Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

Speaking of Tetra becoming a Kamui, what design do you all think she will take if/when she becomes one? I am thinking some sort of skin tight bodysuit that is worn under Apeiron's costume with some belts and straps attached to weave into his Iconic Outfit and armor plates/weapons.

Then again, I have never watch Kill-La-Kill and just looked at the wiki page for Kamui and noted the more coverage the more powerful but also the greater potential drain, which Joe should be able to handle even if he crafts Tetra into some divine, perfect Kamui.
I'm sorry, but it's got to be the Japanese School girl outfit, with the suspenders and the gloves, them's the rules.
Either that or he can go with the giant oversized robe with a million eyes ala ragyo's final form

Wow.... I knew fiat backing would mean Joe was a good teacher but I think I seriously underestimated just how good. I definitely feel for Aisha with the whole, now that I know what's possible how can I be satisfied with something so much worse. That it's kinda similar to what Joe is going through makes it so much more impactful since it'll bring them closer together.

And then you rolled my most anticipated perk. I'm fascinated by the implications of Infusionist I'm definitely looking forward to seeing where you go with that but more importantly. Felyne Companion!!!!! Hello to our glorious adorable but also sometimes scary cat FRIEND Tybalt. You did a good job of introducing Tybalt and giving us a strong impression of who they are and some idea how they'll fit into the team dynamic. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Tybalt and I'm curious what equipment Joe will make for him.

The teasing about Fleet and Survey's bodies was fun. I'm looking forward to seeing what they end up with and hopefully our wonderful community will bless us with some fanart once you do. I'm still just in awe of the idea of 150 liters of Matrix. I'm curious what Matrix is planning that needs that many nanites.

People are definitely going to freak out at Somer's Rock.

And then if that wasn't enough Joe got a new short ranged teleportation power which stacks with all the other movement boosts in recent chapters. An ambush like what Oni-Lee and March pulled is seeming harder and harder to replicate.

And of course the other important bit is the Capstone Constellation being unlocked.

Corrections:
You referred to the Crafting Skills Constellation as the Crafting Constellation which is a change from your usual.

Question:
Have you finalized the list for the Capstone Constellation at this point?
Also just to confirm is the rule for Capstone that Joe needs to have the correct perk in another constellation before the capstone perk can be rolled?

Onto Rolls analysis:
I'm slightly confused by the progression of rolls in this chapter either we ended with more points than I thought or Lord omitted a missed roll close to the beginning of the chapter. For now I'll assume the former. Regardless the impact is the same.
Roll 1: (600-600) Magic: Infusionist. I'm so happy to see this perk it's been one of my most anticipated perks and as usual Lord did a fantastic job doing it justice. As I said above I'm looking forward both to seeing what the impact on Joe's crafting is but more importantly how the introduction of Tybalt will impact on the team dynamic.
Roll 2: (100) Knowledge: Missed a 1/9 chance of either getting Basic Techpriest knowledge from Warhammer 40k or a single Star Trek Skill. The Techpriest perk would probably have been the more impactful of those but it's hard to know some of the Star Trek Skills are a big deal.
Roll 3: (200) Size: We were nowhere close here.
Roll 4: (300) Magic: We missed a 1/4 chance to pick up Synchronicity Event which would boost all Psychic powers that Joe has and help with giving those powers to other people.
Roll 5: (400-200) Crafting: Weapon Crafting. This perk is a boost in so many ways. It further increases Joe's Mobility, lets him keep more perks at hand, allows him to use certain types of Ammo without worrying about people reverse engineering them and of course it lets him restyle his hair which is apparently important for Fate magic in some way I can't wrap my head around. This also unlocked the Capstone Constellation which means a lot more work for me.
Roll 6: (300) Knowledge: We had a 1/6 chance of rolling something. In addition to the options above we could have rolled the Titanfall perk which boosts Joe's ability to understand technology. More of an incremental boost than a massive leap as far as I can tell.

I'm hoping cat guy didn't automatically take up the spiral power thing that Joe was able to assign to someone else.
He didn't

You BASTARD!!!!! I thought THIS was the chapter where he goes to Somer's Rock! If in the next chapter that doesn't happen... I will find you.
It won't be next chapter either as Lord said in the note at the top.

Monsters are a specific thing in PJO, and I don't think parahumans being considered generically supernatural/magical is enough to qualify them for the category.
Celestial Bronze works on Parahumans so I think it's solidly possible.

@LordRoustabout I think that RWBY grants 3 free companions as well as part of your team. If so, then Tybalt gets Aura on top of everything else.
From the jumpdoc:
You can start a team with your companions without importing them. They'll need to have their Auras unlocked, but they come with free IDs.

I think his power would even let that be the judgment while he is gnawing on your face in a berserker rage. Which is absolutely terrifying. On like, a number of levels.
as he just decapitated leviathan and kicked it's head over a building.

terrifying thought: Do Endbringers/conflict engines count as weapons?

a certain son of Ares, whom sometimes grants his children Weapon control want to know... (a 4 pound soaking wet furball that just KICKED leviatan over a skyscraper has now bullied the endbringer into kneeling and being his personal mount. The worlds reaction: Aw, look at his adorable outfit)

Regardless of their individual human puppets, how are the SHARDS going to react when Joe and company stroll into the bar?

Squealer and the other Tinkers may literally be unable to keep their hands offf the merchandise.

Would a skill thief like Victor gorge themselves or grow frustrated at their own impotence despite the apparent buffet?

Could Labyrinth sense anything about the source/nature of Joe's abilities?

LordR has noted in the past that Joe's unique status makes Shards target him and force escalation in conflicts. Given the violent and impulsive natures of several of the capes in BB (ex. Hookwolf, Skidmark), how long will the meeting last before deteriorating into a brawl?

(The brawl) had him at 'Hello.'

But more seriously, shards don't exercise overwhelming control. They influence emotional states and insert unconscious drives. I don't think that the actual meeting will devolve into a fight, but I do think it will cause a fight. Probably a lot of fights.

If someone else starts a fight then Apeiron will end it. The Apeiron way.

That said, Joe can detect if Victor uses his ability on him. Then it's only a matter if he wants to reveal it. It's a powerful tool after with major consequences if he does. I imagine that the passengers only nudge their capes against Apeiron however it's still only a factor of already present psychological problems.

Yeah so no Aura. I think the reason why Tybalt doesn't get the free ID is because Joe didn't get one (he only got the free perks related to the Tinkerer perk and Aura, no ID or Iconic Outfit).

Shard supernatural senses rely on Shard shenanigans, so they are magic, so they will be blocked\redirected to "I won't escalate regardless". Making it otherwise will be another handwavium for plot convenience.
The only viable avenue for Shards to observe MC will be through human senses. So capes who have supernatural senses will feel nothing or will not be able to target MC at all (Victor won't feel any skills). Others will feel a (Shard's) sense of confusion for why MC suddenly became uninteresting; they will either feel "he'll be protecting himself without escalating whatever I do" (aka "bunkering down") or "nothing".

Mini-Kzin get!

Seriously, war attuned, heavily armed AND armored, with a knowledge of War that could stand up to Sun Tzu, with both Spiral and his own Berserker mode?

Scream and Leap, indeed. I almost wonder if he's gonna be able to handle Leviathan on his own, up to a certain point. Definitely want to see Tybalt cathandle Levi for a bit just because, you know, cat and moving target. I'm pretty sure he'd need some sort of buffing but with Spiral there won't be much if any.

Or he could mech up and fight that way. There's a few options in that regard. I think he's going to have a ball with Giant Mech Basketball!

However, there's one thing missing: The united sound of "YEEEEESSSS!!" once the Capstone Constellation became available.

I'm really looking forward to see how Tybalt develops. And I´m not talking about Appeiron teaching him the secrets of the universe or giving him upgraded equipment, though that will be amazing too. No, I'm talking about his personality.

He seems like a really nice person, helpful and earnest, like most Felynes. But this is a Demigod of Ares we are talking about, in PJO those guys where always looking for a fight and where really easy to anger. Sure, he is primarily a Felyne and that makes him cuddly by default, but I imagine that anyone giving Joe the stink eye will loose some teeth real soon. Like a group of Villains having a dick measuring contest

It's said implied so with Wogs.
edited: since can't find the wog.
Here you go.

On Joe granting Spiral energy to someone i.e. Tetra:
One of the constraints of granting spiral energy is that Joe has to personally train whoever receives it and they are capped at whatever his max level is. It's a situation where granting it to someone outside the workshop crew is going to be difficult. Tetra is a good match because she already works closely with Joe, but it's not a decision he's going to make lightly.

On Tetra and becoming a Kamui:
Tetra is independently functional thanks to her zoanthrope form, so there isn't a pressing need for her to become a Kamui. This is fortunate as it gives Joe more time to improve his crafting through more powers, technology, and perks before the attempt is made. The important thing is that, even as a Kamui, Tetra will still have access to her Zoanthrope form, meaning she will be much more functional without a host than either Senketsu or Junketsu. Her level of independant functionality is going to be closer to Nui Harime than a standard Kamui. Still, as a Kaumi she would be able to grant Joe massive amounts of power, that kind of super-mode that could resolve almost any emergency situation. Considering the fact that she is also one of the most likely candidates for receiving spiral energy you could get scenes like this: imgur.com/i9LKAvk.gif (make your own call as to who would be Joe and who would be Tetra in that clip).

You know, maybe it's just me, but having a guy who steals abilities at a meeting between rival groups is a recipe for getting that guy shot/blaster'd. Also, Apeiron should be able to ward against that kind of effect.
Here's the WoGs on Victor. Note the second WoG might be considered a light spoiler even if it's an easily assumed outcome/possibility.

"With his new perks, would it do something in the Somer Rock event beyond Victor rising more eyebrow at his vast repertoire of knowledge?":
Its not really clear how much power Victor has over what he takes or his understanding of what there is to steal. He's been able to target specific abilities, but only after he knows what he's looking for. When Grue copied his power he was basically fumbling around trying to find anything that he could connect to. Joe definitely has more knowledge than anyone human should, so its not impossible for Victor to realize that.
On Victor's skill stealing on Joe:
Victor would be able to steal any skill that Joe could teach to someone else. FMA alchemy is the most notable, but a lot of advanced technical or martial arts knowledge could technically be stolen. Anything that Joe could not impart to another person through non-supernatural means could not be stolen. "Stolen" in this case mean copied, as Victor needs extensive amounts of draining to actually do permanent damage to someone's ability to use the skill. Otherwise it recovers quickly. Joe has a number of ways of defending against this effect including magical wards that protect against parahuman effects, his own non-conventional biology, and a certain amount of resilience that comes from being a demigod. The pin only blocks mind reading, which doesn't cover Victor's effect, though the Mental Fortress perk would negate it.

Really, Joe's best defense is the fact that he has sensors that can detect magic, and thus parahuman powers. Victor's power works on a number of paths. Part of it triggers on proximity, but other factors like eye contact, physical contact, or Victor actively focusing on a target amplify the effect. The thing is that the nature and limitations of his power aren't well known, so Victor can usually avoid notice by keeping things at the passive proximity level which just skims random abilities off people in the area, not taking enough to be noticed. Joe will know the second Victor's power is active and will be able to see the intensity shift based of the other factors. Victor wouldn't have any time to passively acquire skills because Joe would know right away.

The complication is that Kaiser would want Victor at the meeting both as a show of strength and because he is the strongest thinker in the Empire. He needs to have Victor in the room to get a read on people, using stolen body language analysis, phycology knowledge, and other perception skills. It's a lesser version of the same reason Coil needs Tattletale to be present. The assumption would be that Victor wouldn't be using his power on anyone, at least not to the point they can notice. Joe's ability to detect something as broad as parahuman powers in general is unprecedented, so they're not likely to account for him picking up the passive drain. When it gets down to it, using a power like that at a place like Somer's Rock is grounds for immediate execution. Joe would need to reveal his scanning technology in the process, but the result would be Kaiser needing to placate not just Joe but every slighted party at the meeting.

By the way, has he done anything with those weird Snails from Splatoon? I know he has other priorities but I haven heard of them and about Garment´s animal cruelty in ages

@LordRoustabout I think this was the most story friendly way you have handled power acquisition to date. I liked it.
Regarding the powers list, could you differentiate WHO has which specific power? The chapter gives some context, but just reading the list can get you lost quickly. Maybe an additional parenthetical section to the title?

You mean the list at the end? It should be better now that Lord bolded the Special Note: The Felyne granted by the 'Felyne Comrade' item is specified to count as a Companion... part. Things below that is Tybalt's. Everything below Jumpchain abilities this chapter: is Joe's.

With Joe's new costume and possibly with talks for Tetra becoming a Kamui now, the need for the shells are put further up the list. The duplicates are likely working on those shell replacement prosthetics. Though with their speed, they're probably already done.

There was a flare as each end of his jägerstock burst into flame with the same baleful glow pouring forth from his eyes. These weren't the flames of creation that burned within the forge or the Hearthfire than defined house and home. These were the flames of war.
I want Hookwolf to hassle Tybalt at Somer's Rock, while Tybalt is in adorable mode, and come to regret it.

out of contest moments
context

Aisha actually looked disappointed at that news and felt bad for damping her enthusiasm
Needs an I
and I felt bad

Read it last night, but haven't looked for the changes. Thank you for telling me about that.

The next chapter will be glorious.
Because Tybalt.
Why? Several of the free imports outright state that he got a background, meaning memories, and an alternate form of human and/or beast-human.
Tybalt is a changer and I wonder how Garment will react to the news that he needs at least three differently cut versions of every single outfit.
Now just lets hope he wont accidently flash anyone and swear up a storm in perfect english.
The forge would not be that cruel, right?... right?

Survey:
"Apeiron has been working on means of personal representation for Fleet and myself." Screens popped up displaying an array of plans and technologies, with nested revisions from the integration of the suggestions and requests that had been made since I first made the decision to bring them. "While simple drone constructs would be sufficient and easily able to hold each of our respective programs," There was a sharp emphasis on that sentence and I suspected Tetra wasn't the only one I needed to speak with.
It's always something I miss. Can anyone tell me what Surveys problem are and why Joe needs to talk to her?

So... Everyone at Somer's is hoping that Aperion will be more laid back and less completely insane and will let them go about their business without interference now that March is gone (except for at least one guy who wants healing)
1. Tattletae: Is hoping for the meeting to not go up in flames, or at least not in nuclear ones.
2. Grue: Wants out of Apeiron's shadow
3. Faultline's crew: Depending on how informed they are, they will want some kind of contract for equipment, healing or services or at least neutrality, but PRT leaks they are more likely to be well informed and request help for their team's case 53s
4. Dragonslayers: at minimum want Apeiron's non interference with Dragon, preferably his assistance reinforcing the chains or improving Ascalon
5. Empire 88: Wants Apeiron either gone (he is causing issues with Gelleshaft's support by existing) or on their side, but they might settle with confirming how sane Apeiron is with Victor's help (Victor's answer to this question isn't going to satisfy them).
6. Merchants: Don't care? Want to expand and take a smoke? They might try to flaunt their own new annihilator.
7. Coil: World domination, but since that's unrealistic, likely will try to keep things hot between Apeiron and everyone else. He needs Apeiron isolated (which he all kinds of failed and doesn't even know that), he likely doesn't want the heat that is Apeiron officially on his side, but Apeiron being on his side is definitely one of his goals. Short term might settle for neutrality.
8. Uppercrust: I'm not sure if he will go straight for healing, but that's likely an end goal.
9. ABB: some 'new' cape or even non-cape leader might be present to try to calm things down (or bakuda might try to crush the party). Depending on who might be present, they might request protections (from whom, might differ).
10. Travelers: Healing for Noelle, but overall will defer to Coil's masterplan.

P.S. I suspect that there will be more visitors than that, we might even see someone from new wave. Members (even if former ones) of New Wave (or of BB Brigade) just got a shocking wake up, some will want to keep tabs on local WMD maker, some might have questions.
