Birth of a Legend
Momma P.O.V.
"Are you sure we should be stopping here? Sure, there's a house, but the Grimm could come any second."
Oh,
Come. On. You loved your brother, but if he didn't stop whining...
"Brother, dear, please man up and come on. We have to rest for the night, or we'll get overrun. Now, that stable may not be the most defensible, but it is at the very least
something."
He looks at you, then back at the stable, then back at you, an incredulous look crossing his face.
"You call THIS
something? All that's even here is a couple of donkeys! When, and it is most definitely a when not an if, the Grimm come, this won't stop them for even a second!"
He isn't
wrong per say, but if you have to go on any further... yeah. Even now, you feel like collapsing, and if your brother wants to whine about it he'll have to carry you.
You tell him as such, and while he keeps whining, he does start to set up camp in the stable.
You tell him he has the first guard, and immediately set off to rest.
Hmmm... so she is to be his mother...
You easily drift into a dreamless sleep but are soon shaken awake.
You groggily open your eyes and look at your brother, concern in his eyes.
"Are you all right Carmine? I heard you screaming a name!"
A... name? That's weird... but as you get up to take over the guard, you here a voice in your head...
Setanta...
...you aren't going crazy... really! Hearing voices is an Arc thing, not a Winchester one! Hell, your ancestor burnt their founder at the stake for this very thing! You don't remember the whole story, but supposedly Jeanne was a heretic and believed that the voice of Light was speaking to her. Oh, no that isn't right...
Oh, that was it! She believed that the man from the Myth of the Four Maidens was working through her, and guiding her actions! But according to her heretical branch of the church, he was a demigod son of Light!
A noise in the distance snaps you from your thoughts. Red eyes peek through the branches, and you only have time to yell before you're set upon by the beasts of black and red.
A smirk crosses your face, as you ready yourself for combat. This will be
fun.
And then you
charge.

"Carmine? The men are talking..." Your brother looks forlorn as he enters your room.
"Well, they can take their talking and shove off. I've said time and time again that I didn't sleep with you. If that failure of a hunter Sultam wants to make a fuss about it, then I say let him."
If anything, your brother's expression falls even more. "I would say the same, but word got to father."
Oh... NO. Father was a priest and an important one at that. Normally rumours like this would bounce by quickly, but Father depends on donations. If people thought his children to be in an incestuous relationship, it might ruin him... before your brother says a word, you know what he is going to say.
And sure enough...
"He's demanding that you end the child."
You hate yourself for even considering, but you know you have to ask...
"Or what?"
Your brother gives you a pitying look, but answers.
"Or he does. You know that he has Marcus on the payroll..."
Oh dear... you were confident in many things, but fighting off THE Marcus Black? Was not one of them.
Unbidden by you, tears come to your eyes.
"V-very w-well."

"C'mon Set! We've gotta go!"
You frown. Set had been frustrating recently, always going on about being a hunter. There was a camp near the house that offered pre-Signal lessons, but it wasn't the typical type of school. Once you went, there wasn't any leaving until they declared you passable or it was time for Signal to start.
You know that your cousin had sent his kid, Cardin, and apparently, they weren't expecting to see him again until parent's day, when they'd be allowed to visit Patch. Admittedly, that was probably the plan, for your cousin is an ass, but still.
"But I don't wanna! I wanna leave and visit Uncle Konk!"
Of course, the fact that your brother Conch ran the camp probably didn't help...
"Set, we've been over this. I'm not letting you leave for the camp. Now c'mon. You need a haircut and I need to run some errands."
Your son starts to sulk but eventually looks up at you.
"fineeeeeeeeeee."
Unbeknownst to you, the hand behind his back was...
[ ] Crossing its fingers. He was planning on running off the very first second he could.
[ ] Doing absolutely nothing. He loved his mom too much to run off like that.
Shaking your head at his belligerence, you continue on with your day. It was looking to be a long one...

It's the 20th right! No? Oh... well here's the thing. I was kindaaaa sortaaa doing the maths, and then I got bored, and then I looked up Cu since he was winning, and then I wanted to write a little bit, and then I got to this vote, and then I was like, hey? Why not post it? 2 weeks early? And there wasn't anything that was necessarily
against that in me, and so I did it, and you got this! Yay!
Don't expect anything else until the 20th, okay? I'm serious this time, promise.
Oh, and if anyone is wondering? Yes. She did indeed get that abortion that it mentions, at her father's insistence. Yes, she gave birth to Set. Confused? Good. Bwahahahahahaha
