state a power plant yourself- rather than spending the income that would be needed to contract out to some other company. It's not that difficult in broad terms, but there's a good chance that it won't finish on time because normally, it takes a lot more time than a single month to finish the project. Therefore, a failure would make you do it again and be fluffed as only partially done. It would take incredible logistical genius to build a whole power plant osha compliant in 60 days. It's roughly comparable to the DC 120 action to build new Large Herbivore Exhibits. We don't want to introduce multi-turn actions unless its really necessary, so... this conveys the same basic idea.

No idea why the normbots are that high, though.

I feel like there should be a way to skew the results to be more positive like what happened with Jumba's Experiments (still need to use that at some point). @Made in Heaven, if there is a way to do so, please tell me there is (you don't need to indicate what that way is or even post it in the thread; this is just for my piece of mind and a PM saying "Yes, there is" is good enough for me).

That would be the sort of 'big super-neat core character bonus' that you might get at a narratively meaningful time, rather than from any specific national action.

That's fair. I'm going to have Gomez form the coven.
Please don't, for 2 reasons.
First off, I just think that trying to form a coven without even knowing the basics of magic isn't a good idea, narratively speaking, and it's not as if it's a massively time sensitive thing. Also, remember, it's unlikely that the council gives a direct boost to rolls, or we would have seen it in the rival reports,

Second, even if we do put Gomez on it, I'd like to wait at least a short while before doing so. He's a good toady, sure, but I'd be worried about what effect he might have on the culture of the coven, as opposed to Malifishmertz or Janna. Maybe that'll change in the future, but for now let's just work on the basics and get to know him as a character.

Third… I just don't like risking crit fails when we could pretty reasonably attempt to wait and reduce that probability, even slightly.

On the other hand, this seems like a great idea, which we could put either Khan or Wendy Wower on. I feel like Wendy might be more interesting, but also I'm interested in her other stuff. Supervillainy can wait a turn, especially now that we're not massively in the hole.

The coven is the last piece we need to get the council. The council will help us somehow.

We need to focus on that till we get it.

I'd give it Personal Attention as well.

I agree, though I don't want to do any more Personal Attention for a while. But risking a crit fail, which could up the DC to unreachable levels, is something we can't risk. Also, we don't want to build it up with a bad foundation.

First off, I just think that trying to form a coven without even knowing the basics of magic isn't a good idea, narratively speaking,
This is a decent argument, really. Also, it occurs to me that, if it is possible to unlock an Occult score for Gomez, which it probably should be, having him research basic magic would be a good way to try for that. And that would be a boost well worth considering.

and it's not as if it's a massively time sensitive thing.
This is not exactly true. Every turn we delay unlocking a second Occult action has an opportunity cost of one less occult action we could be taking. That's fairly significant, imo.

Also, remember, it's unlikely that the council gives a direct boost to rolls, or we would have seen it in the rival reports,
Not necessarily. If, say, it allows us to add the councilors stats instead of the king's, or add a councilor's relevant trait, we wouldn't necessarily be able to tell.

This is a pretty valid narrative argument too, really. Though it isn't exactly like he's completely new to the company either.

Third… I just don't like risking crit fails when we could pretty reasonably attempt to wait and reduce that probability, even slightly.
That's fair, and I did say I wasn't sure if it was worth the wait, not that it wasn't. And if we can improve Doof's Occult score, or unlock Gomez', it very well might be worth the wait. I'm just feeling a bit leary about putting the council off for too long, so I want to make sure we've at least considered the pros and cons.

This is not exactly true. Every turn we delay unlocking a second Occult action has an opportunity cost of one less occult action we could be taking. That's fairly significant, imo.
I mean, in one sense, this is definitely true. But in another sense, our stats for occult and the numbers of heroes we have for it are just incredibly low, and because of that a second occult action just isn't as big of a priority. Even if we had it, we wouldn't use it properly.
Not necessarily. If, say, it allows us to add the councilors stats instead of the king's, or add a councilor's relevant trait, we wouldn't necessarily be able to tell.
This could be true, but I don't think we've seen any jumps in base stat indicating completing the council, nor have we seen any kings whose stat line as seen in person doesn't match their rival reports stat lines.

For people wanting to hire Phoenix Splatter our rolodex has updated information due to Doof's therapy and her Instability is Very High and a St. Carnard villain which might make her more trouble than she's worth. I think a Hero like Mesmerella or Dingo would be a much better investment.

@weredrago2 , as our primary Card-developing person, might I suggest/beg for Ben Kendell from G-Force as a cardable character? If the plot of that particular movie didn't work out and he had to shut down his project as a discredited scientist, he would be basically a shoe-in for NOWCA. At least if the animal agents got to talk, they could probably get a lot more done.

[ ] Poke around the National Archives to find out what happened
DC ???

From what you can tell, the people who built the Archives designed it so the stuff inside would be pretty hard to steal. As such, the fact that somebody did it anyway has your Evil senses tingling. With the FBI still trying to track down the thief, maybe you can get a clearer look by sending in someone to try and determine how they did it? Maybe you should take a look at their computer system since no alarms went off...

OR

[ ] Offer your assistance to the FBI
DC ???

Okay, you acknowledge that getting into Uncle Sam's good graces would be a smart move for you. So, what better way than help them get back one of the most important documents in the country's history? Not only will this endear Uncle Sam towards you, your gut tells you that whoever this thief is is at least worth a meeting. Cooperating with the authorities would make getting access to them a lot easier.

I don't see why not, besides it being a potential source of grief for C-Moon and Arathnorn when I risk the chance of them being forced to use G-Force.

On second, thought, that's a great reason to do it. Dr. Kendell made a brief cameo in my International game, so I can even use the same picture.

I'm going to be honest, I'm generally not a huge fan of the 'but what if everything went perfect' omakes. You did put effort in though. 400XP.

Why does Hego get all the good omakes? Despite everything, you guys still care about him.

...

I'll have to keep that in mind.

700XP. Oh. And canon.

You have done a great service for a great many people. 700XP and a threadmark in Informational as long as it stays current.

And this was quite well done too! Another 500XP!

Sorry for the long delay in getting these done folks; had to go back through and find them manually. If I missed yours, let me know!

Missed one omake of mine! It was between the vote closing and results coming in for the last turn so in a bit of a limbo zone, not surprised it was missed but here it is.

Our inator rolls have sucked. A -10 on 2D100 is not nearly enough to explain the horrific results we have been getting. Even more so when this latest turn didn't have that debuff and still massively screwed us over.

We like Janna because she got a whole bunch of good rolls early on and even now has few bad rolls on her record. We got rid of Hego because he invariably rolled badly. IIRC the only good roll he ever managed was on something that was mathematically impossible for him to succeed on.
It is clear that the dice hate our inators just as much as they hated Hego. Yet people insist on continuing with them.
We got rid of Hego because he just didn't seem happy working for us. He didn't fit in. Also, seriously, STOP ASCRIBING AGENCY TO THE POLYHEDRONS.

I'm thinking maybe hold off on the power plant for a turn while focusing on Normbots?

Having the Normbot hubs repaired might decrease the DC a fair amount, since we'll have them as a labor/workforce to assist with rebuilding the power plant and to ensure nothing goes wrong.

So about our write-in investigations. @Arathnorn what would be DC for this variations?

[ ] Investigate the theft of the Declaration of Independence
DC???
Hack into surveillance data from cameras in general closeness of National Archives, use CoffeeJava processing power to determinate suspiciously acting individuals on the scene at the time of the theft.

[] Bug Emerald Solanaceae
DC???
You suspect that codes for the digitizer, Project Lumines, were acquired by a comestibles firm named Emerald Solanaceae. It is something that deserves further investigation. If only you had an army of really small minions to leave listening devices in vents and to connect hacking tools to internet cables. Luckily you have something like this. If they keep codes in their servers maybe you will manage to acquire them outright.

Okay, well for the record, let's remember this:

When you negotiate with Judge Doom, expect him to be a creep. Likewise expect Doof to ramble, Glomgold to be greedy to the point of miserliness, Shere Khan to exude predatory menace, and Shego to file her nails.

In much the same spirit, when you negotiate with Xanatos, expect him to maneuver for personal advantage.

If you don't think you can hold your own against Xanatos when he's maneuvering for personal advantage, do not dicker with Xanatos. This is the case for much the same reason that you should not armwrestle with Hego unless you can bench-press a truck, nor make fun of Shego's grooming habits unless you are immune to plasma bolts.

Because some characters are predictable and will act in logically predictable ways, according to their nature, even when it is not to your advantage for them to do so.

Additionally to his basic "sly dog that will always try to get a benefit outta stuff" personality quirk, these negotiations were kinda doomed to fail against someone like David (or Glomgold as well, for that matter) because of the third Ferengi Rule of Acquisitions from Star Trek fame:

"Do not pay more for an acquisition than you have to"

That immediately put him into "conflict" with us, who would naturally be inclined to *take as much as we can* and since David with his business smarts, winning personality and the fact that he was the only explicitly interested customer for that tech, in retrospect we could only lose that "conflict" aside from a literal 1-in10k-chance of him crit-failing and us crit-suceeding.

...Now I feel bad about not pushing harder agaisnt those renegotiations beforehand...oh well, as I said before our Crit-Fail wasn´t so bad in the end since we still got the original deal of 3 Income outta it and can easily spin the impetus for that info leak in our favor.

Basically, it's repairing from a ruined state a power plant yourself- rather than spending the income that would be needed to contract out to some other company. It's not that difficult in broad terms, but there's a good chance that it won't finish on time because normally, it takes a lot more time than a single month to finish the project. No idea why the normbots are that high, though.

So the main difficulty of repairing the powerplant is not about going through the necessary motions themselves, but doing that *on a time crunch with the quality still intact*, yes?

Hm, which of our Stews would be good in doing things on a time budget, I wonder...Any ideas, guys?

DC 150, they have no reason to trust you right now and you have no hero unit they would be particularly happy about helping them for the time being, but they miiiiiight grudgingly accept your help if you get lucky and promise to not like... proclaim to the world you're the one who got it back.

So, what I am reading between the lines there is that if we had access to Agent Russ (who is technically an FBI plant in our corp, despite our good personal relations with each other) right now, the DC of that action would be at least somewhat lower on account of us having an Operative they can trust, yes?

Could you give us an explicit DC for that action if Russ were here again right now? Just for reference, you know?

I see where you're going, but I think Roddy's bonus applies for the power plant but not on the Normbots. If we move P&F to the power plant, then we have to find someone to handle the Normbots and the obvious choice isn't an option, because I want to get sapient AI as soon as possible. I guess Ludivine maybe, but, honestly, I just like the idea of P&F working on Normbots.

I actually didn´t have any actual there past maybe having Roddys building trait synergize with repairing the powerplant and was genuine trying to get other people´s input on it.
