That sounds so in character for Doof if we could find a petty reason for doing it. That way, we can mask the meta gaming reasoning for assaulting Turbo.

Uh... he worked for an arcade for a few weeks, and the kids there treated him like crap? He quit because of the little monsters, and held a grudge against the arcade's apathy?

He went to one of those dumb token machines and was incensed that they wouldn't accept $2 bills.

Or it didn't give him all his tokens...

Or as a child he spotted a dunkleberry/platypus action figure, and was starstruck/enamored and wanted it sooo badly that he slaved away for pennies just so that he could buy the tokens to win the tickets that were so frustrating to attain. But finally, finally he earned enough. He proudly brought his tickets to the prize counter, shaking with anticipation. He finally had enough, and the no-face drone manning the counter handed him his doll.

Doof was ecstatic, and enthusiastically went to press it's patented action button - as he did the arm broke off.

And Doof realized that the toy he so treasured and was looking forward to was a knock off piece of crap.

Thus his childhood delusions were dashed like so much cheap plastic.

Makes me look forward to Doof talking with Tobe, their shared desire for Vengeance/Revenge ought to lead to some interesting outcomes.

The Remember-When-Inator!
Positive: "So, I realized, there's a lot of situations where I have some sort of tragic backstory that inexplicably connects, right? But it's always so tiring to explain the whole thing, every time! So I figured if I blast through all of them 500 times, I'll have them all memorized so I don't have to focus so hard on remembering them!

Effect: Doof gains the Meta-Trait "Backstory Blues," which grants a +5 on anything the thread can produce a Reasonably Tragic Story for.

Negative: "For just a moment, it was... like he was still here."

Effect: Doof gains the Malus "Backstory Blue Platypus," which puts a -10 on all his stats until the reopened mental wound is closed by liberal application of Technor and time.

The bad-inator is ridiculously unbalanced compared to the good.

Good: Only +5 bonus, limited duration, does not grant national or personal actions and technically could be limited in scope

Bad: -10 to everything, lasts multiple turns, REQUIRES ACTUAL NATIONAL AND PERSONAL ACTIONS TO FIX and would apply to all but quest actions.

What do you (plural) think the odds are on the Dickens having a bonus on "Investigate what's happening in Florida"?

I'm not expecting them to be in the know of time traveling hats, but they seem to have a general understanding of whats going on in the background of Gridlock.

Good: Only +5 bonus, limited duration, does not grant national or personal actions and technically could be limited in scope

Nope, the point of that is we, the almighty thread, can easily weaponize it to get a +5 to everything Doof has a finger in.

Forever.

While getting kicked with a -10 is only temporary. We can work that off, and hell it works itself off.

You know, I just thought of an interesting headcanon. Syndrome had a natural 1, his attacker had a natural 100, then he crit failed on his escape attempt, that is an incredibly unlikely scenario. Now Doom, he got careless with his cover up and now has a chink in his armor that we can exploit to potentially expose his secrets and eventually destroy him. And as for Toffee, he missed Janna and provided exactly the correct opportunity for us to find out about him, ensuring that we will come into conflict with him and potentially find a way to destroy him. Several villains that were supposed to die are now vulnerable in some way to us.

What if this is like Final Destination? What if Death is actively trying to destroy them, and is now using us as a means to do so? Their survival is an aberration on the timeline, and time cannot properly heal while they are still alive. So death has found a way to take them out, by using someone who was never supposed to die, but still succeeded, as his unknowing agent?

I mean it's not likely, but that's why it's a headcanon isn't it?

Edit: I apologize for any improper grammar or spelling errors, I'm using my phone's admittedly shit voice recognition to write all of this because I have broken out some more grapefruit wine, I might wind up doing an Omake on this idea. For some reason, grapefruit wine serves as my muse, honestly I think that might be rather sad.

Headcanon: Dr. Phillium Benedict is gonna be appointed back to being the Secretary of Education.

Don´t think he´s around bc that would mean he´d be the Villain who won Recess...which in turn would mean that the planet should be stuck in a new ice age and we already know that that isn´t the case and that Doof takes great offense to that kinda plan.

Naaah, if any Villain won Recess, it probably was Himmler Slicer.

Had some downtime on my day off, so I decided to come up with a plan suggestion for next turn.

Martial:

Upgrade Norm Prime (Wendy Wower). Far overdue, will help improve Norm's stats, might help with his self-actualization hopes, and is a really safe action in general.

Edit: Math time! DC 120, -10 with XP for 110. 20+5+30= a +55 roll bonus. I wonder if we could substitute Wendy's Learning for her Martial on these sorts of upgrade actions? It would make sense for that to be the case, her ability to upgrade robots isn't dependent upon her ability to throw a punch. That would grant an additional +23 roll bonus, for +78 total.

Diplomacy:

Collaborate with Shego on an issue (Technor)

Collaborate with Xanatos on an issue (Mirage)
The idea here is to focus on a threat to us and our allies - namely, the drug cartel hiding in the Wasteland. Shego already hates their guts, and they've started moving in on New York, which puts them on Xanatos's shitlist. It would also serve as a test drive for our ability to cooperate on greater issues. I'm also not putting Goofy on Diplo this turn because the topic of discussion is rather more violent and dark than I'm comfortable having the Toon work on.

Stewardship:

Dino Entertainment (Roddy Blair)

Sponsor SPLIT/SECOND (Janus Lee)

Reasoning: Completing the Dino tech trees will cement our status as a genetic wonderkund, and that plus SPLIT/SECOND should really help with our income issues. Furthermore, establishing our genetics cred will help with future collab efforts with the Zaibatsu and Drakktech on genetics/superpowers stuff.

Intrigue:

Investigate the Death of Alonso Hawk (Russ, if available)

Spy on your employees (Either The Commodore or Tobe)

Alonso Hawk is a limited-time opportunity, and we have some major issues to deal with regarding our employees.

Learning:

Study the SHV 20905 Plans (Wasabi)

Large Herbivore Domestication (Jumba)

The former is necessary for dealing with the cybersecurity issues, while the latter synergizes VERY nicely with Dino Entertainment. I'd prefer to put Ludivine on Large Herbivore Domestication and Jumba on Environmental Adaptations at the same time, but the cyber stuff is more urgent.

Occult:

Dance Magic (Juniper)

This is literally the biggest reason we hired her, let her do her thing!

Quest actions: Continue the Feldrake World Tour (Part 2 of ???), Janna, Liz, Marco, Wile, Norm Prime. I want to let Norm go out and do some stuff. Having him waste away trying to become a real boy again feels cruel.

Personals:

Doof: Some will vary depending on the rest of the turn actions, but I'd at least like to see him work on the Musical and use the Potion Brewer mystery box (in large part because we don't yet know what potions are at our disposal).

Goofy: Finish Your Degree. Let the poor toon have some time to himself. Either this or Home Gardening.

Genghis Khan: Study science and technology.

Monogram: Reorganize OWCA.

Dennis: Any of his personals would be useful.

Hego: Training.

Ludivine: Maybe have her work with Hego as part of his training? He might appreciate the help.

Max: ...unsure. Gotta wait to see his action result. Wouldn't mind having him play video games.

Vanessa: Either Learn Capeiora or Retake the SAT.

Kitsune: Spread Chaos or Set Off Fireworks. Preferably in LA.

Alan: ???

Tom: Rule the Underworld or Search for Star - the former so that we can get one of his "Must Take This Action 3 times a Year" out of the way, this way next turn we can have him, Marco, and Janna ALL look for Star. Alternatively, depending on the "Hate" interlude outcome, I would suggest reassigning all of the Star Vs. characters on "search for Star" this turn, and do Norway the following turn. In which case, the following:

Lizzy: Work on Excavation Tech (should synergize well with the terraforming tree we have with the environmental controls)

Norm Prime: Maybe he'll be unavailable if Wendy is upgrading him? I'd like to leave off his "end your obsession with platypodes" for after Wendy upgrades him.

Malifischmirtz: Tend your goozim menagerie. The flavor text has me concerned.

Anyway, hope this helps!

Edit: based on feedback, changing a few of the actions.

SHIV Laser: LOVEMUFFIN.

SPLIT/SECOND: Wasabi

Environmental Adaptation (Dino): Jumba

Large Herbivores: Janus Lee

We really should use a learning action to work on the drossel signals next turn. We need to reach her before someone more nefarious does.
I think collaborating with Xanatos on the issue could be a good idea, considering the DC.

Also I like tireless plan, especially Norm on the quest and having Ludivine help Hego train, and collaboration actions.

It was done, it was finally done...

Bill... was dead...

It took everything they had, but they managed to drive him back, and destroy him. And Doctor Doofenshmirtz sat against a wall in the main chamber, nursing his injuries as he waited for someone to collect him. He got lucky, when his power armor got destroyed Doof was able to get out in time and avoid anything fatal, ut that didn't mean he wasn't hurt pretty badly.

"Excellent work Doctor, I think you managed to exceed my expectations..."

Doof turned to see a new figure standing in near him, a plain looking man in a suit, but something about him was familiar...

"Who-" Doof coughed up some blood. "Who are you?"

"I have many names Doctor, but I am far older than any of them." The figure explained as he pulled out a handkerchief to wipe away the blood from Doof's face. "Mot, Anubis, Arawan, Charon, Yamma, but some in this era have taken to calling me... Mr. Death."

"Mr. Death? Then..." Doof's eyes went wide. "Then I'm?"

"No, not this time Doctor." Mr. Death said with a smile. "I'm simply here to offer my congratulations on a job well done, with your help time can finally heal after everything that happened. I knew I picked the right person for the job."

"What are you-"

"There you are, my descendant." Came another voice coming into the area. "I see Erlik Khan has already begun to explain everything."

"Temujin? You're part of this?" Doof asked the resurrected Khan. "What's going on? What job?"

"Buddy Pine, Judge Doom, Toffee, Bill Cypher, these and many more were never intended to come into power as they did." Mr. Death began to explain. "They were meant to die long before they got the chance, and preparation was in place for their departures. But something went wrong, somehow they survived, and those who were meant to outlive them died in their place, time began to buckle and bend as the intended path of history became skewed and wrong, and then paradox after paradox shook the very foundations of the world."

"Yes, Felldrake said something like that about paradoxes." Doof said. "But, what does any of that have to do with me, am I one of those people who was supposed to die, did... did Perry the Platypus die when I was supposed to?"

"No Doctor, neither of you were scheduled to die until much later, your fate was to live and prosper, coming to terms with your past and moving beyond your fixation with Evil." Mr. Death explained. "And that provided an opportunity, I can only directly act in very specific circumstances, and with how powerful Mr. Cypher had become I couldn't risk exposing myself. So I hatched a plan. I would take one of the the so called Kings, one who didn't need to die to fix everything, and manipulated everything around him so that he could kill them without exposing my involvement to Mr. Cypher."

"You mean..." Doof sais as he understands what Mr. Death is saying. "Then it was you that sabotaged Syndrome during the fight at the Sands? You left the clues about Hawk for me to find? You stopped Toffee from getting Janna before I could find her and learn about him?"

"Admittedly some of that was me." Genghis Khan says as he steps forward. "When you attempted to bring me back to life Erlik allowed my soul passage into the mortal world once more so that I could keep an eye on you, and make sure his plan worked."

"And now everything is as it was meant to be, and we can finally begin healing." Mr. Death says as he stands once again. "My employers will be most pleased with this development, they were worried that they'd have to scrap everything and start over, I'm glad to see that that will no longer be necessary. Don't worry about your injuries Doctor, you won't die from them, not yet."

"I think I'll take your word for it," Doof says with a chuckle. "Thank you, for everything."

"Think nothing of it Doctor," He says as he walks away. "I'm simply doing my job. I'll see you again, when the time comes I'll be waiting for you, where I always am, at the end."

"And you make sure you tell Mr. Xanatos that," He says as he rounds the corner and vanishes.

"There is always an end."

Just a little headcanon I came up with last night, figured I'd do something with it, as for the names they're all mythological figures that represent or preside over death, figured Mr. Death has been called several of them over the aeons.

Janna needs to do her studying personals, and she's not actually necessary for the World Tour. Kitsune should be able to take her spot.

We seriously need to deal with drossel within 2 tearns, so I would add that in there. Its seriously important we get to her before someone like Dor15 or toffee
That would be a good thing to do for the turn following. I have the Learning set up as I do because I want to finalize our control over the dino industry and bolster our rep/income both. We could possibly swap out the SHIV laser for the Drossel operation, with Ludivine set on decoding the transmissions. Hopefully absent-minded doesn't kick in again.

I assumed that since it was "Felldrake's World Tour" that we'd get the most out of it if Felldrake was actually there. And I didn't put Kitsune on it because, if I'm not mistaken, her Goblin Fox trait is active and the quest in question isn't one that permits her to indulge her wild side.

For Norm, I'd like to point out that even if we don't succeed completely on this action he'll still receive some of the upgrades and lower the Dc for later. I really want to upgrade all of our Normbots in general since upgrading our mooks is one of the things that researching AI will really benefit from and we've been sitting on that for awhile.

For stewardship I'd like to replace Janus with Wasabi since his trait doesn't activate if its not a Learning action so Wasabi's got two points on him.

For intrigue investigating Hawk's death is paramount but if it's a success we start a quest, I'd rather hold some of our units in reserve to digging up dirt on Doom at the heart of his power so I think we should hold Feldrake's world tour off. For the Commodore, he acts as an extra intrigue action so we still have an open slot.

For Learning, I'd rather not split our attention, accept our defeat in cyberspace, and just put Jumba and Janus on both of the dinosaur actions so we can actually commit to finishing a tech tree and reap its benefits.

accept our defeat in cyberspace
Unfortunately, our big problem with that is there are a bunch of programs hiding out with us, and Princess CJ is also in cyberspace. Instead, I'd like to suggest putting LOVE MUFFIN on the SHV, since with XP, they at least can't crit fail. However, they still have a chance at normal failure, which should help their thoughts on us giving them failure proof tasks too often.
