Christopher Columbus Lands in Thedas?

Teen Spirit

Lost in Ever After
Pronouns
He/Him
What if towards the end of his first voyage, Columbus's ships get caught in a storm. Just as the Storm breaks he sees a green explosion in the night sky. When Dawn comes the Ships find themselves close to shore. The shores of the Tevinter Imperium that is.

Basically what if the Breach caused Thedas to be transported to our world in 1492, replacing South America. Assuming the Qunari Islands are in the Caribbean (The freakish storm took Columbus past the islands because contact between the Qunari and Columbus ends only one way) and the Forest north of the Anderfels ends somewhere in Central America. So assuming Tevinter doesn't immediately enslave and or kill Columbus and his crew, how do they react to either other. What are the long term effects of Thedas being in our world? Besides weather effects, yes I know if we were being realistic, the changes in weather would be catastrophic for both sides but really I don't care about things like that.

Also there are no mages in the old World.

Africa turns into a more of a hellhole. I also foresee more then a couple plague demons being formed when negotiations and exploration really take off. Can't thing of anything else right now.

"Those Across the Sea"? ;)

More seriously, it is possible the African slave trade now becomes a business between Europe and the Tevinter Empire, making it larger and worse than it was in OTL.

Qunari would pose a problem for any sort of serious trade. Though Europe of the time does kinda of do away with the Qunari's tech advantage. And while I can't imagine Europeans would be particularly thrilled about any nation in Thedas, Qunari would probably upset them the most.

The Qunari are going to have one of their biggest advantages taken away from them when some enterprising European sells rest of them the recipe for gunpowder.

I suspect that both sides are largely killed off by plagues they have no resistance to, instead of only one side like in real history.

Are they transmissible between species?
I'm not sure if the races of Thedas are actually different species; looking at the Wiki I note that for example elves can have children with humans, they are just all to external appearances fully human children. Regardless, since humans and apes can pass diseases to one another, the various races of Thedas are likely close enough.
