Being a human in the Old World means a live of struggle and difficulty, but you have sworn not to survive but to trive
Character creation
When you woke up the sun had just appeared over the horizon and the cold air of the morning filled your room, so it was with a grumbling that you rose from your bed and went to wash yourself. You dressed yourself with the finest clothes you had and made your way towards the great hall were you joined your family for breakfast; it was there that your father awaited you, Otto von Herrmann was a imposing man, standing closer to two meters tall and with a long grey beard and curled moustaches, unlike you he was dressed with riding leather and mail, clearly ready for is monthly trip through the family fief.

"I'll leave in less than an hour and I will be gone for at least three days, meanwhile you will take up the mantle of Baron, and when I return I will expect to find the castle still standing" said your father while drinking from a tankard of dwarf ale, a smile on his lips; in response you simply bowed and replied, while wearing a smirk on your face "As you command, my Baron". Then you locked yours eyes with him and, after a minute of stare, you both failed to contain your laughter; with a pat on the shoulder your father saluted you and left the great hall.

When you had finished eating the breakfast, consisting of black bread, sausages and a copious amount of ale, you decided to go to your favourite place in all of the castle, the south tower. Once you reached the battlements you basked in the morning sun like a cat, stretching and making your spine do a very pleasant popping sound, from the tower you looked down on the small town that surrounded the family castle, a couple hundred houses and shops protected by a wooden palisade and a river on his western side; on the horizon the forest loomed over the villages and fields that gave most of your subject a mean of income.

Later the same day, after having completed your duties for the day, which meant studying and holding court and hearing the petition of the people, you decide to spent some time towards your favourite hobby; which was...

People in the castle says that when you partake in your hobby you lose the sense of time, which is true, because when you decided to interrupt your activity the night had already fallen and Mannslieb and Morrslieb shined brightly in the clear sky; so you decided to eat a small plate of mutton and carrots before going to bed. That night you had a terrible nightmare, a great shadow loomed over you, and the feeling of dread that emanated from it was so strong to crush you on the ground before you could react; then the shadow stepped on you, killing you and making you feel a tremendous amount of pain.

Just as you woke up from your nightmare a furious knock to your room's door was heard, a second before one of the servant barged in and said in hurried tone "You must come quickly, your father has returned but he is injured"; at the servant words you immediately rose from the bed and, wearing only your smallclothes, run towards the castle entrance where you fund your father resting on a table, he was still wearing the same clothes as yesterday but they were covered in blood, blood that came from a wound in his side. Before you could shout to bring him to his room he beckoned you forward and once you where by his side he said with a whisper "It is too late for me, the minotaur blade was made by the Lord of Decay, but in the end I killed it"; after a cough of blood your father continued speaking, this time with even lower voice "Give me my blade, let me die with my sword in my hand" a guardsmen passed you the family blade and you put your father fingers around the handle; with his last bit of strength he said "Sigmar, I come".

You remained there looking at your father body, until one of the guards said "The Baron is dead. Long live the Baron!" a phrase soon taken up by all the guards and servants present. The next day passed like in a daze; you remember to have ordered the body of your father to be burned and that you spent hours looking at the smouldering pyre, later in the solitude of your room you fell asleep crying and remembering the fond times spent with your father. During the night the nightmare returned but this time, when the shadow tried to crush you, a searing light come from behind you; and while you couldn't turn your head to see from what the light emanated you felt invigorated by it and with a war cry you charged the shadow and with a touch you banished it.

You rose the next day with courage and hope in your heart and decided to start your tenure as Baron by calling on your old tutor that also served as advisor to your father; soon you meet in your solar with...

Huh, that was actually a pretty well-written intro nice job. Now I just have to decide where I want to take this character... Hm, well as a baron we aren't in control of any considerable land nor do we rule over many men, and the Empire has no shortage of great warriors, generals, or both in one so well we'll still want a good martial/combat stat due to this being you know Warhammer I don't think it should be our focus instead we're probably better off focusing on stewardship, diplomacy or learning.

Each of these focuses would have its strengths of course with stewardship if we develop our skills enough potentially allowing us to advise important individuals such as the Elector Counts and Emperor on economic matters where we could help to develop the Empire strengthening it economically so that it can bring more resources to bear in all its efforts. An especially useful set of skills if we're in an era with an Emperor who tends to neglect non-military matters although it would be particularly weak in an unstable era like that of the Three Emperors at least in terms of increasing the strength of the Empire as a whole unless we had a secondary focus on intrigue.

Diplomacy on the other hand if again we were able to develop our skills sufficiently would allow us to help unite the Empire internally or if we're in one of the eras where that's not a problem potentially settle issues among the sane nations of the Old World allowing us to tie them together and unite them against the insane factions creating our own little order tide. Although this focus is honestly probably strongest in an era like that of the Three Emperors rather than one of the more stable ones such as under Magnus or Franz due to their own diplomatic abilities creating a strong degree of overlap with our own.

And, lastly learning which is probably the strongest long-term option if we're allowed to noticeably develop the Empire's tech base at least but which wouldn't do much good to mend the very immediate problems that are inherent to an era like the Three Emperors or the rule of any kind of less than competent Emperor. Both of which would quite heavily stimy any efforts we made to spread our inventions, and would be drastically more dangerous for us as well so a learning specialty would be best utilized during an era where the Empire is already stable at least internally, and already being ruled by a strong Emperor who just needs a bit of help from us.

With all that in mind Orsocinghiale when exactly are we right now to our protagonist's knowledge?

I could see my self voting for a martial/stewardship build, or a stewardship/intrigue build. A Noble perhaps a bit to much fond of trade, and counting coins, with a bit edge and shrewdness to them.

That pic makes me wonder if proposed MC has some Norscan blood in her?

But I do like the plan.

I also like the plan, especially the Part where we are in Ostmark. That means we can get invaded by nearly every enemy of mankind.

There have been plenty of ambitious bastards throughout history, and being a genius would explain why our father elevated us to legitimacy before his death. Being a Verenan and a Scholar enables us to push our knowledge further faster, allowing us to improve our stats quickly.

Being Just and having a good Stewardship adviser will allow us to make the transition to ruler easier, administer our lands efficiently, and more importantly, help improve our infrastructure and develop our economy. Armies march from supplies acquired or purchased by coin, logistics is king, etc. With healthy and thriving lands at our back, we can march and hit the enemies of man hard.

Oh, and Hochland because I am hoping for some Hochland Long Rifle goodness. Seriously, get some dedicated snipers going.

Point system seems jank. 7 points for 25 total stat from genius. 3.6 stat per point. 2 points for 10 total stat from ambitious. 4 stat per point. Just a straight +7 to everything. Anything that doesn't take both of these will just be shooting yourself in the foot.

Damn you! Optimization, my one weakness! :V

I need to think.
