The term was used for people who need to be replaced or rested when it comes to long term engagements. (As far as I can tell) The dictionary claims that it's any who are wounded or dead from an accident or combat.

As multiple people have said, "Boss" is Rodin, a merchant character from Bayonetta. As for why he's there... It's kind of a long story that involves Bayonetta, a Chomper, and him deciding to take a vacation. And wouldn't you know it, he picked Earth Bet of all places!
She will receive a Devil Trigger (Hah!), but it won't appear until the Endbringer battle with Leviathan. Which will play out a LOT differently compared to canon for a lot of reasons.
Thank you! I had no idea what that design of sword was called, and it was eating at me like mad trying to describe it. The only point of reference I had was Kanda's Innocence "Mugen" in its first form.
A canon character from Worm, since I'm trying to limit the number of OC's being introduced. I say they're canon to Worm, but they also appear in Ward. The decision to include them was actually suggested by my co-writer, who has read Ward. He's also the guy responsible for penning out the drafts of the "Subhuman" arc.

As for Antares without spoilers - Mary Sue. In my opinion.
Considering you're on Levi chapters - you'll learn soon enough. And good for Tay on not having Yamato. That thing is hacks. Also surprised that Taylor is using a shirasaya sword. I take it she has some basic instinctive grasp on how to wield weapons but needs to practice for more tricks ?

It's baby steps for Taylor right now. Yamato is for post-game smoking sick stylish badasses.
But yeah, for the most part, Taylor already knows how to use a katana to some extent, but unlike Vergil, she is a novice. It will take a long time before she can even reach his level, since as far as we know he's been fighting demons since he was a kid.

The original pre-re-record version of subhuman had really whack vocal mixing, resulting in it sounding like the lead vocalist was screaming

Okay, now the nicknames make sense. For the record? I can hardly wait until I introduce S9 into this, if only because things are going to get very bad very quickly, and for once, it ain't because of them.
Nope. When Taylor triggered, she got turned into a half-demon.
She's got what Vergil and Dante have without the weapons and other abilities like Devil Trigger. Increased strength, stamina and durability plus a neat little healing factor, plus she has Vergil's Summoned Swords. She will eventually be able to replicate some of what Vergil can do, like Judgment Cut, but that won't be until she has a better understanding of what she can do.
*eyebrow twitching violently* ...well. That certainly explains some of the stuff my co-writer has penned out for this arc.

I mean, Pre-DT Dante and Vergil were casually breaking speed of sound and a simple shove from Dante blew minor demon up (DMC 3 starting cutscene). And those things are Brute 1-2 at minimum. Anyway, none of that is important - what is important is for you to enjoy writing.

Welp that was an interesting build up chapter, though I noticed you kinda love to use past tense in places I think a present tense will be better like:

3. If Taylor got Vergil's powerset, is she a 'Daughter of Sparda' now or does her 'devil' part cames from a diff. 'parentage'.
Which brings me the fact that Tay-Tay is really getting Vergil's angst slowly and surely... also does Taylor have a Changer ability that turns her into Vergil?

Well, technically it's the brain-child of my co-writer, who feels the S9 are entirely underutilized in Worm fanfics. I personally don't know about that last one, since the only Worm fanfic I've read and am still reading is Taylor Varga.
As for the Nine themselves... Can't say anything without giving away spoilers, but let's just say Jack made some new friends.
Most of what Vergil can do, Taylor can do also. Except feats that explicitly require Yamato, as it can apparently cut through anything, even dimensions. Which I personally find to be total bullshit cuz, last I checked, Vergil couldn't cut Lady's bazooka.

Which, of course, spoiled me as to how the hell parahumans are even a thing in Worm/Ward. So yeah, thanks for that, ya fucking asshole (I kid! I kid! I love you, seriously. But as for how Taylor actually got turned into a half-demon, that will be explained later in the story. And as for 'parentage,' she is not a child of Sparda or related to him in any capacity, nor is she related to any other demonic entity or being. The Shard turned her into an "Artificial Hybrid" I guess you could say?
It won't be canceled, I can assure you of that. As I said, this is a joint effort between myself and another writer (who for various reasons would rather not involve himself on writing platforms), so if I give up on this, he will continue it in my place.
