70 odd years ago we learned we weren't alone, 26 Years ago aliens invaded, 23 years ago they took over, 3 years ago our leadership came back, 2 weeks ago we sent every last body we had in a final all or nothing strike against their leadership.
It is here the quest begins with society in utter collapse, no city is undestroyed, no government intact, no society undisrupted, the vast majority of people living in wastelands and wilderness. This is not the story of a triumphant humanity having boldly defeating an alien threat by coming together. There are no cheering crowds nor victorious masses. This is the story of the enemy winning, humanity defeated, and only a spiteful boars charge upon the spear of the enemy showing the faintest glimmers of hope.
Thirty and two years. It has been thirty two years since they invaded. These horrid years of alien incursion and harried resistance before our leadership was taken, our societies violated, and our people subjugated. However, after a generation of struggling resistance our leadership was rescued, our knowledge unearthed, and many of us liberated.
If only it could have stayed that way but it didn't. We lost, we lost and we knew it. The enemy never idled and in those years of conflict and subjugation they grew and reinforced while we were the ones who stagnated. They outgunned us, outthought us, outmanned us, and fully overpowered. If they are gone, if they are stripped of leadership let it be known that there was no victory, no heroes to praise, no triumph to cheer. If this is the damned world we will see then it is the result of a full resistance commitment, a swarm of every fighter, gun, vehicle, and spot of technology we could muster in an all out global strike on uncovered leadership around the globe.
This isn't a beautiful sacrifice, it will be ugly and it will fail. This strike will likely end up written in history among the worst attempts at resistance ever. There are no angels saving graces nor clean light before us, this is the boars charge to meet the spear and as the charge of the boar it is a charge that will see us dead.

-It is here in the southern congolese river that the forward party to sequester biotechnological databases lie, hidden and rich in opportunity in case of failure both by the natural harmonies of the region and the use of the congolese forests as a biotech testing range by agencies pre contact and Elders alike. Combined with the perpetual, even post "unification" chaos in the region was reasoned to allow for activities to remain hidden for lengths of time if need be by ADVENT and resistance alike. However, in taking this advantage the site was left dearth of present communications and manufacturing technologies.
-Typical in the region for Elder activity would include biotechnology testing and mineral extraction. This would lead to greater fracturing of the area increasing strife and decimating large cities. Further, Elders would periodically run abduction and terror attacks to fuel their propaganda engines upon the corpses of the peoples within the congo.
-Of the people remaining, many would be worn through war as a constant both against the dangerous environs of the congo, Elder raids, and one another. This would both compound and wash the strifing groups in the area as old grudges were cleansed and new ones formed. Let it never be said that these are a people far from adaptable for strife and suffering carries along with it the glimmer of opportunity.
You will take the place of a nomadic resistance cells along the river hidden by the vastness of the congo and the dangerous biome created.
-The Yellow River saw major expansion as a region of manufacturing and goods processing and, with Elder practical propaganda, one of the last bastions of environmentally harmful mega industry. While ADVENT had a stranglehold on the region as they built vast mines and plains effectively salting the earth and river of life much can and would be lost in the vast smokes that would go from covering few cities, cleared of pollution in their borders by Elder technology, to a covering of entire biospheres in cloying, deathly smog.
-The people who now occupy the river are the hardy sort, the refugees and freedom fighters spanning the entire river and indeed from across China having congregated en masse in forging resistance settlement in the area. These "cells" if even they could be called such have reasoned into a rather hardy sort devising ingenious methods to survive in the dead and radioactive wastes of the Yellow River, an effort necessitating a degree of unity yet unheard of spanning the resistance across the river.
-Away from the deadlands ADVENT hold was strong and Elder influence stiff assimilating and indoctrinating who they could and driving others to sharp division as much as possible within their banner. The remains of China serve as a prime example of their peacekeeping and unification abilities as they play god.
You will be playing a confederation of resistance settlements.
-The northeast Rockie mountains would see their vast underground resource stripped while the dispersed population would fail to receive the usual assistance from ADVENT being deemed too insignificant. This would result not in the expected resistance cells taking in the majority of the disunited populace as would occur elsewhere but for the populace to fracture further and be taken to scavenging, raiding, and general disorderliness.
-The lack of Advent activity would mean that organization occurred around self preservation rather than resistance as the population otherwise aimless took to any and all means to provide for themselves in a display that would reach the organizations forming. This anything goes mentality would predictably lead to as many issues as it did solutions though a rough status quo would be formed by the beginning of the latter half of occupation.
-The peoples here are lacking in leadership and ideology alike forming disparate groups based on the vaguest causes with what little semblance of law there is coming not from any central authority but agreements between various groups in their area of influence. This means that while competent and lively organization is difficult as one needs often seek different groups for different parts of any given goal. When properly brought together these are a people to be reckoned with however being capable of nigh on anything.
You will be playing as the Scavver's Den, the largest alliance of Northern Rocky peoples
-North Korea has served as one of the last bastions of the pre unification world, a feat allowed by ADVENT so they could point and jeer at the foolishness and depravity of those who would resist them. As such they have been left to their relative own untouched by the "unified world" and unsupported by mainline resistance. This rather predictably played into the narrative and propaganda engines of North Korea which would see some serious depreciation until the coup by the new leader's sister.
-The famine and collapse of the state would breed opportunity for a coup and reformation in the earlier years post unification that would see the newly formed neo juche practice put into effect as there would no longer be any foreign aid, trade, assistance, or conquest. This would be highly unsuccessful in the earlier years with the population being nearly decimated before the coup, afterwords the reformations that took place would see the state stress tested to the extreme with the decline ceasing though the population has yet to recover.
-It is here that Elder manipulation has not been the greatest threat, rather resistance against the present regime has led to great strife and destruction worsening the ill effects of the extant famine and running information networks and underground railroads throughout North Korea. This has heavily reduced the influence of the state to such a degree that areas outside of pyongyang and its direct periphery could be said to be under influence in name only when not in outright revolt contributing the utmost minimum to receive necessary aid from the capital. This is a precarious balance shifted ill in favour during the last days of occupation.
You will be playing the glorious Democratic People's Republic of Korea distinct from the other Democratic People's Republics of Korea in that this is the one who can both truthfully claim the leader's legitimate bloodline as leadership as well as being The Free City of Pyongyang.
-The Falklands were deemed to be unsuitable for ADVENT practice geographically thus largely evacuated during unification. Though not without the placement of much marine infrastructure in the area. Not overly well suited for resistance the islands were further abandoned until a single cell managed to covertly subvert the present ADVENT infrastructure breaking the shackles and brainwashing of who they could and assassinating and/or quietly replacing who they couldn't such that by the final assault the facilities had been utterly subverted and several rebel cells quietly relocated on the islands from precarious positions around the world over years
-The Eldar activities in the area centered around aquatic industries, technologies, and warfare leaving the waters rife with all manner of operations covert and overt. Though fully subverted this took time and the reigns on the projects would not have stayed on forever meaning that many of the effects and operations by the Elder would remain to this day.
-The peoples here wouldn't be the toughest physically but the accomplishment of subverting and indeed surviving on the falklands was no mean feat itself and the skill it took to accomplish this would show among these people. Further, the people of the marine front would be among the most diverse in the world not only having taken in rebel cells evacuated the world over but having by necessity fully accepted defiant aliens among themselves as well.
