Like how the Devas were a thing in this world for a while, but died out at some point before communications with the Digital World were properly established. Possibly due to being attacked by a still-vengeful Parrotmon.

Realistically speaking, the entire thing is far too much to dump on our poor parents in one go. They absolutely deserve to know where we were, but the stuff we went through would be enough to give them a heart attack.

You pass by a lot of terrified people, on your way home, and wonder what will happen when the authorities get to the park, to find no giant insect in sight. At least it's not something you can get into any trouble for- you were pretty sure that this wasn't a good plan from the start, but there's no stopping Izzy once he gets an idea.
At least, that's the excuse that you're planning on using to your parents. You could get in trouble for fighting Devimon, for planning to run off and face the Dark Masters eventually, for inviting a large number of friends over without permission... but hopefully not for this.
You're probably going to get in trouble no matter what you do, but you can at least ensure it's just for things that are actually your fault.
Your mother's already there when you get home. "Sora? What are you doing back from camp?"
"It's a long story, Mom..." You sigh. "If you want what everyone else is hearing, camp closed early due to snow."

Of course, you think the main reason you have permission is because everyone knows that Tai will go back with or without it, and someone needs to make sure he doesn't get himself killed, but that's not the point here.

We're about to face a number of powerful Megas. While I know Sora is the team mom, she needs to be able to take care of herself in order to be able to help others. I'm also just tired of trying to take care of everyone, all the time. Sora should get a break.

Yeah, what happened to the Original DigiDestined's partners. But she can't help. The trauma she experienced due to them is blocking her Digivolution. This is better for the Original Group rather than us and the current issue with the Dark Masters.

And if we're really unlucky, that'll give them all the time they need to find a way to unleash Apokalypmon without dying first.
What's more, unless we want to rely on Miracles, Mega Digivolution requires that we either master our Virtue Trait "Child of Love", or reach 70 relationship with TK or Kari.

Yeah, getting stronger is gonna be a bitch. We have to do it, though- Garudamon and AngeWomon hit Piedmon at least six times, and he barely flinched. An entire team of Ultimate levels would struggle against even one Dark Master, to the point that MetalSeadramon was only defeated because WarGreymon is literally built to fight dramons! Even WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon may not be enough. I would like to get HerculeKabuterimon for his raw physical power at the least, but anyone would be acceptable-we need a third Mega.
