Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

[X] Plan Purge
-[X] White Knight engages Black Knight utilising her greater speed to block/negate and attack, while we handle Candy Heart.
-[X] Ensuring that Candy Heart is at least within 40 meters (if not, close the distance through flight), activate Core Purge.
-[X] Team GEAR fires on the zombies from within the mausoleum, while radioing to request backup and detailing the situation, with specific mention to Goddess Red's Black Knight. If they start to get overwhelmed, retreat to Nepgear's Core Purge aura range if not inside already.
-[X] Once Core purge deals with Candy Heart, move to the entrance of the mausoleum and use Celestial Severance to thin the zombie horde once Core Purge wears off, using Starshine as necessary. Avoid damaging the mausoleum.
-[X] If Core purge fails, use Starshine and Purifier beam on Candy Heart, making sure not to hit anything that might collapse the mausoleum.
-[X] If the zombies are dealt with, help White Knight with Black Knight, taking any clean shots at BK.

[X] XP Plan Health
-[X] Purchase Armored Core: Mythril
-[X] Purchase one level of Core Containment
-[X] Purchase one level of Starshine.

Are we able to use ranged attacks with our Purify Beam while Core Purge is active?

If so, another option is to stand near the entrance of the room and then activate Core Purge, making it impossible for any new zombies to enter the room. That frees up all our soldiers to do anything, while also letting us take potshots/suppressing fire at Candy Heart and the Black Knight.

This reminds me of something. We know the rough size of the mausoleum from:
As for size?

Roughly 100 to 120 square yards or so in all. It's slightly elongated with a central dome in the middle that the Black Knight and Candy Heart are standing right inside of, while you, White Knight, and Team GEAR are tanging near the currently open door that was busted when WK kicked it open.

Given it's described as only slightly elongated I'm going to assume the structure is roughly square. Probably somewhere in the range of 10 yards by 12 yards. Given the range of Core Purge is 50m even if the building is highly elongated, say 5 yards by 24 yards, we are basically guaranteed to cover the entire mausoleum.

So the second we activate Core Purge Candy Heart is going to go pop and we'll provide a nice and large bubble of protection from the Zombie Hoard for the full 5 turns it's up. That said unless our Purity bonus is massive The Black Knight will barely notice it, which is frankly a good thing considering how out classes we are there.

Since we're actually considering using Core Purge, another thing to keep in mind is that despite all those armor upgrades increasing our effective health, only our actual max health affects the damage dealt by Core Purge.

Also, since there's no upgrades to Core Purge available in the shop, I'm thinking that maybe it has some hidden prereqs, and max hp is probably one of those prereqs.

The current Lord of Darkness leading the Unified Darkness is the kind of guy that is completely and totally aware of exactly how powerful he is, and is currently running schemes to ensure his long term survival.

Dark Lords have gained a bad habit of dying every few weeks since the Akashic Pillar joined the mess, so you can kind of understand the worry for his continued health. Goddess Gold is responsible for at least five herself, and eight more total from the rest of the Goddesses when they were still with the Unified Light. Red Rose is sitting comfortable at Three, and each of the Drives had at least one a piece.

So that's... 5 + 8 + 3 + 3 = 19 Dark Lords alone?

The guy currently running things was actually never going to get much father then he was at the time because the Lord of the time knew how smart he was and didn't like it. Then he got a bad case of Goddess White, and shit started going to hell for the command structure.
Has he, you know, considered a stop of the war and/or defecting?

His own side would eat him alive if he tried. I actually feel kind of bad for him, now.
Now I'm considering writing an Omake where Rei takes Nepgear to kill the Dark Lord and they find him cowering behind his throne, begging them to spare him. And of course Truth is along with them so they know he isn't lying.

I'm a pretty bad writer though.

He's smart. Arrange for his forces to be eaten on a silver platter, then have the Unified Light hide him in the deepest, darkest hole as far away from the fighting as possible.
He'd have to arrange for himself to be in a place where the Unified Light could reach him without just detonating a nuclear bomb on him or something, while surrounded by guards not competent enough to keep from being slaughtered, and then he'd have to manage to open a dialogue with the forces of goodness and then convince them to actually take him in, all before he gets ganked by people on either side who want him dead to get him out of his position for their many reasons.

Hmm, writing an omake about a previous Daemonic Duchess who managed to defect could be interesting...

You're assuming he hasn't already contacted them.

Remember: enemy actions against most warlike members of opposition are great way to solidify grip on command, prepare both your own and enemy side for peace. Or lessening in hostilities.

You're assuming he hasn't already contacted them.
He'd have to do that while surrounded by demonic courtiers watching his every move, through multiple dimensional barriers, past his own spy masters and sorcerers, and bypassing the passive defenses of the unified light, and then they'd have to go through all of that again to get a message back. And that's just assuming that they'd even listen in the first place.

It's really freaking hard, and saying that I hadn't accounted for that because I hadn't listed it is annoying. Annoying. Like, the slightly fermented apple juice of anger. Just a little bit of that.

I think you mean "Dark Generals", as the job is, from what I can tell, military in nature. And a previous Dark Lord had his Generals being traitors.
through multiple dimensional barriers
Dark Lords seem to be of the "command near the front lines" variety of leader. Which makes sense, from what we know of the culture, and it cuts down travel time.
past his own spy masters and sorcerers
*looks up* Not very good, from what I can tell. And frankly, people have been doing so IRL for ages.
and bypassing the passive defenses of the unified light
No passive defences have been mentioned, from what I can remember.

Again, not impossible.
And that's just assuming that they'd even listen in the first place.
*points to Truth*

Then don't say he'd have to go a particular route.

You missed a quote tag, so I'll just have to admire the technicality-pointing-out-ness of your last response without quoting it. That's not even sarcasm, it's actually a pretty good point.

I thought Ichi was dead?

We just watched Ni revive a dead Magical Girl. Do you really think she'd leave her sister dead?

Hell the way I see it:

Ichi died -> Ni went crazy and started develing into the depths of Necromancy -> Unified Darkness gives her the knowledge/ability to properly resurrect* her sister -> Brainwashing spell is mixed into the resurrection to ensure Ichi's compliance -> +2 Goddesses for the Unified Darkness.

*Normal necromancy involves controlling the body while leaving the soul in even:
Thankfully since it didn't recall the victim body's soul from the afterlife in order to pull off, it didn't have the same stigma among the Unified Light as one would expect. True Resurrection on the other hand was an entirely different matter and a lot more complicated.
and neither Ichi nor Candy Heart sound like soulless puppets:
"Not much of you was left when they buried you... but enough. I need you to take care of this little problem, would you?"

The girl looks up and smiles at the older woman. "I'd love to! You won't need to worry mother!" And with that she spins to her feet, and Goddess Red turns to the portal and walks away, the Necromancers floating into it ahead of her.
"Understood! Now, time to transform!" Light spills from her hand, and as it arcs around her she speaks words that nearly tear your heart from your chest, "Candy wrappers and cane canes! I am Magical Girl Candy Heart!"
