Hego going supervilain or taking his inner shego out lol. Prepare for the world becuse we did need another evil expy of shego lol.

i mena the guy is pwerfull he just need a big motivation.

Aside for that i think that maybe kat will losesupport from factions of the kats after this action. If you think about it Hego dodged a bullet.

Nah, let's do therapy instead of supervillainy.
It was floated in the discord to have Olivia Dickens do supervillainy next turn.

Supervillainy is an extremely open ended action so who we put on it would affect in great part the reward and how it goes.

Olivia would be at least in my opinion our best hero to get a chunck of inmediat income and for it to not get heavily traced back to us.

Hego already destroyed the dish at the taco place.
I legitimately hope he doesn't go supervillain, we have enough of those in our employ already.
I mean... Sure? I was talking more about the odds of Hego turning Evil versus staying a failed superhero, but okay.

Given how someone died for him because of his flawed ideology this might put him on the path of becoming an anti hero which might be his best option at the moment.

It mostly comes down to whether he is a better villain than he is a hero. Kind of like how Ron Stoppable effectively became a potential extinction level event if allowed to be evil for more than thirty seconds. Maybe? But, if not, then having a hero at least gives us a novel tool in the utility belt that might be useful. Might. He might not really be pulling his weight in either state unless this spurs something special.

I'm kind of hoping he goes through a whole cycle because of this. He goes villain, realizes that too is ashes in his mouth, and then cycles back to first anti-hero and then proper hero. Free of ego, he becomes a proper dark knight.

Its kind of a pipe dream, but its good to dream.

Heroes can have tragic backstories, in my experience most of them do.
This kind of feels like an Uncle Ben moment to me. It's an "I screwed up, and someone died for it" thing. Sure, it's a cat, but considering that he's been spending half his time rescuing cats from trees, and it's a cat doing the murdering, I think it's still going to hit pretty hard.

I disagree.

Technor has higher priorities besides therapy.
  • Martial action perform Supervillainy so we can get income for the buyout options that have been hinted are going away very soon
  • Diplo actions to recruit, collab, and reach out (Mezmerella or Splatter, Imagination Institute, reaching out to Shere Khan to replace our destroyed powerplant, etc.)
  • Building his body
  • etc.
Even if we did decide to have him do therapy, there are higher priority targets for therapy (Malifishimertz's anti social issues which could lead to serious mental health problems) compared to Hego, and their problems make more sense to be broached with via therapy compared to Hego's problems.

Hego already knows what his problem is, from Shego and Roddy. It's up to him to figure out how to practically apply the knowledge to his life.

What do you think he would learn from Technor that he wouldn't already know? That's what makes me think you're using therapy like a "solve problem" button for Hego.
One, TECHNOR isn't actually the only therapist in existence, and would likely be a poor fit for Hego anyway, given the whole supervillain thing. Two, just because you know you have a problem, and you know what it is, doesn't mean you suddenly can't use therapy. That's just the first couple of steps, there's plenty more, even optimistically assuming you don't have to go back over any of those steps. It's not a solve problem button at all, it's a process.

Though, granted, this is not exactly well reflected by the mechanics used in this quest, but oh well. We both think sending Hego to TECHNOR isn't the right approach anyway.

He just watched someone fucking die dude, he needs therapy and I won't take no for an answer.

PTSD is more important than social issues
This seems kind of callous to use as what feels like an emotional bludgeon to assert a pre-emptive ultimatum in a quest that's based on a cartoon on an internet forum. Especially when it hinges on an assumption of what will happen to Hego, and simultaneously downplays Malifishmertz's problems as mere "social issues".

Also, as @Tumach has said, Technor isn't the only therapist in the world and he likely isn't a good fit for Hego in the first place, especially on this issue.

1. I am stating my opinion, one that won't change, not saying an ultimatum

2. I am not downplaying Malifishmertz's social issues, I'm putting priority on what I believe to be a more pressing issue

3. THECHNOR is the only one we currently have so he's all we have to work with

4. I'm being no more callous than you just going, oh he'll be fine, he already knows what the problem is so he shouldn't have any trouble!

Dude did Hego just narrowly avoid getting KILLED?

This guy will need therapy. Not like, TECHNOR therapy. He needs to go on vacation for a few months with a dedicated therapist.

Coal shipments were set on fire, water pipes were sliced in half, and electrical transformers were melted to slag.
WTF We're still using coal-fired power station? This is inexcusable! We're supposed to be green! We must hurry and get fusion going!

Because people seem unwilling to take the fusion learning actions, if we want fusion to replace the broken power we're probably going to have to reach out to Shere Khan.

I think doing that in addition to perhaps doing the Imagination Institute or another US government collab could be good options for our two diplo actions next turn, and we could do the necessary recruiting afterwards. IIRC we were supposed to unlock the ability to lend condottieri to the government by reaching out to them which could be a more moral way to get some extra short-term income.

Making sure to rebuild our damaged utilities better than they were before could be a good PR coup. Or perhaps Shere Khan will reach out to us and offer to sell us a plant out of his own initiative? (Simultaneously being a PR coup for himself while also profiting from our desperation)

One issue is that it would cost more income when we're needing a lot of income already. Maybe it could be charged as a long-term expense for a certain amount of years rather than as a short-term income loss.

Not necessarily. Now that we know we can write-in personals, we could assign Hego to find a non-supervillain therapist.
I don't want to commit to doing this pre-emptively, but I would definitely be more likely to use Hego's personal action instead of Technor's.

I want him to go berserker. to go super saiyan yoiu know?.

Like take a note to the silent spiderman, like your know you are i problem if spiderman isnt talking when he is beating you.

But yeha after this quest he is going to change.... like a lot, A LOT.

lol i could see becoming Kat nemesis.

Honestly speaking keeping that -27 at a last stand, means Hego isn't a hero at all.

I'm not happy with how the last roll was handled.

In an actual campaign this is where the I'd expect the GM to offer a last chance, unencumbered by bad luck that'd happened before. I'm disappointed things didn't turn out that way.
Yeah, that's something I noticed too. For all practical purposes it was impossible for Hego to succeed this update and it grates something fierce.

On the one hand, oh, that poor cat who tried to stand up to Kat.

On the other...we might be getting a super-saiyan moment here with Hugo.

"Kitty cat...DON'T YOU DARE TALK ABOUT KITTY CAT!" And then the world blurs into Colour
