[X] Plan Walking On Sunshine
You finish breakfast, shower, change, and ready yourself for the new day. A day where the only thing you have to worry about, is the fact that you have nothing to worry about. Ah, but you're Akemi Homura; you can surely think of something to worry about if you really put your mind to it. It isn't that worrying will bring you peace of mind; rather, having something to worry about gives you focus and clarity; a mission.
You find your mission in Nagatsuki Miyuki. Archer may have checked in on her last night, but there's plenty that could have changed regarding her situation now that it's a new day. You reach for your phone, scrolling down among your contacts until you find her name. You dial, and you wait.

For a moment, you don't know if Nagatsuki Miyuki will pick up; or worse, that something has already happened to her; but then, "Hello?"
"Nagatsuki Miyuki, this is Akemi Homura speaking."
"Who?" You feel foolish; you know you said your name to the Shirome girls at some point in time, but you never considered the fact that they might forget, or were never paying attention when you gave your name in the first place. "Oh, right; now I remember. Sorry. What did you want?"
"I just wanted to check in with you, and make sure you and your friends were doing alright."
"Uh... Okay? I mean, you only let us go a few hours ago; I don't think there'd be any time for things to go wrong... You know, worse than they already are, no thanks to you."
"I think I was quite lenient with your friend; though I'm not here to argue how we could have handled things differently. I really am just concerned for your wel lbeing right now."
"Well, outside of this stupid rash I picked up from sleeping in a gross basement for a week, things are going okay. I mean, if you wanted to pick me up some cream while you're busy being concerned, that'd be great."
Now, this is interesting news. "A rash?" Kyouko slept in the church basement for longer than Nagatsuki Miyuki or her friends, but you never heard her complain of any rashes during that time, so you had assumed it would be safe, especially for a puella magi.
"Yeah, right here on the back of my hand. Showed up some time last night. I'm pretty sure I got it from sleeping in the basement, since there's nothing else I could have done that would have gotten me a rash."
"Well, I am sorry to hear that; though I'm also glad that everything else is going well, outside of that. Unfortunately, I don't know if I'll be able to pick up any cream for you between now and when I have to be at school." You would suggest that she get in contact with Mikuni Oriko, who lives much closer to her than you do and could probably have Lancer pick her up some cream within the hour, but with things between those girls almost certainly still touch and go, you're hesitant to say anything on the off chance that your intuition or Mikuni Oriko's precognition are wrong about those girls. It wouldn't be the first time either of you have been wrong. "Anyway, if all is well then I'll let you get back to your life. I'm sure you and your friends are glad to be back."
"Yeah... Listen, I know I probably sound kind of bitchy right now, but I really do appreciate you calling me to check in."
"It was my pleasure. Take care, Nagatsuki Miyuki; and don't hesitate to call me if something should happen."
"Right." The line goes silent, and you place your phone back into your pocket. School, and Madoka, await your arrival.
"Homura-chan!" calls the voice of an angel as you approach the usual intersection. You and Madoka hug each other, and with all your strength you attempt to lift her off the ground in order to spin her in your arms. Unfortunately, "Weihihihi, that tickles Homura-chan!" you're only able to lift her a few centimeters, and your twig-like arms barely have enough strength beyond that to spin your girlfriend around. Instead, you've just managed to put her into an oddly-positioned hug.
You set Madoka down, but only let her go after giving her a proper hug this time. You smirk, and lean into her ear to say "Sayaka went on her first date with Kyouko last night; you know what we have to do, right?"
Madoka, sweet, innocent, Madoka, returns your smirk with the most devious look you never thought it possible to see on her angelic face. "We've got to pay her back for all the times she's teased us."
You don't have to wait long before your prey is in sight. Sayaka walks with a spring in her step; you're glad to see that last night's romantic escapades have lifted her spirits, but it'll be a victory all the sweeter when you can finally return all the favours her teasing has done for you and Madoka. "What's up?" she asks, none the wiser as to the plan you've concocted. "What did Kyouko and I miss after we left your place?"
"Oh, not much," you respond, doing your absolute best to hold in your smirk. "In fact, I'll bet you and Kyouko had a much more eventful time than I or anyone else did."
"Tell us everything!" Madoka can't contain herself, launching the operation timetable ahead to zero-now-hundred hours. "Where'd you and Kyouko-chan go for dinner? Did you see a movie? Go to the arcade? Did you kiss her?"
"Whoah, whoa, calm down!" Sayaka has to dodge out of the way to avoid a flying Madoka. "relax, will you? Geez, it's not like I was gonna hold out on you or anything. You guys are my best friends; of course I'd tell you how my first date went." With those words, Madoka appears to unwind, and after taking a few breather moments for herself, Sayaka says "So, we actually ended up going to the movies first. Or, we tried to, but the one we wanted to see was all booked, so we had to give up on that idea. After that, I tried to get Kyouko to come to that sorta fancy-ish place my mom takes me to for my birthdays, but she insisted that fast food from the mall was just fine." Sayaka adopts her best impression of the redhead when she says "Mall's where we first met, ain't it? So it only makes sense fer us ta do dinner there, right?" No one in attendance can hold in their laughter at Sayaka's spot-on impression of her date. "So we get there, and I'm all set to pay for her mountain of food - and seriously, I still have no idea where that girl puts it all - when out of the blue, she decides that she's gonna pay for me. Like, what? I mean, it's a nice gesture and all, but really; I was fine paying for both of us."
Now it's Sayaka's turn to join in the laughter, saying as she fails to compose herself "So after we ate, we went to the karaoke place for a bit, we sang for a bit, we kissed for a bit, and then, Kyouko said she wanted to take the party back to my place."
Hitomi's face goes scarlet, and she brings her hands up to stifle a gasp, saying "Sayaka-san! You- You didn't!"
"What?" Hitomi's words give Sayaka pause, but once the gears in her head are working again, "No! Oh, gods no Hitomi! I mean, I thought the same thing at first when she said that, but it turns out she just wanted to check out my apartment. Geez, Hitomi, I'm not stupid or anything. I mean, yeah, we kissed, but we didn't go any farther than that."
"So what happened after that?" you ask. "What happened once Kyouko brought the party back to your place?"
"Well, mom was home, for once, so I introduced them to each other. They got along pretty well, and then we just, kinda, ate ice cream and watched terrible movies on TV for the rest of the night." Sayaka is smiling as she recounts her date; that's a good sign, probably. It doesn't sound like anything went too terrible, aside from not being able to see the movie they wanted to. "Then we kissed goodnight, she went home, and I went to bed; and now here I am telling all of you about it."
"You didn't offer to walk her home, Sayaka-san?" asks Hitomi in a clearly false indignation. Somehow, even though you never gave her the memo, it appears that she's decided to get in on the teasing just as well. "What a terrible way to treat a lady."
"We're both girls, Hitomi; and I mean, if I'd walked her home, then either I'd be walking home by myself, or Kyouko'd feel like she had to walk me home; either way, one of us was walking home by ourselves. At least Kyouko's able to take care of herself if something happens." Sayaka looks to you. She says nothing, but with that look in her eyes she doesn't have to. "But nothing's going to happen, right?" You nod.
"So..." Madoka approaches Sayaka, her face as innocent as an angel, but as slick as a devil she asks "Is Kyouko-chan a good kisser?"
"Compared to what? The goodnight kisses my mom used to give me when I was little? Yeah, probably. Maybe. I don't know." Then, just when victory appears near, Sayaka smirks, and turns the tables on you when she says "Of course, you're probably better off worrying about your own girlfriend's kisses, and leaving me and mine alone." Sayaka's retort leaves Madoka thoroughly scarlet-faced.
"So, while we're on the topic of dates," you say, trying to move the conversation away from an avenue you should have expected Sayaka would be able to turn to her advantage. "Hitomi, how was your evening with Kamijou Kyousuke?"
Even though she had been smiling just moments before, the mention of that boy's name still casts its shadow on Sayaka's face. You doubt she'll ever be over that boy. "It was pleasant, thank you for asking Akemi-san. I was helping Kamijou-kun get through some of the schoolwork he missed while he was in the hospital, though somewhere along the way we decided we'd rather watch a movie together, so that's how we spent our evening as well."
"And did you and Kyousuke-kun kiss goodnight as well?"
Hitomi shakes her head, sending her emerald locks bouncing as she responds to Madoka's question with a "No. I've already told Kamijou-kun that I intend to save our first kiss to celebrate his first recital after he's done with his physical therapy." Well, at least it's somewhat concerting to know that of all your be-coupled friends you aren't alone in lacking for the touch of your lover's lips.
Not like a certain other friend of yours, who you doubt could survive for one day without kissing her lover. And speaking of Kure Kirika... "Hey! What took you guys so long?" As always, she and Tomoe-san are waiting for the arrival of you and your friends. "We were waiting here a whole-" Kure Kirika checks the time on her phone, saying "-two minutes later than usual. What gives?"
"That would be my fault," you say, feigning an apologetic bow for the chocolate-haired girl. "I made the mistake of getting our group wrapped up in discussing Sayaka's date with Kyouko."
"Oh yeah, so how'd that work out for you two?" Kure Kirika asks, turning to Sayaka. "I told you, everything would go great, didn't it?"
"Yeah... I guess it did." Sayaka says, shuffling awkwardly before forcing herself to say "So, uh, thanks, for telling me it'd be alright. I actually had a lot of fun with Kyouko last night." It's good to see that there's no more tension in the air between those two, but you're doubtful that Sayaka will find it easy to speak to Kure Kirika for some time still.
"Oh, Kirika-chan! I almost forgot to tell you!" All eyes are on Madoka; yours included. What could Madoka need to tell Kure Kirika? "So last night, I learned that your mom works for my mom; and mama's all excited about inviting her, and Archer, and Homura-chan, and you to our house for dinner some time. Do you want to?"
Taken aback by Madoka's question, Kure Kirika can only scratch her head, saying "Uh... I dunno. I mean, thanks, I guess. I'll let my mom know she's invited, and see what she says."
The others file in through the main gate, leaving only you and Kure Kirika still standing around. "You know, Kaname Junko is only inviting Archer and myself because your mother has a crush on him."
"Yeah, I figured as much," Kure Kirika says.
"Knowing her, I'm sure she has some sort of plan to use this dinner as a way of setting up Archer and your mother."
"Again, I figured that was her plan."
"You know what that means, don't you? If our parents end up together, that'll make us step-sisters." You smirk, clapping Kure Kirika on the shoulder as you say to her "Well, then I guess I'll see you around, big sis." That sounded weird, and as you walk off, leaving Kure Kirika stunned, you wonder what compelled you to say that to her in the first place. Maybe Archer's rubbed off on you more than you realise.
