Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

Powers are people themselves, and they're not willing to just sit back removed from the world. They can decide to change things if they need to.
Yeah, but I wouldn't put it past Joe to find a way around that. Possibly memetic in nature. I mean, he's all the kinds of bullshit when it comes to tinkering, he just needs a direction to tinker into. Hell he could do something Stranger based and make something that'd "eat" all the butcher identities, essentially resetting them to nothing. If SCP can come up with Anitmemetics, Joe can too damn it!

He already has them in the Prismatic Laboratory, he is just understandably terrified of the reality altering colors.

Maybe he already has.

Finally, the last Fashion perk. And right when he's face to face with the Butcher too, Forge do be trolling as always.

The stars really have aligned as Apeiron has just decided that this summit was when he would begin moving proactively to unfuck Earth Bet.

Between the pauses to 'think' and how his words were to the point, with no bs mixed in, he is probably passing the image of someone thoughtful and measured. This should be reassuring to everybody involved.

Except maybe for Tt, given she may have had some insight that after receiving a new power, his personality changed into being not-a-doormat, which, given how powerful he is, is the contrary of being reassuring. 'He deeply damaged BB while being a doormat, what will he do now that he's trying to not be one?', is what she would/is probably thinking, should she be aware of the changes.

His power doesn't actually change his personality, it just gives him immediate feedback about how he approaches his life. (Taking initiative and connecting to others strengthens Mental Fortress, being passive and isolated strengthens Reaper.)

It's basically the gamification of mental health... which, to be fair, still makes it one of the most OP perks in the entire forge :V

and yet another 10k chapter where nothing happens. when stuff happens in this story I love it but that is extremely rare yet somehow good enough that I keep reading. I just wish the technical bullshit spouting would stop.

Look on the bright side, Joe's not gonna be a door mat anymore. Sure the rest of the chapter can be summarized as "Capes moved chairs around, Butcher was posturing" but this is still pretty big.

I actually gotta say, this chapter served a very important function- it introduced us to the Teeth. Not only that, it introduced us to the Teeth as protrayed by Roustabout. It's a common failing of fanfiction to assume that the reader is intimately familiar with everything about a given character.

Introducing a new character even temporarily will take of stage time.

More could have happened, in terms of plot advancement, sure. but it maintained coherency of scene and setting, and (re)introduced us and the other characters to each other.

Wow...
I still remember when the chat had a debate about Revival and Reaperdom and how the Forge would handle which path it took. I always though he would simply get Revival, if only because I can't imagine Joe being able to kill people to fuel his own power. But this is much better, its an amazing representation about the theme of "The World End With You", at the end it all comes to a choice.

Its not an instant choice to change everything, but a choice you have to make every day of your life. And it is a choice that Joe has struggled making since the start of this story. The fact that you gave him a chance to choose it out of his own free will is amazing, but making it a process, the first step of a journey? I could feel the emotional weight of it on Joe.

I also have to wonder what that immense force of personality capable of negating all mental manipulation would do to his Aura. What would it do to his Aura capacity? his regeneration rate? and most importantly his undiscovered Semblance? I remember Lord saying something about it being useful for evasion? or was it defense? but since Joe has been trying to not fall into bad habits he hasn't discovered it.

I liked how the perk inmediately affected Joe and his decision making. I could easily see him spending all the meeting trying to make the literal Super Villains happy without compromising his morals simply because he was afraid of using force. The way he confronted the Butcher was nice, specially since she obviously came to the city because March promised her help dealing with her powers and the likely multiple personality disorders and traumatic experiences of a dozen of people who have triggered. Will he offer help in exchange of getting the fuck out of his city? I could imagine Damsel accepting the same deal if he offered it delicately enough.

I´m a bit worried about the Clone team and what they themselves will chose. I can easily see them choosing Reaperdom without telling Joe and focus as much as they can on making all the Pins they can before Joe notices that his power Buffer of 17 lives is going down.

Changing topics to something a bit more silly, when I read about the Sun Crystals the first thing that came to mind was Joe integrating them into his biology and becoming a Superman Expy. I imagine it wouldn't even be that hard if he just Hybridized some Ragnite and Sun Crystal technologies.

The way Tetra shows her emotions so easily around strangers and enemies makes it really obvious that she is rather young mentally. Even if part of it is because she knows they aren't exactly a threat to her family or herself.

Ah yes, the clones choosing of their own volition to become passive for more power. I feel going behind Joe Prime's back is somewhat thematically opposed with Repeardom. If anything, I can see the clones leaning more towards Revival than Prime.

Through the meeting I had felt their reactions to the eb and flow of the discussion, always moderated by self-control and rarely, if ever, actually displayed through their actions.

Ebb

On reflection, that was probably why Uppercrust has proactively acted to sidestep the entire thing.

Had

He ignored the concerned look from Jacob's Ladder as he concealed the tool the exertion had taken on him.

Toll

Basically, by integrating projected crystals into any machinery I formed could completely bypass the issues of mana conservation.

Should either be "into it," or just add a comma and delete "into"

The sigh that I still had a line of information dropped the general level of anxiety to the point where I probably didn't need to worry about anyone jumping the gun.

Sign

The slapdash assembly or piecemeal armor, spiked accents, grisly trophies, and support equipment was in constant flux.

Spree, Animos, Reaver, Vex, and Hemorrhagia could all be easily identified, while a seventh member was either a new recruit of a cape from one of the splinter cells who had recently changed her costume.

Or

The heart that had been rebuilt with the highest levels of workmanship and artistry possible in a bit to save my life.

Bid

The heart that had gone unnoticed by everyone, save a off hand comment from Tattletale about something being 'different'.

An

It is beyond lubricious that any force in this city would wish to see your return.

I'm guessing "ludicrous" but after looking up lubricious I kind of like it as is.

Tetra, well, she was trying to avoid looking at Hemorrhagia, but that made the fact that she was restraining herself from looking at Hemorrhagia, which only served to put the cape further on edge.

Missing something here. Could just swap made with "stressed" or could add a phrase at the end "made the fact...more obvious"
