Disciples of Red Dew Sect (Cultivation Riot Quest)

So question: My character took an auxiliary action dedicated to Healing, the result mentioned Red Dew School, and its been mentioned that Red Dew School is a kind of generic 'all encompassing' school; should it just be 'Red Dew School' that Mei Qin is learning for general Red Dew School knowledge or would it in fact be Healing of the Red Dew School or some version of 'Red Dew School - Healing Branch' (or, as I currently have it listed, Healing (Red Dew School)) or results to that effect?

Mei Qin is learning the Red Dew School. The Red Dew School is a swiss army knife technique that can do a little bit of everything.

Just the Red Dew School. And it's ultra-branching array of knowledge. It can be used for literally Anything

Quick question @Arcanestomper

Do I need to cultivate my technique further to gain access to "special herbs" or would I start out with those since it's my chargen perk? Asking for granite pheasant trap reasons

So basically, "When in doubt, you'll always have at least one technique to use for your action; you'll never be without something you can use for for your Technique die".

You don't need to for your starting technique. But higher levels would need some that you'd have to fine.

Exactly

Does Elder Ping Jingai's task count as training or is that just flowery language?

Are you questioning the Elder!

It'll depend on whether the elder deigns to spend any time actually showing you what to do.

Do those of us who started with a Technique gain from training it further? Also can one gain insights/training through combat of other missions?

Yes, you can train a starting technique further. You can gain insights from other activities if you get lucky.

@Arcanestomper , what's the endpoint for the chronomancy tech path(regarding manual?)

Silver Grade Peasant Techniques. After that you'll have to find another manual or make your own way.

Would anyone be interested in working on the Red Dew school technique with Xing? he's a very lucky guy guaranteed to ease your path.

I'll probably give it both my actions unless the elder of games gives a mission.

I'm willing to team up for that but it will only be my auxiliary action.

So yeah, this is is what I meant when I was talking about '...recognizing that things may change with the reveal of the missions...'; I can't exactly have a character built around upholding the memory of the Red Dew Baron, then respond to a mission built around 'act in accordance with the Red Dew Baron' by going 'yeah, I think I'm going to do something else this turn'. :V

So...can I talk anyone into teaming up for a group community service project this turn?

I plan to take on that mission with my main action for similar reasons and would be glad to team up.

Okay. So it looks like my character got a technique manual as an outcome of her mission, and I'm assuming the post giving her a Body Tempering elixir is valid too even though it's not threadmarked.

Doesn't look like the outcome of the primary Training action as posted, though. Are you just keeping track of those in the background?

@SootCube @moon-llama @Clockwokis @CedeTheBees
Pan TingFeng is considering the merits of riceballs laced with Red Dew liquor and poppy milk for forgetting about attracting the attention of the scary Elder drugging Granite Pheasants to make them easier to fight/capture.
I think this would require the auxiliary action as making the drugged bait.
Does this interest you?

I already have other plans sorry but once we have all progressed more I will likely be interested in providing ingredients for you to use.

So far, the missions are looking interesting so far, particularly if no other missions crop up. Both of them aren't missions that can be completed individually, and require multiple Disciples working together if they want to get a decent amount done. But since they're the only missions, it means they're more likely to attract significant Disciple attention.

Conversely, anyone who isn't interested in the missions will probably just cultivate this turn.

But yeah, it's looking like most of our power this early on is going to be derived from collective action.

Luotuo should be willing to help, he might just be able to speak with his fellow beasts
and try to convince some of them to eat it if needed.

I think I'll take the two spirit stone payout rather than gamble with whether or not the group can catch enough superpowered pheasants personally

Gan Jia is torn between this and using their herb knowledge more directly on Elder Jigui's mission, but if the others (or at least the boozemaster) are down, so are they.

@HousePet I'd be down to help with the task, though I'm not sure my skills are directly applicable to trapping as opposed to fighting I intend to take the mission in any case. Could try using my fox corpse for bait or to trade for the drugs.
