"We fly!" You declared with sharp grin. Arisu blinked confusedly, not understanding when you sheathed your blade. Then she let out a squeak when you suddenly swept her up in your arms and her head turned to follow your gaze to the office windows. "Brace thyself!"
DYNAMIC EXIT!!!
Color swiftly drained from your colleague's face and she croaked. "Wait. Wait! Wait-! Let me prepare my heartttttt!"
No wait, jump good!
(Window Exit: 8 +10 (Mitsu) +5 (Arisu) = 23)
Oh, come on!
A few rounds manage to hit despite the range, but they landed squarely against your schoolbag which easily absorbed the shots as designed.
EGO Security: "Where did she get those wonderful toys?"
You merely grunted in acknowledge and sloppily pulled your helmet on. Then you grabbed the handlebars and kicked off with a hard roar of the throttle. The Ashigaru's front wheel lifted slightly at the sudden acceleration before slamming back down, the smell of burning rubber quickly filling your nostrils when you pushed your steed even harder than it had ever gone before. Arisu clung onto the handles for dear life while you bobbed and weaved at high speeds between other motor vehicles on the road, hoping that you could lose the pursuit on the streets of Hayato Strip.

"Let me have a crack at it." Beneath the helmet, Mitsu's eyes began to glow.
Don't you mean Arisu? :p
Bit by bit, length by length, the Ashigaru began to pull away from the lumbering van. You were eventually a full block away from one another, meaning that the moment you found the right corner to accelerate past, you could finally lose them. You noticed the way said vehicle's front wheels seem to slightly wobble, perhaps a symptom from Arisu's digital assault on the van's systems. Then your eyes widened at the sight of a black shape pointing out from within the van and you shouted a warning just in time for the rifle to fire through the front windshield.

(Assault Rifle (Piercing 1): 32 +10 (EGO Security) +0 (Extreme Range) = 42)

Arisu jerked her head to the side just in time at your shout and the round barely scraped the side of her helmet. Then you leaned hard to the side to throw your weight around a corner, your knee almost kissing the road in the high-speed maneuver. The moment you cleared it, you immediately went the other way to finally lose the trail, trying to maintain your high speed all the while. After a few of these weaves, you risked a look in your mirror and saw nothing. But just to be sure, you asked somebody who could have a look. "Have we succeeded?"

"I actually lost connection to the van, that's how far we are from them now," Your partner replied back, then exhaled noisily. "We should be in the clear."
Phew, that ended up being more intense than planned to.
"He...wasn't a borg?" You numbly repeated, head swimming at that reveal. "He was simply...augmented?"
Oh.
You slumped, both slightly dismayed to learn you had been bested by just an augmented individual, but also slightly cheered to know you weren't fighting an absolute monster in metal. "That is both disappointing and relieving. How vexing!"
You said it, Mitsu.
You squared your jaw and nodded. Apparently, your target wasn't even sticking around in the city- he had already been tasked and reassigned to another EGO Security branch. That had been why Mitsu struggled to find him at first in local active operatives, as he had already been transferred around. It meant that there was only a brief window to catch him before he left the city, then it was up to the whims of fate if your paths ever crossed again in the future.

Leaving it up to that certainly felt like a betrayal after all you had done, though it would definitely be the safest option. Your target was no cyborg, but they were still augmented enough to pose a danger, especially with all that cyberware. The location also made it slightly trickier: Old Europa, the western coastline of Kagoshima. Not only that, but a private dock owned by members of the Commandos. Arisu dug that up when going through records of the place- it looked like EGO Security really wanted to make sure the branch transfer went smoothly as possible.
Yeah, that is going to make this problematic.
"Really?" She asked, surprised. Curiosity finally overcame her and she popped open the weapons case to study it inside with wide eyes. "...holy shit. You didn't pull your punches at all. How the hell did Arasaka actually allow this?"
Must be a really nice gun.

As for vote, I don't know. On one hand, we should abandon the pursuit, this was never a personal hit by EGO on us, but just dangers of the job. On the other, honor duel sounds tempting after all the effort Mitus and Arisu have already put to this, though it would put Mitsu in big danger. Though in that case Arisu should be there with the rifle to watch our back, in case anyone tries to interfere with the duel.

I am thinking that since most people in our line of work either wear some sort of body armor or are modified to have internal armor we should invest in armor piercing ammunition for all our weapons.

[X] [Attack] Abandon the pursuit. It's gone on long enough. You've killed others in the name of your revenge, and no matter what, Yuuki's still going to have a missing arm. This isn't the righteous path of justice- it's of brutal vengeance and you don't want to continue down it.

One thing I do want to mention for people who might be on the fence is that Abandoning the Pursuit is the safest option in terms of risking one's life, but it also is one that will certainly play about with how Mitsu might think on the whole situation. Remember that she's the sort of person who thinks the Vendetta are actually noble compared to the Secondborn Ronin.

So it very likely will not just be a simple "just walk away" moment, but leading into a deeper conversation about what justice really should mean along with protecting her comrades.

[X] [Attack] A duel of honor. Even if they are a foreigner, challenges of honor are almost always respected on the streets should the one doing the barking be loud enough. You'd like to face him down directly, warrior to warrior.
-[X] ...and Arisu hiding on a rooftop far away, waiting for a chance to end the duel prematurely.

Ok, I think that since Mitsu's mostly doing that for Yukki's sake and consider vendetta worthwhile, it would be a realistic answer.
(And I'm in for Dice gacha anyway XD )

For everyone voting for duel of honor and Arisu hiding on the rooftop with the gun, her interfering with the duel would break Mitsu's honor. Mitsu would have basically pretended to want an honorable duel, using it just as an excuse to draw the ERGO guy out and not be prepared for an assassination.

Just remember how that will affect her.

[X] [Attack] A forceful abduction. Sneak in and find the target in the private docks. Drag them off and bind them somehow if you can to capture alive, but you won't hesitate to kill if you can't.
-[X] ...and you'll make it a show as well with how brutal a weapon made to take down cyberrpsychos can be.

I don't favor using a duel of honor as a pretext for a snipe. That is really terrible for our rep.

Hm. I'll say that voting for the Duel but without the sub-option would count as Arisu hiding nearby, but more on overwatch in case somebody tries to interfere if that helps. She doesn't need to be actually in the audience to watch you fight.

So having the sniper rifle ready would be a just in case if someone or something decided to interfere the duel Arisu will have a big gun to bail Mitsu out?

That sounds fine, but the current vote leads are:
3 - Fake a honor duel then ambush him
3 - Just ditch
2 - Actually honor duel, snipe if he cheats
1 - Just black bag him.

Celeshiro, when Arisu is on overwatch during the duel, will she be using the big sniper rifle or just a standard overwatch with her pistol? Or she will need the sub vote to bring the sniper rifle along for overwatch?

Changing my vote. Since Arisu when have the sniper rifle for overwatch for anything going wrong, the honour duel is less dangerous if things do go south.

Being strong enough to be gentle is a good phrase to go by, there's integrity in simply letting go. And besides, these mercs are top shelf in the deniable asset biz; our guy is not going to remember us or why we want after him — he's paid to forget all that stuff after a job.

Abandoning the pursuit doesn't seem like a good idea, since it will imply to people they can get away with attacking us. Best to prove ourselves as someone you don't want to go after to ensure we won't be constantly under attack.

While I prefer blackbagging, I guess a duel is fine

Except that we weren't the ones attacked. We were the ones who attacked them. It was an attack against the Arasaka corpo, we were just happened to be there as backup.

Hm, taking a look with only an hour left, there seems to be a pretty big tie between going for the duel or backing off. Perhaps some on-scene recon could help, along with some more information on what this sort of fellow is actually like. I imagine that might help people decide whether to leave him be or flatline him.
