Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

Pretty sure they meant upgrading the Core Purge ability itself, which might increase its damage scaling rate. That or reduce the downsides of using it.
You can't. Core Purge isn't upgradable.
Still need to hit the Control Seal, still need to do so without hitting the subject, who is far more fragile than the Control Seal, and anything capable of doing even scratch-damage to it will one-shot her, since she gets fucked up by the Hostile Divinity effect too.

And we don't even know the Control Seal exists.

In other words, there's no miracles to be had here, only taunting from a laughing god.
I was just talking in terms of dishing out the pain/re-death.

Fairly sure Red has left the area?

What's stopping her from popping back in for a second?

Our enemies are optimal and will explicitly spend time and assets to stomp out anything with a non-zero chance of effecting the overall outcome of the war. Becuase they can afford to divert those assets because they are kicking everyone's ass.

Well, a few things:
1) We don't know if she'd even be aware of the Seal breaking.
2) Rei is right there if it goes to plan.
3) Worst comes to worst, we get pwned by Goddess Red herself. Epic Death!

Alright everyone, I added the Black Knight's revealed abilities to Goddess Red's profile for you all.

Have fun~

Anyway, we ought to get XP for the people our death explosion killed. Blue Sky was an MG, and I'm pretty sure that, technically, we beat the BK with that! That deserves credit! :V
Hmm.... This idea is amusing. Might do it. Will think on.

Then Red just snipes us, as she's still in the area, just tarpitting Rei.

And if we can't even survive going a single round with her half-assed minion, it won't cause her any real effort to snuff us out.

Goddess Red is currently somewhere else entirely. The Black Knight is simply capable of existing in a completely different location without the presence of it's master.

Yes, but improving the hit scaling would make a big difference. Right now its Damage=(hpCost * 75). An upgrade that changes that 75 to a bigger number would improve our damage output by a ton.
Core Purge doesn't have any upgrades. It makes that up with something totally different though.

Don't give up on candy heart! We can just smack her face and she will come to her senses without dieing!

Also, I called it.
You are not Nanoha. And you do not have Nanoha's expy in the area.

It takes a few minutes to re-open portals. That and she's stopped paying anything more than peripheral attention to the fight from where she is, because she's busy doing things herself.

Few people can boast that.

Derp, didn't realize that. Maybe one of those shiny ??? upgrades is actually a non-level-based upgrade to Core Purge.

Here's an idea. We're in a pretty big room, so maybe we should try upgrading our Flight ability and then using it for the sake of DODGE!

If we can kite the Black Knight for long enough, a single usage of Core Purge will defeat it. Level 3 Flight already makes our flight speed be double our running speed. This should be a valid tactic if we can make our flight speed be higher than the Black Knight's running speed. Having it focus on us like that will also keep our allies safe.

Yeah, looking at that, we had less than zero chance against the Black Knight.

She basically hard counters just about everything we have, and if that changes, she just snuffs us out.

The issue at hand is that if Dark Knight feels her chance of winning is not 100%, she stops fucking around and one-shots everybody in the room. Even her casual "I'm not using any of my powers" is still enough to hilariously crush everyone involved here, it's just not instantaneous.

And running away isn't really an option because she's likely faster than anyone here, and we'd have to fight through the legion of zombies first.

Well... we got XP even though we died? Let's see how many ways we can fuck up and XP farm?

Strongly doubt that there aren't nasty consequences for losing.

Maybe not to the point that we have to play 100% optimally at all times, but still bad.

Frankly, I think the biggest issue with this quest is how the difficulty is being used as an excuse to never give us so much as a moment's break. And it makes our enemies seem to have such a crushing advantage (In thse sense that we can't so much as blink without running into a top tier), that they can afford to use their best agents on minor operations.

Fighting a battle where you can't even dream of winning isn't very satisfying. Especially since we're still eons away from being more than a speedbump to half the things we're fighting.

Simple enough.

Stick to Starshine
What about the idea I just said? Upgrade our Flight spell/speed, Core Purge for damage and to draw attention to ourself, and then fly around the room in circles, kiting the Black Knight until it dies (or Rei arrives)?

In other words, be an evasion tank with Taunt abilities and Poison/Bleed effects.

[X] Plan Anti Zombie Specialist antis Zombies.
-[X] White Knight handles the Knight, while we handle Candy Heart
-[X] Open up with Starshine, focusing on Candy Heart and keeping the zombies off us. Don't draw the Knight's attention if possible.
-[X] Team Gear will focus fire on Candy Heart to take her down rapidly if they can hurt her, or focus on keeping zombies off if they can't.
-[X] Take the fight outside if possible. If Candy Heart follows us outside, hit herwith Celestial Severancewhere collateral damage is just zombies.

[x] XP Shine Bright
-[x] Starshine 2 -> 5 90

Previous plan works fine
Especially the qualifier

Problem is... that might be enough to set BK off as well since it's also Divine.
Starshine is selective

Getting Black Knight to do anything but troll White Knight and mock her dreams is a lose condition

Yeah. In hindsight, it is really amazing that we haven't died yet with all the shit we regularly fight.
I'm probably going to lampshade this with Nepgear after this fight.

Well, here's the thing: they're not "minor operations", these are major, game-changing operations.
Lapshade? I think you mean Lampshade?
No, she'll be commenting on it while on someone's lap.

"Countdown start! Core Purge!" The sound of breaking glass fill the air, and you feel your armor literally disintegrate. Something inside of you rushes out of the metaphysical gap it leaves, and the world is suddenly...

Light.
Your inner energies flood out like a tidal wave. A wall of sparkling power that washes over everything and fills a good portion of the mausoleum. That infinite something spreads through the air, searching for something else, but fails to find it...
So...something inside Nepgear is looking for SOMETHING, but what?

[X] Plan We're a housecat, not a baby Tiger
-[X] White Knight handles the Knight, while we handle Candy Heart and the zombies outside.
-[X] Fire Starshine at the zombies entering, blow a path you can lead Candy Heart through.
-[X] Team GEAR fires on the zombies from within the mausoleum, while radioing to request backup and detailing the situation, with specific mention to Goddess Red's Black Knight.
--[X] Samuel to is to cast Shell on everyone.
-[X] Once outside and flying above the zombies and with Candy Heart, activate Core Purge. It should clear-up the zombies easily.
--[X] Candy Heart isn't an enemy, she's a victim. You don't want to hurt her.
-[X] If the zombies are dealt with, focus on keeping Candy Heart occupied or disabled while you wait for reinforcements.
