Oh, shiny. Or anti-shiny. I think the guy they got to play Frank looks good.

One wonders how they're going to resolve this. The MCU isn't exactly the comics universe, where murder is always bad because it is bad. Even Cap has killed people.

Less hype for Elektra. I don't have any stories with her I like. Though at least she looks convincingly Greek.

While the Avengers have killed people, they have generally done so in a kosher way (barring Iron Man, who probably has the highest on screen body count by the main hero in his movies). Aliens and Hydra goons are threats to national security, and the Avengers are basically SEAL TEAM 6 in spandex.

The Punisher is a vigilante, a man armed with military hardware on US soil. His ilk are spree shooters, not government agents.

I thought the guy playing Punisher was rather good in Walking Dead, and he looks great in the trailer :D

Rather meh on the lady playing Electra though.

Well as we see in the Civil War trailers worlds governments are starting to question Avengers and their nature as a vigilante group employing lethal force.

The Punisher could be the logical conclusion of type of thinking the Avengers recent success is creating. And part of what makes governments go enough is enough before they have more crazy self appointed arbiters of justice to deal with.

I think Daredevil season 2 takes place around TWS and the fall of SHIELD. Although once the higher ups learn of Castle, he would be a note in the file given to Cap that sets off Civil War.

Guess what time it is?

That's right, time for a new trailer. "You can't escape the past".

Are you entertained!?

Welllup, time for the big to intrude upon the small. A larger, and more terrifying world indeed.

I liked it overall. Although its three major threads didn't mesh very well (except Punisher and
Kingpin)
and felt kinda like three mini seasons stitched together, they were each pretty good (except maybe the part about
The Hand
which although posing the greatest threat to the city, was kinda shoehorned in, story-wise). Also, the Punisher kind of got a bit too much screen time for a show that isn't his.

Character-wise, I think Jon Bernthal was great as the Punisher (and that's coming from someone who doesn't like the character), while Elektra was weakly written and portrayed.

Random complaints: fights between major characters seemed too beholden to plot, and the guy in the hangar sent to
kill Elektra for Stick
felt completely out of place (especially if you know what else he's acted in ;)). It didn't help that the use of stunt doubles during that fight was just really, really clumsy.

Just finished the season, and overall I thought it was great. The Punisher especially was very spot on and I wouldn't mind seeing him get his own show.
One issue I had is why oh why did they not put him in the costume until the last episode? They did that with Daredevil too and I don't get it. Yes I understand that the show wants to make it clear they're just starting out, but come on that's clear after two episodes.

The thing I don't get is how did the Kingpin afford to gain control over the whole prison? His lawyer says he's nearly broke after paying off 3 guys.

Presumably, he now controls the contraband going into the prison.

I liked it, but not as much as season one. In S1, Kingpin is my favorite MCU villain. In season 2
Kingpin is still the most interesting villain, and hes only in it peripherally. The hand just falls flat. The huge hole is interesting, but then it never comes up again. What was the hole even for?

Currently about half-way through the series.

Why the hell is Karen so determined to stick up for Frank Castle, a textbook example of a lone wolf terrorist?

That was different. Her life was in immediate danger from someone who was holding her captive and she had to assume the worst when it came to self-defence. Here you had someone hunting people down and murdering them in cold blood.
