Those... Were words.
Agh, forgot to reply in order to explain things. Anyways:
1. The Executor was going to retire, but ended up dying after being struck a fatal blow by the Fake Servant like 15 years before the start of this quest.
2. The Mystic Eyes Train is an auction on a sort of "ghost"/magical train that runs along leylines. One needs to be invited via an invitation in order to get on, though a few people can finagle some solutions in order to track those with invitations to get on the train. This auction claims to be able to buy and resell Mystic Eyes, which is usually impossible due to Mystic Eyes not supposed to be working for other people (and they're true to their claims, it's probably their extraction method that allows them to be reused).
3. Karabo Frampton was there to sell his Mystic Eyes for the Church for money, as since he was retiring he didn't feel like he needed to use them anymore. Needless to say, Jewel-class Mystic Eyes, the highest class of Mystic Eyes, are worth a lot. His Mystic Eyes of Transience allowed him to view the past in the form of "bubbles", full-stop. What differentiates it from the lower-class Mystic Eyes of Retrocognition is that he is able to bring forth events recorded in the past - such as a knife slash in the air - into the present, which as usual, when used correctly, is OP. And to top things off there's literally no physical or spiritual way to defend against it, allowing him to harm/kill even Servants even with a mediocre slash of a knife.
4. The Fake Servant appeared on the train to help exfiltrate the perpetrator of the mysterious murders on the Mystic Eyes Train. The Fake Servant is actually the Servant of the body double of Iskandar, who's actions in life prevented them from being materialized in Iskandar's Reality Marble despite they wanting to be. The Fake Servant was summoned somehow by the perpetrator after they stole the remnants of Iskandar's cloak, leading Waver to look for it on the Mystic Eyes Train due to the note the perpetrator left to lure him.

That somehow managed to make me even more confused.
*Shakes fist in annoyance*
"Yes MOOOM!"
Thank you, sweetie.

EDIT: So I was having a big think earlier today, and it hit me that, while Oriko would probably be disappointed with how prickly and unwilling to reciprocate her familial desires Caren is, that it's Kirika who would be the most upset with her girlfriend's cousin. Consider- The girl who was rewritten to embody love in Element and Origin and who is loyal even after death to one single person, versus the woman who takes "love thy neighbor" to its most bodily extreme without regard for loyalty or affection for the person she's loving.

I hate to ask this after I've already gotten votes, but can I get you to, I don't know how best to say this; beef this up a bit? It feels really stretched and thin, like you're trying to compress an entire day into a single post, and I don't feel like there's enough for me to work with in a manner that I'd be satisfied with.

If I had to give some recommendations as to what I need, I'd start by cutting off the Homura part, and by adding more detail to the Archer part. What plans are we making with Tomohisa? What's dinner going to be? Aside from the roses, how are we planning on charming Minako? Is there anything else we're missing that got cut in order to add the Homura stuff?

EDIT: This was not supposed to be threadmarked. Everyone please ignore that, unless you have suggestions to add to the vote, in which case feel free to make your voice heard.

Er, the plan only covered like a 3-4 hour period from Homura's lunch period to after school when they're heading off to the Kaname residence, so none of the event itself.

In any case, cut out the Homura stuff for now, and added the full meal plan (took a little bit of time to look things up, sorry about the delay). While the Miso and Sunomono are run-of-the-mill, the Japanese Beef Steak and Genmai are the real gems that Archer and Tomohisa will really be working on getting perfect as there's a lot of room for cooking something amazing out of them (as there's just as much room to cook something horrible, but this is the Dad-squad we're talking about). For dessert, there'll be a seasonal Strawberry Shortcake with homemade Strawberry Mousse used as filling, as apparently sticking with seasonal specialties is very big in Japan and this is a classic Spring dessert there (and elsewhere).

Added in some instructions for Archer to be more charming, I think.

Okay, hyperbole is fair, but it's still a larger chunk of time being compressed into a single post than I feel I can do justice to.

Day 38 Chapter 6
[X] Plan Shokugeki

"So, what's your big plan for dinner tonight?"

You try to ignore the elbow connected to a certain blue-haired friend of yours as it jabs you in the arm. You also try to ignore the raised eyebrows also belonging to said blue-haired friend as she says "You're super-smart, so I know you've got one. So how about it? Tell your old pal Sayaka, eh; what's your big plan to impress Madoka's folks tonight?"

"Don't be mean, Sayaka-chan," Madoka says, directing her pout in Sayaka's direction as she tries to get her to stop tormenting you. "Homura-chan doesn't have to do anything special to impress mama and papa. They like her enough already."

"And besides," you say, having finally grown tired enough of Sayaka's teasing to speak up. "This dinner isn't about me impressing the Kanames. It's about Kaname Junko trying to play matchmaker for Archer and Kure Minako."

Sayaka shrugs, saying "Well, there's no reason an opportunity for one can't also be an opportunity for the other."

Sayaka and Hitomi go their separate ways at their usual intersection, and the next few minutes of the walk home is spent between just you and Madoka. At the intersection where Madoka meets you ever day, the two of you stop, and Madoka asks "Are you coming?" as she tugs on your sleeve. "I thought Kirika-chan was going to have dinner with us as well, but she went off with Tomoe-san like always. Is she not coming to dinner?"

"I'm sure she is," you say; her tutor and her mother will both be there, so you imagine that, one way or another, Kirika will be made to join you all for dinner. "I imagine she just wanted to go home so she could change into something nicer." You smile for Madoka, as you regrettably pull away from her. "I'd like to do the same, actually." Madoka pouts at the prospect of having to wait for you, now, when you're so close to joining her, but you make your best attempt to turn her frown upside down. Hugging her, you say "I'll just be a few minutes, okay? You won't even notice I'm missing."

"Okay," Madoka says, as the two of you part ways at the intersection. "I'll see you soon, then, Homura-chan."

"I'll see you soon, Madoka."

Your return to your apartment sees you greeted by a certain troublemaker sitting in the foyer. As you take your shoes off, you lean down to pet Amy, before the scent of Assassin sends her scampering off. "Welcome home, master," Assassin says, greeting you with expectant eyes. She can't want to touch you this early in the day, can she? "Do you have any plans for this evening?"

"As a matter of fact, I do," you say. "I'm having dinner with the family of my girlfriend. Archer, Kirika, and her mother will also be in attendance." You speak, and Assassin's smile upon seeing you lessens. So she had been hoping to spend the afternoon with you, it would seem. "If you can stay in spirit form, you're also invited to join us, if you'd like to. I... Would invite you in person, perhaps posing as a distant cousin on Archer's side-" It could work. Their skin tones are similar enough, even if their facial features don't appear remotely familial. "-but I'm afraid that they might want to shake your hand, or touch you, and-"

"And you do not want any harm to come to your girlfriend's family; I understand." Assassin forces herself to smile, though you can tell she doesn't want to, and she says "I will be fine staying here by myself. This outing is for you, your family, and loved ones; and my place in your family has not yet been solidified. So I shall respectfully keep my distance tonight."

You nod, choosing to respect Assassin's decision by saying nothing, as you head into your room to get changed. You throw open the doors of your closet, staring at your options as you ask yourself out loud "Now, which one should I wear?"
[ ] Black jacket, lavender shirt, black skirt
[ ] Black gothic-style dress with white trim

"You look gorgeous," are the first words that come out of your mouth when Minako opens the door for you.

"Oh, please, I look like I just got off work."

To be fair, Minako is wearing the same exact outfit that she was wearing when you stopped in to drop off her lunch, but "That doesn't change the fact that you look gorgeous." Saying that, you present Minako with the bouquet of roses you bought for her, and as she takes them from you, her face flushed and scarlet, you say "For the beautiful lady." You hope her creepy neighbor is spying on you right now; the more he sees that Minako is taken, the greater the chance that he'll get the message and leave her alone. As Minako wanders into the kitchen to put her new roses someplace safe, you catch sight of Kirika; she's not particularly dressed up, wearing her usual attire, but at least her shirt and skirt appear to have been recently pressed, so it's not as though she won't look unpresentable.

"You'll ruin your appetite if you keep eating," Minako says to her daughter as she snatches from Kirika's hand the pretzels she had been snacking on. "This is an important dinner with my boss and her family. I want you to be on your best behaviour tonight, understand?" Kirika rolls her eyes, muttering something under her breath that sounds a lot like "I understood it just fine the first three times you said it" as she she drags herself out of the kitchen. "Don't forget to bring your school stuff, okay? I want to see you working hard to bring your grades up."

Kirika rolls her eyes again as she ducks into her room to grab her school bag, while Minako returns to the door where you've been waiting. You hold out your hand as she approaches, saying "Shall we be off, my lady?"

Minako can't contain her blush as she takes your hand "My, someone's a charmer tonight," she says. Then, leaning in as her blushing smile turns to a calculating smirk, she whispers "I hope there's more where that came from."

Kirika, apparently smart enough to know to avoid her mother when she's like this, waits until Minako is done flirting with you to emerge from her room with her school bag in tow. Together, the three of you head out; and as you cross the threshold of the second story, you sense a pair of eyes, watching you from not so far away. You choose this moment to straighten your tie, and once you've done that you offer your arm to Minako, and she loops her arm around yours; and as she does, you feel the sensation of being watched fade.

"So," Minako says, as the three of you step onto the train bound for the southern residentials. "Care to give me a little preview of what we're having for dinner?"

"I don't know if I should," you say. Minako sits down beside you, while Kirika takes her seat across the aisle from the two of you, taking out her phone, probably to text Mikuni about their plans later tonight. "Kaname Tomohisa swore me to strict secrecy."

"Please, what's the worst that could happen?"

"We don't get to eat," you say; mostly in jest, considering that Kaname Tomohisa in no way swore you to any kind of secrecy about dinner. "But, I suppose what he doesn't know won't kill him, so... Alright, I'll tell you about dinner."

"Your wife told me to get in touch with you about dinner," you say to Kaname Tomohisa, having called the number Homura gave you for the Kaname residence the moment you were finished chatting with Minako after delivering her lunch. "She also says hi, by the way, and told me to tell you to get a case of her favourite beer."

On the other end of the line, you can hear Kaname Tomohisa laughing, and he says "Yeah, that sounds like Junko all right. So, since you're bringing our guests, I was wondering if you had any recommendations to make for tonight's dinner."

"Well, Homura's a good kid; she'll eat anything you give her; and Minako's so used to frozen food that probably anything you make her will taste good." Were the two of you speaking in person, you're sure Kaname Tomohisa would be shaking his head right now. You can even see him doing so in your mind's eye, accompanied by the "tsk-tsk" sound you hear on his end of the line. "Then there's Kirika; she's big into fish, from what Minako tells me, but I just made her some the other day, so don't feel compelled to make fish solely on her account. What about on your end?"

"Well, Junko's been hankering for some beef steak lately, and it's been awhile since I had a good enough excuse to splurge and make her some. So that's what I was thinking, if you think it'll go over well with the others."

"Sounds fine by me. I've been trying to put more meat into Homura's diet lately, but she's still as skinny as a twig; and then Minako just needs more real food, full stop. Is there anything you need for me to get?"

"Let me see..." There's a pause on the line as Kaname Tomohisa thinks, eventually returning to you to ask "How does sunomono and genmai sound to go with it?"

"Sounds perfect."

"Great. Then if you get the beef and can make something for dessert, then I'll handle getting the cucumbers and the rice."

Minako licks her lips at the sound of real beef steak, and once you've finished telling her about dinner she asks "So, what's for dessert? Is that also a secret?"

You nod your head to Minako's pouting; but of course, that's just you playing coy. "Well, how can I keep a secret from that face?" you ask, having never intended to keep it a secret in the first place. "Dessert's going to be a strawberry shortcake. Made it myself, and I already brought it over to the Kaname residence when I dropped the beef off earlier."

"You know, I haven't had homemade strawberry shortcake since I was Kirika's age." Hearing her name, Kirika looks up from her phone, but returns almost immediately after as it buzzes in her hands. "My mom used to make them for me whenever strawberries were in season."

"Then it looks like I've got a lot to live up to," you say, hoping that your shortcake is good enough to compete against a mother's cooking.

"hey, Archer," You had turned your head to look out the window for a moment, but upon hearing Minako calling for you, your attention is right back on her. "Should I... Should I be nervous about tonight? I mean, people usually have dinner with their boss when they're talking about promotions, or stuff like that; and I'm worried that I'll make a bad impression on Ka- On Junko-san, that'll cost me my job."

"Don't be," you say, wrapping an arm around Minako's waist. You don't think you'll ever get over how warm Minako is. Is this what Homura and Kirika feel each time they touch their significant others? "Don't think of it as dinner with your boss. Think of it... As dinner with an annoying friend who's trying to play matchmaker for you."

"Yeah, but aren't you two already together?" Kirika asks, disengaging herself from her phone long enough to speak up. "Or has the past week just been you two fooling around for nothing?"

"Don't let Junko-san know," Minako says, shushing her daughter. "We're planning on surprising her when she tries to set Archer and I up."

Kirika shrugs, and says "Whatever. I wasn't going to say anything anyways," as she returns to her phone.

This was just going to be the Archer stuff, at first, but once I got writing I realised that, if I cut the Homura stuff out, then I'd be posting the Homura stuff after it would have already happened, chronologically. So here I go, managing to incorporate both parts of the vote into one.

--[X] Kirika
---[X] asking her about how her tutoring session with Dad went
--[X] Mamadoka
---[X] asking her more about her line of work, considering her previous offer for when you're old enough; you've given it some thought and the prospect of getting into business seems like it'll play to your strengths (not to mention how you finagled the Holy QuinSextet into existence despite your near non-existent social skills)

The gothic dress option is a bit too overdressed for this occasion; the first option strikes a nice balance, since this is more of a semi-formal event (if even that).

Feel free to retroactively cut out anything if it gets to be a bit much (or separate it into multiple chapters, whichever); just dumped a bunch of stuff here since the 'Wat do?' wasn't too clear. :p

A, can I get a cleanup in aisle vote, because I think you're spilling produce all over the place with no regard for common decency; and B, what, no love for Kirika?

[X] Enetious

I don't know if anyone has commented about it previously, but I am in awe at how you keep coming up with good prompts and plans, especially at the rate you do.

Aaaand I forgot about Kirika, added her into the vote. Anyways, these are all just conversation points per person, so I can't really reorganize them as I have no idea how dinner will go (heck, they're not even in the door yet, so we don't know how things are looking). That's why I'm guessing you could just pick and choose things out of this list for whenever Homura or Archer are talking to someone in particular, when it makes sense. Don't feel like you have to do all of it in detail. If needed, you could even just footnote some of it if you still want to include one thing or another.

Thanks for the compliment, though to be honest I have no idea how I come up with half the stuff I do, it just kinda happens as I'm writing out one point or another and branches off from there. :)

eeeeh, I'm not too sure about this, feels like a big dampener on the dinner that isn't needed.
Thanks for the compliment, though to be honest I have no idea how I come up with half the stuff I do, it just kinda happens as I'm writing out one point or another and branches off from there. :)
inb4 Enetious is co-QM of Confringentur 2 and we're all left in despair without someone to come up with votes :V

[x] Enetious but I vote for gothic dress

Aaaand I forgot about Kirika, added her into the vote.
And speaking of Kirika,
--[X] Kirika
---[X] strangely being offered good advice from her about what to do for your and Madoka's next date (OOC: she does have a matching Origin and Element of Love after all, so no big surprise)
A, we've already gotten some relationship advice from Kirika previously- It was when we split into two random teams to hunt down witches, back when she was still without legs. Her suggestions were to make a dinner that your SO likes, break out the wine and have a few drinks, then settle in to watch a movie until you and your SO would rather be kissing than watching said movie; and B, unless you're willing to tell me what advice Kirika is prepared to offer, this sound a bit too much like "voting for other characters' actions" for my liking; and if you can't tell me what advice Kirika is offering, then I'd ask you to change this to a different conversation topic.
--[X] Kirika
---[X] before they arrive, asking her to keep their status on the downlow, and if she wants she could help them with their ploy
---[X] about whether or not she talked to her girlfriend yet, and what she had to say about it
Minako already went over the whole "keeping quiet" thing with Kirika; and what sort of help are you suggesting that she could help Archer and Minako with?

I mean... He kind of is? The sequel is when I've planned the Apocrypha for, and I did go to him for advice on a few of the enemy servant picks. So, yeah.

We'd definitely be fucked without, if not him, then anyone acting as our major contributor; which is why I strongly encourage everyone to contribute. Even if you're content to sit back, let Big E do the hard work, and thank him when he's done I, for as much as I appreciate his contributions as much as everyone else does, would love it just as much to see every one of my voters contributing.

Swapped out the Homura-Kirika dialogue with something else, which also happens to be a possible trap for Kirika to fall into if she accidentally acknowledges Archer as her Dad. Removed the whole keeping quiet thing too, thanks for the heads up.
I mean... He kind of is? The sequel is when I've planned the Apocrypha for, and I did go to him for advice on a few of the enemy servant picks. So, yeah.
Oh yeah, I guess that kinda counts. Gotta use that useless degree in Nasuversology somehow, I guess. :whistle2:
